Dear stranger who made my whole day:

Dear anonymous stranger in the car ahead of me who paid for my breakfast:

You made my whole morning brighter and you inspired me to pay for the next person behind me.  Which actually made me feel even better, which is the nicest thing ever but it’s also sort of weird because the gift you gave me is basically you giving me a reason to give a gift to someone else.  Now my head hurts from the circularness, but it’s totally worth it.

When I got home I got a small, unexpected box of audio books from my publisher to celebrate winning an Audie award so I’m giving them out randomly to people who want them.  Want one?  Just leave a comment telling me if you want Furiously Happy or Let’s Pretend This Never Happened.

  1. You are awesome and I love you too! I’d love to hear you reading Furiously Happy! It’d make my day. Thank you for making me feel like I belong!

  2. Dude, I had that happen to me at Dunkin Donuts recently. Very confusing experience. “She paid for you,” said the teller at the drive-up window while pointing to the car ahead of me. I was so flabbergasted, I didn’t even think to pay for the person behind me. (I did so the next time I returned, however.) Pay it forward, people!

No need to enter me in the giveaway. Just felt like sharing. 🙂

  3. I would love an audiobook format of Let’s Pretend This Never Happened. I already purchased Furiously Happy in audiobook form, and absolutely love it.

  4. I would love “Let’s Pretend”. Now I will go do something nice for someone..

  5. I’d love Let’s Pretend This Never Happened! This way I can make my husband finally experience your work.

  6. I would love “Let’s Pretend this Never Happened” which is the family motto it seems!

  7. I would love Furiously Happy. I could use a book to listen to on my long drive to work that would force me to occasionally pull over on the side of road with laughter. Pulling over on the side of the road might enable me to also share your book with the various moose, bears, rabbits and grouse I see on my way to work in Vermont and expand your audience.

  8. I’d love a copy of Let’s Pretend This Never Happened! I loved listening to Furiously Happy. It’s awesome that you’re paying it forward!

  9. Ooooh! I would love a copy of “Let’s Pretend This Never Happens”
I pass along your books to everyone I can at the library I work at. I love your happiness even while you fight other feelings inside. I feel ya.

  10. I would LOVE a copy of Furiously Happy!! My roommate and I take turns reading it to each other in the car, and it would be great to have an audio version so I don’t actually have to talk. Because talking is the worst, and I would rather work on subversive cross stitch in the passenger seat.

  11. It happened to me too!
I guess I didn’t get the memo, but faith in humanity restored!!
But now I’m curious…Who are these people?

  12. OOH! Just got done listening to the Furiously Happy audio-book for the 3rd, yes, 3rd time. Still on hold at my library for Let’s Pretend This Never Happened. If I get it, I promise to pay it forward. 🙂 Also, your voice, in writing and in my ear, helps keep a smile on my face. Thanks and congrats on your award!

  13. I’d love a copy of Let’s Pretend! And I never understood how the paying for someone behind you thing works. Do you just leave a $10 and hope it covers them? I always feel the need to overthink it – what if there are kids in the back I don’t see? What if they’re offended I left too little? What if I left too much? GAH!

  14. I’ve love a copy of LET’S PRETEND THIS NEVER HAPPENED… because I can’t seem to read very far in the hardcover edition before I’m laughing, crying, gasping for breath, and generally making a medical nuisance of myself.

Perhaps an audiobook version will keep me from hyperventilating and needing a defibrillator.

  15. I would love to have Furiously Happy, pretty please? PS bought someone coffee this morning, so maybe it’s the day for it?

  16. I would love Let’s Pretend this Never Happened. I am going on a two-day road trip next week to visit my dad who has terminal cancer. It would be great to have something uplifting to listen to.

  17. I’d love a copy of Let’s Pretend! Glad your day was made by a stranger – it’s the small things in life that are awesome.

  18. Love the dollies in the background! I would love Let’s Pretend This Never Happened. It was so awesome to meet you in person on the Furiously Happy tour, even though you never would have guessed by how quiet I was. I’m rather shy and was so proud of myself for going to the signing by myself. 🙂

  19. I used to do that with tolls back before the days of iPass in Illinois. I would pay for the person behind me because one time someone did it for me, and it just became a thing I did. I love the idea of buying someone’s coffee!

    Also, I’d love furiously happy!

  20. Oh man I want “Let’s Pretend This Never Happened” bc I listened to Furiously Happy and I’ve read both of them but I love your voice so much!

  21. Let’s Pretend This Never Happened…it made me feel less alone.

  22. Would LOVE LOVE LOVE Furiously Happy….one of the only books to make me laugh out loud and have people stare at me!!

  23. My friend had 3 brain surgeries recently and would love a copy of either since it hurts her head to read right now! I can give you her address! 🙂

  24. Furiously Happy. Although would be happy with Lets Pretend. Either. Easy to please!

  25. I would LOVE a copy of Let’s Pretend This Never Happened!

  26. And I know what you mean about the person ahead of you paying making your day. I use a coffee app on my smartphone, so I get points and free coffee rewards — and I usually let a few of them accumulate, and then sit in the coffeeshop and pay for every other car in the driveway until I use them up. It feels good. It’s awesome to see the look of unexpected surprise on their face.

  27. Seriously? I would love a copy of Furiously Happy. Thanks!

  28. I’d love Furiously Happy. I just finished Let’s Pretend and I’m excited to read the next one soon. 🙂

  29. I would love to listen to you read Let’s Pretend This Never Happened!

  30. I already own both your books. But what I DO want is for the Blythes to stop staring creepily at me. (Also? When I’m having a stinky stupid day, I buy either the person’s meal behind me at the drive thru, or a sandwich for the first homeless person I come across. It always make me selfishly happy.)

  31. I accidentally posted this without filling in my info. My phone doesn’t like WordPress much. Hopefully this works.

I would love Let’s Pretend this Never Happened. I am going on a two-day road trip next week to visit my dad who has terminal cancer. It would be great to have something uplifting to listen to.

  32. I’d love a copy of either, but Furiously Happy would be my first choice!

  33. I love your audio – perfect combination of quotidian, crazy and hilarity in your voice. I know a dear person who is one of 3 people in the world who was great and humane and funny at being an HR director. She is in recovery from C and I think laughing at and with your observations in Let’s Pretend will beat the C into surrender. Thank you for what you write and read out loud.

  34. Furiously Happy would make me so very happy to enjoy on my hour-long commute to work!

  35. I’d love a copy of Furiously Happy!!! I haven’t had a chance to read/listen to it yet.

  36. I would love a copy of furiously happy! I’m so happy you had your morning made! 🙂

  37. Let’s Pretend This Never Happened. I have already read and loved Furiously Happy.

  38. This is wonderful. I’m having a really tough time off of my anxiety meds, and was struggling to get out of bed this morning, but this made me smile! 🙂

  39. I would LOVE furiously happy. It would make my long drive to work and sitting in traffic less of a personal hell. If I win, I will send it to whoever wants it next! I’m all about sharing the love!

  40. I’ll take either. Or both. Or Hyperbole and a Half, if you’ve got it.

  41. Classic example of pay it forward. Those are good days. Just hearing about your renewal of faith in humanity story has made me smile. Thank you. 🙂

Furiously Happy if you’d happen to pick me to win.

  42. I would LOVE to have Let’s Pretend this Never Happened. I listened to Furiously Happy and adored it. I’ll be listening to it during my runs (which hopefully help with that whole depression thing of mine…)

  43. I love those gift chains! Furiously happy, if I’m randomly chosen, please.

  44. I would love a copy of “Furiously Happy.” It might help me get through my upcoming vacation with my inlaws. A week, one house, and they’ve been treating me like trash lately, I need all the help I can get! Thanks for being awesome, lady.

  45. The thing about the whole pay it forward chain thing…like, what if you order one drink and the person behind you is ordering for the whole office? So instead of paying $5 for your drink you’re supposed to pay $30 for theirs? What do you do at that point? Just be the a-hole and slowly slink away?

  46. I CAN’T CHOOSE BETWEEN THE TWO! They’re both so good! I haven’t read Let’s Pretend This Never Happened in a while so I would love to revisit it with your voice 🙂

  47. I would love either one! I was recently introduced to your blog and have been addicted ever since!!

  48. I would love a copy of Furiously Happy! Would love to put this on repeat during our adult only trip to Disney World this fall with my aunt and cousin!

  49. I already have a copy of LPTNH. You actually commented on it when you signed it for me in Cambridge on this most recent tour. I stalked it on the interwebz until I found an affordable copy. And I love it! But I would love a Furiously Happy if you have an extra. More Rory in the world is never a bad thing.

  50. I do this every morning at the drive thru and it’s amazing how it freaks people out! The cashier is the same person every morning so she’s used to it, but she loves to tell me the responses of the people from the day before. They’re sometimes so confused they argue with her and she says she just tells them “it’s her thing, she does it every day, don’t worry about it!!” Just to calm them the heck down. I’ve even had people follow me all the way to work to tell me I don’t know them – assuming I made a mistake. Sometimes it’s hard to just do a little nice thing because people just aren’t used to it. That’s really sad. 😕

  51. I would love a copy of Let’s Pretend This Never Happened!
I love reading you – it would be lovely to listen to you too!!

  52. I would love a copy of Furriously Happy. My daughter was also recently started on medication for her Generalized anxiety disorder and Panic Disorder. She has hijacked my copy of Furiously Happy. She is very upset that she had to go on medication and feels like she failed herself. It breaks my heart, both as a mom and a fellow survivor. I would love to have this so we can listen to it when we are in the car together.

  53. Congratulations! I’d love a copy of Let’s Pretend this Never Happened.

  54. I want one! Furiously Happy would be lovely! Really I’ll take either one and be thrilled with it.

  55. I already have both on audio, but would love to have a copy of Furiously Happy to give to my friend who I keep telling about just how funny and great it is 😉

  56. Let’s Pretend This Never Happened. Already read and loved Furiously Happy.

  57. Furiously Happy! Very cool re: the breakfast thing. People don’t always suck, ha.

  58. I’d love to hear you reading Furiously Happy – I kinda need it right now, to help me get out of the depths. As usual you remain amazing. The whole community remains amazing. I think if I’m ever going to come out of hiding, it will be here.

  59. I gave a friend of mine Furiously Happy when she was going in for another cancer surgery but haven’t had a chance to read it myself so I would love that one!

  60. Furiously Happy! Heading out the door now….looking for a way to share the happy….

  61. My wife got me a signed copy of Furiously Happy for Christmas (thanks for signing, by the way), but I decided to go back and read Let’s Pretend first for background. So, if you still have any, I’d love a Furiously Happy, because that will not only enable me to keep my signed copy pristine and lovely, it’ll be a lot easier and safer to get through on my hour-long-each-way commute each day.

  62. Furiously Happy changed my life! I’d love an audio book. Oh, and let me just pull my cancer card and say that I deserve to win any contest I enter because I have breast cancer and will have my breasts cut off in about two weeks.

  63. Oooo! I would looove a copy of “Let’s Pretend This Never Happened” but it’s also on my wish list. My print copies have gone on to live at other people’s homes, and I miss them.

  64. Ooh! I would love Furiously Happy! I already have the other—you make my day every day that I read something you’ve written!!

  65. I already have “Let’s Pretend” in audio, so “Furiously Happy” would make me, well, furiously happy.

  66. Beautiful story! I’d love to have “Let’s Pretend …”, because I only have it in e-book form right now! It would be awesome to have it in hardcover, to go with my hardcover copy of “Furiously Happy”! 🙂

  67. I would love a copy of the Furiously Happy audio-book!
And gifts of breakfast for everyone. 🙂

  68. I would LOVE Furiously Happy…i think i’m gonna buy that pillow since i can’t get my own jazz hands happiness in a stuffed format;) PS: I live in NY and i don’t think i’ve ever had anyone pay for me unbeknownst to me…i think i may surprise someone – thanks for the GREAT idea!
You shine bright today – thanks for the light:)

  69. What an awesome gesture…great way to start a day! I’d love a copy of “Let’s Pretend This Never Happened” 🙂

  70. I’m torn! Let’s Pretend because hearing you laugh over the stories…and Furious because hearing your emotions over the stories.

    ARGH

  71. I hear the pay it forward stories all the time, but it has never happened to me. Probably because I rarely use the drive thru and it’s weirder to do that in the line inside.

  72. Hi, Jenny – someone paid for my latte at Starbucks a few months back, and I passed on the gift at the time; but now I want to go out and buy a coffee for someone – it’s such an easy way to spread some happy. I wonder why I don’t do it more often.

If you’ve still got a copy of “Let’s Pretend This Never Happened” I’d be overjoyed to have it. That book changed the course of my life when I met a mysterious stranger on the bus because I was laughing so loudly. I’d love to laugh hard enough by myself in my car to cause a few double-takes during rush hour.

  73. I’m good but could you send one to my mom? She’s trying to build a library in her town of Jefferson Oregon

  74. I own furiously happy, I would love lets pretend this never happened!

  75. I would love to have Furiously Happy! This post has prompted me to find a way to pay it forward today.

  76. Hi Jenny!! What a lovely way to start the day!! I would love Let’s Pretend This Never Happened , please and thank you! 🙂

  77. You. Are. Awesome. I basically live by the word of Beyonce, the giant metal chicken. Pick your fucking battles. We all love your creative genius and I’m so happy every time I see you’ve got a new post. I’d love to have Let’s Pretend This Never Happened, but if not I still wanted to let you know You Rock.

  78. Furiously Happy! Because I didn’t get enough strangers looking at me funny when I was listening to Let’s Pretend in the car – it must have been 9 or 10 times through the whole book when I was driving back and forth for hours dealing with mum’s death. I loved reading Furiously Happy but need the audio book because reading and driving is frowned upon. Plus your voice makes it SO much better.

  79. I would love a copy of Furiously Happy! I’ve bought book versions as gifts for 3 friends, but don’t have my own copy!!

  80. I would love, love, love Let’s Pretend This Never Happened, pleaseandthankyou. I laughed out loud way more on that one and would like to be able to revisit that experience via audiobook. (I did this with A Girl Named Zippy by Haven Kimmel. HIGHY recommend that book to you, Jenny, and to all readers of books everywhere. The audiobook is way better because Haven Kimmel reads it and since she’s telling her own stories it’s a riot. I often play it on my iPod in random and am shocked at how many times I can cry laughing at the same story over…and over… I feel confident LPTNH would lend itself to the same kind of good times.

  81. I’d love a copy of Let’s Pretend This Never Happened. I let a friend borrow mine…forever I guess..lol.

  82. Ahhh! Strangers that pass on happiness make the world better. I’d love either honestly as I’ve never done the audio book thing, but probably Furiously Happy if I had to choose. No…Let’s Pretend This Never happened. No….Furiously Happy. No….definitely Let’s Pretend This Never Happened. Okay….Furiously Happy. Final decision. Probably. Gah! Stop being so awesome..it’s hard to decide. Wait…never stop being so awesome. THAT is my final decision. Please and thank you.

  83. Aw, today is definitely your day. 🙂 People around here tend to “pay it forward,” too. It is amazing how small gestures can make a person’s day.

If there are any left, I would absolutely love to have Let’s Pretend This Never Happened. 🙂

  84. I’d love either! And I LOVE that you guys are spreading the joy of giving to others!!!! Thanks for the smile, Jenny! Happy… Tuesday!

  85. Let’s pretend this never happened! A lady ahead of me in line helped me with groceries and took care of my very grumpy child once. And it kept me sane and made me smile when I just wanted to hide in bed all day.

  86. Furiously Happy, please. And now I will go do something nice for someone else. We could theoretically fix the entire world like this!!

  87. I would be happy with either, but either way I will have them both if not through this then by my own doing, so that’s a win win in my book circularly speaking. I’m just glad to read whatever you write, its like therapy for me.

  88. I love how a random act of kindness can snowball like that and change your whole day. I would be greatful to receive either…I would love to pass them along to a friend who I think would benefit from your wisdom. 💜💜💜

  89. I have audio and book for let’s pretend. Would love the audio for furiously happy!

  90. I would love a copy of Furiously Happy! I read so much of it out loud to my husband I’d practically have an audio of it if I had only been running a recording device.

  91. I would love a copy of Furiously Happy. (I’m currently reading on Let’s Pretend in non-audiobook form.)

  92. Would love to hear your voice reading…well, pretty much anything! Have a great day, Jenny!

  93. I would love either, but I haven’t read Lets Pretend in awhile, so I would love that one! It will a perfect time to force my husband to finally experience your hilarious stories. I think he is sick of me making him listen while I read excerpts from your books out loud. Mostly because I can barely get through them with a laughing.

  94. Let’s Pretend This Never Happened–I wanna hear the outtakes! 🙂

  95. Yes please!! You make my head hurt and me laugh until I cry!! Would love either! Or both! 😬

  96. I would love LJPTNH, Jenny, for my daughter Sara who has to ride the BART train every day to work to San Francisco. She has to stand for an hour all the way next to smelly strangers. She has the best laught on the planet and those smelly people need to hear it!
    Thanks! Deni.

  97. Me, me!!! Pooh! Pick me!!! I want furiously happy, it changed my life!!!!

  98. Thanks for the reminders that people really are good. If I happen to be chosen, I will let you choose. I love both books & would love either in audio-format. 🙂

  99. Hi! I want a copy and will take either! Because I just finished college (many years later) and need something to occupy my time!

  100. I would love a copy of Let’s Pretend this Never Happened (already have Furiously Happy!!).
I am sick as a dawg and really need to go home. Can you write me a note please?

  101. I love doing that at the drive through. It makes me feel good to (hopefully) brighten someone’s day. I try to do it every couple months.

I’d love to listen to Furiously Happy. Audiobooks are the only way I have time to read these days.

  102. I would LOVE either one! It’s been longer since Let’s Pretend, though, so let’s say that one.

  103. I want let’s pretend this never happened. It would make me furiously happy. Honestly either one would make my day.

  104. I found a cat today that is an amazing little guy. I am trying to find a home for him as I am horribly allergic, but I couldn’t leave him. He is so gorgeous and sweet. I appreciate the love he gave me that currently feels as if crushing my lungs.

  105. Let’s Pretend made me laugh so hard I cried. And then feels so hard I cried. I’d love to hear Jenny read it.

  106. Oh please please please…I want Furiously Happy! Which of course I would be if I got a copy of Furiously Happy because I know you don’t want me to be Furiously sad or sad in any other way I’m pretty sure. Thanks Jenny! I heart you.

  107. I would LOVE a Let’s Pretend audio book! So glad that you had such a happy morning – those can be hard to come by, and it is so great when they happen.

  108. If there are any left, I’d totally love Let’s Pretend This Never Happened, as I already have Furiously Happy. 🙂 If there aren’t, no worries whatsoever. 🙂

  109. I’d love Furiously Happy! I have a friend who I feel like really needs it right now.

  110. I would love a copy of Furiously Happy. About to take a 10-hour road trip with a mother-in-law and toddler. This will get me through!

  111. EEP! I would LOOOOVEEEEE Let’s Pretend This Never Happened in audiobook!

  112. Yes Please! I would love Furiously Happy and now I need to go give something away or offer some other act of kindness to stay in the circleness of it all! xo ~ Susan

  113. I would love a copy of whatever you have to give away as a gift for my wife. We saw you in Toronto and it would be super awesome to have a permanent source of extra funny to share with each other.

Also, I’ve totally had that happen too. It really does make your whole day better. The cashier said I was the fifteenth person to get paid for in the line. I don’t know how long it kept up after me but I hope it was lots!

  114. Furiously Happy! Because I am Furiously Happy that you are doing this!

  115. Boy, Jenny, I was up all last night in the grip of a terror/depression chokehold so tight that I didn’t realize it could be felt by daughter in her room across the hall. I think I might not just want, but actually need “Furiously Happy” because I need something and the wine is no longer doing it and I can’t afford a therapist.
I’m glad that being the recipient of someone’s generosity and being able to give someone else that gift, too, helped you. I’ll do some paying it forward on a bridge toll today.

  116. I’d love “Let’s Pretend This Never Happened”! I’ve been a lurker on here for too long, and I thought I’d finally come out from behind the curtain! ^_^

  117. I love your book, “Furiously Happy,” but I haven’t read the first one yet, “Let’s Pretend this Never Happened,” so that’s the one I would choose. I think your courage and your nuttiness have enriched the lives of so many people, mine included. I struggle, I think everyone does, but my struggles are flyspecks compared to yours, and you have helped me get in touch with gratitude for my life just the way it is, warts and all.

  118. I’d love Let’s Pretend This Never Happened, please! Love, love, LOVE that one!

  119. I would love either one tbh 🙂 both are on my to-read-whenever-i-can-sit-quietly list…alas, my two tiny humans usually have other plans for my time…

  120. I would love either, but maybe Let’s Pretend This Never Happened would be the best place to start. I’m going on a long (long, long, like several weeks long) road trip with my husband and I really want him to hear this. Now I wanna buy somebody breakfast.

  121. I already have the audio books on my phone, so I don’t need a freebie. 🙂

I love listening to them at work when I’m blue. You did SUCH a great job with both of them. I’m so happy you won that award.

You have also won the “People Jenny Thinks Totally Kick Ass Award” that I give out. That would be me Jenny, not you Jenny. Although feel free to give one to yourself from yourself as well. There is no prize money or statue or anything. Just warm fuzzies. Embrace the warm fuzzies! EMBRACE THEM!!

  122. I’ve been trying to read Let’s Pretend (I just found you recently, so I’m behind) since I had a baby 8 months ago. I’m about 10 pages on LOL Audiobook woukd be awesome!

  123. I would love either in audiobook form! Of course, I already have them both in hardcover…It would be perfect for listening to when I’m down, or sewing, or driving, or…

  124. Oh now ur making my head hurt trying to choose just one, haha! Jk…kinda! I love both and would be furiously happy with either so surprise me, thanks! 😜

  125. I already own both, but I’d love to have either to give to my friend Lucy, who has just been through masses of stuff & could use cheering up.

  126. Would love EITHER, as I’m not so selfish as to demand one over the other. It’s like picking your favorite kid in front of “the other one.” And I’m a BIG believer in paying it forward. I try to do one random act of kindness a day if I can.

  127. I’LL take either book, but would prefer Furiously Happy. I haven’t bern able to get your books for my own yet. Other priorities and not enough cash. sigh

  128. You have made me laugh harder than I thought possible. My kids now think I am weird and a tiny bit cool because of you and your wonderful “Furiously Happy!”. I would much appreciate “Let’s pretend this never happened”

  129. UGH, I have anxiety about making this choice. What if I choose badly, what if once I get one, I wish I had the other (I have both in hardcover, so that doesn’t help). Let’s go with… gahhhhhhh. “Let’s Pretend This Never Happened”

  130. Furiously Happy. It definitely helped me to get help when it came to dealing with my anxiety and depression.

  131. I loved listening to Furiously Happy. I haven’t read Let’s Pretend so I’d love to get that one! Your books make me happy.

  132. I would love a copy of “Let’s Pretend it Never Happened” to give to my sister. I listened to it and LOVED it. By relating so much to things you wrote about, you helped make me feel better about myself and I know it will do the same for her. I was going to buy her the book but it is soooo much better to hear it in your voice.

  133. You are awesome! I would love a copy of you reading “Furiously Happy” to me! (I’ve only heard it in my own head/voice.) Congratulations on your Audie!

  134. I’ve been trying to read Let’s Pretend since I had a baby 8 months ago. I’m about 10 pages in LOL Audiobook would be awesome!

  135. Let’s Pretend It Never Happened! I remember when I first got it, I read the bit about your cat being a rapist passing notes under the bathroom door out loud to my mom, and we were both laughing so hard we had tears streaming down/ couldn’t breath. Which probably wasn’t super safe, since she was driving at the time.

  136. Hi Jenny,
What a great story!!! Kindness really rocks!! If you still have any I would love one! If not I’m just happy for all who received one! The art of asking (@amandapalmer) and the art of giving!! Kindness!
    Have a great day everyone!
    Peace,
    Doreen

  137. I had that happen too – me and my now ex were trying to get some dinner and our card came up declined – awesome dude behind us paid for our meal. We cried the whole way home…

Anyway, if it’s even possible, I’d be interested in Let’s Pretend…

Puppy kisses and sloth hugs for everyone!

  138. The greedy part of me immediately said “BOTH, please.” Then, I heard my mom yelling about manners in my head, so if I had to choose one, it would be Furiously Happy. Please. 🙂

  139. I have them both and they’re awesome! I love it when you read me bedtime stories Jenny. It helps so much with the insomnia.

  140. How does the person ahead of you know how to pay? Are these psychic peeps or aliens trying to teach us the concept of generosity? Also I have both books but would really love to hear either in your voice. I found a Beyonce watering can & gave it to my daughter. She totally got it immediately even without the Knock Knock sign.

  141. I need Furiously Happy. I would proceed to explain why in full detail but let’s just say I do. I DO. A LOT. THANKS.

  142. I alright I am like comment 173 and I doubt that I will get picked but I would love Furiously Happy. I have not had time to read it lately as there has been so many issues as of late but I would love to be able to listen to it as I drive around avoiding life.

  143. I’d love Let’s Pretend This Never Happened. Thank you for sharing the fun! I also never could quite wrap my head around paying for the person behind you. People then feel obligated to pay for the person behind them, and if they don’t, they get poo pooed on the town’s Facebook page (yeah, in my town anyway). It’s supposed to be a gesture to help the person behind you. Not to give them an obligation. Right? It’s pretty rude to force obligations on others.

  144. I loved Let’s Pretend This Never Happened because it sounded eerily like my own childhood and it made me feel… Well, not “normal” but certainly less alone in my weirdness. No one has ever paid for my drive thru, but I have paid for a few peoples groceries when they were obviously struggling for that last few bucks at the checkout. It’s rough out there, you do whatcha can.

  145. I would love “Let’s Pretend This Never Happened”! Nothing like freaking out strangers by laughing hysterically in my car at stoplights.

  146. I would love either one! On a related note, my kids’ school district has launched a one billion acts of kindness initiative and it’s little things like that which spread kindness exponentially. I love it! Kindness1billion.org

  147. I’d love Furiously Happy! I’ll pay it forward by clearing out a bookshelf to send to friends.

  148. I would love Furiously Happy. I had to give the book back to the library . The library refused to believe I returned it. I had to go in and show them that it was in fact there on the shelf. I knew it was the one I had just read, because it had never been read before and I kept it nice and new for the next readers😀

  149. Day…made! I’ll take either. I’ve read them both but would love to pass along!

  150. That breakfast thing happened to me a few weeks ago and it was such a nice thing to buy the breakfast of the person behind me. I’d be happy with either book but I think I’ll choose Furiously Happy! And thanks for all that you do for all of us. I hope you know what an impact you’ve had on people’s lives, not just the folks in a drive thru line.

  151. ohhh I would love Let’s Pretend. I want to laugh myself silly. 🙂

  152. Either one would be a treat and then some! Maybe I’ll try to do something nice for a stranger today too! ( or maybe not, we’ll see…)

  153. This makes me want to go to Starbucks and buy a gift card and leave it to pay for the next however many people in line. Love doing stuff like that! And I’d also love a copy of Let’s Pretend This Never Happened 🙂

  154. I’m now inspired to initiate a surprise kindness when I can this week. If you have any left, I would love to pass either one along to my sisters. One sis only listens to books and I can’t seem to get her to read the paper versions I’ve shared. Have a wonderful week! This is so generous of you!

  155. It’d be awesome to own Let’s Pretend This Never Happened (Almost wrote the title on all caps which seemed… weirdly appropriate)

  156. I sometimes get the impulse to pay for the person behind me in the drive thru and it can really make my day when I do it. I would love to hear “Furiously Happy”.

  157. I used to randomly pay for the car behind me when I crossed the bridge in to DE but now I have EZPass. Buying coffee or breakfast is now on my list to pay it forward. I’d like an audiobook too because listening to happy things REALLY help with driving in Jersey.

  158. I love days like that!
I would like “Let’s Pretend This Never Happened”.

How about doing the Amazon Wish List for books paying it forward? That was AWESOME! I bought a lot and my daughter received many as well.

  159. I want both, but if I have to choose it’s Furiously Happy. And if I get it, I’ll buy breakfast for the guy behind me!

  160. I would like Furiously Happy!! It helped me so much with my own struggle and helped my family understand me better too!!

  161. I’d love to read them! What a special treat it would be. You’ve inspired me to do something unexpected for someone today. Bless you heart.

  162. I love your writing. I’d be excited for either book. I have a copy of Furiously Happy for myself already and I want my own copy of the other. But I’d love to give a copy of Furiously Happy to a good friend who is having a hard time dealing with her issues right now. I think it’d brighten her day and hopefully make her smile again.

  163. Just finished reading Furiously Happy, but I would love an audio copy of Let’s Pretend This Never Happened 🙂 it is the first book I have ever laughed out loud reading. Thanks for your comedy and your honesty. You inspire me to find a sense of humour in the places where it feels like there isn’t room for one <3

  164. I once listened to all of Let’s Pretend This Never Happened read aloud by my kindle in a firetower in California. I’d like to hear it read more professionally than that tiny robot that lives in my electrical book.

  165. Oh! I would love either one. I love both books, and the audiobook would just give my dog another reason to wonder about her human… not that she doesn’t already… also she can’t read…

  166. Furiously Happy, pretty please! My family would love having something new to listen to in the car other than Let’s Pretend This Never Happened 😉

  167. I would love let’s pretend this never happened and i would share it around for sure. Thanks for all the sharing you do. You make my life better.

  168. I would love a copy of “Furiously Happy” since I haven’t been able to work it in the budget yet. If I’m lucky enough to be chosen (and you don’t mind), I’d also like to share it with my neighbor. She suffers from severe depression and anxiety and is an avid reader of your blog too. Reading about how you deal with the bad days has really helped me to be more helpful to her. Thank you for that. She deserves all the awesomeness. 🙂

  169. I would like one donated to Sno-Isle library so lots of people can love them too.

  170. I’d LOVE a copy of Let’s Pretend!!! It would be awesome for road trips home to see my crazy fam!

  171. Furiously Happy!! I’ve been wanting it since forever but haven’t been able to justify the extra money towards my want vs. Kids needs.

  172. I need Furiously Happy. I would proceed to explain why in full detail but let’s just say I do. I DO. A LOT. THANKS.

  173. Love your quirky irreverence..Would love Furiously Happy. That way I won’t have to wait for Christmas… Waiting is not what I do best…

  174. Oh, I absolutely want one! Audiobooks of books I’ve read is how I fall asleep.

  175. Would love love love Furiously Happy!
Excellent paying it forward example; just hope it carried on for the rest of the queue!

  176. I’m sure furiously happy would help on a day when I’m having trouble getting out of bed. Thank you.

  177. I would love either!
Last new year’s day, someone paid for my coffee, so I did the same for the car (which happened to be a police car) behind me. Went on my way and a short time later, saw flashing lights in my rear view. I was silently cursing my luck that I was getting pulled over, since I’d just done a nice thing and thought the world should reciprocate. Just as I was preparing to defend myself to the cop, he let me know that he was the one I’d bought coffee for and he just wanted to thank me. Oops!

  178. I really want “Let’s Pretend This Never Happened.” I sent both your books to my Mom for Mother’s Day, and to my sister for Christmas. I even gave my copy of “Let’s Pretend” away at my Unitarian Universalist book exchange Sunday! My High School daughter has begun reading Furiously Happy and I found myself re-reading the chapter on doing your own audiobook. I am dying to hear you take Neil Gaiman’s advice and “Pretend Your Good At It.” One of my favorite mantras is “The world belongs to those who show up – so show up!” Thanks for “Showing Up” in so many lives! -Amy Z

  179. I am a crazy person who still buys CDs and would love a copy of Let’s Pretend This Never Happened, since buying a CD copy now is prohibitively expensive 🙁 I already have Furiously Happy since I didn’t want to make the same mistake twice!

  180. I would LOVE a copy of Furiously Happy. I’ve read it but haven’t listened to it, like I have Let’s Pretend this Never Happened. It has helped me so much in approaching my own anxiety, and I know hearing it in your own voice would just give it even more meaning (and personality!). 🙂

  181. I’d love Let’s Pretend. I gave my hook to a friend and haven’t gotten around to re-buying it.

  182. I would be delighted to get a copy of either and listen to it on my upcoming road trip!

  183. I’d love a copy of furiously happy. I haven’t been able to afford to buy the book yet but it’s at the top of the list of things I will get when I have extra money!!!

  184. I would love “Let’s Pretend This Never Happened”…and if I do happen to win (my luck in random drawings is pretty terrible), I will buy the book for someone else. 🙂

  185. Reading Furiously happy now and loving it, but I haven’t read Let’s Pretend This Never happened. I’d love an audio copy to listen to as I work on painting my new house!

  186. Furiously Happy PLEASE! 🙂

I like buying coffee for the person behind me.. The only downside is that I never get to see their smile. I love the comment above about the cop who pulled her over to say thanks!

  187. I would like a copy of “Let’s Pretend This Never Happened”. I already have a copy of “Furiosly Happy”. Thank you for all you do!

  188. I would LOVE to have a copy of Furiously Happy if there are any left!

  189. Random acts of kindness rock. Like seriously, coffee snorting out your nose awesomeness. Oh wait, that would probably hurt and maybe burn a little to have coffee blow out your nose. I digress… I’d be happy to have “let’s pretend” on audio so I can hear you tell about the turkey at school. I promise to laugh so hard that coffee shoots out my nose and I can report back on the pain level

  190. Furiously Happy. I keep getting it from the library, but since I read so slowly and get interrupted all the time, I’ve never finished it. I do have a 40 min commute every day and I’m sure it would make my commute much more enjoyable.

  191. Furiously Happy. I think my husband would enjoy it thoroughly on our next road trip!

  192. I’d love Lets Pretend This Never Happened! I’ve read it four times now but I think it’s missing your voice to really make everything as bold as it should be. Love it and you! Paying forward in the drive thru is one of my favorite things to do, particularly in the morning. I feel like if I can help start someone’s day off a little better, then why not? Maybe it’ll save one more relationship, prevent one more accident or an angry email or text. Or maybe just make someone’s day a little better. It’s all a win.

  193. I wanted to buy several copies of “Lets Pretend” for friends but Amazon said “not available” and no EBay either. Please send me one copy and the good news that I can buy some more before Christmas, at least. Love you! Bought my own ‘Beyonce’ after your experience. She is smaller than yours and hangs out in my kitchen between the fruit bowl and an erratic toaster oven. Under your influence, I recently added a serious black metal alligator to my inanimate animals collection. It is settled in the back yard and hopefully scares squirrels who make a mess of the garden and raccoons who come to eat the squirrels and menace the indoor cats through the glass door.

  194. I would love a copy of Furiously Happy! It has really inspired me to embrace the uniqueness of my brain and quirky way it thinks. It is a wonderful book that made me feel a little less lonely when the straight jacket of depression and/or anxiety slips over me. Regardless, I want to thank you for sharing your story and inspiring others to be furiously happy 🙂

  195. I haven’t read furiously happy yet so I’d love that one. Thanks!!!

  196. I would love let’s pretend on audio! The I would really look odd driving down the road!

  197. I teach challenged elementary studwnts during. The day and adulta at night. I owned both of those books more than once…and passed them on to others. If you could spare a copy of “Let’s Pretend This Never Happened,” I would have another copy to share when it seems appropriate. Thank you so much for all you do!

  198. I’d love Furiously Happy! I keep loaning my 2 (hard) copies out to folks who need to hear your message. So now, I need to hear the message straight from you. 🙂

  199. Furiously happy since that describes my last few weeks at the high school where I teach. I’m currently not “feeling the love”, but your book would be the equivalent of paying for my drive-thru experience.

  200. Either would completely make my day! But “Let’s Pretend” is my favorite.

  201. I want Furiously Happy…so bad…I have been meaning to get it and just haven’t yet…please. Pick me Pick me..ok I know that is annoying…but Pick me! 🙂

  202. I’d love to hear LET’S PRETEND THIS NEVER HAPPENED. 😃 I love that your morning was “made” by whomever paid for your breakfast, and then you paid for the breakfast of the people behind you. My husband LET us go to get a FANCY coffee last Saturday and was bitching about the price when I said to leave a tip. I explained how people spread the love there, and he should just shut the fuck up and spread love and kindness too. Then I added how people often buy drinks for people behind them and they pass along the favor and it’s a big circle of love. He called it a circle of bullshit and shook his head. So I’m glad that your Breakfast Kindness spread to you and now you’re spreading more live with audio book giveaways. I’ve NEVER listened to an audio book because I have a disorder that makes me dizzy and probably kind of deadly, so luckily I only have to drive a mile to work and a mile home each day. I’ve akways wondered how could I ever listen to a book in my car. But I think I can listen to one while mowing the yard or something! And I recommended LET’S PRETEND to a friend who was dealing with a lot of shit and she thanked me for the AMAZING “listen” and said she laughed maniacally and therapeutically and that you and I basically, together, saved her life. So in the spirit of that strange circle of weirdness where we decide Let’s All Do Nice Shit, cheers to you, Jenny, for always making us laugh and for spreading the love. Or as my husband would say, spreading the bullshit. Yaaaassssss!

  203. i would love to read furiously happy as I am not at the moment <3

  204. How can you expect us to choose??? They are both so fantastic. I suppose if I must, I must. Let’s Pretend This Never Happened.

  205. I have neither Furiously Happy or Let’s Pretend This Never Happened, so either one would be nice.

  206. Furiously Happy because it makes me furiously happy when I read it and I’m sure I’ll LOL while walking along the bay and the fish men will give me more weird looks that I already get when I do yoga on the sand and then fall over.

Muah! Thanks for all your stories they brighten my day. Every so often I start the pay for people’s coffee chain at dunkin donuts and it’s really sweet when I hear that it continued for a few cars.

  207. I’d love to hear Let’s Pretend This Never Happened!! (And my autocorrect word suggestions want that, too, apparently, as I only typed in the first couple letters of each word in the title, and it “suggested” the right ones!! It’s meant to be!😜)

  208. I don’t need a book 🙂 I just wanted to tell you that I was talking about you in my taxidermy class last weekend! BTW: I started taking taxidermy classes, and that’s partly due to you. It makes me furiously happy 🙂

  209. I can’t decide because I love them both so much! …Furiously Happy? I’d be happy with either, really. You’re my favorite author whom I had to stop reading in public because I couldn’t hold in the laughter anymore and didn’t want to be stared at.

  210. Pick me! Pick me! I’ll read it to my 5′ metal cock when I find him. That post made my day. I haven’t laughed so hard in YEARS.

  211. I’d love to have either so I could listen, and they pass it along to someone else who needs a good pick-me-up. 🙂 Thanks for your consideration!

  212. I’ve been wanting the audio version of Let’s Pretend This Never Happened since it came out! Also paying for the person behind you is an awesome thing to do and I’m going to try to remember to do that next time I get the chance. You inspire generosity, Jenny. 🙂

  213. I’d love a copy of Furiously Happy, though I’d be overjoyed to get either one, Thank you, Jenny!

  214. I just finished Furiously Happy and it made my commute fantastic!! I would LOOOVE Let’s Pretend This Never Happened!!!! Just the fact you are doing this for fans has made my day. Thank you!! Btw, I always buy for people behind me in drive thrus… Except if there are two windows where you pay at the first and get the order at the second… I did that once and had to sit there waiting for my order while the person got the news behind me and I had a panic attack:(. Never again, I prefer giving drive by, anonymous gifts:)!!

  215. I would love to have either one. I’m glad a stranger made your day better, that’s fabulous!

  216. Tough choice. They are both awesome. I think I will choose Let’s Pretend This Never Happened.

  217. Oh my gosh I would love furiously happy! I read some of your first book to my teenage daughter who lives it so much she claimed it for a while and read it twice. We have shared your tales of Beyoncé and capernicous all over our little town of Fall Creek, WI. I am pretty sure half of this years senior class will be owners of odd stuffed critters and giant metal barnyard animals! You are awesome!!

  218. I read “Let’s Pretend This Never Happened” and would love a copy of “Furiously Happy” !

  219. I would love Lets Pretend this Never Happened for an upcoming road trip!

  220. Let’s Pretend This Never Happened, because I was inspired by what you went through to record “your voice” in your audio book 🙂 I loved going to your book signings and reading 🙂

  221. I’d love an audio copy of Furiously Happy! I drive all day long for work and never have time to read. I loved Let’s pretend it never happened…read it on a plane and people were really looking at me as I laughed out loud numerous times..

  222. EIther – but Furiously Happy is my preference. Or maybe Let’s Pretend is my preference. This decision is too stressful. Just choose for me, please. 🙂

  223. either. i love books read by the author. if i have to pick, furiously happy since a certain small person has removed most of my reading time so the hardcover has just been sitting on the bookshelf staring at me! 🙂

  224. I already have Furiously Happy on CD, but I’d LOVE Lets Pretend! Breakfast burritos for my men and whisky for my horses!

  225. I would love Let’s Pretend this Never Happened. It makes me laugh like Chewbecca mom and gets me through tough days.

  226. I want someone else to receive the audio books because I already have the paper editions and both made me furiously happy so let’s pretend this comment never happened.

  227. I actually don’t need the books, I already have them, but if you pick me, I’ll ask that you give a book to the person right below me. 🙂

  228. I need a copy of Let’s Pretend This Never Happened!im an avid reader and that was the first book my husband gave me to read. You’re hilarious and that book has a very special place in my heart!

  229. I would LOVE to have either book – they both fill me with glee and make me happy. Thanks!

  230. I was at Costco the other day and the teller closed the till after me, then turned and looked at me very seriously and said: “Do you want to pay for purchase of the person behind you in line?” Strangely, that also made my day! If you have copies of either still left (doubtful!) I’d love one. 🙂

  231. I’ve had that happen at Starbucks and it always makes my whole day.

I’d love Furiously Happy. And in exchange I’d happily send you a video of my 3.5 year old reading Snuggle Puppy. 😊

  232. I want Let’s Pretend this Never Happened. I have Furiously Happy!! Please and thank you !

  233. Inspired by this, I just bought someone’s coffee. I have been wanting to do this for so long but my brain doesn’t remember anything important these days! I think the lady at the counter was more moved by this then the dude…I made her promise to be secret. If I want fan fair i’d go to parade.

No entry, I just love you and our fabulously broken tribe!!!!

  234. Based on your many followers, I suspect all copies are gone, but I would love a copy of Let’s Pretend This Never Happened. Hope your day continues to be amazing.

  235. I’d love Furiously Happy! We have a long road trip coming up and it will make the time go fast!

  236. I would love a copy of Furiously Happy. I would list to it at my desk at work. When I start laughing out loud, my coworkers will start to wonder if I’m even weirder than they already thought. :p

  237. I want Let’s Pretend this Never Happened. I have Furiously Happy!! Please and thank you !

  238. I’ve done that for people. It’s really fun. I’ve also had it happen to me. Random acts of kindness really make a difference!

    I’d love Furiously Happy!

  239. Either one. I keep my hard copies of your books in plain sight partly as reminders to ASK FOR HELP when I can’t beat my illnesses alone. Related: I have an appointment with my doctor next week and I AM GOING TO FEEL BETTER. I am. Because I deserve it and nice people are going to help me.

  240. I want Lets Pretend This Never Happened-my all time favorite book!! Love you!

  241. I’d love a copy of ‘Let’s Pretend This Never Happened’, please. I’ve read ‘Furiously Happy’ and lthought it was brilliantly funny! xx

  242. I would love Furiously Happy for my sister. She isn’t a big reader but last winter when she was here I read her parts of both books and she loved them. T

  243. I would love either book! Both of your books are fantastic and they helped inspire me to keep writing about my own mental health. So regardless of it you have any audio books left. Thank you for that 🙂

  244. I would happily take either one…I have just the friend who needs to have your books!! <3

  245. I mean, I guess I could use a reason to be happy, so if I get one, cool. If not, that means someone else got to enjoy it, so also cool.

  246. I would LOOOOVE Let’s Pretend this Never Happened! Can’t get enough of your book readings!!! Totally ready to laugh so hard I pee myself ^.^

  247. I’d love either! But if I had to pick, furiously happy! Thanks Jenny.

  248. I would love furiously happy 😊 It’s really awesome how a complete stranger can inspire you to be great!

  249. I would be so furiously happy to receive the audio book of Furiously Happy. I’ve heard there are like a guzillion furiously funny asides in the audio book. Pretty please…with amaretto on top. Please and thank you 🙂

  250. Furiously Happy, please. I’d like to hear you reading it without you furiously laughing, because I wouldn’t be able to. Thanks for paying it forward with the food and the audio books!

  251. I would love a copy of Furiously Happy! I haven’t read it yet, and I loved Let’s Pretend This Never Happened so very much. ❤️

  252. You are are so giving to others. Thank you for loving your readers as much as we love you. You make the world a better place! Also if there are any audio books left I’ll take either one; I love both books. Then I promise to continue to pay it forward so that hopefully one day a gift will come back to you .

  253. I’d love Furiously Happy, I had so much fun listening to your first book on audio!

  254. I’ve read — and loved — them both but I would love to listen to them! I live 20 minutes from town so I get lots of listening in when I’m driving. Pick me!! Also, one day I just felt the need to pay for the person behind me at the Starbucks drive-thru. My heart was happy all day.

  255. I love, love them both!! They are both tremendous! Thanks for paying it forward!!

  256. I would love a copy of Let’s Pretend This Never Happened.

And that happened to me once, too. It was a police officer that randomly paid for my stuff, so I paid for the person behind me, and it really made my whole morning brighter. Love when things like that happen.

  257. I want furiously happy! Never had an audio book so having your first book be the first would be amazeballs!

  258. I would love Furiously Happy! It’s so nice to be the recipient of a little gift.

  259. I already have them both, so I’m not requesting an audiobook.

I just wanted to say that listening to your narration helps me constantly. I use your voice to ward off impending public panic attacks, to keep me company when I travel (Rory is my companion animal, apparently), when I can’t fall asleep at night, when things are stupid and I need cheering up. Oh, and on road trips when I need to rest my throat from all the caterwauling. (Also, apparently, the word isn’t “catterwhaling,” which I now realize is just an imaginary activity I created where you go catfishing, but on a much larger scale.)

I wish your words had been available to me when I was younger, along with the knowledge that there are so, so many of us who read your words and finally feel “gotten.”

Right now, I’m really excited that some of y’all who don’t have these audiobooks in your lives are about to get them. They are packed with love. And $25 bills. 😉

  260. I would be thrilled to have LPTNH on audio! I have the hardcover, but audio would be great for long car trips. 🐙

  261. Let’s pretend this never happened! I love paying it forward. You are amazing!

  262. I used to work at Starbucks and I would love when people started paying for each others drinks. We had one person leave $100 to pay for whoever’s drinks, and most people would actually still pay for theirs so others could be treated as well. It’s about the little things that restore your faith in humanity. 🙂

I actually JUST got Furiously Happy to read, so I’d love the audiobook to listen along with while I read.

  263. I would love to have either book! Road trip this summer…I always need audio books – and especially yours that make me laugh!!!

  264. I would love Furiously Happy, I already own Lets pretend in both print and audio book so this would be a nice addition!

  265. I would love an audio of Let’s pretend this never happened. You are amazing!

  266. Someone once paid for my coffee in the drive-thru and it made me so happy I’ve started doing it every once in awhile (usually if I’m having a bad day myself). It also seems to make the baristas really happy, so bonus! I don’t worry about what the car behind me ordered – I just make sure it’s a day I’m willing to shell out a little more money than I expect to (I haven’t had any “the car behind me ordered for the office” problems yet and I’ve been doing this for several years).

For the person who asked how it works: usually I just tell the cashier that I want to pay for the car behind me, but sometimes (especially around Christmas) I buy gift cards and leave them with the baristas with instructions to use them for other customers until the money runs out.

  267. Furiously Happy!! I have hard copy and audio of other and I absolutely love them…and you!!

  268. I would love a copy of Furiously Happy! And the pay it forward thing is always awesome! Be kind!

  269. Dear Jen…I would love for you to give a copy of Furiously Happy to my stressed out Ph.D. student daughter. I have read both your books. However, I have the kindle copies. I cannot share them with her, although I talk about them. Often. And, since she’s studying for her doctorate, she can’t afford shit. Hopefully yours. Kym

  270. Let’s Pretend This Never Happened – my favorite book ever, and one I’ve gifted to others!

  271. I would love Let’s Pretend This Never Happened. I’ve never laughed so hard while reading a cook and could really use the pick me up right now.

  272. Just to clarify, Jenny: I just wanted to comment on the pay-it-forward thing, not asking for an audio book. 🙂

  273. I have to choose???

I guess I would go with Let’s Pretend This Never Happened, because it’s the first one, and starting from the beginning is always nice.

Just like you. Just not in a orderly “we’ll start from the top” kind of way. 🙂

  274. Please, please, please! I’d love a copy of Lets Pretend This Never Happened. I can’t find one anywhere to buy. I’ll actually quite hiply pay for it, or gift something else to someone else.

  275. Can I please have one of Let’s Pretend This Never Happened? I love that book so much

  276. It’s like Sophie’s Choice – I can’t decide! Either – I love them both and would be ecstatic with either.

  277. Furiously Happy! I laughed so hard when I read the book that I had to stop reading it before bed because I couldn’t sleep afterward. It’s my go-to when I’m feeling low. FH on a road trip!? HAHAHAHA! Uh-oh. Hope I don’t drive off the road.

  278. I’d love to have Fusiously Happy (I own the audible) to give to someone I know needs to hear your sense of humor, while he battles with his mental disorder (my brother). We all need to laugh and I think your audio will help him understand that he’s not alone.

  279. Very sure I’m too late but Let’s Pretend this never happened. Perfect for being on the road this summer

  280. Fuirously Happy so my hubs can listen to it with me while commuting!!! I had to read “Let’s pretend this never happened” to him and still enjoyed it through my car sickness and all!

  281. I would LOVE to have either, but I feel like I should start with Lets Pretend This Never Happened.

Next time I’m in the drive through, I’m going to Pay It Forward! 😀

  282. If you still have Furiously Happy, it would make my day to hear a copy of the audio book went to a person who is struggling and needs to laugh until she cries.

  283. I loaned out my copy of Let’s Pretend This Never Happened and never got it back, so I would love that one! Thank you

    Anna Otto

  284. i would love furiously happy, but i’m just happy your having a good day. 🙂

  285. I loved Furiously Happy and would be thrilled to hear it in your own voice!

  286. I loaned out my copy of Let’s Pretend This Never Happened and never got it back, so I would love that one! Thank you

    Anna Otto

  287. I would love Let’s Pretend This Never Happened! I have never laughed so hard at a book before in my life and I buy it for all of my friends who need to laugh. Lately, I’ve needed a reason to laugh and it never lets me down. Thank you for that!

  288. What is this? Sophie’s Choice? Furiously Happy please. Sorry Let’s Pretend. I still love you too.

  289. I would love either one! I’ve been seeing the doctor a lot lately, and that would really brighten my stays in the waiting room. Might also get me shushed for giggling!

  290. I would love a copy of “Let’s Pretend this never happened”!!!
I’ve read it a few times, but would love to hear you tell your stories! 🙂

  291. I would love a copy if you still have one! Audio books are often easier for me to understand. The print on regular books is so small that I often have a hard time reading physical books.
Anyways, I’d be delighted to get a copy if one is still available. 🙂

  292. I would be glad to have a copy of “Let’s Pretend This Never Happened.” Your courage helped me find my own, and my life is better for it. Thank you.

  293. I’ve purchased both but not read either. I can’t concentrate that much! I suck.

  294. I’d love to win Let’s Pretend this Never Happened! Paying it forward is so awesome!

  295. I love when I end up in a pay-it-forward loop! I never think to start them, so thank you random wonderful people in the universe who do!
I would also love Furiously Happy- though I wouldn’t say no to Let’s Pretend either! 😀

  296. Probably too late but either of them their both are great, congratulations and thank you for being so generous with this and with sharing your life with us

  297. I would love “Furiously Happy” ! It gave me the inspiration to really give my all to work on myself, when up until nown, I felt was a hopeless cause. Thank you Jenny!

  298. I would love a copy of Let’s Pretend This Never Happened. I left my hardback copy on the table and my dog ate it. I’ve tried to pretend it never happened, but….

  299. Oh, Wow! I would love Let’s Pretend This Never Happened. I laughed until I cried many times reading it, and would love to have an audio book copy. 🙂

  300. I would loooove Let’s Pretend this Never Happened. That book saved me during one of the hardest times in my life. My sister in law bought it for me, and I was sooo very lucky. I couldn’t have made it through that experience without it! Thank you for being such an amazing writer! You inspire sooo many people! You are such a special woman!

  301. I would love a copy of either – not for me, but for a friend. I bought Furiously Happy when I was at the darkest point of the worst depressive episode of my life…so far? Took me two weeks to find the energy to read it (and I really wanted to read it). A few months later I learned that a friend was struggling with some of the same issues I had/have been facing, so I gifted my copy to her. It felt great to do that for her, and I’d love to do the same for another friend.

  302. I would love to have Let’s Pretend This Never Happened.

I was also forwarded a kindness when someone paid my order in a drive through, one day. It prompted me to pay for the next 2 orders behind me that day and buy breakfast for a man who was in much need, the next day. Best way to be selfish is to get the high from giving to others. 💖

  303. I would love a copy of ferociously happy please! The book made me laugh and cry and a audio copy for my wife to have on the way to work is amazing!

  304. Hi Jenny,

I don’t want to put you through the effort of sending a CD to London, but I would have been very happy with either!

I read Let’s Pretend the week it came out, and I’m working through Furiously Happy now, although I’ve got five books on the go which is slowing everything down a bit. I’m actually surprised I don’t have either on audible already… I’d better go hunting!

You’re amazing and an inspiration to a fellow sufferer of things and stuff that aren’t worth explaining, they just suck.

    David

  305. I already have both on audiobook and listen to them circularly in my car on the way to and from work or to my therapists or to my psychiatrist or when I’m walking or when I’m anxious or when I’m not anxious (wait, I don’t think that ever happens…scratch that one) or when I’m sad or when I just need a dose of Jennyness. Glad random acts of kindness come to you as you perform so many for others. 🙂

  306. I’ve always wanted to try an audio book, but always thought they would put me to sleep. I’m sure “Furiously Happy” would not put me to sleep. Just looking at his eyes crack me up every time!

  307. Let’s Pretend This Never Happened. Being in HR it has a deeply special meaning to me LOL!

  308. It’s the little things that can make or break an entire day!
I’d love a copy of Let’s Pretend This Never Happened.

  309. Dear Jenny. I hope you have a most excellent day 🙂 I would love the audio version of Let’s Pretend This Never Happened. So we can road trip together this summer

  310. I would love “Let’s Pretend”. I think our 1 year old grandson needs to listen to this on repeat so he grows up knowing his family is normally abnormal . Sadly, I didn’t think to start this when he was still in captivity, I could have gotten a nine month head start.

  311. I love you too … and Furiously Happy would make me sorta happy!!! 🙂

  312. I NEED Furiously Happy!!!! Last night I held my son hostage while I read him several excerpts from the book, seriously the squirrels pooping in the camper! He enjoyed it and didn’t complain when I finally released him to return to his video gaming. I NEED this audiobook!!

  313. I don’t want anything; I just wanted to tell you how happy I am that a complete stranger made you happy, and that you gave this gift to the next in line. Awesome!

  314. Let’s pretend this ever happened made me laugh. That’s the one for me!!!!! You are amazing!!! Thank you!!!

  315. I would LOVE to hear Furiously Happy in your voice. I missed you in Portland and would be furiously happy to own the audio version. Thanks for everything! You’ve really pulled me through some rough patches.

  316. Congrats on the Audie award!! I would love a copy of “let’s pretend this never happened!” But only if you’re reading it 😉

  317. Let’s Pretend This Never Happened. I loaned my hard copy to a friend, and I’d love to be able to listen to it on the train, laugh hysterically, and freak out the people sitting near me.

  318. I’d love a copy of Let’s Pretend This Never Happened. I recently bought the audio book of Furiously Happy, and now I need your first book on audiobook.

  319. On the off chance you will mail one to Canada – I’ll comment for Furiously Happy.

  320. Congrats on the Audie win! If you have any left I’d love Let’s Pretend This Never Happened.

  321. Let’s Pretend This Never Happened.

My boss tried listening to your book and she just didn’t get it. I had to laugh because 1) I love reading your books and 2) that helped to show my boss’s personality even more.

  322. I’ve been handing out your books like religious pamphlets. Only better and less offensive, to the people I know. I’d love the audiobooks!

  323. Your generosity is so heart warming. Booksgiving was one of my favourite days. I didn’t request any, but I had a blast buying for other people! It gave me so many happy, warm fuzzy feelings, that the next day, I did exactly what happened to you. Only it was lunch.

I bought the next person’s lunch and that began a chain reaction. By the time I left, four more people had paid it forward.

Keep doing what you do. You inspire me to be a better person. Thank you!

  324. Jenny, I would love an audiobook of either. If forced to choose, I’d pick LPTNH.

Just wanted to let you know that I referred to you the other day when describing an awesome author I am just now discovering: “If Jenny Lawson and David Sedaris had a baby, that would be Augusten Burroughs.” Of course there is a lot wrong with that sentence, so please don’t read it too literally. But hopefully you know what I mean, and I meant it as a huge compliment to AB, since I think both you and DS hung the moon.

  325. I would love Furiously Happy 🙂 I love your straight-talk-ness. Thank you for helping us all feel okay, even when we’re not.

  326. What a lovely way to start your day!

What a tough choice… I’d love Furiously Happy.

  327. Let’s Pretend This Never Happened. Pretty Please. It’s go to reading on an airplane book now because when people read the chapter headings over your shoulder, it’s the best. But, I’m thinking I need audio for morning work commute

  328. So glad this happened to you! Seems like I’ve been encountering so many instances of unexpected generosity in the world lately. I’m half goofy optimist, half hard-boiled cynic; really making the cynic in me reconsider!…

Looks like you’ve had a ton of requests already, but if you’re not out of audiobooks yet, I’d love to hear you read Furiously Happy!

  329. Congrats! I’d love let’s pretend this never happened and if I win I promise to buy the person behind me breakfast!

  330. Would LOVE…Furiously Happy. I could use the happiness…not that I’m sad but who dose not to be happier?

  331. I would love let’s pretend this never happened. I travel a lot for work and need a new audiobook to listen to 🙂

  332. I have Let’s Pretend This Never Happened (Hilarious) and just purchased Furiously Happy on my phone. My daughter suffers from Anxiety and Depression and has tried for years to explain her brain to me. She told me two weeks ago about something she read on the internet about the “Spoon Theory” and it made so much sense to me. I literally read about it in your book the next day – crazy. I have shared excerpts of your book with her but would love for her to have her own hard copy. She loves Tumbler and calls the people on there her friends, loves Dr Who, anything super hero related, animals and renaissance fairs. I think your book would be a huge help to her as she will relate to your words! Thank you for sharing your life with such wonderful humor!

  333. My family has bought both, so if you draw me, redraw and give to someone else. Congratulations so hard on your Audie Award, Jenny! We love you!

  334. Ooooh, I need “Let’s Pretend…” because I already have “Furiously Happy” on Audible.
…and I’m going to pay for someone’s lunch as soon as I leave the office. Thank you for sharing~

  335. I would love a copy of lets pretend this never happened. 😀

  336. Furiously Happy!!!! This would make traffic bearable and minor road rage somewhat avoidable… 😉

  337. I think I love you too. But not in a creepy way. If you randomly select me, you may randomly choose which audiobook to send me. I love both of your books equally. And thanks!

  338. Furiously Happy! I love when those pay it forward moments happen!

  339. Could I get Let’s Pretend…I lent my copy to a friend and I really don’t expect to get it back…ever. Bummer. Unless you only have enough copies for those who have never had a copy to loan out and never get back…ever. If that is the case thank you anyway.

  340. Aww how can I ever choose?! Surprise me! 🙂 Such a wonderful gesture when people pay for the person behind them in line. I remember being in college and had 5$ until pay day and was running late to work and drove through to get a cheeseburger to hold me over until I got off work at 11:00pm. The car in front of me not only paid for my cheeseburger but told them to make it a meal and paid for it (I must have really looked pathetic in my beat down Saturday that ticked from lack of oil changes haha) There wasn’t a car behind me so I was able to save my 5$ and buy another meal and wasn’t starving through my entire shift.

  341. Let’s Pretend This Never Happened is my favorite book,(right after The Secret Garden!)
To the winner of this-you’re going on laugh yourself silly! Make sure your bladder is empty before reading!
    Good Luck!

  342. Let’s Pretend! I want to listen to you tell the turkey story and the dead squirrel story. I like to read them outloud to other people, but then I can’t because I cry from laughing to hard and they just stare at me.

  343. Congratulations on your Audie award Jenny! I’d love Let’s Pretend This Never Happened.
    P.S. I love you too!

  344. You rock. I already have both, I just stopped by to tell your how much you are loved. Today I’m borrowing from my furiously happy bank. I’ll tell it when things are better.

  345. I would love either… or both! You have been such an inspiration to me, and I am so glad to know that there are so many who can relate to this glorious life I live with anxiety, bouts of depression, humor and sarcasm.

  346. Either would be amazing! I have a fear of driving long distances, and omg, this would be so much help!

  347. I would love a copy of either one. I have passed my paper copies on to all my family and friends because it was so amazingly funny and touching!

  348. Well currently everyone in my town thinks I’m crazy as I drive around laughing out loud to myself listening to Furious. So having Let’s Pretend would pretty much seal the deal. Sounds perfect!

  349. Oh wow! What a nice way to start the day. Yay for random acts of kindness. 🙂 If I am lucky enough to be randomly selected, I would love a copy of Furiously Happy as there are people in my life who neeeeeeed to hear it!

  350. I’m road-tripping with my mom this summer, and I’m pretty sure listening to Let’s Pretend This Never Happened would make the road trip even more awesome!

PS – Someone paid for my coffee the other day, so I tried to pay for the person behind me, and they hadn’t ordered yet when I was at the window. 🙁

  351. PICK ME PICK ME!!!!!! I’d love to hear your sweet voice in my earballs as I drive down the road laughing my ass off. #FuriouslyHappy please. Also – I vow to pass your gift on to someone in need of some #FuriouslyHappiness and make them to promise to pass it on until the whole entire world is #FuriouslyHappy and then you’ll have to write a new book called, “Cool Your Damn Jets, Y’ALL! There’s too much HAPPINESS! Wait…there can never be too much happiness.” It’s a working title, you can tweak it if you want. I’m just here for ideas. And the free Audio book.

    P.S. I love you too.

P.P.S. We have already started a #FuriouslyHappy book chain where everyone it gets passed to, signs it and when they are done, they pass it onto the next. It’s somewhere in Oregon now.

  352. I already bought the hard cover and audio for “Furious” and I purchased “Let’s Pretend . . .” for my daughter but would really, really LOVE the audio of “Let’s Pretend . . .” for myself. 😉

Thanks so much for sharing the good, the bad, and the ugly so we all know we’re not alone.

  353. Let’s pretend this didn’t happen but then not pretend it did and by that I mean can I pretend I didn’t not win and then be pleasantly surprised when I hear I did? Now I’m confused and have lost track, but I’m thinking you know which won I would love…

  354. I would love an audiobook of “Let’s Pretend This Never Happened”. By the way, I think you are awesome and I love your blog!

  355. I would love either, but if I have to choose I’ll take Furiously Happy.

  356. I’d love either one. Life should always be full of little surprises! 🙂

  357. I would love to hear you read Let’s Pretend This Never Happened. I love you and the whole tribe – I feel normal here 🙂 Or at least weird, but in excellent company.

  358. I would so love a copy of furiously happy.
Your post has inspired me to pay for the person behind me in the Starbucks line.

  359. I’d welcome either one (I have both in print) so I could gift it to someone else – pay it forward!

  360. Furiously Happy please and thank you . I was able to buy your first book when it came out but have not been able to afford the extra cash for the new book. Thanks for the laughs!

  361. I read Furiously Happy and had to keep closing the book every couple of pages, because my giggling was causing the dog to come over and put his paw on my knee and gaze deep into my eyes with great concern. So, I bought the audio of Let’s Pretend…. and though I do love the sound of your voice, I wish there was a knob on my reader like the old 331/3 setting on the record player to slow your voice so I could savor the words… please… in your next audiobook? Please read slower for us old folks… thanks…jo

  362. Let’s Pretend This Never Happened. It was SO good I’d love to have it to just listen to. I still need to get your other book… it’s on my “gift” list… but the ol’ husband has not taken the hint. Maybe I need to remind him XD

  363. This was a happy post I needed to hear today! It’s nice that there are nice people left, and that they show themselves in public sometimes. <3

  364. i would love love love a copy of Furiously Happy!
this book speaks to me on levels i can’t even explain.

  365. I don’t know if you’ve made a decision yet, but in the spirit of giving rather than receiving, I’d like you to send a copy of Furiously Happy to my ex-husband’s wife. She and I are close friends, so this would not be some kind of vicious joke or anything. But she and I are a lot alike in the mental health issues we’ve dealt with, and with four kids I doubt she’d ever be able to sit down and read an actual book version. I’ve told her about the books many times and how they’ve helped me laugh through some dark times of my own.

  366. I would like “Let’s Pretend This Never Happened” because I’ve already read “Furiously Happy,” and it changed how I view myself – for the healthier! 🙂

  367. I would love furiously happy!!! 🐿 This squirrel wants you to give it to me!

  368. I would please like Let’s Pretend This Never Happened. I read Furiously Happy but I have not read Let’s Pretend. But I want to. And I live in Canada, so I am really nice and as a Canadian should read your first book. Or something like that. I just really want it. Will you sign it too? Thanks.

  369. I would love a copy of Furiously Happy!
P.S. I laughed out loud reading the snake under the car bit in Let’s Pretend because my mom did almost identically the same thing. While my brother (age 7) and I (age 5) were both in the car. Had to have a reading of it in my living room at Christmas.

  370. I would love whichever you have the least demand for. Both inspire me, make me laugh, make me cry and remind me that I am not in this madness alone.

  371. You know what? I don’t need a copy. Give it to someone else who really needs it. I have both your books and just absolutely adore you. I’m in a really rough time right now and not doing well at all but reading your books has helped me get through. You make a difference in this world. I really hope you see this.

  372. Please, either, I need your voice in the car because the car is a scary place for me and I feel like listening to you would make it way more tolerable. Why is driving places so hard? Probably because there are people at the other end and they usually expect me to be able to engage in conversation. Silly people.

  373. I’ve been beating myself up over trying to save a few bucks by buying the Kindle versions of both since I have a dear friend who I would totally gift LPTNH. If I was chosen to receive that book, it would be the greatest gift. Your talent is such a gift.

  374. I would totally love either one! And I’ll share them! I’ll share the shit out of them!!

  375. I would love to receive either one. I haven’t splurged yet to purchase them.

  376. I loved Furiously Happy on audio. I wanted to get Let’s Pretend as well, but the price on Amazon is almost $80! Do you know why it’s so expensive?

  377. I would love “Let’s Pretend…”, but I would take either! And then share it with my mom who also has a love of audiobooks and laughter.

  378. I listened to Let’s Pretend This Never Happened on my recent annual road trip to New York City and it was seriously one of the best audio books I’ve ever listened to in my life! I’d love a copy of Furiously Happy, I’ve been wanting to listen to it since the second if finished LPTNH 😀

  379. Let’s Pretend This Never Happened has brought me to tears–in the best way–during this time in which I’m coping with widowhood and sudden single-motherhood. Even if I don’t win one of your audiobooks I want you to know that you have brought light into some very dark spaces in my life. Thank you, Jenny!

  380. Oh, that’s such a sweet start to the day! I am glad you passed it on.

I would love the audio book of “Furiously Happy”! My hubby and I are going on a road trip and LOVE listening to audio books while on the road. He has read “Furiously Happy: already, but I have not. It would be great to listen and talk about it. I know he thought it was a wonderful book.

This road trip is long, the first leg is 6 1/2 hrs, then we stop for a few days. Next leg is about 11 hours, then we are at my best friend’s home for a week. If we finished the audio book, I would then pass it on to her! The return trip will be about 13 hours. I actually have an extra day off, just to recuperate!

  381. Am I too late? Is it possible that you have 562 audio books to give away? I would love to listen to “Let’s Pretend This Never Happened” during my hour long commute to work. “Let’s pretend this never happened” is usually what I am thinking on the hour long commute back home from work. I should explain that I teach middle school, am a single mom, and am a struggling writer/business owner so there is a lot of stuff I would like to pretend has never happened. Whether i receive an audio book or not, I am going to buy someone lunch tomorrow so I can keep the circle of generosity going. Thanks for some inspiration!

  382. I’d love either! Trying to get my mom to read your stuff and she might like it better in audio book form.

  383. I’d love Let’s Pretend This Never Happened, I been lending my book here in Mexico. I send you a big bear hug 🙂

  384. Honestly, I would be happy with either one but to make it easier for you, let’s just say Let’s Pretend This Never Happened for my choice 🙂

  385. I am listening to “Let’s Pretend This Never Happened” right now. Well not literally right now, but it’s my current listen when I walk. Because I smile continuously and laugh out loud, I imagine people on the trail are dying to know what I’m listening too…or they think I’m insane…or they just feel sorry for me because I’m simple and lonely. Anyhoot, I’d love to give “Furiously Happy” a listen when I’m done. I secretly love creeping people out.
    Thanks,
    One Lucky Stranger

  386. I would love to get the audio book of Let’s Pretend This Never Happened, I want to give it to a friend but I would definitely have to listen to it myself first. The book reads like story telling, it would be interesting to know if what I hear in my head matches how you say it. Thanks for the books! First time i could actually read a book again AND I laughed out loud after a very bad time was when I tried to read your first book. I say tried because before that I was unable to read any book for more than a year. You flipped my constant reader switch back on, what a gift

  387. Sorry for posting twice….I’m assuming since I had no name on the previous post that my chances of winning are slim lol I’d love Let’s Pretend This Never Happened <3

  388. I have read (and loved both), but would love to hear it from the horses mouth! Either one!

  389. I scrolled slowly down all the comments, and don’t see anything jumping and saying “Too late! All gone!” so I’ll just go for it.
Jenny, my bloggess, my hero(ine) (but I don’t like using that word because it looks like drugs), I’d love a copy of “Let’s Pretend This Never Happened” and I would TOTALLY pay it forward by giving it to a friend or sister who I know hasn’t read it and would love it.

  390. I would be oh so very grateful for a copy of “Furiously Happy”! 🙂

  391. I might be too late to the game, but I would LOVE “Furiously Happy!”

Next time I’m at the drive-thru, I’m going to pay for the person behind me. Because that’s fun!

  392. Furiously Happy FTW! I love the book already and it would be awesome to have the audio version.

  393. I’d love “Let’s Pretend This Never Happened” so I could you hear tell how this all began. You’ve saved my day so many times – Thank you!!!

  394. You are awesome and make my day all the time.
I have both books, but either one I’d love to pass on, cause I’m keeping
    MY copies! 😜

  395. Do you want me to choose which of my dogs I love most while I’m at it? Based solely on the Shakespearean mouse, I’ll go with Let’s Pretend This Never Happened.
(By the way, I love my dachshund more.. just don’t tell that other one.)

  396. I would love one, but I have both in hardcover. And I know there is someone out there who needs your words. So I am sending them love and light RIGHT NOW and the knowledge that they can get through this – no matter what this is or how big it seems. Xoxo

  397. I already have both, so no need to give me a book but I think I will pass on the love and buy someone a coffee when I get mine! Random acts for the win!!

  398. Let’s Pretend this Never Happened! I especially love the conversations between you and Victor. You guys crack me up. And Beyoncé. OMG I need to go and read that book again.

  399. Would love Let’s Pretend this Never Happened for my teen daughter who is dealing with a shitstorm of anxiety these days.

  400. I would love Let’s Pretend This Never Happened. I’m excited to hear you read it!

  401. I would love Let’s Pretend This Never Happened. I can’t wait to hear you read them!

  402. Would love either! Or both!! I try to instill the kindness of paying it forward to my kids on a daily basis.. My daughter might not understand it yet as she’s only 3, but my son is 9 and he’s getting pretty good at helping and wanting to do more for those who can’t .. He sees those who might be struggling and will go assist. The motto is to always offer a smile , kind words and ask if they need help”– you never know what kind of battle that person is encountering .

  403. I loved both of these books, and would absolutely adore hearing them read aloud. =]

  404. I would love to have either one to give to my daughter for her birthday. She is one of your biggest fans and has met you twice.

  405. I would love Let’s Pretend This Never Happened. I can’t wait to hear you read it!

  406. Furiously Happy, please. Wait, I live in Canada now. PLEASE AND THANK YOU.

  407. I just had to take a job 5 hours away from my family- I would love to listen to Let’s Pretend This Never Happened during that long drive every weekend!

  408. I would love a copy of either to get me through my abysmal commute in the morning!

  409. Pick one for me…your blog is the best part of my day. Summer vacation from school starts next week and I need a good escape from textbooks. Your drawings are great!

  410. Let’s Pretend this Never Happened pretty please. Pick me, pick me!!

  411. I’m sure I’m late but we never know until we try… I’d like a copy of Let’s Pretend This Never Happened. I just ordered Furiously Happy which is long overdue.

I live in South Africa so if postage will be a problem please ignore this. I still have Furiously Happy to read and my order is arriving any day now.

  412. I would love “Furiously Happy.” I gave my daughter my copy of the book and it helped her so much I let her keep it. Thanks for helping us both. P. S. Live you too!

  413. I would LOVE Furiously Happy! I own Let’s Pretend This Never Happened and always tell my friends they need to read it.

  414. I love both books so much that it is hard to decide. But I have to decide, don’t I? So if you pick me, I would love to get Let’s Pretend This Never Happened!

  415. I’d love to listen to Furiously Happy as I’m packing & cleaning. We have our house on the market & what an annoying g stressful & tedious process the whole thing is!!!

  416. I would love a copy of Furiously Happy. Having a hide in bed kind of week/month.

  417. In the 1970’s my parents wrote and illustrated a book for my sister and I called “Lets Pretend” it was about a game we played where I was a Super Horse and she was a Super Dog, although one time when she was 4 she wanted to be Super Market….but that part isn’t in the book. At the end of the book the two girls are sitting down for supper and the parents spit out their spaghetti when they see the girls legs are horse and dogs legs…. that the pretending hadn’t quite worn off.
I thought you might like that story and I really liked your Lets Pretend book too… so that would be the audio book that would make me happy today.

  418. Let’s Pretend It Never Happened. And I also appreciate that I don’t have to jump through many hoops to enter.

  419. I’m picking up anything you’re laying down! I would love Let’s Pretend!

  420. I would love a copy of Furiously Happy! Money has been tight recently and I haven’t been able to afford my own copy, but I keep hearing how awesome it is…

  421. I’d love Let’s Pretend This Never Happened! Growing up in the South; some of the weirded stories really spoke to me. 🙂

  422. Please share Furiously Happy on audio with us! Newborn baby makes reading my hardcover copy challenging…

  423. I will take either, because I listen to audiobooks while I drive, and that seems like an excellent location to laugh so hard I pee myself a little.

  424. “Let’s Pretend” because page 13 is the funniest thing I have ever read and laughed so hard I could not stop. Every time I thought I had it under control and tried to continue reading I would start laughing again. Tears rolling down my face. And I would love to hear you read that to me.

  425. Either would be cool. I would just love to listen to your voice. Then I’d probably give it to my local library to share the joy 😀

  426. Either would be awesome. I’d just love to listen to your voice. Then I’d donate it to my local library so others could share in the joy! (and this time I’m leaving my name!)

  427. I would love Furiously Happy! I have recommended your books to evryone who reads. Love them!

  428. Oh. Please? Furiously Happy. That would be awesome. If I am picked, thank you. ❤

Very cool. I love it when that happens. I have paid for people behind me, but never been the recipient. My husband has. It is awesome though. Its fun and potentially life saving. Ya never know what kind of a day someone is having.

Kindness is a powerful thing. ❤

  429. Let’s Pretend! Cause it made me laugh during one of the darkest times on my life.
And because, already have Furiously Happy…just waiting for an autograph.

  430. Holy cow! I am late to the ball. At least you know how much people love free shit! Furiously happy is the book that strikes my fancy. We adopted two children last year not realizing I had a pretty severe neurological Lyme infection. So treatment and momming is pretty damn hard…but worth it!?!?!
It is what it is. Wish I was furiously happy. Just sayin…

  431. I seriously would love either!! I have several long drives coming up (my grandfather is under going chemo and I’m going to hang with him) so they would be perfect!

  432. Wow, if you happen to have any left by now, I’d dig a copy of Furiously Happy. My ten-year old already quotes the chicken stabbing dog story from Pretend to me all the freaking time. I read an excerpt to her (no, I did no tread the whole book to her. She’s ten, yo). But it’s delicious laughing together over it. Thanks!

  433. I would LOVE a copy of each – if possible. I think both my daughter and I would benefit from them! If I can only get one, I need to start with the first one first… Let’s Pretend…

    Thank you!!

  434. I would love a copy of Furiously Happy. I’m dyslexic and sometimes its incredibly hard fro me to get through a whole book and I find my self reading sentences over and over and over. I love your books and I got Furiously Happy on release day but I must confess i’m only half finished. It would be awesome to listen while I drive to and from work. Keep being awesome!

  435. It’s like Sophie’s choice!!! I guess…let’s pretend this never happened please.

  436. I would love a copy of “Let’s Pretend This Never Happened” because hearing you tell the story of Jumbo Quail would make my month 🙂

  437. I would take either, because, as my mama says, beggars can’t be choosers. And because I love you 🙂

  438. I’d love an audio copy of Furiously Happy. I bought the book, but haven’t had time to sit down and read it! I’ll gladly pas the book on as a gift if I’m able to listen instead. 🙂

  439. I’d love a copy of either – but I’m betting you are probably already out – 600+ comments don’t leave great odds. :-/

  440. Ooh! Both are fantastic, but I’d love ‘Let’s Pretend’ I’ve been wanting my son to read it, but I think he’ll do better if we listen to it together.

  441. Oh I love audiobooks! I haven’t read Furiously Happy yet, so lets shoot for that one! 🙂

  442. I need Let’s Pretend This Never Happened to give to my dear friend who is moving across the ocean, despite having a great fear of flying over water. She needs a laugh to keep her distracted!

  443. I have read them both and loved them both. You are some of the magic. I will acquire the audio books for one of my best friends who has trouble with print books b/c of her meds. She is magic too. (Just not as funny.)

  444. Fingers crossed for either one…okay, now their not as I am so physically unfit that my fingers just cramped doing that..;)

  445. Wow! I check your site twice or three times a day but I’m already almost 700 comments behind. So I would love either one. in any case thanks!

  446. I would love “Let’s Pretend This Never Happened”! I lent someone my signed copy (I met you in Toronto on your first tour) which I often do for friends who are struggling with mental health issues. Unfortunately, I can’t remember who has it, and it hasn’t made it way home yet! An audio book would be a great replacement! 🙂 (Though I will miss all the awesome family photos…)

  447. J-Law (that’s what people call you, right? Bc you were J-Law waaaaay before Jennifer Lawrence!),
You’re so flippin’ awesome. I don’t want either book, as I have both audiobooks downloaded from Audible, but just wanted to give you a virtual high 5…bc you rock!! I’m headed down to the beach for an all-girls’ weekend w/some of my closest friends, who are total introverts like me (ok, it’s just one friend, but she gets me, and we both have been going on this “retreat” of quiet peace & sand & ocean for years now…it’s the perfect vacay). We leave next week, and it’s a good 7 hour drive, which is the PERFECT time to share my love for your hilarity! I think we may even be able to squeeze in both books…one on the way down and one on the way back up! You are amazeballs!

  448. I would love either! I’m currently undergoing Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation treatment for severe depression and would love to listen to your voice during treatments. Lovelovelove you for all of the inspiration and strength you give me. ❤️

  449. I’d love a copy of Furiously Happy for my sweet friend who has been going through a tough patch.

  450. I’d love Let’s Pretend This Never Happened. I’m currently listening to Furiously Happy. Your talk at Politics and Prose (recorded for the Slate podcast) was great. You got a new reader from it.

  451. A friend of mine just introduced me to your blog/books today! I’m already in love! <3 I would love a copy of “Let’s Pretend This Never Happened”!!

  452. I love Furiously Happy! I listened to it on my way across country and it made me feel like I was not alone, although people who saw me laughing and crying while driving all alone seemed to loo a little nervous..lol. I would love to have a copy of “Lets Pretend this Never Happened.” I have it on my wish list on Amazon, just waiting for $.

  453. I would love Let’s Pretend! I have both books in hardcopy, but I can only imagine listening to you read it would be awesome!

  454. The Transitive Property and how it applies to you, Dear Bloggess: IF YOU are AWESOME (Which ya are, Blanche, ya are!), and YOUR BOOKS are a part of YOU, then, Your BOOKS ARE AWESOME…Please send me the AWESOME Furiously Happy! 😀 Jamy

  455. Furiously happy! I had to stop reading it on an airplane because I was laughing too hard.

  456. I love you and your books and I talk about you all the time to my sister and read your blog out loud to her but she doesn’t read (not that she CAN’T read, that would be sad and I would have taught her by now, what kind of sister do you think I am?) but she does LISTEN to books while she is waiting in the pickup lane at the elementary school (if you don’t get there at least 45 minutes early you are not going to get a spot in the front of the line, and that is NOT how my sister rolls), so I would love to be able to gift her a copy of either of your books so she can understand more completely why I love you and possible be able to better understand why I don’t like crowds and people.

  457. That photo of your Blythe shelf definitely made my day a little brighter! 😀

I already have a print copy of Let’s Pretend, so an audio of Furiously Happy would be cool…though I think a lot of other people who’ve already commented need/deserve it more.

  458. I’d like let’s pretend this never happened. I read Furiously Happy and loved it!

  459. I would love a copy of either book! I would even share them once I was done so others could enjoy it too!

  460. Oh please, oh please, pick me, pick me! I would love an audio copy of Furiously Happy. My friends and family would like it even more as i’ve been following them around reading them passages ever since I borrowed it from the library recently. No doubt I’m sure they’d much rather have you read it to them. And come to think of it, I’d rather you read it to me too! I loved it so much that when the library demanded their copy back I went to my local bookstore and purchased both Furiously Happy and Let’s Pretend This Never Happy Birthday to me! You even make my linear-thinking engineer husband laugh! Although he is somewhat concerned to know that there is another person in the world whose brain works like mine. Apparently there are not people like us in engineering school. What a pity. Anyway, thanks for continuing to pay it forward, even if the “forward” isn’t to me. But I hope it is. Really. Did I mention it was my birthday? Okay, so it was last month but since I didn’t have birthday cake yet it’s still technically my birthday. That’s a rule. I’m sure it’s written somewhere… I think I should stop talking now.

  461. Enjoyed both books, so either one would work. You don’t realize how much it means to know that I’m not alone in this.

  462. Oh heavens! Furiously Happy!!! I’ve waited for AGES at the local small town library and there are still 3 callers ahead, Jimmy!

  463. Well I’m #665 (or more cuz 50 folks will probably post while I’m doing this) so those are some pretty intense odds, but I’d love either one, but mostly Furiously Happy. And I just realized that I could always comment HERE instead of Facebook because I don’t like to comment on FB because I know close friends and family would NOT understand. That’s why I’d like to have the audio of FA also, cuz I can listen with headphones for the same reason. And not that I care what “they” think, I just don’t feel like explaining it to someone…like my friends who didn’t get why I went to AA a hundred years ago. Thanks for being you. Peace out.

  464. I would love Furiously Happy. I listened to the audio book, that I checked out from my library. It was like an angel from heaven. It brought humor and understanding to me in a rough time after moving to another state. It will always have a special place in my heart.

  465. Well poop! I actually came in as #697 but forgot to put my name and stuff. So HERE I AM!!

  466. I would LOVE to hear you read Furiously Happy! Please and Thank you!

  467. Am I too late? I would love the audio of “Let’s Pretend thus Never Happened” for my hubby. He needs to hear you, to appreciate why I’ve been giggling to myself for the past year since I discovered you.

  468. I agree. It’s such a great surprise. Good to get and feels better to give.
I’ve had the drive through thing happen to me a lot. Like twice a week or more sometimes. It sounds like it’s all great until you get this nugget – the generosity was coming from my new boss and I began my career there beholden to her. $5 each time was tipping the scales heavily in her favor. I had so wanted to start this new job with clear boundaries, no ‘we’re friends’ stuff that had gotten so uncomfortable elsewhere. I found a different route to work. F.
So it is not always a great thing. In my case, I’ve ended up paying for it anyway – one way or another.

  469. I love when things like that happen! Also thank you for being so generous! I haven’t had the money to get a furiously happy! But I do have let’s pretend this never happened and I love it 🙂

  470. Ooooh, I’d love Let’s Pretend This Didn’t Happen! That would be wonderful!

  471. Can I please have let’s pretend this never happened??? Furiously happy was awesome!

  472. I’d love one of either to give to my friend, Kim, who is going through so much right now. There is only so much colouring she can do 🙂 I’ve read and love both!

  473. Let’s Pretend…Because everyone should now and again

  474. Furiously Happy please!

Glad you had a fantastic morning!
Thanks for always making me smile 🙂

  475. I would LOVE a copy of Furiously Happy!!! I have a 2 hour commute once a week now for my volunteer position and this would be perfect to listen to!!

  476. Thank you for being you and for documenting it for the world to read! When I read your blog I smile from ear to ear! It makes my day…so thank you!

  477. I’d love a copy of either! I’m deaf, and I love the print versions, but I want to gift one to my sister, who is as huge a fan of you as I am.

  478. I would love to hear Furiously Happy. I am a college professor, and I teach an online course. I always make my students write a brief, introductory post about themselves. One girl randomly volunteered that her favorite book is Furiously Happy. I figure that’s a sign…

  479. I would want “lets pretend this never happened” although both made me happy to read.

  480. I would love Furiously Happy or Let’s Pretend This Never Happened. I have purchased two of Furiously Happy and one paperback and one Kindle of Let’s Pretend. They (you) speak to me so well. Thank you for being you.

  481. That’s so cool!

I loved “Let’s Pretend this Never Happened,” and am currently reading “Furiously Happy.” My husband keeps raising his eyebrows at me every time I snort or laugh out loud. I would love a copy of an audiobook, to share with my little sister, and/or to subject my husband to. 🙂

  482. I listened to Furiously Happy on my commute each day for weeks and it had me laughing each morning and evening. So I’d love to have Let’s Pretend This Never Happened.

  483. i already have both so im voting on the comment in front of this one to get them. give it to that person!

  484. I’m sure it is way too late to qualify but I’d love to have the Furiously Happy Audio! I read the book as a library rental and thought it was wonderful, however, I’m sure hearing YOU speak your words would be much better! Congratulations. Well deserved.

  485. Let’s Pretend This Never Happened! I haven’t read it yet as I came along when Furious Happy was in the works. I would LOVE to hear it, especially in your voice!

  486. I would love “Let’s Pretend This Never Happened,” and I will send you something in return. I do have the “Furiously Happy” audiobook (and love it), but sellers at amazon want at least $79.99 for a used “Let’s Pretend” audiobook. I haven’t checked eBay yet.

  487. Dang. I’m really late in this reply, but I’d LOVE “Let’s Pretend” because I just finished reading “Furiously Happy.” I really loved it. You and Mary Karr are now in a tie for fav memoir. That “Liar’s Club” was a piece of genius. And, if you do actually read this post buried at the bottom of this lovely giveaway, I just want you to know how much I appreciate what you’re doing for mental health advocacy. I’m at the tail end of cancer treatments and I gotta tell you, it’s a bit annoying having an illness people understand and rally around. Where were they when I was in the pitt of depression/anxiety all those damn years? Ha! It’s exactly like you mentioned in FH. Sigh. Anyway, I really hope you read this. That would be better than getting the free book.

  488. Furiously Happy would be awesome, but I don’t care if I don’t win, I’m just happy to have read this today. I’ve done similar (paying for the car behind me, leaving surprise lotto tickets/scratchies) and think it’s just awesome to spread a little “the giving is the reward” love. RAOKs FTW!

  489. One: I would love Let’s Pretend
Two: random acts of kindness are the BEST things in the universe!
Three: I think we are crashing your site.

  490. Thank YOU for making every day brighter for us. Your words bring happiness, direction, and understanding.

I’m on my 3rd listen of Furiously Happy. It’s wonderful.

My pick would be Lets Pretend This Never Happened. I borrowed it once from the library and loved it. I’d love to have my own copy to put on repeat.

    Thanks for everything!!

  491. Let’s Pretend! I have Furiously Happy from Audible already and loved it.

  492. Would love audio of F.H. My (sometimes depressed) daughter really wanted my copy of the book so I gave it to her — she needed it more than I did — but I miss YOU.
    Sarah

  493. I’d love Let’s Pretend. That book is on my iPhone kindle app and I reread it almost constantly.

  494. If you are sending them to Australia I would love a copy of Firiously Happy please. It would make my car ride to dreadful work a lot more pleasant and funny.

  495. i would love “let’s pretend…”!! i’ve read it a couple times and i tend to laugh so hard that i cry – i would absolutely love to be able to hear it as well!

  496. I would love to hear you read Furiously Happy. I need to learn how to feel furiously happy!

  497. I would totally love Furiously Happy! You are the funniest lady on the interwebs.

  498. I stumbled upon your blog about a year ago. I really admire what you do and find strength in your strength. Though I’m sure you may not think you have it. (I hope you do know how amazing you are). I have been wanting to read your books since I found out about them but I can’t afford them. I’ve been keeping my eyes peeled at Goodwill but seriously, who would get rid of your book once they read it? But I look, nonetheless.
That said, yes, I would love a copy.
But more importantly, keep writing. And keep being you. 💕

  499. Having many depressed friends, I have helped with the success of “Furiously Happy” by giving them copies!

  500. Actually, ignore my above comment if by some chance I were to be one of the randomly selected. I’d rather someone who doesn’t own either of your books in any format to get one. I’ve already got Furiously Happy to look forward to when my order arrives.

I know very well how much it sucks to be in a dark place. Someone who doesn’t own either of the two and isn’t able to order either of them anytime soon needs it more than I do.

P.S. I just discovered the tiny smiley face in the bottom left corner of your site.

  501. I’m not asking for anything, I’m just saying how marvelous you are, for sharing yourself with us, for buying a stranger breakfast, and for giving out audiobooks when you have them. congratulations on the award!!

  502. I would love a copy of lets pretend this never happened! I read Furiously Happy before I knew anything about you and I’ve never laugh-cried so much at a book before. At points my stomach actually hurt because I was laughing so much

  503. I’d love a copy of furiously happy. I got to hear you read a chapter of Lets Pretend this Never Happened on the first tour, but wasn’t able to sneak out of the state on the second tour.

  504. Let’s Pretend tThis Never Happened. Laughed till crying and think it would be fun to run to.

  505. I would love to have FH in audio! I got the book at your booksigning in Washington DC but I’ve misplaced it 😒 So I have t finished it and it’s driving me crazy (more crazy)! I had an amazing time that night and knew I found my tribe!

  506. Two of the funniest books ever…I loved Lets Pretend this Never Happened so feel free to send it to me and thanksqq

  507. I would love to have both, but if I have to choose it would be Let’s Pretend This Never Happened. I have both, but neither in audio.

  508. I have both books already. If you want to make my day brighter, keep being your awesome self.

  509. Let’s Pretend this Never Happened because I really want to read it and basically I have been saying that my whole life……..jen

  510. I would love an audio copy! I can never really afford to indulge in them. As for which book, I’d say surprise me. Both were beyond amazing!

  511. Me, me, ME….PLEASE! I LOVE your stuff. I don’t miss a day of your blog. That’s not meant to be a qualifying statement…it’s an aside. I read your blog every day. I had a beautiful friend to alert to your posts when it seemed so appropriate for her to read because you shared many of the same feelings, not the least of which were the cat-centric hilarity. Sadly, I lost her, but being able to read your words helps me very much with the loss. When the post is funny, I think of how much she would have laughed. When the post is serious, I think of how much she would have identified. Sometimes I read them aloud just in case she can hear me.

  512. I would love a copy of Let’s Pretend This Never Happened. Hearing you read it would be AWESOME! I always imagine what your voice sounds like when I read the blog, like you’re reading it to me, so it would be nice to see if I was close to what your real voice sounds like, lol!

  513. Lets pretend this never happened!!
Want my siblings to listen to so they know their childhood could have been even more interesting then it already was! Love your writing. Thank you

  514. I’d love both, but don’t want to be greedy, so how about LET’S PRETEND. =)
I realize that with so many people ahead of me, and probably following me, my odds are probably pretty slim, but seeing as my daughter got attacked two years ago by a six foot shark in waist deep water while boogie boarding, and almost lost her leg…and the odds were supposedly better for her to win a gazillion dollars in the lottery, rather than be shark bait…well, I guess its possible I’ll be one of the chosen ones for your audio book. =)
And I think that I speak for all of us by saying that we love you too!

  515. I’d like Let’s Pretend This Never Happened…but I’m probably too late as usual. 🙁

  516. Drumroll…….Let’s pretend this never happened. Mostly because that title sums up most of the events in my life. Lol

  517. I’ve had a really rough month and could really use some Furiously Happy in my life!

  518. I love you too…and I would also love a copy of Furiously Happy…

  519. Random acts of kindness are the best.

Is love a copy of Furoously Happy…

  520. I want Let’s Pretend This Never Happened, because it got me and my lab mates through the longest car trip ever with our sanity intact.

  521. I’d love a copy of Furiously Happy, Jenny. But I live in Europe so if it is too much trouble to send, you can just ignore me 🙂

  522. Omg, I would LOVE to have an audiobook of Let’s Pretend This Never Happened! I’m already imagining guffawing all the way through! Except for the sad parts, because that would be totally inappropriate, right?

  523. I would love a copy of let’s pretend this never happened. I realize I might be too late too. That’s kind of my MO 😉
Thanks for the opportunity and thanks for giving me a great idea of how to brighten someone’s day.
Another day-brightening suggestion: buy a homeless person a candy bar without being asked. Who doesn’t like getting a candy bar?!?! And it’s nice to just get a gift and not have to ask for it. 🙂

  524. People do this all the time at Tim Hortons in Canada. It’s great! I love Let’s Pretend!

  525. Please I would just love to have Let’s Pretend This Never Happened. I spend a lot of time in the car and need to hear your voice!!! Plus that book led me to you. Thanks so much Jenny! 😘

  526. It’s great when somebody starts your day in such a thoughtful way!
I’d love to have Furiously Happy.

  527. I would love Furiously Happy! I’m feeling really down these days and your sparkling wit and lovely voice are just what I need to cheer me up.

  528. I would love a copy of “Let’s pretend..” but I’m sure it’s a little late for this party. I’m going to get it anyway. Loved Furiously Happy and have shared it with a friend. Thanks for what you do!!!!

  529. I love audio books! Love, love, love them. They are second only to paper books.

  530. I would love Let’s Pretend This Never Happened….I seem to live by this premise… 🙂

  531. I would love a copy of an audio book! I just learned that playing audio books while you are gone can help anxiety dogs. My Pearl knows depression lies.

  532. Love the idea of Pay it Forward – makes me happy to see people helping other people! I would be very happy with a copy of either audiobook. Love you Jenny!

  533. If you were to bestow upon me an audio version of Let’s Pretend This Never Happened, I would love, treasure, listen to, and then pass it along to another friend to enjoy with the understanding that this should be a copy in motion. 🙃

  534. I’d love a copy of an audio book! I just learned that playing audio books while you are gone can help anxiety dogs. My Pearl knows that depression lies.

  535. I would love to have either one! My husband listens to audio books on his drive to/from work and hasn’t been able to listen to either one yet because there’s such a long wait list at the library. This would give him the chance!

  536. Furiously Happy OR Let’s Pretend. I’m going to go pay something forward now.

  537. Lets Pretend This Never Happened!!! I’ve loaned the book out 3 times and the people liked it so much they kept it each time. I will always rebuy that book though.

  538. I would LOVE Furiously happy, please! I made my students day by having them throw pies at me. Thank you hugs

  539. I want nothing as I have already been the recipient of TWO copies of Furiously Happy, one of which is floating around the coworkers at my previous office. But I wanted to share my feel food moment from last weekend. While waiting at the bar for an extensive amount of time for a beverage at a very busy event, I bought a drink for the guy next to me who had been waiting even longer and I got served first. Didn’t even want to hook up with him. Just ordered our drinks, paid, and walked away 🙂 I’d like to think that left him a little pleasantly stunned.

  540. I love when people pay it forward! And, thank you for your offer of generosity! I was lucky enough to catch you on the “Let’s Pretend this Never Happened” book tour, but would still love to have a copy of the audio book!

  541. I have anxiety and reading Furiously Happy is both the most normal I’ve ever felt and also the age dear I’ve ever laughted. I would LOVE a copy of Lets Pretend.

  542. I’m a horrible person who hasn’t read either book. What’s wrong with me?!!! I think I need to be Furiously Happy. 😉

  543. Going on a car trip to visit my daughter in Portland. Would love Furiously Happy to listen to on the way!

  544. I was driving back from my mom’s on Thanksgiving weekend last year and decided to stop at one of the Cracker Barrel restaurants along the highway for dinner. As I was finishing up my dinner, the waiter came over and told me someone had paid my bill. No idea if it was because I was dining alone on a holiday weekend or if it was something the person did regularly for random strangers. Still, it was very nice of them!

No need to put me in the drawing, I have both of the audio books.:)

  545. If you still have any left I would really appreciate a copy of Furrylessly happy. I don’t want it for myself I want it for a friend who is going through a hard time. I think it would help I know it helped me soooooo much and still does to this day. Thanks

  546. I would love to have Furiously Happy as I have loaned my hard cover book to my family to read. I need something to listen to on certain days to remind myself that things will get better even when I’m feeling at my worst. Actually, I would take either, please and thank you!.

  547. Lets Pretend This Never Happened!! But I would also enjoy Furiously Happy 😉

  548. Oh, either one! I loved them both! I listened to both audiobooks & you are stellar at “pretending you’re good at it” because they’re awesome. 🙂

  549. It took me two days of scrolling to get here…but here I am! I have only read one so far but am so ready for the next! I cried with laughter (which trumps crying any other way hands down; from sadness to onions…) reading the mentally effervescent ‘Furiously Happy’ and have recommended it to every damn person I deeply care about and love as to stop them being eaten by zombies…and so forth, realised I have far too many favourites, but now have solved the mystery of why I’m so broke after the Crimbo! I would be happy with either…if there are any to spare after so many before me have commented…thank you and thinking the ‘pay it forward’ thing that happened to you should be a recognised holiday or event or something, just an everyday human activity…huzzah to spreading the joy!! x

  550. I would love love LOVE a copy of “Let’s Pretend This Never Happened”. I am glad that someone was able to pay it forward to you, so that you could pay it forward to someone else. That’s how it is supposed to be!

  551. Either! I need something to entertain me on the long drive home!

  552. Either! (Both? 😉 ) Loved them! So glad it was you who read your story.

When I could still work, I’d go through the drive through and pay for the person behind me. Not all the time, just often enough that I lost count over the years. It was stories like these that reminded me to do it again. Thanks for reminding me. Even though I can’t do it anymore, I’ve learned (and grieved) to put the angst down and remember the feeling with a full and happy heart.

  553. I would love a copy of one or both to give to my friend, Gail, who always pays for the person behind her in the Tim Horton’s drive through, and who only reads audio books and loves your blog!

  554. Let’s Pretend This Never Happened

I just finished reading Furiously Happy on my Kindle and I’m fairly certain that I adore you!

  555. I’d love either one, but particularly Let’s Pretend! Aren’t random acts of kindness the best?

  556. I’d love to have an audio version of Furiously Happy. That would be so amazing!!! It would be great to share with my friends who don’t like to read.’ kat_keller@yahoo.com
    Katana Keller

  557. furiously happy!! Also, yay for good feels breakfast!

  558. I’d LOVE a copy of Let’s Pretend, but I fear I am too late.

Good on the guy for inspiring you, tho!

  559. Oh my gosh, I have read the first but not yet the second. Please give me “Furiously Happy” so I can have closure. Ps I love you.

  560. I’d love to have a copy of Let’s Pretend, so my husband will understand what I’m talking about!

  561. Random acts of kindness have consequences! (Nearly all good!) 🙂 Both books make us laugh and we often listen in the car and while walking. We don’t need a copy as we bought them on Audible so definitely send to someone else. 🙂

  562. I loved “Let’s Pretend This Never Happened” and can’t wait to read (or hear) Furiously Happy. Your brand of thought patterns makes me feel not so alone anymore! Love ya

  563. Let’s Pretend This Never Happened, please. Would make my day. Love that your Blythe dolls are in the background.

  564. I would love one, either one! Three small children makes reading nearly impossible, though I bet I could listen’!

  565. We used to pay the toll for the car behind us on the Golden Gate Bridge. It was fun and it really confused the people in the other car. Don’t need the Audio books, as I have both books and audio books put me to sleep ( our parents read to us at bedtime, so anyone reading anything to me sends right to slumber land. It used to piss off my micro manager boss, who had to read everything aloud to us, as my eyes would glaze over and my head would start nodding).

  566. if thoses books were in French I would like furiously happy for my father ;P
I already have both your books and the best part that stick with me and is on my motivational board in my room is: Pretend your good at it…with a picture of your racoon.
    Thanks Jenny.

  567. I would love let’s pretend this never happened… cause I would like to do that with most of my dumb moments!

  568. I want to copy of “Let’s Pretend This Never Happened.” I want it because it made me laugh out loud until it hurt. Then I got a few more copies and lent some out. Everyone who read it loved it. When I read it I could have devoured it all in one sitting, but instead I rationed it out page but precious page, reading a little each night and wanting it to go on forever. I was sad when it ended.

  569. Um…i already have both books..can i have a doll?cheeky, i know…but nothing ventured. Or nothing ADventured would be better. I agree to find my way to texas..probably a road trip because road trips are best..if you agree to gift me one of those bitchin dolls. I like the one in the blue dress. Gosh, a road trip…got any suggestions for the mixed tape soundtrack of my potential trip of epic proportions?

  570. Furiously Happy!! I have two small kids and a long ride into work every day. It’s my only alone time all day. Come with me Jenny!

  571. Wow. I took a nap and 500 more responses were made. Do these giant cyber-rolls of comments ever freak you out? Because they would make me hyperventilate. In any case, Let’s Pretend This Never Happened would be my choice if the gods of Internet random fate smile and pee on my shoes.

  572. Thank you stranger for treating Jenny ! I had this happen to me once at Hardee’s drive thru. I was shocked and ask the girl how much the car behind me was. While I didnt have enough to cover the whole check, I did “pay it forward” more then half ! I was an awesome feeling too !
P.S. If you have any “Furiously Happy” copies left, I’d be tickled !

  573. I’d love the audiobook of Let’s Pretend This Never Happened… I already have the audiobook version (and hardcover book) for Furiously Happy!

And huzzah for pay it forward breakfast! (Now I’m hungry for donuts, though).

  574. Again, Canadian. We never get the good stuff. But, both books are great.
As for “paying it forward” there have been some awesome stories about this phenomena.
The premise is that you perform a good deed or an act that benefits another person in a completely altruistic manner for no reason or motivation other that it is something within your power to do. You can’t brag about it. To do so means you don’t get the resulting Karma to come back to you. Mind you, in all my times of paying for the next guy’s coffee, Not Once has anyone surprised me with a complimentary double-double. Karma ain’t Never looking my way!

  575. Already have Lets pretend, would loooove to keep Furiously Happy around for re-listening enjoyment 😀

  576. Just discovered you today by way of another author who mentioned you (kindly – lol). Since I’ve not read either one… 🙂

  577. My husband just discovered that he’s bipolar type 2, and I know he would love your audio book- it’s his favorite way to read. Those tow things might not seem connected, but they really are.

  578. The only copy of Furiously Happy I’ve managed to buy was as a gift, so I would love love love the Furiously Happy audiobook so I can finally enjoy it for myself!

  579. I would love a copy of let’s pretend this never happened!

  580. I loved both of these so much, and through your last group send-a-book experience, got a few extras of each. I have sent them all away to friends and family to pay it forward, save the last copy I have, which is going out tomorrow as part of a mystery “send a book” circle I’m in, to a girl I don’t know.

So, just wanted to say I’m good, thanks to you and your community. I loved these books and love paying it forward.

  581. I love listening to you read. Your voice is just like the woman who reads the “Junie B Junes” books. I told my kids it was like listening to Junie B Jones on crack. And I mean that in the nicest way. Long live Jenkins.

  582. I would love a Furiously Happy! It was probably the book that inspired me most to keep going through my depression and anxiety.

  583. I will happily take either!

Btw, I love it when people do such nice stuff to others. I’ve done it a few times and I’m way happier just knowing I made someone’s day a little better. 🙂 I’m glad your day started so well!

  584. Oh my… Gah. Choices are paralyzing. Tickets. Tickets. Right! Furiously Happy. Because? Jumping Jesus on a pogo stick, I am going to become that beautiful concept.

  585. Let’s Pretend This Never Happened is one of my favorite books, and makes me snort-laugh, every time I read it! I’d love an audio version, if you still have an extra. Thank you!

  586. I would love Furiously Happy!! Only because I might already own LPTNH in the whole page turning form….and audio form. My need to cry laughing cannot be contained to situations when I can sit still. 😉

  587. I would love “Let’s Pretend This Never Happened.” It would mean so much to me. I met Wil Wheaton about a month ago at a lecture, and I thanked him for what he said about anxiety and depression. I’m going through a very hard time myself right now and he was so kind to me. He introduced to me to you and your community (he told me to tell you he sent me, haha). He was so excited to bring me into your world. I bought “Furiously Happy” right after this encounter and read it “furiously.” Now I would love to listen to your first book as well. Thank you. 🙂

  588. I’m going to sound like a jerk but here goes: I’d like both of them thanks.

  589. Congrats on the Audie Award! Would love “Let’s Pretend …” on audio!

  590. Ooh, either one would be great–I could listen in short bursts on my pretty short drive to work. (As long as you promise not to make me cry right before I have to show up to work…’cuz, ya know…that wouldn’t be so good.)

  591. I’ve had that happen to me and then paid it forward in kind. I think you’re right — it’s actually better to give in my experience. I felt like awesome sneaky Santa for just a couple of secs.

  592. I would love a copy of Furiously happy! I loved the book, but I had to return it from where I found it… the library. I know my partner would love it, but she rarely has time to read because of her job… and stubbornness. We’re going camping this summer and it would be really cool to listen to it on the way there. Thank-you for giving this chance!

  593. I would love “let’s pretend” it helped me a lot … I did get kicked out of bed for Laughing out loud, but it was worth it to keep reading (anxiety keeps me up at night)

  594. I would love love love Furiously Happy!

And kudos to all the fuzzy feelings this generates.

  595. I almost NEED a copy of Furiously Happy. My husband had a heart attack, then got laid off, my shrink has decided after four years that I’m bipolar and is totally effing around with my meds, making me a complete zombie (I’ve offered to provide the markers for entertainment if we go visit anyone and I fall asleep on them).

  596. I would love the copy of let’s pretend this happened. I only just started getting into audio books so my collection as of right now is… one audio book. Hearing you tell your story would definitely help me through these tough days.

  597. That has happened to me a few times and it really does make your day. I would love a copy of Let’s Pretend This Never Happened.

  598. Congrats on your Audie Award, so deserving!! I love your books, I’m in kind of a dark place right now and would love an audio copy, but I have the ebook you gave me for Booksgiving II when we broke Amazon! so others are much more deserving! Have fun giving them away & Thank You for being a huge support to me even tho we have never met and you don’t know me from a bag of assholes😂

  599. Getting a copy of Furiously Happy would be super uber awesome! 😀

  600. I would love Lets Pretend This Never Happened! I have Furiously Happy, and I am glad they aren’t on tapes anymore, because I have listened to it so many times, mine would be worn out! 🙂

  601. I think my friend who’s in the middle of a tough time would love an audio copy of LET’S PRETEND THIS NEVER HAPPENED.

  602. Either one, please, yes! Cross country road trip coming up in a few weeks, ready to buckle in with good company!

  603. Either one, please, yes! Cross country road trip coming up in a few weeks, ready to buckle in with good company!

  604. I have not hD a chance to read furiously happy. Also typing on my phone is awful.

  605. Hmmm, that’s a tough choice, as they are two of my favourite books.

I’ll go with Furiously Happy. My husband absolutely loved it and Father’s Day is coming up.

  606. Oh me, pick me! Furiously Happy would be my choice. Does it help my chances for you to know that I’ll be forcing my teenage children to listen to it in the car with me? Don’t worry, I already ruined them.

  607. Congratulations!!!!

And how fun to be the recipient of a “pay it forward” meal, and also to keep it going to the person behind you!

I would love a copy of Furiously Happy!

  608. Holy frijoles!! Is this still happening?? Can I get a Furiously Happy? That would be great. You’re great. Also, I live in TX, so cheaper shipping?? I’m already saving you money. Look at me go.

  609. Either! But if I had to pick, Let’s Pretend This Never Happened! The stories would be really fun to listen to while running 🙂 No wait…Furiously Happy, because it would be really cathartic! AH! Either!

  610. I love paying for the next person in line! Makes your whole day just amazing

  611. After owning Furiously Happy since it came out, I have finally sat down to start reading it, but with a small human to care for, it’s taking a lot longer. I’d love a copy of it to listen to on my hour drive into work. But I’m just happy you won an award!

  612. Oh gosh I’d love a copy of Furiously Happy. I’d like to BE furiously happy, come to think of it. Have a lovely day!

  613. I already have your books so no need to add me to the list. I just wanted to say that I love spotting your Blythe doll collection. I would love to read a post dedicated to them. I am a collector myself. Do you own any Kenners?

  614. Squee! This weekend my long lost cousin found us (her biological family), and she’s already like a sister. If I won a copy of Furiously Happy by my blogging hero, I think I would die! <3

  615. Someone at the McDonald’s in Leeds, Alabama bought my breakfast a few weeks ago and you’re absolutely right–it makes your day and then gives you a chance to make someone else’s day, too. I started it forward this morning and when I told the cashier I wanted to pay for the car behind me, it didn’t fluster her at all, so I suspect it happens a good deal. I love it!

  616. Furiously happy would be an environmental and financial delight. Oh either really! My daughter and I discovered it by accident on iBooks on a flight AU-US and laughed till it hurt our ribs the whole way there reading aloud to one another. Other passengers did not stab us which is a surprise as we were so annoying on such a long haul flight but less of a surprise as there are no sharp implements on planes anymore. We will listen then LOAN to other families then DEMAND BACK UNGRACIOUSLY then listen again and again, in the car this time whilst reliving that awesome holiday but without the jet lag or sadly any of that nice hipster coffee from the Beards at Stumpies on 29th st. Thanks for joining us on that holiday Jenny you defined it. You and the gay pride taxidermied squirrel display we saw on 6th. You can holiday with us anytime. Happy breakfasting or maybe as I see I am comment 22,453 that’s done now. I hope that was a really big box of speaking books. You have inspired me now to put blog first not other peeps’ work and write first before I toil once everyone is out the door this morning. Thx for getting me back on the horse/gay pride squirrel.

  617. Your books have saved me and have made me feel less alone. I think about them all the time. Thank you for your honesty and humor. I’d love to hear your voice reading these books, either book. They were both so beautiful.

  618. Omg! I’d love both of them, but since you’re making me pick…I drew straws. LPTNH drew the short straw, so Furiously Happy, it is!

  619. I really, really, really would love to win Furiously Happy. I spend a ton of time in the car and would probably finish it in under a week. Then I solemnly swear to pass it along.

  620. I would love a copy of one or both and in return will pay it forward in some way.. I could use some sunshine in my life right now. You brought laughter into my life at the perfect time. Thank you for that…

  621. Furiously Happy! Please oh please. That book got me the such a rough time. Love you!

  622. Belated congratulations on your Audie : D. Free breakfast is such a wonderful surprise! Thanks for the chance to win audio : D.

  623. I want Furiously Happy, please. Congratulations! Once, a hairdresser paid for my lunch. A month later, I brought my husband in to get his hair cut by her on his birthday. It was awesome all around.

  624. It would be really great if you wanted to share a copy with my sister. We’ve both struggled with depression for a long time, and your book was great for me and I think it would be great for her. Thanks, and congratulations no matter what!

  625. I would love a copy of Furiously Happy. I have it but my daughter moved to Georgia before she could read it and I don’t want my copy to travel that far from me. I know she would love it!

  626. I would love a copy of Lets Pretend. It would be great to listen to while up in the middle of the night with a new baby…

  627. A copy of Let’s Pretend This Never Happened would be awesome!

  628. If I had a choice I’d go for Let’s pretend this never happened. I’d love one but you’ve probably handed out 100 by now at least. I love your writing-makes me believe I can see the world with a whole new perspective.

  629. Let’s Pretend This Never Happened!! Oh please! I read this book while meeting my daughter for the first time in Ethiopia. No jet lag could compete with the giggles I had!

  630. I would love a copy of Furiously Happy! And I would Pay it forward after a listen!

  631. I would love either!! I recently got my hair done and was reading your book while waiting… My hairstylist had pointed out that she read Furiously Happy recently too and she loved it. She even loved it so much she bought the audio book that you yourself had recorded and said it was amazing. It got her through a hard time in her life as the book is currently helping me through one now. It is hilarious just to read and I can only imagine how much better it is to actually hear you read it!! Thank you for writing and sharing your stories! It really has helped me through a lot in my life right now! I haven’t read Lets Pretend this Never Happened but I am anxiously awaiting it in the mail!! 🙂

  632. Furiously Happy Please!!! I’ve already read Let’s Pretend This Never Happened several times, but had a baby and haven’t gotten to your second book yet. Glad you’re having a great day!

  633. I would love to hear an Audie \award winner do Lets Pretend . I have been telling everyone I know to get Furiously Happy. Some give me strange looks until I tell them its a book

  634. I would LOVE Let’s Pretend This Never Happened. You make me so happy and brighten my days. Thank you!

  635. I would LOVE a cd of Let’s Pretend this Never Happened. I love them both, but that’s the one I read when I’m blue. My favorite chapter is “Jenkins, you Motherfucker!”

  636. I want Let’s pretend this never happened, makes me laugh no matter how many times I read it.

  637. I would like Let’s Pretend This Never Happened. I’m so very happy you won! 🙂

  638. Let’s pretend it never happened? An audiobook of mine own would be awesome, the library one is oversubscribed!!! Thanks very much!

  639. Listening to you reading “Furiously Unhappy” would help me get through a very though time right now. Loved the book, but I am so low I can not even re-read it now. You are the noblest of unicorns 😉

  640. Oh dear I would be happy with either one! I decided running over a stump with the riding mower was a good idea today. Turns out that’s NOT a good idea.

  641. Oooh, oooh, pick me, pick me! “Let’s Pretend This Never Happened” would make me furiously happy– it’s my favorite book off all time (and I’m a bookseller so I’ve read a LOT of books!)

  642. Furiously Happy! Also, congrats on the major award. Much better than a leg lamp!

  643. I’ve read both books, but have not listened to you read them. I hope you use lots of inflection and sound effects….I’d love to get a copy and find out 🙂

  644. I would love either! I will pay a coffee for the person behind me today, in honor of your post. xx

  645. You told me there were no more CD’s…
This is obviously kismet, I would love a copy of Let’s Pretend This Never Happened!
    Truly, madly, deeply

  646. I would love to have Furiously Happy. I purchased the audiobook but would love to have a copy to lend to my clients to let them know the whole world is f***ed up and be happy about it darn it! You don’t have the corner on pain so get over yourself! Ha. Plus I want to know that milk came out of their nose like it did mine when I was listening to your book and eating cereal. Boy did that hurt! Now, go write another one. Right now!

  647. Lets pretend this didn’t happen. I got your furiously happy the other day and it had my smiling from ear to ear and laughing like a goon in my husband’s office. Plus you one time posted the weird things your readers look up and I was the one who said why is my cat sniffing my right eye. It turns out I had cataracts…how fucking crazy is that. My cat caught my cataracts…I don’t know if they could use him in hospitals like the cats that can tell who is dying but it’s close right?!?!!? OcraCoke00@gmail.com you know you want to…
or OcraCoke00@hotmail.com or however you want to give it to me 🙂

  648. My greedy 10 year old said I would request both. Typical boy/jerk. I am not picky in the least, so if I am chosen I’ll by a copy of EACH book to add to said greedy child’s Little Free Library. Hell, I might just do that anyway. Love from Jo Mama in Alaska

  649. furiously happy i am reading right now and i love it lets pretend this never happened was a great book as well and helped me reall except my weirdness i love everything you do and are as a person thank u! so i would love furiously happy!

  650. Oh, if I do get picked, I guess I need to give you may email address.

  651. I would love either of them. They both have helped me so much. It’s nice to not feel so alone with anxiety issues. Thanks for shedding light in the darkness. 😘😊

  652. Either would be a lovely surprise. Your little Texan accent saying “fuck” is the most sweetly naughty thing ever, so whichever you found more saucy?

  653. I would love a copy of furiously happy. You came to my town what was supposed to be the day after I finished my comprehensive exams for my PhD, but because we had bad weather, my test start date was delayed a day and I couldn’t come see you. I just got diagnosed with bipolar disorder and I guess that partially explains why, even though I passed, I’ve been too depressed to want to do anything other than go to work and come home. I’ve been meaning to buy furiously happy forever, but I just haven’t been able to get myself to go to a bookstore and get it.

  654. I would LOVE a copy of Let’s Pretend This Never Happened! I could use the laughs.

  655. What a wonderful gesture (both your giveaway and the stranger paying for your meal!). I would love a copy of Let’s Pretend This Never Happened, and not just because my birthday’s on Friday! 😉

  656. I absolutely adored LPTNH….I haven’t read FH yet, but I can’t help but think how lovely it would be to have you read it to me. (Or anyone…but I’d love it more if it was you.) You know, it’s your book so if you read it and you feel like making an aside note you could make the book EVER so much longer and MORE AWESOME by doing it.

I’m just saying, you know, you’d be doing us all a fantastic favor by sharing even more of your awesomeness with us.

  657. Dear Jenny,
I was going to write a whole big paragraph but I was in really bad state of depression today and i don’t have the energy to even write this but your posts and your blog make me feel good so I would really love:
    Let’s pretend this never happened.
P.s. if you could autograph it that would be awesome!!!!
    Sincerely,
    Fellow mentally ill girl

  658. You just accompanied me on a road trip by reading “Let’s Pretend,” to me so sweetly, I snorted an uncountable number of times. I am on the waitlist at my library for Furiously, so, if you’re asking, I would ask for Rory. And you are so flippin’ kind to your fans!

  659. I’ll celebrate with you! Congrats on the Audie I’d LOVE a copy of Furiously Happy!

  660. Don’t need either. I’ve got both and have already listened multiple times. You rock! I love that I’m not the only one with unique random thoughts. I got a co-worker to read your books. We can agree which is best but love them both.

  661. I’d love a copy of “Let’s Pretend this Never Happened.” I would play it for my Beyonce.

  662. I would love to read either book! I listen to books all day at work, why have I not listened to these yet??
    P.S. I love you too!

  663. Let’s Pretend! I loved reading the paper version, would love to hear it!

  664. Furiously Happy! I already have Let’s Pretend This Never Happened (on audiobook AND hardback!), but I’m a little poorer this time so I only have the hardback and you know what? I’d like it a whole lot but chances are someone else needs it more than me so nevermind?

  665. Loved Furiously Funny could I have a copy of your first release

  666. I’d love a copy of Furiously Happy. I will give it to my eldest child who could really use it. I have wanted to send it from me, but that will guarantee it won’t be read. :*). Thanks for spreading the kindness.

  667. I guess I am a greedy bitch and want both. Best books I’ve ever read. EVER!!!!!

  668. I’d love a copy of Furiously Happy. I will give it to my eldest child who could really use it. I have wanted to send it from me, but that will guarantee it won’t be read. :*). Thanks for spreading the kindness.

  669. Oh Jenny! I LOVED Let’s Pretend (et al) and I so need to read Furiously Happy. Please please please give it to me and I’ll be furiously happy too. xo

  670. I would love a copy of Furiously Happy, because you and Rory and all your crew have shown me that being gifted of a cat’s ass towel holder is a HUGE compliment and laughter will never grow old!

  671. I would like a copy of Furiously Happy, but I would be just as pleased with a copy of Let’s Pretend. There are many people in my life who need Furiously Happy, but if the audiobook of Let’s Pretend is anything like hearing you read a chapter live, I will cherish every moment and may wet my pants from laughing.

  672. I have both on audio book already, and have listened multiple times. Just want to thank you for being so honest about your mind and its attempts to eat itself, mine is also a cannibal! Your voice and stories have been my therapy many occasions. Thank you for giving others the chance to hear you! Also….I’m the gal you just tagged you in a link for a Hunter S. Tomcat shirt. 😉

  673. Can’t think of a better brightener than a copy of Furiously Happy. That would make me Furiously Happy too.

  674. I’d love to be entered into the drawing for Let’s Pretend This Never Happened!

  675. Let’s pretend this never happened!! I haven’t read it yet but LOVE furiously happy!!

  676. It would make my day so furiously happy if I could get a copy of ‘Let’s Pretend This Never Happened”. 🙂

  677. I’d love to have Let’s Pretend! I was going to reread it, but would love to have you read it to me instead (plus, I lent my copy to someone, and I’m not quite sure who…)

  678. I would love love love, Let’s Pretend This Never Happened !

  679. When you said unexpected box of audio books, I didn’t realize at first you meant they were of your books. I would love an audio copy of Let’s Pretend this Never Happened

  680. I would love either. I’m number 26 on the holds list at the library for the audio book of Furiosly Happy.

  681. I haven’t read (or listened to) Furiously Happy! Would love to win it!!

  682. I’ve already read Let’s Pretend, so I’d LOVE the audio book of Furiously Happy!

  683. I would LOVE to have either one. Please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  684. I’d love a copy of either one, though I haven’t read Furiously Happy yet, so if I HAD to choose I’d chose that. But I’m also not picky.

  685. A new fan..would love Furious Happy. And, I promise to pass it on when finished!

  686. I would love a copy of Let’s Pretend This Never Happened. My copy was destroyed in the flooding that hit Columbia, SC back in October, and I haven’t had a chance to replace it, yet. I hadn’t yet read Furiously Happy, and so when it came down to a choice between the one I’ve read and the one I haven’t, well…I just had to read Furiously Happy. Not only has it been so good for me, it was also great for my daughter, who also deals with a lot of anxiety and depression, just like Mom…helped her to feel a great deal less lonely in the world.

  687. I would adore a copy of Furiously Happy because I would love to hear the story of the raccoon on Ferris Mewler at two am in your voice. Thanks!

  688. I’d love a Furiously Happy. I see so much of me in that book that it’s a little frightening, in a wonderful way that means maybe i am crazy, but at least I’m in good company!

  689. I’d like Let’s Pretend This Never Happened, please–it may be the only way I can get my mom to read the book, because I really think she’d enjoy it immensely (especially since she’s at least partially to blame for my own warped sense of humor), but getting her to actually sit down with a book is another story, since she reads very slowly. Either way, I’m glad you had a terrific something happen today!

  690. I would love to have a copy of Furiously Happy! And I will happily donate it to my small local library when finished!

  691. Let’s Pretend, please? Thank you for offering all of us a chance at winning an audio copy of your books!!

  692. I have both of your books, they were a gift from a friend who thought I need to read them….Just finished Furiously Happy. Tried to stretch it out as long as I could, but I’m done. Thank you….. Also wondered if you had ever heard the song “Waves” by Elise Hayes….. Stella..
Thank you again for making me feel normal…. Or at least okay that I’m not…

  693. I want the one with the dead mouse, because its hard to read when you diriving to work …then school…then workd #2 then home =)

  694. I would love to have a copy of Furiously Happy for my 14 y/o daughter. She has been diagnosed with secer social anxiety and depression and I’m pretty sure it would definitely help her smile during her down times.

  695. Oh yes! I have a road trip coming up this summer and I would love to be able to listen to Furiously Happy while driving!

  696. Hi there,

I was gifted your book “Furiously Happy” by my cousin during one of those chain mail “the world needs more books” rounds

He gave it to me because he overheard my Aunt reading it and laughing so much. When he asked her why she was laughing so much, she said “this sounds like it could be about my life” He wrote a note and told me to read it when i needed a laugh.

THANK YOU SO MUCH for writing such a true life book. Your blog and books have touched so many people and i enjoy reading your posts.

I have since gifted this book onto 7 other people. You have such a talent for writing. Don’t ever give it up.

    xo

  697. I’d love either one! My sister has chronic illnesses that make reading difficult for her, but I think she’d really enjoy your books. An audiobook would be perfect for her!

  698. It is such a simple way to make someone’s day a bit brighter. My favorite random act. If there are any left I would adore either one in audio format. Have them in print but so often am not up to reading and to be able to listen would be awesome.

  699. Furiously Happy 😀 Your book has given me the strength to keep going through one of the hardest depressions I had in my life this year and you are probably the only reason I smiled and laughed haha Thank you for giving me a chance at being happy again Jenny 🙂 Thank you

  700. Furiously Happy would be great. Love following you throughout my day.

  701. I am happy that someone made your day and that you have decided to “pay it forward.” I would love to have Furiously Happy as it has made me extremely happy and like you, I would ” pay it forward” but NOT with the gift that you sent me but with something else that would make them happy.

  702. Furiously Happy! I read the book when I was going through some really stressful things at work and switching jobs. I flip the book open and read random chapters when I’m feeling anxious or on the verge of a panic attack. I’d love to have the audiobook to listen to with headphones at work or in my car when I’m feeling anxious or stressed and unable to read! Your humor and honesty is a gift to your fellow anxiety and depression sufferers who do all they can to still be fucking furiously happy!

  703. Lets Pretend This Never Happned please ma’am. It’s the only thing that helps me get through my tough times.. ❤️

  704. Lets Pretend This Never Happned please ma’am. It’s the only thing that helps me get through my tough times..

  705. One time my husband and I were going through a Tim Horton’s drive thru in separate cars. I told the lady that I would like to pay for the car behind me as well. She replied, “Are you sure? He’s like getting a sandwich and everything!” I just wrote a post about the awesomeness I experienced in a drive thru this morning. Hope you like it.

  706. The only thing better than reading these stories would be hearing them. Furiously Happy please 🙂

  707. We would love Furiously Happy! We listened to Let’s Pretend This Never Happened and laughed our asses off.

  708. Furiously Happy would be my choice as it would make me…. well yes, Furiously Happy! 🙂 with thanks from Vancouver Island.

  709. Let’s Pretend This Never Happened! It really made me laugh and I have been trying to find the audio book for ages now. Glad to hear someone could brighten your day just because :3

  710. I would love Furiously Happy since I haven’t had a chance to get ahold of it yet.

I was at a restaurant with my parents a few weeks ago and a woman came up to our table and tried to pay for our dinner. It was seriously one of the sweetest things I’ve had happen in a long time. Sometimes it’s too easy to forget there are good people out there.

  711. Oh, how sweet! One day I will start that chain of kindness. . .one day.
In any case, I’d love a copy of Let’s pretend. Thanks so much for the opportunity! 🙂

  712. I’d love either of them for the next 14 hour drive to visit the parents. We find podcasts etc great for staying awake!

  713. Paying it forward at the drive thru makes it so easy to do a random act of kindness. I will admit to paying attention to how long the person behind me takes to order so I don’t buy for their whole office. I also try to get away as quick as I can cuz having to talk to a stranger is a whole lot harder than buying them coffee.

Reading through all the comments to get to the end made me wish that I could send a copy of either of your books to those that have to choose the necessities of life over the treat of a great book. Since I have both I don’t need to be entered for any. But I would love it if there was a way I could send one to someone who really needs it. “Always remember…depression lies”. Truly changed how I view and handle my chronic clinical depression. For that, I can never thank you enough.

  714. Could I possibly maybe have Furiously Happy? Although I’d be very happy with either, Furiously Happy made me cry and read things to my husband.

  715. Lets pretend this never happened, because i already looove furiously happy, besides sometimes i need to pretend THIS never happend….(and i need a laugh 😉

  716. Would love a copy of Lets Pretend this never happened. Love your blog!

  717. I would love an audiobook version of Let’s Pretend This Never Happened!

  718. I would love, love! furiously happy. Or let’s pretend this never happened. I’m not picky. Really. Either would be awesome!

  719. My sister suffers from depression. Just today she was telling me how she felt she was literally pulling herself out of a black pit. She said if she could let me see into her brain that I would see how she was on the edge of an abyss pulling herself out of the pit but that she was dangling, Not up not out just hanging there. Either book would be a wonderful gift.

  720. Gimmie, gimmie, gimmie… I don’t read as much as I used to and my wife has been trying to get me to read these for a good while. She’s read me some bits and pieces that had me laughing so I know I’d enjoy them if I just had the time… and an audio book would be so much easier. I’d realllllllllly love to hear them both… but if you’re gonna be mean and make me pick just one… I’d go with “Lets Pretend This Never Happened”, I mean how can I not wanna hear someone actually speak the story about walking INTO a deer… and I do mean.. IN TO.

  721. Pfft. I don’t want an audiobook. I want you to come read me the book at bedtime and act out the voices with various taxidermied animals. A dead animal puppet show. Now THAT would be a giveaway.

  722. FURIOUSLY HAPPY!!! This book cam at the PERFECT (terrible, awful, struggle-filled, medical-school induced) time in my life, and I am beyond excited to read it again.

  723. I would love either one. I first “met” you with the story of Beyonce’… I’ve laughed and cried with you ever since. Thanks for being you!

  724. I would be FURIOUSLY HAPPY if you could send me an audiobook!!!!!!! Don’t own a stuffed raccoon, but do have a family of raccoons in my backyard tree, and feed them generously. They like everything except salad and vegetables, so of course I love them, and was thrilled when your second book featured a grinning raccoon on the cover.

  725. That’s awesome that someone made your day and that you were able to make someone else’s day! I would love Furiously Happy.

  726. Definitely let’s pretend. Thank you…always…for opening my eyes. I’m not alone.

  727. I am a librarian, and I apologetically push your books in any shape or form. Like drugs, but better.

  728. I surprise people with copies of your books! I choose a friend that I think needs to read them and then just order through Amazon. It is fun to see them post on FB that someone sent them a couple of awesome books and they don’t know who sent them

  729. I’d love Let’s Pretend This Never Happened. Humor is always good during long drives for work 😊

  730. I think Let’s Pretend This Never Happened might be just what I need on my morning commute to help me forget the many horrifying things that happen on a Chicago train…

  731. I have both but I would like to give my Mom a copy of Let’s Pretend This Never Happened so she can laugh so hard on long car trips that she almost goes off the road – almost.

  732. Let’s Pretend This Never Happened. I was people to see me laugh/crying in my car during morning commute and wonder what’s going on in there.

  733. I’d like Furiously Happy; I already have your first audiobook. Thanks for sharing the happy. You rock, Jenny!

  734. Let’s pretend this never happened! Listening to furiously happy, love it! I loved reading it also but you are an excellent audio book voice person!

  735. I would absolutely love a copy of Furiously Happy. Thanks for all you do!!

  736. I would love Lets Pretend This Didn’t Happen. It’s what really introduced me to you and this blog and the gift I continue to give all my friends! You rock!

  737. I would love a copy of let’s pretend this never happened. I’ve read it over and over again and it could only be better if I got to hear you reading it. Love that your free breakfast inspired you to pass it on. I always wonder if it works when I have done it in the past.

  738. Furiously Happy would be amazing! And also that is totally sweet of the person in front of you 🙂 there are good people out there.

  739. I would love to hear Let’s Pretend This Never Happened in your very own voice.

  740. I’d love a copy of either book, if you have any left. I love that one small act of kindness can so delightfully inspire us to share that joy. It’s like getting to opportunity to be someone’s fairy godparent for a little while. How could anything be better?

  741. Oh, gosh. I am not picky and would be delighted to have either one! (Of course I’m probably late to the party but it’s worth a shot, right? I’m a Pollyanna sort of girl, dammit!)

  742. Eenie, meenie, miney, moe…. ARGGGHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!! Let’s Pretend This Never Happened. I already read Furiously Happy in your voice (in my mind, as I read it). I didn’t know what you sounded like when I read Let’s Pretend This Never Happened.

  743. You sharing your stories help me share mine. And right when I need it, you remind I’m not alone and tha depression lies. Thank you.

I would love either – but Let’s Pretend almost got me kicked off a plane because I couldn’t stop laughing/crying enough to answer the flight attendant….

  744. I would love a Furiously Happy one to give to my daughter. She deals with depression and anxiety, but is currently doing her counseling internship for her psychology masters. She read Furiously Happy and it SO resonated with her.

  745. I already have Let’s Pretend This Never Happened in audio (and hardcover… and paperback) I would love to hear Furiously Happy in your voice. I mean your literal voice not just your voice literarily speaking. That’s probably not really a word, but hopefully you smell what I’m stepping in because if I keep thinking about it for too long my brain will hurt…

  746. Oh my goodness, I would be overjoyed to receive either one. Thank you for being your awesome self, even if you don’t randomly select me to win a copy. <3

  747. I have the audio of let’s pretend, but I’d love an audio of Furiously Happy.

  748. I’d love Let’s Pretend this Never Happened. I’m listening to Furiously Happy now and I feel so much less alone or stigmatized with my mental illness.

  749. I WANT TO FEEL FURIOUSLY HAPPY!!! Listening to you read your book may just do it! (“Do it” just autocorrected to “donut” which also might do it. That sentence is as circular as your breakfast story…now I want your book and a donut.)

  750. I had someone in line ahead of me buy my coffee once and it too made my day! 🙂 I’d love a copy of Let’s Pretend…I read it when I was HUGELY pregnant with my son and thought I would go into early labor from laughing so hard. You’re the greatest! 🙂

  751. I’ll take either one, please! Perfect entertainment to make the time on the treadmill go more quickly. Plus all the extra energy expended laughing the whole time :o)

  752. I love when people do nice things! 🙂

I’d happily take either audiobook off your hands.

  753. Would love a copy of happy for my girlfriend, she makes me read to her at night when I need to be studying my school work. We both love your books but only one of us is willing to read them.
    Tony and Brittney

  754. Furiously Happy! I will even pass it on to someone else when I finish reading it if I win 🙂

  755. I’d love Let’s Pretend this Never Happened. I’m listening to Furiously Happy now and I feel so much less alone or stigmatized with my mental illness.

  756. Furiously Happy! Im waiting for it on hold at the library but would love to have my own copy!

  757. Would love either to pass on to my non-reading sister who could use these help her through some tough stuff!

  758. I would love Furiously Happy, and I promise that either way, tomorrow there will be a person getting breakfast on me.

  759. I’ve only just finished Furiously Happy, and loved it! I feel foolish, but I really didn’t think there were others like me, which makes me feel exquisitely normal.
I would so love a copy of Lets Pretend this Never Happened to see what that one is all about! Thank you for sharing with us Jenny :o)

  760. I would love Let’s Pretend This Never Happened! Because I already have Furiously Happy as an audiobook. 🙂

  761. I would love let’s pretend this never happened because i think it would be entertaining on car trips! I’ve read both books and loved them!

  762. Oh God, Yes! Furiously Happy would be a fantastic treat. You have made my day so many times that I’m Furiously Happy no matter who gets your lovely audio book. Thank you for sharing so many wonderful posts with the world. I think they of them as essential for my mental and emotional hygiene. Many blessings!

  763. i would like a copy of lets pretend this never happened please 🙂

  764. I would love Furiously Happy, i’m currently reading the other… It is amazing!

  765. Furiously Happy!!!!
I’m a therapist at a youth challenge academy for 16-18 year olds and I recommend your books to the cadets and staff!!!

  766. I’d love either, but haven’t had a chance to read Furiousky Happy yet. Or listen to anything but Kids Bop 872.

  767. I would be so ecstatic to get Let’s Pretend this Never Happened as an audio book!

  768. I so need a bit of furiously happy in my life right now, I’m struggling this week

  769. I’d love Lets Pretend this Never Happened to get me through my long boring work days! I’m in a section of my building all by myself so I’m always looking for something to listen to!

    Congrats on the Audie!

  770. How can one choose between awesome, and (insert something clever that sufficiently matches ‘awesome’)?!

  771. Furiously Happy. As I still need to acquire a copy of it. Its literally the first book i’ve read that talked about anxiety/mental disorders/depression where I was able to go “This person GETS it.”

  772. Oh, wow! First of all–love the random act of kindness that keeps on giving! Wouldn’t it be crazy great if that was just the way things were all the time? (Okay, it might get old and annoying.) I love BOTH of your books and would be thrilled to hear either one in your voice!!! Surprise me! Yay!!!

  773. Working in a prison and having to help people find happiness despite circumstances and daily reminders of poor choices, I could use some Furiously Happy. 😉

  774. I’d love Furiously Happy for my husband! He’s just discovered the joys of audio books, which allows him to beat me in total number of books read so far this year, punk. Anyway, we’re moving to a nearby city next month and it would be great if he had something new to listen to during his commute!:)

I’m glad a stranger made your day and you’re sharing the love! Thank you!

  775. Well if you want to give one away I would love Lets Pretend This Never Happened. It would be great for my girlfriend and I to listen to as we cry from laughing.

  776. I would love an audio copy of furiously happy 🙂
I can’t seem to find the focus to read lately even though I love, love, love books.
    Thanks for the chance 🙂

  777. I would love a copy of LPTNH! My husband got the audio book on his phone, and we were about halfway through it when the phone updated and ate our copy. I’ve since read it but would love to hear you finish reading it!

  778. I got a free donut at the Dunkin Donuts on the Kansas Turnpike on Friday. We were on our way to Kansas City for a weekend get away and I had to get the van packed up by myself because my hubby was at work and on top of it, I had a sick one year old who had been screaming at me for 4 days straight now. I wanted to cry and hug the guy when he said there was no charge. Oh, and please, please, please can I have a free copy of either.

  779. I would love to have a copy of “Let’s Pretend This Never Happened”. It will be fantastic to hear your words in your voice. 🙂

  780. Let’s pretend…cause you made me giggle and belly laugh till I cried~

  781. Let’Pretend! cause you made me giggle and belly laugh until I ctied~ love love love

  782. I suppose they’re all gone but I’d take either one! I like to start with a first book but honestly I’d read your shopping lists (now I want to read those too).

  783. I’m just a tad late to the replies, but just i’m case….

Let’s Pretend This Never Happened 😁😁😁

  784. I have my signed (by YOU!) copy of Let’s Pretend sitting on my lap RIGHT NOW… But I’m too tired to read. Maybe the audio book would solve this problem? Certainly I have enough energy to LISTEN to you, right? Especially when I’m driving the Boy around for summer activities. Yes!!!

  785. yeah i wouldn’t mind a copy of either one really. “Furious” helped me… cope would be a good word… with something that shattered me. She loved “pretend” immensely and i think she would have loved this one too.

  786. I’d like “Furiously Happy,” if you still have one! And what a cool thing to happen!

  787. I’d love either. I’ll listen to it while eating pickles and judging my neighbors.

  788. Seriously?! I have to make a decision? Oh crap. I want one. You choose. I need to go to bed. My head wants to explode in the humidity. Do you have humidity there?

  789. Ferociously happy! And can I say to you, thank you for making not just my day but my life! You have help me through so much over the years, by reminding me that things will get better and depression does lie. Because of you and the wonderful people that you have brought together. I’ve gotten through every self loathing thought saying I’m not good enough. And because of that I was able to find the love of my life and married him just last week, in the Bahamas no less 🙂 you inspire me and everyone around you. THANK YOU!!!

  790. I would love love love to win Furiously Happy! Please! 🙂
Mind you, I think I would be almost as happy winning Let’s Pretend This Never Happened, because apparently libraries don’t like you to keep the books you borrow…

  791. I would adore a copy of Let’s pretend this never happened. I already have furiously happy, thank you so much for putting a smile on my face. Much love.

  792. I would love a copy of either book actually. I absolutely loved both of them!!

  793. I love it when people do that! And I would love to have my own copy of either book.

  794. Furiously Happy is one of the most valuable books to me since it has allowed my depressed mother, my cousin who has MS and me to connect over something positive. Thank you so much for what you have given our family.
If the audio version of it is as amazing as the audio version of Let’s Pretend this Never Happened ( a dimwits it is!), I would love a copy!

  795. Let’s Pretend This Never Happened- my boyfriend (now ex) introduced me to Furiously Happy so now I want I have to read the first!

  796. I would LOVE a copy of Furiously Happy! My son would probably love it as well, since there would be something new to listen to in the car other than my audiobook of Let’s Pretend This Never Happened;)

  797. Both were amazing, but I’ve got to go with Let’s Pretend This Never Happened. Never laughed harder in my whole life!

  798. I would LOVE “Let’s Pretend” because I need more Beyoncé in my life. Seriously.

Unrelated but since I’m leaving a comment, you saying “Depression lies” has helped me more than you could ever know. Thank you for that.

  799. I haven’t read Furiously Happy, yet, so that would be the one I’d love to have! I was just reading a friend’s comment today on Facebook about how awesome it is to hear you read your own books on tape, and then up pops this opportunity! Cool.

  800. Furiously Happy please!!! I already have Let’s Pretend This Never Happened so I need the other to complete the set. Love ya!

  801. “Furiously Happy” gave me permission to be who I am. Also your line about depression being a liar has made my life better. Would love a copy of your first book on CD.

  802. I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to have a copy of Let’s Pretend This Never Happened! I could listen to you tell the story of your cat/suspected serial killer passing notes under the bathroom door every damn day!

  803. I pay for someone once a month or so but It happened to me at dunks the other day – we had just found out my 4 year old outgrew his egg allergy, so we celebrated by getting him his first munchkin (which someone else ended up buying). So they were part of a pretty special dunks run 🙂 and I haven’t read furiously happy yet if you’re giving them away! Loved let’s pretend 🙂

  804. Omg, Let’s Pretend this Never Happened, please! I taught Meat Science classes at OSU for 2 yrs and the stores you wrote made me laugh so hard!

  805. I would love to have Furiously Happy so My wife can listen and then maybe understand why i laugh so hard I cry when reading Let’s pretend this never happened. She does not read, but this way she could listen and understand why it makes me so happy!

  806. I’m not picky– I would love a copy of either one! 🙂

  807. Furiously Happy because I could completely relate to it, it’s laugh-out-loud funny, and I want to give it to my bestie who lives far away. Oh, and… Beaver Baby!!!

  808. I would love either one! Furiously Happy changed/saved my life, but I checked it out from the library so I don’t own it, and I just started Let’s Pretend This Never Happened. Gah I would love to listen to either, but if I’m too late I totally understand :).

  809. Let’s pretend this never happened! I have a friend who needs a reason to laugh.

  810. This is so sweet! Thank you for sharing it. People can be so good. It’s nice to have reminders. 🙂

I loved “Let’s Pretend ..” and “Furiously Happy” is on my list. 😀

If you have one to spare, I’d love to hear you read “Let’s Pretend This Never Happened.” (which I own two copies of because I am a forgetful Mom, but also because I love it!! SQUIRREL!

  811. I’d love a copy of Furiously Happy.

A few years ago, I went to check out at the grocery store, and my card didn’t go through. I had just checked my balance, but what I didn’t know was my gas bill auto-paid right after I checked. I started to leave, red-faced & teary, and the cashier came up & said “It’s taken care of. Somebody saw, and paid for your groceries.” Then I was teary for a different reason. And I was embarrassed because I was getting like chips & ice cream, not just essentials. Ever since then, if I’m able, I’ll cover someone’s groceries if I see they don’t have enough money. I’ve done that maybe 6-7 times since then. That one generous act spawned several others. I think that’s how it usually works.

  812. I love audio books and would love either book, but considering over 11,000 people beat me to commenting I don’t imagine I made the cut lol. Jenny you are wonderful and generous and I envy those that get to know you and spend time with you…bastards lol . 🙂

  813. I’d love a copy of Lets pretend this never happened as its ages since I’ve read it and I gave it away to my friend so don’t even have it any more. I have just finished Furiously happy so that’s still fresh in my mind – although no longer in my house as I passed it on to another friend. You know what I’ve just realised – how lucky my friends are to have me in their lives – I must save them a fortune on Amazon! ;-D

  814. Jenny, I would love a copy of Furiously Happy. I am very likely to be put on bed rest very soon due to bleeding during my pregnancy. I LOVED Let’s Pretend This Never Happened and am currently on the wait list at my library for Furiously Happy. That list is so slow! But I know your books and the audio copy would make the bedrest slightly more tolerable. Thanks!

  815. I posted the anonymous comment at 8:11, my phone wouldn’t let me edit the name and email!

  816. I actually have both on audio and in hard back so I don’t need one, but want to know what the dolls are called in the background of the picture. My 18 year old daughter would love to start a collection. She is one of your biggest fans and your books help her through her anxiety. She tells me how your voice calms her in the middle of her worst panic attacks. We love you!

  817. Would love a copy of Let’s Pretend This Never Happened (If you have any left), which is how I view most of the things I do these days :-), Thank you for always brightening the world, you are an inspiration!

  818. When we move outside ourselves to be inside someone else’s moment…a unique gift of not just survival but LIFE occurs. Good reminder today to not only “Pay It Forward” but “Start It Moving”.

  819. Let’s pretend this never happened would be a go to long stressful work commute audio book. It never fails to make me feel better & less isolated when I read it. Hearing it would be even better!

  820. I would LOVE a copy of Let’s Pretend this Never Happened. That way I can laugh myself silly on cross country plane trips

  821. I already have the audiobook of Let’s Pretend This Never Happened, but I’d love a copy of Furiously Happy!

  822. Wow, I am from Brazil and I bought furiously happy (alucinadamente feliz) last week and I want to tell that is a nice book. It made my days better.
    Congratulations.

  823. I would absolutely love to have an audio copy of Let’s Pretend This Never Happened. Both of your books have helped me so much, and LPTNH helped me by making me laugh until I nearly peed my pants.

  824. I’d be thrilled with either, but I especially want a copy of Let’s Pretend This Never happened. Although asking for it may be a death wish – I usually only listen to audiobooks while driving and it seems hazardous to laugh so much while in control of a vehicle. But at least I’ll die happy, right?

  825. I would love either one! I have been following your blog but never read/listened to one of your books (hangs head in shame)

  826. I would love either of your books. Both of them made me laugh so hard I needed my pain pills and had trouble getting to them because I was laughing so hard!

  827. Have had the great privilege and joy of hearing both. Would love Furiously Happy in order to give it to a dear friend who is struggling and would be lifted by your story.

  828. I want Furiously Happy. I loved your reading of Let’s Pretend This Never Happened, but I jumped the gun and got the paper version of Furiously Happy.

  829. Would it be too greedy to say I want both? I will take the chance! I love your writing, it has gotten me through many dark days and nights. Thank you!

  830. I love random acts of kindness 🙂 if there are audio books of either still available I’d love to have a copy! If you have both, I’d like Furiously Happy please!

  831. I want… yer mom. No, I want Furiously Happy. It was great. I started reading it again right after I finished it the first time and it was brand new again! HOW DID YOU DO IT? but I didn’t get to finish it the second time because I took it to my husband’s store so he could read it but I don’t think he has yet because he is a busy man. You’re amazing. I glad you haven’t given up the fight yet. Keep inspiring us to be Furiously Happy.

  832. Let’s Pretend This Never Happened. Haven’t read that one yet! I bet you reading it is marvelous

  833. You got an Audie? So cool! You can drop the “pretend”. 😉 I would love an audio copy of Furiously Happy. I’ve read both books several times, and they always lift my spirits. Thanks so much for sharing your stories with us.

  834. I commented yesterday but I think it may have been deleted for content (??). In any event, I’m a huge fan and I recommend your books frequently. I’m a little overwhelmed by life right now and I would LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to get a free audio copy of Furiously Happy!!!!!

  835. Little things in life!!! When that happened to me once it made my week! I would love a copy of Furiously Happy!

  836. WHAT A DILEMMA? !?!?! I have one opportunity to choose a book which could potentially change my life and how do I know which book to ask for.!!! Agh!!!!! Too much pressure. I’ll leave it up to the giver to choose. Judging by the number of comments I’m going to guess there won’t be enough to go around anyway. I gift people at drive-thrus often and it’s happened to me only once. I WILL NOT BE DISSUADED BY KARMA’s “Fuck you”. I will continue my quest to bring happiness to the masses.

  837. I somehow doubt you got 600 copies of each, but just in case there’s a random drawing, I’d love “Let’s Pretend.”

I was in the midst of doing a month-long “buy a stranger coffee” thing at the drive through when the woman in the car behind steamed up to my window and said, ‘WHAT’S THE BIG IDEA?”

    Kindness. It’s a big idea!

  838. Congrats on the Audie! I listen to books daily on my way to school (teacher) and I am listening to Furiously Happy right now. Love your voice, the English, although your actual voice is quite nice. I would love to hear Let’s Pretend This Never Happened during my Summer break because their are a few things from this school year that I would definitely like to pretend never happened.

  839. I took my fiancé and niece to NOLA and of course, found myself in a bookstore in the garden district. They had a cardboard cutout advertising Furiously Happy, we took pictures with it. When we got home, I checked the audio book out before my next business road trip and almost couldn’t make it to the prison from laughing so much (I talk to people at state prisons as part of my job). I would LOVE to own a copy. If you don’t pick me, it’s ok as I’m saving up for it but thought I’d throw my name in the hat anyway. Fingers crossed!

  840. I would choose Let’s Pretend This Never Happened. I lent my signed copy of the book to a friend and her dog ate it… So, I need it in some format! 🙂

  841. I do! Let’s Pretend this Never Happened please! It’s my favorite- some places made me cry and others made me laugh!

  842. I Love Love Love “Let’s Pretend This Never Happened” and would like to have a copy to take on a Girl’s Road Trip to Lily Dale, NY in August – want to introduce you to my best buds and think the book on CD would be great for the four of us to listen to on our 5+ hour long trip.

  843. Ok, Jenny, so maybe I caffeinated just a teensy bit too much today, but . . . if as a whole, we can change random number generation around the time of 9/11 (http://global-mind.org/) and turn a person’s day around with breakfast bought, imagine what we could all do if we really focused on the good. Mind-blowing:). At least, it is when you’re caffeinated . . .

  844. It’s easier to say why I wouldn’t want them, and that is because… because. Nope can’t come up with a reason I wouldn’t want a copy. Of course I hope you realize that it’s like Sophie’s Choice making your readers chose JUST ONE.

  845. I’m TOTALLY into audiobooks lately and I haven’t had a chance to read Furiously Happy yet (I know, shame on me!!!). So I would looooooooooooooooove that one! 🙂

Listening to audio books on my commute has done WONDERS for lessening my ridiculous road rage. Which then makes my days that much better.

  846. Your left wrist is of excellent quality. 10/10 would observe again.

  847. Oh my! This makes me smile! If I won, I’d love Furiously Happy! Thank you!

  848. A couple years ago on New Year’s Eve, I’d taken my son out for dinner at our local Red Robin. I had explained to him that since I was looking to buy a house, that things were going to get tighter and we wouldn’t be doing many dinners out. We had a lovely dinner and splurged one last time by getting dessert. The waiter brought our check and told us it’d been “taken care of” and handed me the receipt that just said “Happy New Year”. Our dinner had been paid for by the lovely young couple that had been in a booth off to our left. We were shocked and delighted. We decided to “pay it forward” that night to a pair of older women that ended up sitting in that same booth. It became a teaching moment for my son as I had never had this happen before. It’s something he still brings up from time to time.
I’d be well happy with either book. Love this blog!

  849. I would love either one, because then I could tell my husband how you captured my thought or feeling perfectly at the exact same time as you are reading that thought or feeling, and then we could effectively be telling him together, and the cacophony of voices would only further help him understand me as there are usually not less than two thoughts competing for attention in my head at any one time.

  850. I would love either book. They are both incredible!!! Paying it forward (or, I suppose in your case, paying it backwards?) is such an awesome surprise. I love surprising people with nice gestures!!

  851. I would be delighted to receive a copy of either, but find myself telling everyone they MUST READ Furiously Happy, so I lean slightly more toward that one. Glad you had a great day and thanks for offering the audiobooks up!

  852. I’d love to have a copy of Furiously Happy! I’m having some procedures done on my back and would love to be able to listen to your book while recovering.

  853. I don’t want them only because I already have them both in audio (and paper) book format but I wanted to say that the audio versions are awesome and you should listen to them even if you already read the paper version!

  854. I’d love a copy of Let’s Pretend This Never Happened! I keep it in my desk drawer at the office so whenever I’m having a bad day (or feel one coming on) I can pop it out, find an open quiet room, and let your stories make my day.

  855. I would love a copy of the audiobook ‘Let’s Pretend This Never Happened’ please.

  856. Was at the grocery store once. The lady in front of me was distressed as her card was not going through and it was obvious she needed the things on the belt (those basic household necessities we often take for granted). Didn’t even think twice and paid it for her. We shouldn’t have to go without the basics.

  857. Let’s pretend this never happened oh please and thank you!

  858. I don’t want one for me but for my younger sister. Years ago, when she was a junior in high school, she became pregnant and my parents insisted that she give the baby up for adoption. It was never talked about in the family -such a shameful thing back then. But..3 months ago, her daughter contacted my sister!! My sister is “furiously happy” as you can imagine. She not only has a daughter now but 3 grown grandchildren. So much love and light has entered her life and she deserves it all.

  859. I’d love a copy of Furiously Happy. I love both books, but I think Furiously Happy is my favorite.

  860. OH! I would really love Let’s Pretend This Never Happened…I’ve bought 3 copies of that book so far and ended up giving them all away; my misanthropic nature finally spoke up and I still have my copy of Furiously Happy 🙂

  861. I’d love a copy of Furiously Happy to listen to while I’m driving across Texas to dog events!

  862. would love a copy of Furiously Happy if you haven’t done the random picking yet : )

  863. Please send one, my sister needs “Let’s Pretend…” She is a reading specialist teacher and drives all of the time AND has to teach summer school, she also has MS and needs a laugh. Please, please, please.

  864. Lets pretend this never happened! (best book title EVER) by the way, and I adore those dolls so much but I cant figure out where to buy them! Pricy or not I need at least one in my life!!!!

  865. Holy .. Shit!! I bought this book thru Audible along with a load of other I have purchased loads of self help books only to find myself very happy. Following myself kicking my ass… I thought I was the only weirdo with depression OCD,ADD, and pull my hair I don’t know if it’s pleasure or punishment. The only thing is that I don’t like dead animals..😪 but I do sit and read books on cadavers or look thru the internet for dead bodies, or post mortem pictures. Thank you I went on Instagram and yelled I was fucken depressed.

  866. I’d love either one, but I’ll say “Let’s Pretend” for the sake of following instructions. I’ll be taking one of your books on a plane flight with my 2 children. I’m terrible afraid to fly so I hope it will keep me laughing all the way…

  867. I listened to “Furiously Happy” on a 30 hour-drive from ND back to CA. It changed my world! Highly recommend! 🙂

  868. I would love a copy of Let’s Pretend This Never Happened. When I read it the first time I laughed so hard I was crorting (<— that’s when you cry and snort at the same time. It’s real) and all the other people in the general vicinity of my beach blanket were not having it. With summer fast approaching, I would love to make some strangers uncomfortable again!

PS – Congrats on the Audie!

  869. I’d love “Lets Pretend This Never Happened
I could use a little Beyoncé love and laughter
    🐔

  870. Posting again because I’m a dummy who didn’t leave my name:

I would love a copy of Let’s Pretend This Never Happened. When I read it the first time I laughed so hard I was crorting (<— that’s when you cry and snort at the same time. 871. That is amazing!! I would love either or, but if I had to choose, Lets pretend. Please.

  872. Please give me the Chance to read your Genius in English. I read your Book “Lets pretend” in GERMAN and I wonder how it would sound in english language. Also it would improve my grammar-tyle. Please do something for the helpless Teenage People like me who need 5 minutes to formulate english sentences. Hufffff.

  873. I would love a copy of furiously happy! It is a wonderful and well written book. It really is amazing. Thank you for writing about mental illness and your methods to cope. I too suffer from depression and anxiety. It is so nice to know that I am not the only one that feels like I do.

  874. If you have any left of either I would love a copy. Love that you live here in the ATX!

  875. Let’s Pretend This Never Happened
So, I can laugh so hard people stare at me (again)

  876. I would LOVE, love, LOVE a copy of Furiously Happy……Dear Bloggess, you have no idea how you have inspired and entertained so many people. Rock on!!

  877. Having read Lets pretend and listened to Furiously I would love to hear you read your first book. An hardly wait to hear you talk about your father 🙂

  878. I would love to read ‘Let’s Pretend This Never Happened.’
Thank you so much for the opportunity to win a copy. 🙂

  879. Furiously Happy, please! Would LOVE to read on audio! (First book was fabuloso.)

  880. I loaned my copy of “Let’s Pretend This Never Happened” to a friend and never got it back. I’d love the audio version.

  881. I would love Let’s Pretend This Never Happened. I imagine that hearing the book will allow me to laugh like the beautiful lady in the Chewbacca mask video going around.
And I am inspired to treat the person behind me in line. I wonder if a bookstore would let me?

  882. I would gift either one! I own both and am not willing to loan! 🙂 Bwahahaha!

  883. I would love Let’s Pretend This Never Happened. Have a good day.

  884. I have read half of Furiously Happy, but haven’t had the time to sit and read the rest! I would love to hear your sassy voice to “read” the rest!

  885. I would love a copy of Let’s pretendid for nothing other than hearing Jenny’S HR voice say”Is this a picture of your penis?”

  886. CONGRATS! I just started Furiously Happy and loving it! When I Googled you to find your blog how happy was I that I found out there is ANOTHER book! Either book would be lovely but maybe Let’s Pretend…

My son suffers from schizophrenia and I find such hope in listening to you and how you find the best way ever to deal with life, laughter! Thank you, thank you, thank you. You made MY day!

  887. Let’s Pretend This Never Happened! (When I read the book on a plane, I got shushed by a flight attendant because I was laughing so hard!)

  888. I would love either you have a great sense of the world of mental health, that shows what we go through.
I also think that the cover of Furiously Happy should be made into t-shirts, You could do it through TeeSprings.

  889. Let’s Pretend This Never Happened. Pretty much my favorite book ever!!!!

  890. I know I’m way on down the line of requests, but I would love the chance to read either one of your books. I’ve been on the library hold request list for both of them for quite a while.
I’m glad someone else paid it forward to you, and you were able to do the same for someone else. When the world gets dark around us, those little kindnesses remind us that we’re not as far gone as we feel.

  891. Dear Jenny, I actually Do Love, and own, both of your books – audible AND hardcover! Since I listen and repeatedly re-listen to my audiobook versions, the one thing that is hardest to do, is explain to people just, Why I’m laughing out loud, or wiping away tears – it’s hard to translate, to share my joys in listening to you, telling your own stories, in your own voice – So, If, after all, you can spare a copy, of either, I will share my Audible book, and spread the joy, and amazement with as many as I can. Thank you, thank you.

  892. I would love Furiously Happy. Just bought it a week ago and I’ve already read it four times. Plus, I brought it with me to school today, so you got some free advertisement 😉 thank you so much for all the joy you bring to me when I’m stuck in a well.

  893. I already own both of your audio books, but I just wanted to tell you that I love that you are doing this. Because your books are awesome, but listening to YOU read your own books is the cherry on top!!!!

  894. wow, I’m probably too late, but would love to have either, my friend just turned me on to your work, thank you for your openness, its much needed!!

  895. I would love a copy to give a friend, because I love my copy too much to lend it out!

  896. I don’t need a copy of either book, but I just wanted to tell you that after reading the first book, I realized I needed to wear a Poise pad while reading the second one. You’ve made several days for me! Thank you.

  897. Oh, I do love it when random nice things happen…or when random strangers make nice things happen! And I’d love either book, please and thank you.

  898. Dang. I am always late to the party.
    Furiously Happy, please.

    Thanks for all you do.

  899. Furiously Happy…..cuz that’s what this blog does for me! Thank you!

  900. I'm curious about the mechanics of paying for someone behind you. How exactly do you know how much money? says:

I’m curious about the mechanics of paying for someone behind you. How exactly do you know how much money?

  901. Please please please can i have your first book. Read your second in one day. It was wonderful. Just found out hubby has a girlfriend and could really use your humor!ann2155@gmail.com

  902. “Furiously Happy”, please. I already bought “Lets Pretend this Never Happened.”

  903. So my best friend was sad and I lent Let’s Pretend This Never Happened to her. She misplaced it. 🙁 Just saying… I know shipping out of the US is a pain… so.. well.. Just saying. 😐

Love you too. You’ve made life so much better.

  904. Hi, Jenny! Not sure if you remember me. I brought Enid the Opossum to visit you at your latest book signing in Dallas? It was such a pleasure to meet you. I loved both books so much. I would love a copy of “Let’s Pretend This Never Happened” to listen to in the car. Hope all is well with you! Cheers!

  905. I’m sure I’m too far down the list for you to even see this, but I’ve been trying to break into voice over work, particularly in the reading of audiobooks! So, YES, dammit, I would LOVE to have either “Let’s Pretend” or Furiously Happy” or BOTH in my audiofiles! I mean, I’ve heard your voice, and I HAVE both hardbound books on my shelf, and I LOVE you as both an author and a Person, but seriously, How Will I Ever Be Taken Seriously As A Voice Actor if I don’t Somehow Have a Huge Library of Audiobooks on my Shelf (metaphorically, I think, anymore, right?)? I NEED to please receive at least One of your Books for my Audio Shelf. I LOVE YOU, if that’s any help at all. I really do.

  906. My life would be complete with a copy of Furiously Happy <3

Let’s Pretend This Never Happened is my go to book for when I’m having one of my bad days and need a boost. If nothing else, thank you for that. Very few books make me laugh out loud and feel less alone.

And kudos for your breakfast gift and paying it forward! The world needs more moments like these.

  907. At the bottom of the pile, wow. I have Furiously Happy, would love Let’s Pretend but have a feeling I will have to buy it. Good luck everyone.

  908. Either one! We would love to have both. I just told my 14yo daughter about Beyonce as we are getting chickens next month and just started laughing……she couldn’t understand,I then realized she didn’t know what i was talking about and knew I had failed at parenting! Especially considering you two could be BFF’s.

  909. Im not sure if I missed it in another post but CONGRATS on the Audie Award!! Thats Awesome 🙂

I have Furiously Happy in HBK so I can lend it out to people, someone else should get the audio copy.

  910. Oh my God I would be jumping with joy on getting either of the two-from the women who got me fascinated by blogs in the first place!!! Pity I live far from you in India so I don’t think that will be possible. 🙁 Nevermind. Lets move on and continue the circle of helping others!!!

  911. Well – either, but since I like to read things in order, then the first one. I have a long cross-country drive coming up, and I’m gonna need things to listen to!

  912. Furiously Happy!!! I need this book in my life right now xxx

  913. F Happy would be great!, currently reading Let’s P (given to me by my daughter Hayley).!!

  914. I would love either one I would give one to my daughter so she could listen to them to help with her depression. She could listen to them while she drives.

  915. I would love Let’s Pretend this never Happened, I already have Furiously Happy

  916. How do you choose?! Both got me funny looks when I began laughing while reading them in public. (At least those times I know why I was getting looks.) I love your writing and your honesty. I would love whichever one you had an extra of.

  917. How do you choose?! I have gotten strange looks from people while laughing at your stories while reading them in public. (At least then I knew why they were looking at me like that!) I would love a copy of whichever you may have an extra of. I greatly appreciate your style and honesty. Thanks for the smiles.

  918. Hey, i would love a copy of Pretend. I read Furiously and it was awesome. My family gets annoyed with my quirks and my status as an international rap superstar even though i have only one track that i talked to into my smart phone. My kids shared it with their friends in high school and i shared it with a buddy in India and i have 6 people who like on Twitter, but they still can’t understand why I tout my fame. That’s how they get you.

  919. I totally need a copy of Furiously Happy. You see, I have this serious issue. I never get around to reading paper books anymore, but I wanted a signed copy of Furiously happy, so I got the paper book instead of the Kindle book (That’s the one drawback to the kindle, I can’t get it signed!) and I’ve had it for like 6 months now and am only like a third of the way through. I depend on my kindle’s text to speech so I can listen to stuff and get house work done at the same time (otherwise house work would never get done). This was not as much of an issue when Let’s Pretend This Never Happened came out, cause that was before I had kids (Went to the book signing when I was greatly pregnant though).

  920. Furiusly Happy!!!the book
changed my life, and I would love to hear you reading it

  921. I’ve been following your blog for 5 years now and I would love a copy of Let’s Pretend This Never Happened more than I love my cat*.

*That’s a lie. I would probably still love my cat more. Cause he snuggles me. But I would still love a copy of your audio book a whole lot.

  922. I would love furiously happy!!!!tbhe book changed my life and made me laugh in tough times,i could only imagine you reading it would be the icing on the cake!

  923. My copy of Let’s Pretend This Never Happened frequently gets “misplaced” by people I lend it to (my guess is that they’re rereading it or have lent it to some other lucky person). Although I do, eventually, get it back, it would be awesome to have an extra copy so I can have a “non-lendable” copy to reread whenever the mood strikes instead of having to wait for the lent-book-reclaiming-cycle to end.

  924. So I was to the doctor’s today (at 7:45 a.m., no less!) and my blood tests came back perfect, BP is great, pulse is on the mark… so I said to my husband as we left…”great, so that means the problem really is all in my head”, lol. But really. I JUST finished reading “Furiously Happy” and look forward to going out and grabbing a copy of “Let’s pretend this never happened”. I’ve never laughed out loud so much at a book, in spite of myself. I’ve also never felt so ok about not feeling ok…y’know? Thanks for that!

  925. Still have not read Furiously Happy. I have 2 kids in college and can’t spend any money on anything other then necessary car repairs. So you know, I can drive to work and earn money to pay for college tuition. But pedicures and reading material are on the ‘do not but list’. So, yes to free audio book!

  926. Someone never returned my This never happened
I would love a new 1 also, one of my favorite passages was the alligator? (Taxidermy animal) spoke French and your husband didn’t appreciate it!

  927. I’ve been trying to get my sister to read Furiously Happy because it helped me sooooo much and I know it would help her too!

  928. I would love either but if I had to choose, it would be Furiously Happy? Eh, I am probably too late but oh well. A for trysies!

  929. What I wouldn’t give to hear you tell the story of the deer sweater. I’d love a copy of Let’s Pretend This Never Happened. 🙂

  930. I love paying double or triple at toll boths. It makes me smile for the rest of the day no matter how crappy it turns out to be. But, I always feel a little guilty when someone pays my toll or for my morning coffee. Why is that? It’s like we aren’t worthy of the gift, but love giving them. Maybe it’s just me. I do have papers saying I’m crazy after all.

  931. Furiously happy please! I have been wanting to read it for so long!

  932. You make my day. Either gift would be lovely. thank you for sharing

  933. I would love Let’s Pretend This Never Happened! I listened to Furiously Happy whilst I was working in crazy hours in labs for no pay this year (long story) and it got me through some of my darkest days. So grateful to you for that. Have still not read the first on though!

  934. I’d love a copy of furiously happy. Your 1st book was great and made me laugh out loud often.

  935. I’d love a copy of furiously happy. I read your first book and enjoyed every minute reading it.

  936. I spend ridiculous amount of time in my car. Furiously Happy would take my road trips to a much-needed head space full of goodness and light. Thank you for all the laughter.

  937. The audiobook version of Furiously Happy has made SO many drives to work when I didnt think I could make it possible… I’ve been looking for Lets Pretend this Never Happened, but havent found it offline anywhere…
Id love a copy of your first recorded book. <3

Thank you for making struggling along worth it. All of you!

  938. Hi! I would love an Audio Book of Lets Pretend This Never Happened!! I have and absolutely LOVE both of your books!! I purchased your first book at the end of a trip a few years ago. I had traveled to Las Vegas with two of my girlfriends to attend a self-funded, three day long seminar for work (they just went for fun 🙄) and your book caught my eye in a store at the airport. I am one of those people that totally judges a book (or a bottle of wine for that matter) by its cover. Let me just say this: Your book was the most fantastic thing that I bought that entire trip (not even those damned expensive but totally worth it CME’s that came with the seminar brought me more joy). Once I started reading it, I couldn’t stop. It was not my intention to completely ignore my friends the entire way home but there I was… silent and in my own little world with you… laughing hysterically out loud every few minutes on the plane. We returned to El Paso, stopped to eat, and then had an almost 4 hour drive home. My face was buried in that book as pages flipped until the sun went down. I was a rebel that night. I used the flashlight app (I felt slightly guilty as I remembered that my Dad had always told us as kids to “turn that damn light off while I’m driving at night!”) on my iPhone, hogged the only phone charger in the car, and continued to read until we got home… I refused to let the sun and its not-so-convenient bedtime make my decisions for me that night. Many of your stories reminded me of myself and some of the bizarre things that I somehow manage to stumble upon in life. I love your life Jenny, you are fantastic, and I was so happy to meet someone like you through a book that I spotted on a shelf in the airport gift store… just sitting there… with a cape-wearing mouse on the cover that told me to buy it. Best Gift Ever!! 😊

  939. I literally (really) just finished Furiously Happy audio (library). I’d love a copy please so I can highlight the hell out of it. Even the credits. I found this page because I’m going thru Pinterest (and Goodreads) trying to find quotes that hit me hardest, that made me replay over & over, that may help me to keep hanging on until I can climb out of the stupid, lying hole…again.
    Thank you Jenny! xoxo

  940. My wife and I loved Let’s Pretend This Didn’t Happen but due to family tragedy we haven’t gotten around to Furiously Happy, we’d definitely love to win that one.

  941. I’m just leaving a comment randomly here, because wanted to say, that while I absolutely love everything you’ve ever written, my very favorite piece was a chapter in Furiously Happy. It was the one about how struggling internally caused you to leave your hotel barefoot in the snow, which resulted in experiencing a transcendently beautiful moment that you never would have had otherwise. I really got that, and I was glad someone else did too, and could explain it as well as you did.

  942. Furiously Happy so I can give it to my co-worker who is a big fan (I am too but I think she would be even happier to have it).

  943. I would love Furiously Happy. I tell everyone they should listen to this book. It helps me understand so much. AND it makes me laugh.

  944. I would be happy with either one. I wanted to make it out to see you when you were on tour up in Dallas, but I care for my dad who is on dialysis and he wasn’t having a good day. I try and pay it forward as much as I can. One year I got $300 christmas bonus at work. I was already done with my shopping for Christmas so I went to my local Wal Mart and paid two layaway off for people I didn’t even know. Made me feel good, even though I didn’t get to see the joy it brought those families.

  945. Dear Jenny, I already have both of your books, but I live in San Antonio and really need a hug from someone who gets it. My head is trying to kill me and I just got out of the hospital with 18 stitches after a psych hold. They wanted me inpatient but I was so scared around so many new people and about being a way from my bed and my cat Verne that I lied about how bad it’s gotten so I could just crawl into bed again and not be around strangers.I’m so tired….. I know I need to check in, but I’m so scared. I hate new people but it was such a relief when the EMTs took me away. Like finally, some one else to take this.I’m strapped in and don’t have to deal with my damn monsters. Then eventually my cutting high wore off and I was terrified of the strangers again. It’s like the deeper I cut the more I can breath. Usually I butterfly it on my own after a bad attack but I just moved and couldn’t find my kit. My mom keeps telling me it’s a phase, to put it in a box but it’s been 25 years of PTSD, anxiety, and 5 years of really hard core depression( I miscarried too). It’s a constant fight…… please can I have a hug? 210 260 6009 ill drive.

  946. I would love a copy of your first book on audio to share with my mother! She doesn’t read much anymore because of her eyes, so this sure would make her so very happy. Particularly since me and my two sons can’t stop talking about you since we met you on your book tour!

  947. I’d like “Furiously Happy,” if it’s still available! Thank you so much!

  948. I just sent my son’s girlfriend a copy of Let’s Pretend for her birthday so that she’ll know me better. If you are the reader I am interested (I have gotten good at things by pretending I’m good at it too, although I haven’t won an Audie yet!). I like Furiously too, but Let’s Pretend got me thru some dark days…thank you 🙂

  949. Let’s Pretend this Never Happened!!!!

    P.S. It’s my birthday.
P.P.S. My birthday was yesterday but it still counts.

  950. I’d like Let’s Pretend. I paid for a student’s lunch today. She had no money with her and it was our big student “food truck” festival. I’d never met her before. Felt freakin’ fantastic. Strangers have been generous with me before. It was time to return the favor.

  951. I’d be delighted to have “Let’s Pretend This Never Happened” if I am lucky enough to be chosen. Thanks!

  952. Dear God, you’ve been my blogging role model for years and now you’ve won an audie award too? It’s almost too much to bear, but yes, I would love to have a copy of you reading Furiously Happy

  953. Furiously happy! Thanks for giving the gifts of yourself and your words to the world, Jenny.

  954. Hi, I do this occasionally (not often enough) and the other day, paid for the coffee of the guy behind me who looked like he didn’t think it was going to be a good day. I wish that it was true that I’m all generous and altruistic. But it’s basically self-serving because it makes me feel good

  955. While I would say I would like both, I own them via audible and am currently finishing up Furiously Happy – thank-you for reading your own books, they are awesome!

  956. Let’s Pretend this Never Happened. It would be awesome. However the greatest gift is that my Dear Darling Mother Read your book and thought it was so freaking amazing that she ordered me a copy because she knew that you and I had a lot in common. I doubt she will contribute to my taxidermy collection (nothing in the collection) as she is a vegetarian. I did think of you and Rory last week when I saw a rather bloated possum in the middle of the road with his hands reaching up in the air. I honestly considered getting him a balloon to hold. I forgot to get a balloon while I was in town (hazard of rural living) and saw mr. possum still hands heavenward when in transit back to the house. When I came back into town a couple of hours later with the hubby and the surly 17 y/o son child I saw that Mr. Possum was no longer waving at the clouds. He had become closer to one with the pretty yellow line. Two weeks later and he is nothing but an oily blob on the yellow line with a crap ton of fur. So, If you happen to find another copy of Let’s Pretend This Never Happened on audio, I would love it and cherish it. Love!

  957. I’ve read lets pretend this never happen which I though was soo funny. It actually reminds me of growing up with 4 brothers & 1 sister on a farm in the middle of Missouri. 6 kids in 8 years makes you wonder how my mother managed. I’m sure furiously happy will be a hoot to read.

  958. I love you! But have been so busy that I haven’t had a chance to read either of your books. If I had an audiobook I could listen to it while on the treadmill or stuck in traffic. Both are the banes of my existence lately.

  959. I’m not entering the drawing – I just want to say that random acts of kindness can really lift someone up. When my mother was in the hospital with a major stroke, I parked in 90-minute parking and went to Mom’s room before getting change for the meter. Doctors happened, there was a line at the change dispenser, and I was 15 minutes late getting back down …to a $50 parking ticket. I moved to the public meter lot and the ticket-vending machine was broken and couldn’t take dollar bills. I stood there in tears trying to find & count quarters, and a random passer-by pulled out her wallet, plugged in 8 quarters, and refused to take the dollar bills I offered in return. “Use those when they fix the bill-taker.” She offered me tissues too and I laughed for the first time in days.
Every time I left the lot, if I had time on my meter tag, I flagged down someone coming in to offer them the space. Some people were baffled… but a couple of times I saw that I’d touched someone like that strange woman touched me.

  960. how about an audiobook of Lets pretend…?… because 1) those who comment late are like the cool kids in class who stroll in after the bell…and 2)
it would make me furiously happy. thanks

  961. I’m sure you have probably exhausted your supply. Feels almost like the old game show “queen for a day” where 3 women would share sad stories and the audience would vote. Prizes were washers and dryers and new stove. Kind of made me sad. However this is my first blog post ever. Older people can learn. We are tribe members. I thank you for the times I have laughed when crying was my first option. On the lighter side I do collect weird things as well and have scared the *$^#^ out of many ringing the bell to be answered by a giant squirrel. Quite a kick when the mood strikes, you might also get the book Crap Taxidermy by Kat Su for inspiration. The best to you! Today I will pay it forward some where. Good habit, since I have a few really bad ones…

  962. I would love a copy of Let’s Pretend it I’m sure that I’m late to this party 😅 Thanks for being awesome tho!

  963. Lets Pretend This Never Happened, I can’t find in anywhere for an affordable price.

  964. Let’s Pretend This Never Happened! It’s the best thing ever! (pretend there’s a raccoon emoji here)

  965. I would love an audiobook format of Let’s Pretend This Never Happened. 😃 😂 😋

  966. Hi, I’ve never read blogs or commented on blogs before because I will inevitably get sucked into the abyss that is the web but you have hooked me with your books and you can’t throw me back. I would love to have an audio copy of Furiously Happy to share with my husband. I keep buying and giving the book to my friends and recommending it to others but my husband won’t take the time to read it so maybe I could get him to listen to it on one of his business trips. Actually, I would take a copy of either one that you would like to give me if you have any left. If you no longer have any, oh well, at least I tried. Thank you for all of the laughs and for making me realize there are other marriages like mine. What is the line from Stripes? “You are a mad man, cowboy, I want to party with you!” That’s what I think every time I read about you and Victor having a whole conversation about whether or not you are fit to adopt a squirrel or if Jesus is a zombie. It’s a good thing this isn’t Twitter…

  967. I’d love Let’s Pretend this Never Happened….so I can start at the beginning

  968. Wow! 1400 requests for copies. Your editor is really generous to support all of us free loaders. I just finished listening to Furiously Happy duting my commmute over the past couple weeks. Im sure that more than a fee people either think I’m loosing laughing as much as I was or they were thinking I want some of that. If they only knew. Well thank you for lightening my days, my spouse travels about 60%, I work full time, have two young kids and decided to go to school fulltime at night to get a Masters…. So I needed the laughs. I have convinced 3 friends/family to listen to Furiously Happy too, a good sense of humor like yours are few and far between.

  969. Wow, I’m late to the game – but I’d love a copy of Furiously Happy. I can’t read large amounts of text due to medical issues, and the audio version hasn’t been released on audible here in the UK
    🙁

  970. I love love love Furiously Happy! I listened to it already, so please allow somebody else the great pleasure. Also, come to Duluth, Mn and I shall buy you breakfast! xx

  971. I’d love a copy of Lets Pretend this Never Happened, and then we could pretend this never happened. Thanks Jenni, you’re the best!!! 😈🇺🇸😈🇺🇸😈🇺🇸😈

  972. I would very much appreciate a copy of furiously happy…it has saved my life in so many ways. You would be shocked with how much we have in common…the bravest and smartest thing I ever did was listen to my doctor and read furiously happy.

  973. Omg, your books literally are the only things that make me laugh when I really just want to cry. Honestly, I would take either if you have any left! I guess if i HAD to choose I’d take Let’s Pretend.

  974. At the suggestion of a friend, I borrowed your book Furiously Happy from the library and as I read it I laughed til I peed my pants and cried, too, and HAD to get it for myself. (Also because I want my 18 year old daughter to read it, as she has Anxiety and ADHD and like you is scathingly funny. And likes Taxidermy to an unhealthy degree.) I ordered the book from Amazon and was excited today when I came home and a PACKAGE was on my front porch. I ripped open the package and was confused and disappointed when there was a rather ugly embroidered caftan inside. Did my husband (who never gets me clothes) order it for our anniversary? Shit, I hope not! DOes he really think I am XL? Then I actually Looked at the address, and it was to… Carol W. on 1409 Cannon Street. Huh? A mile away. I drove there to deliver it myself, as penance for opening it with undue haste. The address matched, and the wood-burned “Home of Carol and Dan” sign indicated the same taste as someone who would order a purple embroidered caftan in XL. No one was home, so I left a note on the package explaining that it was mis-delivered, and I had opened it accidentally. While on Carol’s front porch I noticed another package. Being naturally nosy, I leaned over and read the address. My name and address! Mine! AHA!
I snatched the package and opened it. Furiously Happy!
When I got home I read a chapter to my daughter, and she immediately said “I have to read that book now.”
Thank you for being an inspiration.

  975. I shared your books with my daughter because she’s my sounding board just like your daughter and husband. Now she understands me even more. We would love a copy of furiously happy!! Please please!!

  976. would love to win an audio copy of either book – some days it’s just hard not to be an asshole

  977. I would love a copy of Let’s Pretend this Never Happened! I just finished Furiously Happy and loved it- hilarious and comforting at the same time. I’ve never felt less alone from reading a self-help book, and I’ve read a lot #CrazyLibrarian

  978. everyone wants one and so do I mainly bc I gave my copy of Lets Pretend to my BFF. I was sharing the laughter forward. I already make my hubby listen to me reading your stuff aloud. Apparently my voice is not so beautiful so having an audio copy would really help when I want him to laugh out loud with me. I do spurt out big gaffaws while reading your stories and feel the sadness bc I know Depression Lies. Even if there’s not a copy and I hope you’ll read some excerpts on YouTube to share. Thank you for the laughter and the honesty.

  979. I’d love a copy of Furiously Happy…what a great surprise!

  980. I would love an audiobook copy of Let’s Pretend This Never Happened, if you happen to have any left. It’s one of my all-time favourites and I can imagine it would only be more hysterical with you reading it aloud!!

  981. Good morning!
OMG I saw the photo you posted- you collect Blythe? I love how they look on your shelf. 🙂
I fell in love with your first book just from reading the description of it when I work working at our local library here in San Angelo,TX. Imagine my surprise to see you were from our area. I knew I HAD to read your book just from the few pages I peeked at while processing the book for the library. I checked it out that day and finished it the same evening. Your writing had me laughing so hard that my cheeks hurt from laughing and smiling. I had to read parts of it to my Mom and husband, and they loved it too. I suffer from anxiety and depression so I really related to alot of what you were saying. I ended up changing jobs and was so excited to visit the library and see you had another book out! I also read it all in one evening and once again you have outdone yourself. I’m sending good thoughts your way. I know it wasn’t easy baring so much of yourself and your problems, but you’ve been such a big help to me and I am sure a help to countless others.

  982. I’m sure you’ve already chosen winners, but I would really love a copy of Let’s Pretend This Never Happened on audio! I have a long commute to work each day and love listening to books – I already listened to Furiously Happy when I was in a particularly bad hole of depression from my bipolar disorder, and it really helped me to get through it. I still struggle every day, and memoirs like yours make me feel more connected and less alone. Thank you for your books!

  983. hi
It may be too late to participate but I’ll try. Unless you don’t send them abroad (I’m french).
My 16 yrs old daughter is suffering from a really tough depression, and she won’t read any of the books I buy her to feel better, she says she can’t concentrate. Also I must be a poor mother because I hadn’t even noticed she felt that bad (everyhting seemed to be fine, school, friends, appetite…), and a close friend of hers wrote me that letter explaining how terrible she felt. I found a good shrink for her, she is on medication, but I feel so helpless. She even quit school, when she was a really good student.
I have bought your first book, but maybe the second one, in an audio version, would be ok for her.
thanks anyway. I gave her the link to your blog, but I’m not sure she’s tried it yet.
I am scared for her future.

  984. Hello! I would love a copy of either audio book, whichever you happen to have left…I’m sure they’re all spoken for already, but thought I’d give it a shot. Btw, Let’s Pretend this Never Happened has become one of my favorite books! I haven’t yet read Furiously Happy, but I’m looking forward to it soon!

  985. Aw man! I was really hoping you might be auditioning for the audiobooks… I insist upon reading Let’s Pretend This Never Happened aloud to my friends and family who are not familiar. Particularly the Jenkins chapter.

One of your biggest fans!!! Would love a copy or either, but would love to be your BFF more.

  986. Jenny, thanks for sharing who you are. I feel that I can relate to so many of your experiences. Okay, maybe not the time you had insomnia and let your cat run around with a taxidermied raccoon on its back. But you know, like your experiences with depression, anxiety, and auto-immune disorders– I find myself excited, saying, “I’m not the only one.”

You’ve opened my eyes to the term ‘functioning depressive.’ This term alone, has helped me cope so much.

I always hear things like, 1 in 5 people have a mental illness. The logical part of me thinks, ‘great, I’m not alone.’ The irrational part of me is like, ‘nobody ever understands what and how I feel.’ But that is simply not true. You do. And if you do, maybe those 1 in 5 also have very relatable experiences.

Your books and blog make it okay to talk about mental illness. Making it easier to discuss those relatable experiences with others, when stigma is removed. You’re part of the solution for ending mental illness stigma. Thank you, for sharing who you are.

  987. I would love Furiously Happy! My book club is currently reading Let’s Pretend This Never Happened (at my suggestion) and it is one of my favorites 🙂

  988. Struggling through the week, which meant I should bring out my audio copy of “Lets pretend this never happened”
Thank you for being you. I would love Furiously Happy.

  989. I would really really apprecaite a copy of the Let’s Pretend this Never Happened PLEASE! With Sugar on TOP! And donuts and pizza and BACON 😉

  990. Is it too late??? I want them all! Wait, that is selfish. I love them both but Let’s Pretend This Never Happened is my fave. Got me through a rough time…
    We love you Jenny.

  991. I would love a copy of “lets pretend this never happened.” Its the funniest book I ever read and I’m sharing it with everyone I know! Well not the book, but I’m telling everyone to read it 😃 darle

  992. I hope I can still get a book. I just finished your audio book of furiously happy and I laughed so hard (while I was riding the train alone in Chicago) that people started looking at me like I was crazy, in short I feel like you own me one for making look bad with your hilariousness (that may be a new invented word… Your welcome). So if I can still get one of your audio books I would love to get the one with the Shakespearian death mouse in the cover (don’t worry I know the real name of your book…) Felicidades on being such an awesome and valiant person. You are inspiring, entertaining and lovely. I’m sure you’ll be okay. I predict you’ll be a rich, famous and successful writer one day! Oh wait, you already are. Man I’m good!!!

  993. I hope I can still get a book. 994. I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to get a copy of “Let’s Pretend This Never Happened.” Furiously happy was a really inspiring audiobook for me, if it is possible for me to still get in on this I would be really grateful. If not, either way I am going to get a read on that book. Thank you so much for writing things that are inspirational and helpful to figuring out what is wrong with me.

  995. Let’s Pretend This Never Happened makes me laugh till I puke. I see I’m late to the party so if you’re out of copies I’ll buy one anyway. I want to hear you talk about the baby raccoons in the bathtub.

  996. Omg, so I was just suggested your book “furiously happy” by audible so I thought sure. It’s got a flipping crazed raccoon on it… Yes I read the book by its cover, but after listening to the whole book in about a day and a half at work… Yes my coworkers continued to ask why I was laughing so hard) My fiancé now thinks I’m crazed because I laugh so hard a either a choke on my spit or cry, and then can’t explain what I was laughing at nearly as eloquently as you, so he really thinks I’m nuts… I have now decided I need the second one as well and today at work began listening to “let’s pretend this never happened” and literally had to stop listening to it because I kept answering the phone and having to take deep breaths for my composure. I would love a copy physical copy. But I really just wanted to thank you for your truthfulness. You’ve honestly made me smile harder than I have in months and I can’t help but admire everything you’ve done and accomplished. I’ve had a year of bad luck and it’s only half way begun, and your books are helping me understand that as long as I’m breathing it’s not the end

  997. Would love either but especially “Let’s Pretend this never happened”

This happened to my husband, too, (having a stranger pay for your meal), and it does brighten your day.

  998. I can’t imagine I’ll get a copy of either being beyond comment 1000 something, but I’d love a copy of Furiously Happy to give as a gift to a friend. She suffers her own battle with depression and anxiety, but also has the best sense of humor. I know she will love your book.

Also, I work at a library and I recommend your books to people ALL the time. Not only is it amazing to watch their faces as I tell them to read a book with a taxidermied (taxidermed?) animal on the front, but it’s a fun challenge to try to describe your books to people in a coherent sentence. Also… I thought for the longest time (embarrassingly long), that the mouse on the front of “Let’s Pretend This Never Happened” must be a famous, well-trained Hollywood mouse. Then I read the book and am now familiar with Mr. Von Schnitzel’s story.

Thanks for sharing your life with us.

  999. I would absolutely love to have either if this is still happening!!! 🙂

1000. i have not read your first book so I pick that one. I have e-read your second from my library. 3 or 4 times. The waiting list is so long always over 100 days till I can read it again. I’m really glad I found you.

1001. I would just love a copy of either one. You are just such a great writer. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us all.

1002. I already have let’s pretend. Would love furiously happy!!! I think your awesome. Your Beyoncé post several years ago has been the greatest blog post I’ve EVER read. I still laugh about it. KNOCK KNOCK! 🙂

1003. I am recovering from a horrible surgery due to breast cancer. I cry alot. This would make me laugh I would love any of your books & audio recording s. Pay it forward is my motto

1004. I am recovering from a horrible surgery due to breast cancer. I cry alot. This would make me laugh I would love any of your books & audio recording s. Pay it forward is my motto

1005. I would love an audible copy of Furiously Happy, if they are still available. I treasure my copy of Let’s Pretend This Never Happened. My sister & I would love to listen to Furiously Happy as we drive to a mini-family reunion 3 states away.

1006. I just finished Furiously Happy and it was SPECTACULAR!!! I laughed out load at my desk now the girls in the office are reading the book. We also took selfies with Rory’s smile and that was the best 10 minutes in this office in a long time. Your book also made me feel better about my depression. My sister who also struggles with depression is now listing and loving it. I would love a copy of Let’s pretend this never happened.

1007. Are there still copies of Furiously Happy available? I’d love one! Let’s Pretend…is one of the funniest books ever written & your blog always brightens my crappiest of days 🙂

1008. I used to work at a coffee shop and this would happen every other day. I loved being able to tell someone that their $5.00 drink was paid for. I’ve even had it happen to me when not working.
We’ve already bought both books and both audiobooks and they are wonderful!
