Is this real life?

I have been in knots about my upcoming book because it’s different from anything I’ve done before and I have been terrified that people will be like, “YOU ARE NOT QUALIFIED TO GIVE ADVICE AND EVERYONE KNOWS IT, YOU WEIRDO” but it’s actually getting really lovely pre-reviews from booksellers, librarians and readers, and Publisher’s Weekly just gave it this review:

“Eeee!”

And then Southern Living listed it as one of their 20 Books We Can’t Wait to Read in 2026, Goodreads shared it as on their Readers’ Most Anticipated Books of 2026 list and it made The Next Big Idea Club’s Must Read Books and I may have just cried a little at my desk. Now I feel a little hopeful rather than just scared, and to celebrate I’m giving away one of my early advanced copies to someone here. As with most advanced copies, it’s imperfect and has issues that still need to be fixed in the final copy, so if you win it I will probably sign it and point out all the typos in the margins and then you can use it to remind yourself that nothing is ever perfect and that it’s okay to try even when you don’t always get it right. (It is the case that most advanced copies are full of small mistakes, right? It’s not just me?)

Just leave a comment below if you want one and if you’re randomly picked I’ll drop you an email for your address. And a giant thank you to everyone who has already put HOW TO BE OKAY WHEN NOTHING IS OKAY on their tbr list or preordered it or is just excited to read it. I so love you.

  1. Whoo-hoo! I’ve already got it pre-ordered but a signed copy would be awesome. 🙂

  3. I really, really want a copy!!! And yes, you are right. Nobody expects perfection. Perfectuon is the editor’s job.

  4. I ordered two pre-order copies for myself and a friend who turned me on to your work. I would love to gift her the signed copy. Your work and her friendship have gotten me through really hard times!

  5. Hello! I’m so excited for this book. I’ve been raving about it for months now and it’s not even out yet.

  6. I have a weirdo comment: Groovy, girl! I can’t wait for the release. Kooks and goofballs unite!

  9. I can’t wait to read it! Hopeful you come to Andersons in Naperville, IL on your tour!

  10. Your books are always a great reminder that we all have struggles and your humor helps me heal. I cannot wait to read this one.

  11. Yes, yes! I am not surprised at all by your reviews. Everything you write is exquisite. Short posts, drawing, books, observations… all just wonderful.

  12. I could not be more excited to read this book. Your words from previous books are with me all the time as I fight my own battles. And you keep me laughing always. Happy for you!

  13. Oh my goodness yes! I can’t wait to read it….will definitely be purchasing if I don’t get picked. You are awesome!

  14. Imperfect and has issues that still need to be fixed describes me perfectly. I could really use this book! ☺️

  15. I can’t wait to read it! The best advice is given by the hottest messes. No judgement!

  16. Don’t pick me for the freebie. I ❣️ buying your books (usually 10-15 for gifts).

  17. Of course I want it. I must have all you books or my life is incomplete!
(For clarification reasons I will state the second sentence is an exaggeration)

  18. I’ve got it preordered, but it releases on my birthday and a signed copy would be an awesome present!

  19. YES, please. I would be so grateful. I would love and imperfect version of your book.

  20. I’m sure I’m going to love it. You make me feel less alone in this world. Thank you.😊

  21. I’ve preordered it! Can’t wait.

Also, last year I was reading one of your books at the airport and I was laughing so much that a stranger asked to take a photo of the cover so they could read it as well.

  22. A copy of your new book, signed?!?!

YES PLEASE 😁My daughter and I have all your books between us and I just got us each a 2026 calendar!! Yay us!

  23. Congratulations on your new book- you deserve all of the good reviews! I have thoroughly enjoyed all of your books.

  24. YES! I listen to your audio books so much on road trips that I start to hear your voice and your stories at certain landmarks. Lawn gremlins and taxidermy stories are particularly my favorite. Let’s add another to the collection.

  25. Would love a copy I’m sure, and plan to buy many for others as gifts! Congrats💙

  26. Hi, I have all of your books and didn’t even realize that you were dropping another one. Ur words have saved me and accepted me when I couldn’t accept myself. Ik it’s a long shot to be picked but I would be honored to see what you see at all stages of your writing. Thank you for continuing to write ✍🏼

  27. I would love a copy! I’m really looking forward to reading it and would love to read it early.

  28. I don’t know man. In this timeline? I think you might be one of the better folks to give advice.

  29. Ever since you first wrote about the subject of this book I’ve been waiting! I can’t wait any longer.

  30. I own a minimum of 40 books that I have not read yet (I have an issue, clearly) but I’ll happily set them, and the 7 I’m partially in the middle of to read yours!

  31. I would LOVE a copy. I sadly lost all of your books when I left a DV situation last year and am rebuilding my library. Got it preordered on Amazon and am lookin g forward to it!

  32. Ooh, I CAN’T WAIT to read it! Just what I need to hear right now, after the holidays that always stress me out. I try to pretend Xmas doesn’t happen, but that never works so well. I would LOVE to read more about how you handle anxiety/depression/too high expectations.

  33. If I don’t win one, I’ll be buying one anyways! Congratulations on this next book. Hooray for all of us!

  34. Can’t wait for your new book. my daughter has very similar mental health issues and it has always helped to read your perspective. Makes her feel seen and understood

  35. This sounds like a fantastic read (like all your books!). Looking forward to reading it!

  36. Every time I read your books, I’m always laughing out loud – which startles my coworkers if I’m at lunch at work. I do not suffer from mental health issues, but people I love do, so they always help me to understand too.

  37. I gave a copy of your previous book to my gynecologist which resulted in an awkward hug while I was still in a hospital gown. Can’t wait for this one!

  38. Yes! And I can’t wait to read it and all it’s imperfectness. I’ve been trying to get people turned onto your writing some of them quite successfully!

  39. I really could use a free book of yours! It’s been a crazy few years for me. Need people who understand the crazy, in my life.

    Karyn Doherty

  40. I can’t wait for this book! Haven’t been ok for a while but we have the same sense of humor. I have Crohn’s disease and had breast cancer this year. Had double mastectomy and radiation and am doing great now so the year ended much better than it started!

  41. You have helped me and so many others already. I’m looking forward to another good book, even if its different from those previous. *hugs*

  42. Would LOVE to read it! Kudos on your great review. We librarians really do read them when making book purchases. 🙂

  43. You are a treasure! I love everything you do. I am certain your new book will be a huge success and I can’t wait to read it!

  44. This would be amazing! I’m so excited for your next book. I’ve loved them all so far. 💜 And Broken is what made me decide to try TMS. This week I came off my anxiety meds completely for the first time in 6 years (post partum anxiety is no joke), and I feel so much better than I have in a very long time.

  45. I love you, ‘imperfections’ and all. The only thing more exciting about reading the new book would be maybe winning a copy! – Rusty

  46. My depression is so bad I don’t even bother with anti depressants anymore. I can’t handle weed, possibly due to my allergies with grasses and trees. The thought of something messing with the few brain cells that are working scares me due to family crazy history so no microdosing or ketamine. Advice from someone that has walked the walk might work. It’s worth a shot.

  47. I collect all versions of your books and I would absolutely love an advanced copy ❤️

  48. Can’t wait to read it! I’ll take any advice you have – I just lost my Mom around Thanksgiving and today is her birthday and I’m really struggling with everything right now, which compounds all my usual stress, pain, anxiety, and sleep issues. But I’m searching for joy wherever I can find it, and your books always bring joy.

  49. Oh my goodness I’d be thrilled to have an advanced copy! If I don’t win I’ll wait impatiently with all the other suckers and chumps. 😑

  50. I will read it whenever I can get my hands on it, but I certainly would love that to be sooner rather than later! Getting it signed from you would make it even more special.

Also, the enthusiastic responses don’t surprise me in the least. Congratulations and I hope you’ll remember this feeling for the future.

  51. I can not wait for your new book. XO!
I need all the coping mechanisms!
    Thank You
    Terri

  52. I’m having to comment again because I didn’t log in the first time. 😅

Original comment: This would be amazing! I’m so excited for your next book. I’ve loved them all so far. 💜 And Broken is what made me decide to try TMS. This week I came off my anxiety meds completely for the first time in 6 years (post partum anxiety is no joke), and I feel so much better than I have in a very long time.

  53. I do, I do! And congrats, stepping out of your comfort zone is scary. I bet it’ll be a great book though 🙂

  54. 🙋‍♀️🙋‍♀️🙋‍♀️🙋‍♀️I can’t wait to read it! Pick me please! 🤣🤣🤣

  55. Thank you for always helping us broken folks pick up the pieces and put them back together with humor, compassion and community.

  56. I am a huge bookie and have all your others I would absolutely love to have this!

  57. I have all your books on n hardback even though I usually listen to the audiobook. Love to see it early

  58. I would love an advanced copy! Anything you write is gold in my eyes. I can’t wait until it’s published!

  59. I would love the ARC. Love your sense of humor, openness and honesty. Thx for the chance

  60. Haven’t pre-ordered yet, so being chosen would be so very helpfull!! Love all of your books! Very high expectations for this newest one! But I know I wont be disappointed!! How you are able to make your stories come out so funny, and human, and real amazes me. Love you!

  61. I have read your other books and laughed like a hyena (not in a bookstore cause no one wants to hear that). I’m looking forward to your new book — having a signed copy would be the cherry on top. Thank you for giving the crazy thoughts in my head relief and knowing I’m not alone with the random stuff which I find amusing.

  62. Yes, I’d love to read an ARC! I’ve read over 300 books this year and I’ve never read an ARC before.

  63. Love suggesting your books to others, and I’m sure this one will be as wonderful as the others!

  64. I love your books and you; you are my kind of weird. In one of your books, the letter you wrote to your insurance company was one of the most eloquent arguments I’ve ever read and it broke my heart that you had to write it. I’m a nurse practitioner and had to fight daily with insurance companies to get the medicines that my pts needed. I’m retired now but still believe there’s a special place in hell for some of those people. Looking forward to your next book!

  65. After the worst Christmas ever, THIS put a SMILE on my face. There IS no better place I can think of to get “unqualified and weirdo advice”. Your perspective, humor and life lessons work FOR me. A new book from YOU is a gift to all of us. xo

  66. Oh that would be awesome! I never win anything, so would this be the time my luck changes?

  67. Keep on doodling, producing, writing and creating wonderful relatable works! You’re a beautiful soul—)

  68. What in the doublemint twins is happening?!?Free autographed book? I actually have faith in 2026 being a good year now.

  69. I would love to read this, mistakes and all! After all, nobody’s perfekt! 😉

  70. You have always been amazing, and I can’t wait to read this! I hope your book tour comes somewhere close to me!

  71. Ooh. I would love an advanced copy. But I never win anything, so congrats to whoever does get picked!

  72. Good for you Jenny! You are writing out of a willingness to help others and you do it with humor…how could people not love it? That is a beautiful thing.

  73. Awesome idea! I love reading ARCs to be part of the process and help out the authors

  74. I try to follow everything I can of yours. You are amazing and funny and real and I will of course always get your books, but would love love love to win a copy with all your notes!!!

  75. Oh Jenny I would be over the moon to get one and start reading asap. You are a wonderful human being and I love reading your books!!
Hugs and love during these holidays

  76. Have all of your books; would love to add this to my collection! And give it to my son to read; he could benefit from your advice!

  77. I’ve pre-ordered my copy, but I love gifting your books to my favorite people, so an extra copy would be great!

  78. I would love this! As an English teacher, it would be a real relief to have someone else making the errors for once

  79. I dropped your first book on my face because I was laughing so hard. Had to pull over listening to the audio of the second one because I was laughing so hard I was crying. What I’m saying is your books are dangerous and I promise I’ll be careful with this one.

  80. I would love to read the advanced copy – I love catching typos! But I am also super excited to see that the Audible audiobook is YOU! I like the idea of hearing you share your own stories.

  81. I can’t wait to read this and to send a copy to my closest friends. I went through a catastrophic mental breakdown after my son was born 15 years ago and had to slowly relearn how to human. Nowadays I am mostly ok, but perimenopause is starting to kick my arse and I’m worried about a second break. I’ve been so reassured by your books and posts and the comments here. I know that it’s ok not to be ok and the light eventually comes back. I would so love an advance copy.

  82. Did I ever tell you that Furiously Happy got me through a bad break-up? You are utterly qualified to help because you CARE.

  83. That is so wonderful! Congratulations! It’s become part of my yearly joy to reread your books! I am pleased as punch to be getting a new one to celebrate! Thank you for your continued amazingness!

  84. OMG, I would love one! I’m counting down until it comes out! Ordering it either way, but this would be a nice Birthday surprise since my birthday is in January.

  85. If you’re offering to post to Australia I would love an ARC. I can’t wait to read it.

  86. I don’t want a copy for me. I’ve already pre-ordered my e-book copy (from Nowhere, of course). I’d love a signed copy for a dear friend of mine who reminds me of you (or you remind me of her? I don’t know which comes first!) so much it hurts.

I think she’d find comfort and joy in your writing.

  87. Really if I was told I could only read one book in 2026 this would be the one I’d pick. So happy for you. 🙂

  88. I would love to read the advanced copy – I love catching typos! But I am also super excited to see that the Audible audiobook is YOU! I like the idea of hearing you share your own stories.

  89. Crazily excited for this new book! Either way Ill have a physical and an audio version

  90. I would love to have your newest book. My husband was going to pre order it for me for Christmas but he past away. I am on the tightest budget so I dont loose our home.

  91. I’ve already pre-ordered a copy from Nowhere, but to get an advanced copy would be amazing!!

  92. This would be amazing. I can’t tell you how much I’ve always wanted a perfectly imperfect book 💙

  93. My college aged daughter struggles to be perfect whist juggling anxiety. She doesn’t listen to her mother, but she listens to others sometimes. My oldest found wisdom in your first two books when dealing with her anxiety and depression, so maybe if #2 can glean wisdom from someone who is successful BECAUSE of her imperfections, and she herself can embrace her own. Madly appreciative of your work, Jenny.

  94. I’d love to have a copy! I’m still going to pre-order one because I’m certain that even if my name is drawn, someone I know would also love a copy. Congrats!

  95. I would sooo love to be considered for an ARC of the new book, I recently bought one of your signed books and your inscription makes me laugh every time 🙂

  96. I would love to win a copy, and full of mistakes makes it even more special, as it’s a reminder we all make them. I can definitely use some helpful coping mechanisms, as my anxiety can be near crippling at times. Either way, I will be getting the released version as well. Love you, Jenny!

  97. Seriously excellent news! I was looking at Broken and wondering when I would hear that amazing voice again…

  98. Oh, Jenny, congratulations on all your wonderful reviews on your new book! You are most deserving, talented you. ❤️ Oh, and BTW, your hair looks great in this photo! (And not just saying that to win a book! 🤣🤣). Congrats again!

  99. Ive been trying to locate an ARC of your book and have no such luck. Me, a public library worker cant find it. I am always asked about reader advisory and patrons ask whats good etc. Your work is the FIRST thing I recommend as its real, comes from your heart, but literally your heart cuz that would be messy and lead to less books later.

  100. You are such an amazing and inspiring advocate for those of us who are introverts in a noisy world. Thank you for all you do. I definitely have you in my TBR list and will put a library checkout hold on it as soon as I am able.

  101. Fates know I could use some advice given the mess both in the world in general and at home. Would absolutely love to be chosen. ♥️

  102. My mother died three hours ago and nothing would make me happier than a signed ARC. I live in Macon, Georgia, but last month traveled to SAN for ONE REASON- to visit the Nowhere Bookshop and it was the most amazing place I’ve ever been. I will DEFINITELY be back!

  103. I love reading your updates because they are so real. I think I might be on an upswing which is delightful and I should be getting ready to take advantage of it instead of hiding in bed, but that’s life.

  104. I love everything you write. You are so talented. Thank you for sharing your gifts with us. – Genipher Miller

  105. I’ve read (and colored) all of your books. I have multiple chronic pain/illness. So reading your books, and then following your blog, made me feel less alone. I cannot wait to read this book!

  106. I am sooooooo unbelievably excited for this book. You are totally experienced enough to give advice if it wasn’t for your book I wouldn’t be here. Your book gave me the courage to get help when I was in an unbelievably dark depression hole. My friend is having a hard time right now his mom died in April and this is the first holidays without her. I’m like how can I help him ooooooo I know one of Jenny’s books. I gave him your first one for Christmas. You bring such light into the world Jenny I’m so glad you’re here.

  107. Self doubt is a horrible thing. Congrats on the new book, I’m excited to read it.

  108. Hi Jenny – I would absolutely LOVE a copy signed from you!! ♥️ I have all your books and can’t wait to read this one!

  109. I’m really excited for your next book. I have several of your other books on my book shelf at the city morgue (my copy of Let’s Pretend This Never Happened keeps disappearing. Probably ghosts)

  110. This is on my I cant wait to read list. I would be beyond honored to own an early copy.

  111. I would never ask for an advanced copy, because I already have lowered expectations for my own paralysis when it comes to reading and evaluating anything, but I love this for everyone else and look forward to the release!

  112. Um. There are a zillion people out there huckstering their fake fixes for everything. All your book claims is that these things helped you, so maybe they’ll help someone else. Not really that wild of a claim, and 100% valid. You are absolutely allowed to share your lived experience in the hopes someone may find help in it. No further qualification necessary.

  113. Your books are some of my favorites!!! No other books make me laugh out loud when reading them. When I worked at a library I told so many people to read them and would put them on displays all the time. Would love to get your new book

  114. I’m already excited to read your newest book! Your wit and wisdom have helped me navigate some dark times and I will always be grateful for that.

  115. I’ve loved everything I’ve ever read by you & can’t wait for this one! You are amazing Jenny Lawson!

  116. Would love a copy! I’ve never seen an ARC and it seems like a gap in my 60+ years of reading I should fill 😁

  117. Pick me! Pick me! I can’t wait till it comes out so if you picked me that would be awesome. 🤞💗

  118. Happy holidays and happy new year, fellow Jenny! I’ve been a weirdo fan of your writings and art and have been a frequenter of your safe spaces online for years (substack and here) and your words as well as your communities have made me feel so understood and safe. Thank you so much for that!

Your words about your medical and mental health journeys have been such lifelines for me, and your artwork is such a salve in such times.

My depression has been crushing for months now thanks to the after affects of procedures I had in October along with the everyday stuff that goes with newly diagnosed ongoing chronic conditions, etc, and your words and art matter so much-it brings light when I cannot find the light within myself. Your work reminds me that depression lies which helps so much.

Would love a copy of your book (honestly it sounds completely up my alley) but even if I don’t receive it just want you to know the kind of difference you make everyday. Thanks for illuminating the world just by being yourself!

  119. I’m already looking forward to gifting this to friends! Would be honored to read an early copy. Congratulations on the new book!

  120. Ma’am, your writing has made me laugh and cry for years. You’ve helped me gather the strength to face my issues and the courage to try something new when the old methods no longer served me well. I’d be honored to own an ARC.

  121. I have NO DOUBT that you are the best person to give advice and I cannot wait to read the book, ARC or not. <3

  122. Super excited to read your new book, and I would love a signed copy ❤️ I am going to push to make this our late spring/summer book for our Book Club at San Angelo Clubhouse 🙂

  123. You are my favorite author. Your writing style makes me feel so seen. Also every single time I see a weird taxidermy character I think of you. One of these days I’ll actually get around to sending you one of them. That day may or may not be after my one cat dies…you would love her. She’s got no thoughts now or then. Okay love you bye 😘

  124. I am excited for this one. Will it come out in audio as well? I’ve listened to all your others.

  125. Looking forward to your new book! I go through dark spells. (It sounds like magic, but it’s not.) I’d love to read more of what helps you. Your blog and other books have been very helpful.

  126. That is wonderful! I love the hype you’re getting, you deserve every bit of it!

  127. I’ve gotten plenty of advice from supposedly qualified individuals and not much of that has worked out.

  128. I’m so unbelievably excited to read this. My partner gifted me new copies of your other books for Christmas. He knew I had to leave behind all of my books when leaving a “bad situation” last year and that your books meant the most to me. I’ll be reading them again while patiently waiting on this to be released!

  129. I can’t wait to read this. It stares at me on Amazon every time I’m on there. I’m on there a lot. It is staring.

  130. Jenny, you are more qualified to write about this topic than anyone who has studied it – you know from experience what actually helps! Trust me – that is the best gift for others who experiencs the same.

  131. A signed copy would be amazing! My husband got me signed copies of all your books!

  132. I can’t wait to read it and an ARC copy would be so fun! Typos = real life ❤️ I love the way you always keep it real.

  133. I found you because of RA, laughed through your interactions with Misty, watched your friendship with Wil Wheaton begin, learned how to laugh at myself, and have never left. I love you like family. Do I want an ARC?! Yes, yes I do. Do I want everyone here to have an ARC? Also yes lol!!

  134. Ohmygoodness YES I will be buying this but I need to order it from you anyway so I can get it signed. I relate SO hard to basically everything you write and do, so much that I’ve just about decided you’re the alternate universe me who actually succeeded in living the life where I/we win at living. (Goodness knows I’m failing in this one, sigh.) Anyway, I’m so excited for this book, and for your continued awesomeness!! Love you, dear Jenny!! 💜

  135. Oh, Jenny.

This title is the past couple years of my life, and I can’t wait to see if one or two suggestions from you will help get the ship back on course.

I’ve given up on rescue, I am just out there blazing a trail.

“Nowhere” is my bookstore at Bookshop. 🙂

  136. I would love!!! your new book! I use many excerpts of your work to teach memoir! So many students pick up the book afterwards! Thank you for your funny, poignant words!

  137. I am also imperfect and full of flaws waiting to be fixed so I would totally relate to a pre-issue! Can’t wait to read it 😊 Thanks for the chance!

  138. I would love to start 2026 with a chance to read your book!!! What a generous gift you are offering!!!

  139. I, too, am imperfect and still have issues to be fixed. I’d love to win a kindred spirit in book form! And congratulations on the new book!!!

  140. I’m really looking forward to cracking this one open! You have a unique gift, and we’re all happy to benefit from it.

  141. Congratulations, Jenny on these fabulous early reviews! Yes, please enter my name for a chance to win your early copy. Thank you! And wishing you and your family a joyful, healthy new year!

  142. Wow, the world needs this book RIGHT NOW! I’d love the imperfect copy but will be buying copies for myself and several friends who will benefit greatly from your humor and wisdom. Love you!

  143. Congratulations! I’m so glad everyone enjoys your writing as much as we do 💜

I’m looking forward to reading it, too!

  144. You have given me so many smiles through your books and audiobooks. A signed text would be a lovely bit of luck.

  145. I preordered the audiobook. I knew it would be different and honestly, I did hesitate. I feel like I have a million books listing so called strategies, and most of them, I never actually look at more than once. But I figured, even if all I get out of this book is a few laughs, then it’s 100% worth it. I don’t need self help. I need laughter.

  146. Yes please! Having a copy of this would be so meaningful. Thanks for all your writing and being so open with all of us. Hugs.

  147. Pre-ordered (by me) with a certificate announcing the pre-order (made by me) placed in my Christmas stocking (by… Santa?) to be found by me Christmas morning with a smile on my face. Thank you for being you! I can’t wait for it to get here!!!

  148. I would LOVE to read your latest, but more importantly, I want to tell you that YOUR ADVICE is probably more valuable than that of a “professional”. Who better to tell you the way out of a disaster zone than someone who was actually IN the disaster zone themself? I’ve often wondered why we give so much credence to the advice of “professionals” when they’ve had little to no personal experience with the demons causing havoc in our head.
Congratulations on the great early reviews, Jenny! I’m sure this one will be a great success too. I can’t wait until a copy is on my shelf next to your other books.
    Lots of Love, Susan

  149. Imperfect is perfect because you still did a thing and that is awesome! Looking forward to reading it!

  150. So excited for your latest. I feel like I’ve been on this journey with you from the beginning. I was here before you had books! And we’re still trucking!!!!

  151. Yes Please!!! I love your books, I love getting mail and I would love to have something to look forward to reading in the new year.

  152. Oh man, how I miss working at the library and getting to browse the ARCs!

Toss my name in the hat, please! So excited for this one!

  153. Would love to know how to be ok bc it feels like nothing will ever be ok again. And I totally trust you for advice!

  154. I’m excited to read your next book! I have all your other books on my bookshelf- “I’m just a Canadian girl, looking for a book from Jenny Lawson” ❤️🇨🇦❄️

  155. Jenny,
I am blown away by how you’d get Famous, because I’d never, ever expected it at all.

  156. I Absolutleylove all your books and your blog. You supply endless hope and joy to those of us who take ourselves too damn serious. I can’t WAIT to read your next book. I would cherish and signed copy of an imperfect one!!

  157. Yes!!! I would love to get a free copy of your next book! How exciting! Congratulations!

  158. I need this book! You have no idea how much I need it. And I have a little bit of space left on Jenny Lawson bookshelf….

  159. It would be an honor to win this. And I need a little more hope with my current level of fear. 🤞🏻💜

  160. This made me smile (as you always do) because my stylist had a sign in her stall that said something like “Life isn’t perfect, and thats (sic) okay”. I told her I could never have that sign in my house because it had a grammatical error and she just cracked up! That was the whole point of the sign. 😄

  161. I would love a copy! It’s certainly on my list of Books I’m Most Looking Forward to Reading in 2026 list!

  162. I’m having one of those nothing is okay seasons right now and would love to have this!

  163. I’m so looking forward to your new book!! I’d love to win a copy! But if not, I’ll be ordering as soon as possible! Thank you so much Jenny!

  164. I just realized my last comment had no email address associated with it, but I would absolutely love to win your new book! Yay! New Jenny Book!

  165. Omg, why am I so late to post! There are so many people ahead of me. Sheesh. Does that matter?

  166. Jenny I have all of your books. I’m looking forward to reading your lastest. Thank you

  167. I’d love to win an arc! But I will still buy one eventually and yay! looking forward to it. 🙂

  168. I’m super excited to read your new book and to share it with friends. It’s on the “book club” list for me 🫶🏼

  169. Listen, I’ve been a fan girl since your days at the Chronicle. You have saved me numerous times in the past 18 years and I have all of your books. I am absolutely impatiently awaiting this one to help navigate my divorce + empty nest. I’m mostly just so damn happy for you though 🫶🏻 you continue to give a lot of hope to us weirdos!

  170. Oh wow, congratulations! I am ao excited read this and will literally be crying happy tears if I am the lucky random recipient of your giveaway!

  171. I would love a copy! I already have all your other books, working my way thru Broken right now

  172. Congrats, Jenny! Well deserved. I have already pre-ordered the ebook, but I’d love the chance to win an advance copy. <3

  173. I am so excited for a new Jenny book and you are TOTALLY qualified to share your survival tips.

  174. Yay for you, Jenny! This anxiety-ridden gal can’t wait to get some pointers!

  175. I’ve read your other books and am very much looking forward to reading this one. Your willingness to be so honest and transparent is courageous; you somehow reach out and hold hands with your readers, comforting those who need it and entertaining those along for the ride.

  176. I am ecstatic that you are already at the ARC phase! I cannot WAIT to read your book, and I would love an ARC. If you don’t pick me, I will.have to STORM OFF and buy a signed copy from Nowhere when it hits shelves.

  177. I love all your books and would be beyond thrilled and honored to ARC read for you

  178. I look forward to reading this! If it’s anything like the others it will be amazing.

  179. I would adore a copy, and it would be so much fun to read an ARC copy! I love everything else you’ve written, and look forward to reading this one, too.

  180. Of course I want one!
Also, I will be in SA 3/1-3/13, will you be at the bookstore any of those days?

  181. That would be so wonderful! I cannot wait for this book to come out ! I’ve got all your books in physical and audio versions! Excited to add this to the collection! An ARC copy would be an incredible addition!

  182. I so love you, too! I preordered the book as soon as I heard about it so my Jenny Lawson collection will be complete and up-to-date. You, wonderful creature, have been my companion on many occasions and I look forward to the new book with great anticipation. And I know I will love it.

  183. Excited for a new book. The first two I constantly reread for pick me ups.
Hope you have a happy new year!

  184. I’m going to wait and buy myself a book, but could you please donate a book to the local women’s shelter?
I’m sure it will help a lot of people who are struggling, to know that a perfectly imperfect person made their mess their message, and is creating a community of people who truly understand that it’s ok to not be okay, to not be perfect, to be weird, and everything else that makes us unique and strange and wonderful exactly as we are.
    We super love you back!

  185. Fingers crossed!🤞📚

Deep breaths and happy thought to dispel any remaining anxiety. 🫶

    You got this! 💯 👏

  186. Yaaaay, YOU!!! If I’m picked, DOUBLE YAY!!! If not, I’m buying one!! 😍😍😍😍

  187. I’ve loved all your other books and I’m sure I’ll love this one when I finally get it, also I wanted to remind you that the consensus is that you are awesome, just for when the brain lies and tells you otherwise.

  188. I would love one.
Imperfect copy sounds wonderful too. “It’s OK” that it isn’t the final.
    Better in my opinion. 🙂

  189. I am SO SO SO EXCITED that there’s another book!!!! Eeekkkk!!!!! I can’t wait to read!!!! Happy happy happy!!!

  190. I am so excited to read the book! I’m actually getting TMS right now and it’s going very well. The reason I even knew about it was your book! Thank you for being vulnerable and sharing and helping a fellow strangeling

  191. Would love to be the winner for once but, if not, I will definitely buy one!!! You rock, Jenny!!

  192. Congratulations on the of-course wonderful pre-reviews! And sure, I’d love to read your new book sooner rather than later 😊

  193. I also have named your new book MOST ANTICIPATED READ FOR 2026! Congratulations, Jenny! You deserve every accolade. You’re writing – books, blog posts, drawings … have helped me and sooo many! Much Love!

  194. I can’t wait to read it! I have all your books and give everyone I know one of your books as a gift.

  195. I have loved all of your books so far and am so excited for this one, too. Thank you for your generous offer and consideration.

  196. I’m so excited for this book, and even more excited to be able to buy it for someone I love who is getting through a time where everything is really not okay,

  197. I love you Jenny! I love your books! If you still have a early copy to send out, I would read it in one day. Can’t wait to buy it!

  198. I am beyond excited for the book, and for getting extra copies for our Little Free Library! You manage to always make me laugh, feel less alone, and just bask in the human-ness we all bring into the world. Thanks for being you and sharing yourself with the rest of us!

  199. Omg! I’ve been following you since the first book of yours I read, let’s pretend this never happened! I enjoy reading them so much and they always put a smile on my face!! I can’t wait to read the new one!!!

  200. I am SO EXCITED about your new book! I just completed Nowhere Bookshop’s 2025 bingo card!

  201. So excited for you, AND excited for me and all of your other readers who get to read your next book! Thank you for trusting us with it…we’ve got you! 🤗

  202. I would be delighted with advice on how to be okay, no matter how imperfect. Which could be more fun, tbh.

  203. Fuck yes! I would love one! When “Let’s Pretend…” came out, I was working at thr Arkansas State Library. I read parts of the book to co-workers. Several still tell me they read your stuff in my voice. So proud of all you do!

  204. So excited! I’ve dabbled in writing all my life (never published), and know it’s not realistic, but I could read a book a year from you. So looking forward to this!

  205. Are you kidding me?!? I’d LOVE a slightly imperfect copy of your newest book! You inspire me to embrace every weird, odd, shadowy little corner of myself and I absolutely love you for it. xoxo

  206. Oooohhhhhhhhhh I would love a signed copy from you! <3 I've never gotten one of your books signed before but they are all on my shelf. I think I would like to be implicated in a crime if I ever got you to sign a book for me 😀

  207. So excited for you and for all of us who will get to read your new book! I would love to be considered for an advanced copy!

  208. Omg I’m so excited!!! It would be awesome to win, but getting it no matter what!

  209. *raises my hand* I would love a signed ARC, and I promise to review it not only for the Seattle Mystery Bookshop (now defunct but alive in people’s hearts) newsletter, and on my own personal (upcoming) author blog.

  210. God damn it I couldn’t figure out how to sign in but the 567 anonymous was me, in case it gets picked. I liked it to connect it with me. I don’t fucking know

  211. I have copies of all your other ones! Need this one too! My youngest (15) loves them too!

  212. Would adore a copy of this with an absolutely UNHINGED inscription to add to my Jenny library 💙. And it’s my birthday soon!

  213. I would pass out if I got this!!! It would be a most prized possession from my best friend (who doesn’t actually know me at all). ❤️ Kristin Dunlop

  214. Oh man. With my husband and I both fighting cancer, I’ve been struggling to be ok while nothing is ok. I’d love to be a winner here!

  215. Can’t wait to get my hands on a copy (arc or not!) And honestly, thinning the time of year when it feels needed the most. Thank you for being you 💖

  216. Furiously Happy helped change how I’ve dealt with my own chronic conditions and I’ve bought all your books since. Eagerly awaiting the new one!

  217. I can’t not throw my name in for this. It’s been a hell of a year and I am not okay. I’m so looking forward to reading your new book and would welcome any and all reminders of how it’s perfectly okay to be imperfect.

  218. I would love it! Your books saved our spirits while we were waiting for our home to be rebuilt after the fire. It turned my wife and I into instant ride or die fans, and can’t wait to read this!

  219. Oh my goodness! I cannot wait- even if I don’t get a free copy, I will rush to buy one! Something good to look forward to!

  220. Was hoping secret Santa would hook me up with the preorder, but instead I’ll be ordering straight from the store hoping to get an autographed copy for myself and friends I’ve shared your humor with when it’s out in March 😘

  221. Ah! I would love one! I haven’t pre-ordered yet because you mentioned possibly doing some kind of bonus for it, but I’m excited to read it!

  222. Jenny – you nailed it. The imperfect *is* the perfect. I feel like I speak for many when I say that you make us feel seen, and that’s the most important thing one human being can do for another. This is why I crazy love you. Thank you.

  223. I can’t wait to read it! I’d love to win an advanced copy, of course. The mistakes will just give it that handcrafted with love vibe, like when your friend knits you a weird, lumpy scarf.

  224. This would be the greatest late Christmas present ever! Love your books and you!

  225. Perfectly imperfect and think of it as you are sharing the life skills that have helped you survive and we all need that

  226. I don’t know that I can wait until spring for this to come out!!! I promise to pay it forward with my pre-ordered copy. Cluck Cluck

  227. Honestly I’d trust advice from you compared to most people, especially when it comes to surviving the hard parts of life!

  228. I’ve already got 2 on pre-order for me and my BFF, but I always have room for a JL signed copy!! Love all your books!!

  229. Can’t wait to read this, even if it’s different than your others. You have much to offer in whatever form.

  230. My only child leaves for college this summer and I know this book will be such a useful tool. On my TBR for sure!

  231. Hi Jenny, it’s so generous for you to share your experiences and coping strategies with every willing reader. I’m hoping to read your book to my 87 year old anxiety riddled dad who ended up in the hospital this week with bleeding ulcers. I know I will benefit from your talents and courage.

  232. I cannot wait to read your new book! My daughter turned me on to your books, and now I’m not sure which of us loves you more…I think it’s me though ❤️

  233. We are looking forward to reading your next book (even after reading autographed copies of your previous books) and would love to have another autographed one to add to the pile. (Three is a pile, isn’t it?)

(However, my daughter will probably have to get her own copy, too.)

  234. I would love an advanced copy. If I am a lucky recipient I promise to give it a good home.

  235. How exciting! I’d love to receive an ARC, but even if not chosen, I’m still looking forward to reading this!

  236. I read this and went to put in my preorder, but thankfully decided to check my email and found I’d already done that in August. Would love an early copy though!

  237. Yesssssss please, put me in ghe drawing! This past year has SUCKED for my mental health (well, I guess for everybody’s, or at least the people I want to know), and I could use a little win…

  238. It would be so awesome to get an ARC copy of your book. I really enjoy your candid and funny outlook on life. Are you in need of an actual ARC reader? I do this for a couple authors.

  239. I always anticipate your new books. And I thought I was too tired to figure out how to comment here 😅

  240. I can’t wait to read it. I would love an advance copy. Thank you for being a huge ray of sunshine in a scary, uncertain world. XO

  241. Life goal – be in DIA shortly after you visit Tattered Cover and get one of your signed books. Or any airport actually, but DIA has the best odds! lol

  242. Being imperfect makes us beautifully human! And we would not have the amazing community we do without you.
I’m so excited to add this book to my preorders.

  243. I need to remember to put this on my birthday wishlist. I have always, always loved your books <3

  244. OMG! That would be the perfect addition to my other Jenny Lawson books. I even purchased one used that has your signature, albeit, without your funny drawings and cute phrases. This one would have a wonderful home on my bookcase along with my Legos.

  245. Based on the title alone this is exactly what I am needing to read! So excited for you and this release!

  246. I can’t wait to get this one!
I gift your books to all my friends and read them at least once a year!

  247. I’d love it. I’ll keep it with the imperfect advance copy of a book by Hildur Knutsdóttir I got in Iceland. Have you read her book “The Night Guest”?

  248. As a teacher in today’s climate, I would LOVE a copy of this! I have a lot of days of trying to figure out how to act like I’m okay in front of my students while I’m definitely NOT feeling okay.

  249. I would absolutely LOVE an early copy, how fun would that be?! I just ordered another copy of Furiously Happy for my daughter for Christmas and had you “go nuts” in the inscription, you did not disappoint, lol! She totally geeked out when she opened it and then laughed hysterically at what you wrote, you rock, thanks for giving us a super fun Christmas memory!

  250. Eagerly awaiting & thankful to peek behind the curtain so I can remember it’s ok to not always have everything perfect

  251. If the book is anything like the description … you have another best seller on your hands. Heck. We all knew that anyway. Congrats on the upcoming success story and thank you for sharing your insights.

  252. Your books have helped me through some very difficult times! I cannot wait to read your next book!

  253. I’ve already preordered it from nowhere but I would love to have another copy. I love you lots Jenny and I think we should be friends.

  254. Would love the new book especially with your comments. I love recommending your books to anyone that might benefit from your healthy “it’s okay to not be ok” viewpoint.❣️

  255. Hi Jenny. I’m sure your book will be loved and appreciated. We all go through cr*p times, and hope to come out on the other side. Looking forward to reading this in 2026. Congratulations.

  256. So excited for you and your new book, Jenny!!! I always laugh out loud when reading your writing- it’s the best!

  257. I’ve already pre-ordered mine BUT I would love for my friend to get an advance copy. She’s the one that first introduced me to you, gifting me your Let’s Pretend This Never Happened on audio book (set of CDs!) during a difficult time when my newborn faced a devastating diagnosis. Sadly, my friend just lost her son to suicide. I’ve pored through books trying to find the right one to keep her company as she faces this unexpected loss…and I have no doubt that your words will come in clutch when the time is right. Her world will never be the same and as she navigates this new “normal”, I want nothing more than someone to be able to share with her how to be okay when you’re definitely not okay. Your humor and truth have helped me through the toughest times in my life, thanks to her! I want to be able to do the same for her as she faces this painful chapter in her own story.

  258. When I found your book Broken it literally saved my life. Since then I have read all of your other books too and each one has made me feel so seen. My life is also filled with all of the weird autoimmune specialty doctor visits and the intestinal metaplasia scares and the depression and health anxiety that comes along with those things. Your humor and your blog posts lift me up in ways that my friends and family just don’t get. I would love a copy of your book, but I know that no matter what I will buy a copy and read it as soon as I can. Thank you for existing and for putting your thoughts out into the world, it has made such a difference.

  259. I can’t wait to read the new book! I know it will be brilliant like all the others.

  260. I can’t wait to read this one!!! I have to keep rebuying your other books because I keep giving them away to my friends!!!

  261. Sounds like the title of my life taking care of Mom with dementia. I need the help, I would love to have a copy.

  262. Very much looking forward to this new book, and I would LOVE a sneak peek. Your voice and POV are simply real & raw, and what we need more of!

  263. Looking forward to reading this! Congratulations on all the wonderful feedback so far!

  264. I would cry buckets of happy tears if I received this imperfectly perfect book from you.

  265. Please! Thank you for the consideration! I tell everyone in South Georgia about you!

  266. I love your work and i can’t wait to read this next one. I always have a tower of TBR books, but yours always make it to the top of the list!

  267. I have read all your other books and really enjoyed them. Thank you for giving away a copy to someone.

  268. Awesome! I am sure it is going to be as amazing as the other books.
Even crazy squirrels trying to bring down the Abominable Snowmen couldn’t change that!

  269. What!!?? That’s awesome! You are the only author I follow and have to read every book!!

  270. I would be absolutely thrilled to have a signed copy of your book. I love everything you’ve created. ❤️

  271. You are amazing and I can’t wait to read this book. Hopefully I will be renewed to teach next year at my very conservative university (in spite of my ally ship of nearly every demographic that does not attend it) but in case I’m not and can’t afford to buy a book, I would love to get an imperfect copy. You get me through so many hard days just by being out there being weird too. Thank you for keeping at it!

  272. Yes, I would be thrilled to add this to all your other signed books I love in my collection

  273. ME PICK ME!!!! I was just thinking about how this should be our next family read — can’t wait!!! XOXO

  274. Yes please! I have all of your books, and now I’m on a journey of having a SIGNED copy of all of your books! I got my first signed copy for Christmas. Keep the momentum going please? Also thank you for signing Let’s Pretend This Never Happened for me!!! I love you to bits. You’ve changed my life with your writing. I can always find solace here, with you. Thank you for that <3

  275. I have this book preordered. All of your other books have always given me comfort.

  276. Have loved your writing for years and your drawings have been an inspiration during dark times. No one better to advise on walking through the storms inside than someone who has been through time and again.

  277. Oh yes, please!!! I still cry with laughter just THINKING about Beyoncé and Victor!

  278. I just received my Furiously Happy signed book from Nowhere that I bought myself for Christmas (it’s as if I don’t already have a few copies of the book everywhere), but this one is pure happiness and joy! You wrote about koalas and murder (which is just magic in itself because I love both of those things – just to clarify, I don’t murder people, I’m just obsessed with crime shows, and every time my son wanders through the TV room he says “Jesus Mom, why is someone always getting murdered when you watch TV?” And koalas and their syphilis is so weird, but hilarious. Anyway, thank you for all of your writings – at my lowest moments, they help bring me back. xoxox

  279. Yes please! I love imperfect things bc I’m a awkward racoon in a trench coat pretending to be a functional human

  280. I would love a signed copy. I have a preorder but I know someone that would really enjoy it that I could give it to.

  281. Ack! Comment 782 reporting back to say that I forgot to log in before commenting before so it showed up as anonymous and I can’t edit that so I have to comment again which is probably breaking some sort of comment rule but here I am. 😛

  282. Gaaaahhhh!!!!!! I cannot WAIT to read your newest book! While I have your print books, I still also love the audiobooks. I like to listen to them when I’m struggling with my brain or body, and having you actually read your own words is so impactful. Thank you for just being you.

  283. I would absolutely love an advance copy with extra “flaws” which I’m sure will be fun, like the time my husband and colleagues published a “proofread” report about various Native American sacred sites, but the proofreader didn’t notice the catch the error in which they mistakenly were called “scared” sites instead of “sacred” sites because scared is a word.

  284. Even if I don’t get an advanced copy, I can’t wait to have another weird little Jenny Lawson animal peeking out from my shelf!

  285. I would love an arc of your new book. I have read your books and love them so much. You’re great!

  286. I can’t wait to read this one…I could definitely use some help/advice right now!

  287. I would love a book. Thank you for considering and thank you for all the fun throughout the years.

  288. 2025 has be awful. Our house burned down and we lost our cats Pumpkin and Jack that night. Living in temporary housing, loosing everything, and the hits just keep coming. Everything is not okay and a little light in my life would help keep the darkness at bay.

  289. I cannot wait to read this book! I like to reread you other books to fill in the time until I can get this new one.

  290. Your books pulled me through numerous psychiotic/depressive episodes. Even when I couldn’t read them, I would listen to them on Audible. I went to your book signing in Austin at the Book People. Thats how long I’ve been following you. That was the greatest day of my life and you helped my life get better just by reading your books. I would buy your books and give them to other nurses I worked with. You are simply the best Jenny.
Can’t wait to read your new book.

Just so you know, my son at that time saw how I was always reading christian/devotional books that never really seemed to help, so for Christmas one year he bought me Pretend this never happened and then I was hooked. He always told me I needed to read other books. So thanks to him, my reading horizon expanded. And then I started reading Allie Brosch who is so freakin awesome as well.

    JennieSews

  291. Can’t wait to read it. I happened to be reading Furiously Happy when I learned that Ryan, a dear friend, was in the hospital in deep pain with a cancer diagnosis. When I got to his room, he was minimally responsive and his wife was numb. Both were avid readers but were unfamiliar with your work. I decided it was the perfect opportunity to read them a few excerpts. Both laughed through their tears at first and then just laughed and laughed without tears. You could feel them both come back into the world. Ryan eventually passed, but he had a good year with his family before departing. His wife assured me that she credits that visit for giving him strength to begin fighting.

  292. Oh Jenny! I would love to have this copy as a reminder that things are never perfect. What an amazing idea!

I have followed you since before Beyoncé was staring down Victor (totally not towels). I need you to know that your candidness and frank honesty helped me recognize that the brain lies and maybe there was a road out. So I can’t wait to get my hands on this new book!

  293. Yes please, although I’m not sure if you’ll send it to Australia? but I 100% know you’re qualified to give wisdom as that is what every one of your other books has done for me 🥰

  294. I am a Public Services Manager at a library and recommend your books whenever someone wants a recommendation guaranteed to make them laugh! Mandi W.

  295. You are one of only two authors who have made me guffaw while reading. And sometimes a good guffaw is what gets you through the day.

  296. So excited! I’ve been reading and recommending your books since I was a bookseller when Let’s Pretend This Never Happened came out – we got to borrow new hardcovers free for two weeks as long as we could keep them looking perfect. I somehow managed to spare them, though I don’t think I’d be capable anymore!

  297. Man oh man, could I use a copy of this right now for my daughter….nothing is okay and I’m trying to help her be ok. We love you- she loves listening to me laugh aloud when I read your books. I pre-ordered a copy and can’t wait to read it. ❤️

  298. Jenny, I love your blog. You make me laugh and feel better when I’m down. Also, my wife covets your giant chicken, and I’m curious if it made the move with you, and does it still stare at Victor through the window?

  299. I used to proof our engineers emails before they went out, too funny, he’s since started using AI out of convenience. ….AI’s already replaced me 🤷🏼‍♀️😂

  300. I have been “not ok” all year but you have made it easier to feel that way.. Thank you

  301. Oh my goodness, I’m very excited for this book! I take your books with me on long trips and read the best stuff out loud to my husband, who is initially annoyed and then starts laughing with me, and then at me because I start laughing so hard that I cry. So joyful and beautiful, even in the darkness.

  302. here’s a comment! if I don’t get randomly selected i’ll buy it anyway so like, may the odds be ever in whoever’s favor or whatever. yay book!

  303. Please send me a copy of your new book. I am sick, have major ansiety, and have had six cancer surgeries. I am 72 years old and want to be around awhile longer. I have your other books and love them.

  304. *happy flaps* omg omg omg I can’t wait!! I neeeeeeeeed to add this to the rest of them on my shelf! I also will obviously need the audio book because it just hits so much more perfectly getting to hear it in your own voice and tone and flow. 💜💜💜💜💜 I can’t wait!!!

  305. I would be honored to be picked and I would have jealous friends too!! PICK me please!!

  306. I stumble and fall then try and pick my self up again. Your book would definitely pick me up 🙂

  307. I would love a copy of your new book. I connect with all your books in one way or another. I have physical copies of your books and audio. The way your tell your story in written form and in narration is awesome. I would love it if I was chosen to receive an advanced copy. ❤️.

  308. Ohhh, I’d love a signed copy. You make my day every time I read something you wrote. 💕

  310. Hi Jenny, I went to your NJ stop on the tour for your first book! Loved meeting you. Would love an ARC of your new book! This has been one of my most challenging years, looking for self care now.

  311. I stumble and fall then try & get back up again. Yours words always pick me up gain! Looking so forward to your new book!!!

  312. I can’t wait to read this one. And would love an advance copy as I love the imperfect.

  313. Perfectly imperfect especially if it has a crazy amount of random inscription writing to me written by you inside. Would be wonderful.

  314. I would absolutely love to receive an ARC! You could sign a paper towel and send it to me and I would be thrilled!

  315. I cannot wait to read this!! Everything you have made has been wonderful ♥️ I’m sure this will be amazing

  316. Aw, Jenny. You don’t need to doubt yourself. You are uniquely qualified to talk about this. Even if I don’t win, I’ll buy it. I’ve got the whole collection, so far!

  317. I’m so excited as Furiously Happy changed my life. I would be tickled for an advanced copy of your latest. Congratulations on all the early buzz!

  318. Aaaaaah!! I’m so excited to have another one of your novels on my bookshelf!! You’ve been an inspiration for nearly 15 years. “Adds to TBR list.”

  319. How amazing are you and this offer?! I would love to have a copy and I can’t wait to read it!

  320. You got me through a tough time after my parents died two days apart. I look forward to your next book as I can always use your wisdom, experience and humor ❤️

  321. Ooooo!!! Ooooo!!! I want to join the pool-of-random-people-to-be-drawn-from!!!
*waves hand while jumping up and down with excitement*
    *thus startling the cat*

  322. This was a great reminder to pre-order my copy straight from Nowhere! I’d love to be on the list for a preview copy too!

  323. How did I not know this was on the horizon?? Oh, right, I have a toddler AND I’m pregnant. I can’t wait to read it!

  324. Thanks for the chance Jenny! I would love my very own copy! I’ve borrowed all your books from the library ❤️

  325. So excited you have a new book coming out! I promise to read it even if I have to buy my own copy!

  326. I have already pre-ordered this book, but I would love thus copy, as the pre-orders dont have any of your wonderful stories/doodles. I can always give my bought book to someone who would love your work as much as I do.

  327. I am so excited to receive my copy next year. I pick up every “preview” copy of books I find, and I love ’em. Would like to see yours, too! Especially now when nothing is interesting anymore.

  328. I basically named my business after your blog posts, Red Dress Products, and I’d love to win this copy.

  329. So excited for your next book! I will definitely order it but I’d love an advance copy.

  330. When I read “Is This Real Life,” the beginning of Queen’s ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ immediately started playing in my head. Looking forward to reading it – congratulations!

  331. I can’t WAIT for this book to come out!! I am so excited and I think you are very qualified to write it!!

  332. I am so looking forward to reading it! I review books on Instagram (mostly Horror and Sci-Fi) and have been begging for an ARC.

  333. OMG I am so excited to hear this, I was thinking just the other day that I would be so happy if you came out with another book!

  334. Just preordered! So excited to read another Jenny Lawson book. I’ve loved all the others!

  335. Super excited to read this. If I get picked could you have Victor and Hailey sign it too?

  336. I always seem to find your books when they are most needed in my life, or revisit them without thinking how much I need their message right then. I would be very happy (and more okay) of an advance copy of this one found its way to me.

  337. Kick ass YES I want a copy! And if you give me one I won’t have to buy it and that will make at least me happy. But if I win, I’ll buy another just to get it in the hands of other people.

  338. I have loved everything you have written and I so look forward to this new book as well.

  339. I have all your other books – I must have this one! Of course I’ll buy it if I don’t win one. Can’t wait to read it!!!

  340. Years ago I have my signed copy of Furiously Happy to a student who needed it. It never came back to me 🤷🏼‍♀️ I would love a copy of this one!

  341. Oh I could use this right now. My mom died a few weeks ago and I have to, like, figure out life…? As an adult, I guess? I’m 45. I don’t know how to adult yet. And definitely not without my mom.

  342. I am so looking forward to this new book! I could use a pick me up as December has been a rough month.

  343. I would love to get the advanced copy! I’m flat broke. Almost being evicted. Work is undervaluing me and my education. I’m sending out resumes to everywhere. Ugh. Blah blah blah. Congrats on the great anticipation for the new book!

  344. I am so excited to read this book. You are so wonderful and I would not even mind the misprints because like you said it is all about the process and the learning.

  345. I am so excited for this book! I was in university when I discovered “Let’s Pretend This Never Happened,” and it was the first book to make me cry with laughter. Thank you for inviting us into your beautiful brain and for releasing new and wonderful stories every time we really need them! You have given us a community of other people who would rather saw off their own feet than deal with too much social interaction, and made us feel better when our brains stop working, and other humans look at us as though they cannot fathom how we both managed to get dressed this morning and convinced the world that we have the right to handle any sort of employment (though I frequently manage to check in guests wearing an improperly buttoned cardigan and have received more than one “are you sure there isn’t someone else I am supposed to be speaking with?”) Sending so much love and gratitude from Northern Canada, where it is currently blizzarding so aggressively that the Weather Network’s advice is, “I mean, don’t pin all your hopes on being able to leave your house this week. Maybe invest in puzzles and a fireplace because your power is most definitely going to go out.”
Also, thank you for being brave and narrating your own audiobooks because it makes them PERFECT! As one of the millions of people who call you their favourite author, on the off chance you read this, this is a warm hug and a thank you I have been meaning to send for more than a decade. Thank you for giving so much love and hope to the rest of us! Know that your updates brighten our lives and bring so much joy to more people than you would ever comfortably want to meet <3

  346. I’d love a book although I’ve pre-ordered one already. Congratulations on your pre- accolades.

  347. So ready to read this, Jenny! We’re so excited for your new adventure release! Thank you for sharing! I’d love that advance copy!

  348. I will always read your books so yes please! But either way, can’t wait to read it.

  349. Jenny, I would be SO THRILLED to receive a personally notated copy from you! I love your work. And honestly, you have often inspired me in all your beautiful imperfection. 😍

    Love, Deborah
    deborah.hymes@gmail.com

  350. I love your books, have them in ebook format and in paper! (Signed, of course…) Of course I’ll be reading anything you write new. You couldn’t be more qualified to write it, as well.

  351. Yes, please, I love your books so much!! Congratulations on all the positive feedback for it!

  352. That would be amazing , thank you 🙂 Have been a reader of yours for a long while and find you and your family to be really genuine in your love for each other

  353. I’ve also abandoned a hot yoga class, but it only took me less than 10 minutes (too hot, water bottle in the change room, teacher wouldn’t let me leave to go get it, so I sat on my mat for 50 minutes trying not to sweat more than I absolutely had to)

  354. I absolutely love your books! You read them to me through audio books as well as me reading them on my own. (I own them all). You have helped me through a lot of hard times and made me realize that it is okay to laugh, even at myself. Thank you Jenny. You are loved!

    Renee

  355. I would absolutely love an imperfect copy of your newest book! Would be the ultimate “push present” for when my baby girl is due in February 2026 🙂

  356. I would definitely prefer an imperfect copy of your book, and I am A-OK with you using red pen, and not green, to point out every. single. error. Please and thank you!🙏🙂

  357. Having been a longtime fan and follower, I’m so excited that your next book is so close! Thanks to you, I’m still battling through my mental health journey (including three rounds of TMS – which I NEVER would have tried without your experience). A few years ago I read your letter to your health insurance company out loud to my dad as it was perfection. I remember exactly when and where I was while doing so. My dad unexpectedly passed away in October and everything hurts so much since then. But suddenly having this memory, feeling the fabric of the couch, how my legs were tucked while I read it, how late at night it was, how it was just the two of us after a long day (on a family vacation!)…I’m now smiling. Thank you for this unexpected happy memory!

  358. wow! once upon a time when “you are here”, was just out, I spotted you in Breda bookshop! you told twitter you were still in your pyjamas! Now in another city, I woul love to read an imperfect, perfect book from my favourite author again!! Love you many! 😀

  359. So excited to read this book. This last year has been a hellscape for so many of us. I will take any tips available.

  360. Thank you for writing these books. They always touch on things that I have been through.

  361. Have something to look forward to reading now! I’m sure it will be useful and filled with wisdom and whimsy

  362. I’m very excited for another Jenny Lawson book to add to my collection. Keep up the good work. You made the world a better place Jenny.

  363. I can’t wait to read it! Your books have always helped remind me that I’m not the only one hashtag Going Through It.

  364. You are so qualified! I’d love a copy. I could really use it right now. My husband just died unexpectedly and my daughter and I just became estranged. Bad 2025 for me.

  365. I can’t wait to read it! You’re one of the very few writers that can make me laugh out loud, cry and give me hope. I can relate to so many of your experiences. (((hugs)))

  366. I would absolutely LOVE an arc! But either way I’m reading this as soon as I get my hands on it!!

  367. Would love an advanced copy for my sister-in law who lost her husband in September. I’m sure this would help. Thanks Jenny, for all the laughs and just being you! X

  368. I would LOVE ONE, Jenny! I understand the imposter syndrome thing. Your books have left me laughing and thinking and crying. Whenever we pass a GIANT rooster in someone’s yard, we yell out “KNOCK KNOCK MOTHERFUCKER!!!” and laugh and laugh. Ahh, it’s the little things.

  369. Not for me, my cousin Lori. Her coping skills seem to exacerbate the anxiety so often and could use a friend like you in her arsenal. ((Hug))

  370. Would love to be included in the randomness – I have a friend who lost her spouse to a very sudden heart attack awhile back and would love to gift it. Naturally I’ll be buying a million copies anyway for everyone I know! As a former English major though, I wanna see those edit notes 😉

  371. Oh my goodness, I would be ecstatic to win this, especially with your margin notes! Thank you for the chance to win!

  372. You are amazing in many ways , but being able to continue writing seems the most incredible superpower! Can’t wait to read it…

  373. I can’t wait to read your new book! You bring such great joy to the world. Thank you for sharing yourself with us 💕

  374. I’ll take advice from you on how to survive anytime. The book sounds like something we all need.

  375. I am so excited for this book!! And you are exactly the person I want to be taking advice from–someone who’s been there and gets it!

Also I would totally need out over edits in the margins 😀

  376. I continue to be amazed at how you create and put good out in the universe while dealing with the multiple challenges. Rock on, and thank you.

  377. Ooops previous content I left said I couldn’t find it in Australia well no shut Sherlock it’s a Proof copy! (My brain went Monkey monkey underpants and ran away) congrats on what I’m sure will be another fantastic book that makes me laugh and cry sometimes at the same time! 😁💜

  378. I cannot wait! I feel like I preordered this AGES ago! I’ve read and gifted each of your other books to at least a dozen people and recommended them to even more. Thank you for sharing your life!

  379. I’ve always wondered if these are actually random
    So here is something random
Trees are actually just large plants

  380. As a quilter I am often told “Finished is better than Perfect”. I take that and run with it…

  381. YES PLEASE I’m a librarian and I get to read some ARCs and I have to read others and I would LOVE to read yours.

  382. I pre-ordered the book back when you first announced it. I’m so excited to read it! 🙂

  383. So looking forward to reading your new book! Look at all you accomplish despite all you deal with. You’re amazing and a role model. Why shouldn’t you write a book about how you’ve thrived in the midst of everything? You are an expert.

  384. You know you could just literally print up all your blog posts and it would still be hilarious, right?

  385. Waiting for your new book release has given me something to look forward to. Many of us are concerned about what 2026 might bring, but I know at least one good thing is coming – your book!! So come what may, your book will get us through! Love you tons and best wishes for 2026 ♥️

  386. I’ve already commented once, but I really really need to know if “monkey monkey underpants” is a common saying in Australia and, if so, I can’t get over how much of my life has been wasted without knowledge of this phrase.

  387. I am so excited. I can not wait. I am constantly talking about how helpful your books are and how much I love you blog. You never fail to make my day better.

  388. I’ve read and/or own your other books, and I’m definitely looking forward to this one! Thanks for this opportunity.

  389. I have all of your books and have given them as gifts – I’m certainly going to buy copies to spread around!
I won a cross stitch kit (from you and Subversive CrossStitch) so if you pick me, go on to someone else – I’ve already been a winner – spread the winning around!

  390. Pick me…choose me.. love me! I have been a long time fan of your blog & have all your books! You are my light in the darkness to remind me that depression lies & I WILL get through the spirals.

  391. How did I miss this!?!? I will have to go preorder and forget about it until it arrives!

  392. I would love to be randomly picked for a preview copy, with your personal proofreading.

  393. Oh yes, I’d love one! I think I have already pre-ordered (and if not, will immediately rectify that) but I’ve always wanted the chance to receive an advance copy of a book from a favorite author.

  394. Can not wait to have a copy. So far I am at the point of owning 1.3 copies of all of your books (ex never gave my hard cover of ‘let’s pretend’ back had to buy it in paperback too)

  395. Really looking forward to getting a copy of your new book! Can’t wait!
Wishing you and yours A wonderful New Year!

  396. Your books have gotten me through so much. I just want to thank you for writing them.

  397. Would love to read your new book, I have been reading your posts for years. I love how you are authentically yourself! We all need to embrace our uniqueness.

  398. I am looking forward to reading your new book! You are a gifted writer, and have an amazing gift of embracing life with all its imperfections.

  399. So exited! I have pre-ordered, but would love a chance to have a chance at an advance copy! 🥰

  400. I am so excited to read your new book and super excited for you about all the lovely advance press! I’d expect nothing less, honestly!

  401. Congratulations! I am so excited to read this & continue supporting your work. Best of luck & take care ♥️

  402. Congratulations! I am so excited to read this & continue supporting your work. Best of luck & take care ♥️

  403. So excited to read this. I have shared your writing with so many. You are making such a difference. I’d love an autographed copy!

  404. I am so excited to read this and would love to read an advance copy! Signed would be over the top exciting!

  405. As with everything you write or draw, I can’t wait to read and re-read this. I would love a signed copy. I know it will be perfectly imperfect.

  406. You are an amazing person & you share so much of yourself with your writing- being open with your mental health and infusing it with your amazing humorous narrative. I cannot wait to hear your words of wisdom!

  407. I truly cannot think of anything I would like more than an imperfect copy of your newest book. Love you as well.

  408. I would love a copy and I’d pass it along to the women in our sober living program! They should read all your books!

  409. Your books have gotten me through some particularly rough times. It’s nice to know I’m not alone. I’d love an arc of this new book.

  410. Your writing has brought me so much joy and so much comfort. Always thank you for that.

  411. My son (who is older than you) posted this on BlueSky yesterday: After having a serious mental breakdown early this year, I held myself together for months while I searched for a local intensive outpatient program that would take me. I finally found one, I did the work, and I came out stronger than I’ve ever been and with better skills to manage my brain.
I would like a copy for him.

  412. He also wrote: I’m incredibly lucky that I was surrounded by loving, supportive people, and a financial buffer from my layoff package. Without those things I’m sure I would have ended up on the street, or dead. A lot of people don’t have those things.

  413. Hi Jenny, I’ve read all your books and have similar experiences to you, I’m 19 years old and your books have helped me have a brighter outlook on my life. I would be so grateful to receive a copy of your book ❤️

  414. After a really hard year, this is giving me looking forward energy! Thank you. 🩷

  415. You shouldn’t be anxious about this book. It’s a summary of what you do best – helping other work through their lives . You’ve helped a lot of people and this book will only help many more.

  416. Oh Jenny, I am so excited for your new book! I don’t have much to look forward to, but this is it!

  417. I’d love an advance copy. I need some Jenny wisdom after a tough few years. Sending love.

  418. Oh, my God, I would love a signed copy with errors pointed out in the margins. It would be the perfect gift for one of my best friends, who struggles with mental health and anxiety, and also just learned she is on the spectrum as well. Even if I don’t win a copy, I’m going to buy one for her.

  419. I sent a few squirrel friends over to let you know how much I want this book. Sorry they got a little carried away. (You never can trust those buggars)

  420. I cannot wait to read your new book! I love your humor and your spirit. You’re an amazing writer.

  421. Can’t wait for the release. Tried to list it for a late present on my Christmas list, but my sister explained to me that’s not that works.

  422. I would absolutely love to read this early… I’m an OG blog reader who has laughed/cried through every book along the way – and even made a pilgrimage to your bookstore last year, with my teenage daughter in tow (I live in Canada). I solemnly promise to talk about the book on all my book apps and social accounts, which will reach my *dozens* of followers.

Congratulations on a fantastic early review!

  423. I would love to win this! I feel like I should write something eloquent or hilarious, but I’m sitting in my cold a$$ car with a cup of coffee, waiting for my son to finish hockey practice so I can go home and clean the house after the mess of Christmas Day and I AM TAPPED OUT 🤣 Best of luck to everyone!

  424. As a little person living in a big person world, your stories of navigating through uncomfortable and sometimes challenging situations speak to me. I cannot wait for your new book to be released but until then, I’ll be over in the corner with some markers and ‘You are Here.’

  425. Good luck from a grey, damp, cold Hamburg. (That’s the weather, and the Grauburgunder).
    XX

  426. I really would love a copy. Your words always seem to help me and I’m struggling these days.

  427. I already have a copy preordered but I wanted you to know how excited I am to read this one! Definitely on my drop everything and read all day book list.

  428. I am so excited you have written another book. And. I am so excited I actually read this email to learn about it! Yay

  429. Oh my, I need your book. The past 2 years have been horrible. I’ve lost 6 family members. I’m trying to hold the rest of us together. Life is a struggle. Each day is a choice. Yes, we are seeing therapists 🙂

  430. Well, regardless, I’m going to get a copy but I’m sure ok with an imperfect version. In reality, I hope it goes to someone who really needs it.

  431. I haven’t been able to read a book since your last book came out, and I’m so excited for this one! It’s no surprise to me that the rest of the world is too. Yay Jenny 😃

  432. Oh Ms. Jenny, I just love your work. Thank you for being yourself & encouraging us to be ourselves too ❤️

  433. I have loved every book you have written and would live anything signed.

P.S. years ago I sent you an email. You responded. It helped me in a very dark time. You are magic.

  434. You’re an autobuy for me, babe! My son and I are looking forward to the audiobook 🙂

  435. I love all of your books! I have to get your coloring book again because my kiddo some mine, lol! Can’t wait to read the new one!

  436. I cannot wait to order a signed copy! Must add to the collection. Thank you for the opportunity to win one & for just being your wonderful self. You’re my best friend in my head!

  437. You are absolutely the perfect person to write this book! This is why so many people love you!

  438. You are MORE qualified than most of the quacks out there. You have lived through struggles, been your own unique self and make SO many of us SEEN. You are freaking amazing and deserve ALL the good vibes and THAT is why all of us support you.

  439. I’ve read all of your books and cannot wait for this one!! Thank you for all you do ❤️

  440. I can’t wait to read it! I have all of your other books and re-read them when times are tough.

  441. I have all your books and love yours so much! I turn to your books whenever I’m feeling down and they’re a staple of my “antidepressant arsenal”. I’m also a writer who’s been sitting on my manuscript in perpetual revision for a decade since I first drafted it for my MFA thesis. I would love an ARC to read and also to remind me to just finish revising and try to publish my own darn book already. I love the message behind this giveaway! You’re the best Jenny!

  442. I would absolutely love a copy, and would proudly add it to my Jenny Lawson collection ❤️

  443. Yes! I’d love a copy! If I win, I will give the one I just ordered to a niece who will love and appreciate it!!

  444. I’d love a copy. Haven’t had a chance to read the last one. Buying books is not in my budget right now.

  445. Ma’am. I’ve been navigating my mental health right alongside you for so many years. You’ve given me laughs when I thought I couldn’t and made me feel a little less alone. Thank you for everything.

  446. I am going to read this regardless but having an ARC from you would be chef’s kiss. You make me laugh and feel like I’m not alone in this crazy world.

  447. Love this! I am so so so excited to read your new book. I listen to all of your books on repeat whenever I’m having a bad brain day. It’s like having a hug from a friend, and a reminder that it’s going to be okay.

  448. It would be an honor to have an arc copy by my favorite author! I’ll definitely read it either way though, can’t wait!

  449. I can’t wait to read your book. I have all of them and even one you have signed.

  450. I saw the book make that Goodreads list and got really excited! Would love that ARC but either way it’s on my to-read list for next year.

  451. I have loved all of your books and can’t wait to read this one! I’d rather get advice from someone who has experienced anxiety and depression rather than a doctor who can’t possibly understand what I’m going thru

  452. I’ve read all of your books and there isn’t any way this one is bad. Love you Jenny. You are not a weirdo. Your books were so entertaining and enjoyable especially when I pictured in my mind the things you were writing about. Can’t wait to read it. Happy Holidays to you and your family.

  453. i bought your first book for a friend going through a bad time. some time went by and i didn’t hear anything, so i wrote,.. you didnt say anything about the book, did you read it? got a reply right back. he said … im still reading it, its been slow going as every two paragraphs im laughting so hard that my eyes tear up and i have to put the book down because i cant see the pages any more. jenny, that is how people feel about your books, dont listen to anyone being negative. you are loved by many, and your books are wonderful. looking forward to seeing this new book!!

  454. Your books are wonderful, and I am certain that your next will be so as well. I read parts of them to friends. Hugs and love to you on this newest adventure!

  455. Hooray to celebrate your amazing writing!! Thank you for sharing your gifts and talents with the world. Ox!

  456. Nothing is okay…….
And I preordered a copy of the book. But would love one with your notes in it.
My life fell apart this year completely.
Between my 54 yo friend dying of a brain tumor in January because the hospital forgot to tell her it was malignant, helping my now ex through hip replacement not knowing he was just using me, then he dumped me without any discussion or warning two weeks after his mom died and after 15 years together, and then I found out he had been cheating on me with our friend. I lost 85 friends and family that I’ve been close to for 15 years, he tried to evict me twice from the house I paid half the mortgage on because he felt shame and couldn’t face me, I had to beg friends for a room to stay in because I couldn’t rent an apartment after being unemployed for 2 years (and rejected for over 400+ jobs), i was living in a shitty hotel because I had nowhere to stay, I had to leave my dog with him because I couldn’t afford to keep him (and I volunteer with an animal rescue so I’m devastated by this), having my car almost catch on fire, trying to unalive myself because of my ex, drowning in medical debt from trying to unalive myself, falling and breaking both my ankles (more medical debt) and now ending the year in a cast and a boot and a wheelchair because I just had another surgery on my ankles. This year has been absolute HELL. And I’m so looking forward to your book. It’s the only thing I’m looking forward to.

  457. Love love love your books and would be so happy to have a copy of the new one!!!

  458. Honestly, I was so excited when I found out about your new book, because my life NEEDS this right now. Would love an advanced copy; will purchase regardless. I feel like the Mervyn’s girl for this release (Open, open, open!)

  459. All of your books give advice, not directly, but indirectly….like ….calm the F down, at least you don’t have taxidermy troubles! We cannot wait to get our hands on this!

  460. I can’t WAIT! I always request your books at my various libraries if they are not already pre-ordered. Frequently, there are X number of holds on Y number of books. As a clinically depressed would-be writer with PTSD and other accessories, your books are a lifesaver. The only downside is that reading them in bed — I can’t remember ever being able to fall asleep without someone else’s words in my face first — is impossible since I wake my husband with chuckles and snorts (which, as Dave Barry always said, would be a great name for a rock band). Love you, Jenny!

  461. Looking forward to your next book – would love this copy but also planning to order for myself and others.

  462. So excited to read this. We have mental illness in our family. Your stories make me laugh and make me feel less alone when dealing with the anxiety and ups and downs that are never predictable in our household. Congratulations to you, Jenny!
I have been giving your coloring book to friends for presents this past year. I feel that everyone will benefit from it.

  463. Looking forward to this next dose of sisterly love. (Your hair looks amazing when it’s just a little loopy like that!)

  464. This is soooo my life right now. This has been the worst year of my life. I’m just trying to hang on till January in hopes that next year is better. For example: I tore my rotator cuff and bicep caring for my mother who was dying of Alzheimer’s. If my name isn’t drawn, I plan on buying it anyway and really hoping you sign it.
You’re awesome, girl! Thank you for being here with all of us.
    Tammy

  465. It would be an absolute dream to own a copy that was signed and had notes in the margins!

  466. Do you have a book tour schedule yet? If you come anywhere in Pennsylvania, I will be so thrilled

  467. I cannot wait for this release!! I have all the prior books and relate to them so much! Jenny, you keep me going. ❤️. Will buy this if I don’t win it!! Really need this right now.

  468. Congratulations, Jenny! I can’t wait to read it (like all your others). 💙 [I’m sorry this is a repeat—I *was* logged in when I left the other one.]

  469. “nothing is ever perfect and that it’s okay to try even when you don’t always get it right.” Epic words of wisdom, Jenny. If I could add, “Continued on back” then it would be great on a T-shirt. I adore your humor, and would love to have a signed copy. Thank you for being YOU.

  470. I read an advanced reader copy of ‘Let’s Pretend’ back when I was a bookseller at BN many many moons ago. I will always happily read literally anything you write. Here for the weird. You’ve helped me a lot with slaying my own demons. You’re a gem.

  471. Jenny, I cannot say how much of a positive impact your books have had on not only myself but also my 2 daughters (22 & 12). We listen to your audiobooks together, laugh at the humor, cry together at the hard parts. And most of all talk more because it’s given me a way to communicate to them that it’s okay to not be okay all the time. Thank you for all you do.

  472. I would love a chance to get a copy! I mean, I’ll get one at some point, anyway, but to add a signed copy to my collection would give me joy! Appreciate you always –
    Tracy Black

  473. I’d love a copy sent to my friend. He’s having a tough time and I worry about him. I have Broken and have read it so many times. I hope he gets as much benefit from this one.

  474. I would LOVE to have one. Your writing makes me feel so many feelings, and that is my very favorite thing about you.

  475. Eeek, so exciting!!! I adore your writing! Wait, that sounds creepy….. I’m not creepy, promise!

  476. I have Hamlet Von Schnitzel tattooed on my book sleeve, but my artist mighttt have a field day with this one! Would love a copy 🙂

  477. Oh my goodness, I would love to win this!!! I love your books and can’t wait for this next one!!!

  478. Waiting patiently with my hands folded neatly in my lap for release date.* *(lie.)

  479. I can’t wait to read it! Also I love that Rolly is just hanging out in the background of your photo ❤️

  480. I cannot wait to read or listen to this book. I still randomly laugh about the giant chicken

  481. Thanks for the chance to win. I have enjoyed your books as a way to help me better understand a loved one. I appreciate your humor and honesty.

  482. Thanks for the chance to win. I have enjoyed your books as a way to help me better understand a loved one. I appreciate your humor and honesty.

  483. I always look forward to your genius thoughts and ways of speaking your truth. You make me laugh and cry. Thank a for being you and treating us to your world.

  484. I could not be any more excited, not even if Simon LeBon appeared at my front door dripping in hot fudge!
You are such a godsend ❤️

  485. I found you by happy accident a few years ago. Honestly, I love advanced copies. I think of them as more personal than the final version.

  486. I am so excited to read this and to get a copy for my sista’ from another mista’!

  487. It would be amazing to win a copy! I have absolutely loved all your previous books

  488. Your first two books SAVED MY LIFE, for nearly 2 decades, in a toxic relationship. I’m safe now, and still listen to the audiobooks weekly. I’m so, so excited for your new book. Thank you for being a safe space to do many of us who feel alone. ❤️❤️❤️

  489. I am SO excited for a new Jenny book! Broken and Furiously Happy hit me right in the feels when I needed them the most! Keep up the good work *Raccoon Jazz Hands*

  490. I CAN’T WAIT!!! I’ve read all of your books and truly feel that they make the world a better place. That’s pure magic right there!

  491. I’m so excited to read something new from you! I love even more when they are audible

  492. You are amazing and so generous. I would love a copy that is imperfect. Because it’s a reminder that aren’t we all a bit flawed. Good luck to everyone. It will be a treasure for whomever wins it.

  493. I have all your books and love them so much. I can’t wait for this new one!! I resonate and laugh more than I have with anything I’ve read before.

  494. I must have missed the post for the release date. I’ll definitely be preordering it (next week after payday 😂) but a free ARC would be cool too!

  495. I’d love a copy! My nephew has really been struggling lately and I know this book would help him.

  496. I will read this no matter what, but an advanced copy would be glorious. Congratulations! Cannot wait!

  497. Um, yeah, if you’re not qualified to write a book like this, no one is.

Thanks for continuing to show up and keep things real—hilarious, gut-wrenching, and everything in between—we need this. We need you. 🙌

  498. Can’t wait to read! And obviously would love to add a perfectly imperfect pre-release to my J Lawson signed collection! 🐱

  499. Can’t wait to read this one! I have all of your books. Sending you so much love! ❤️❤️❤️

  500. I would love to share your imperfect writing with my son who struggles with being less than perfect in his writing (drafts are a passing mess of emotions) and animation work. If I don’t win, please share some more of your writing process, the scribbles, the crumpled pages, so we can feel better here too. We love your books so much!!

  501. I love that my chances here are so low because so many people are absolutely stoked to see what you’ve got for us next 💜 Still keeping my fingers crossed though!

  502. I feel like it’s a rhetorical question. I’d read your shipping list. Especially if it’s annotated or includes a chicken named Beyoncé.

  503. Love your books. Looking forward to reading this one. Thanks for the insights and humor

  504. OMG. I hope I win. I’ve seen your doodles/notes online – they are epic. I also LOVE reading/reviewing.
    squee

  505. I’d love to receive a copy! Your books have helped several of my family members. When my daughter was in middle school she kept stealing Let’s Pretend This Never Happened while I was trying to read it. I just recommended it to my sister.

  506. Oooh how I love your books. Your first one made me laugh maniacally on an airplane and then I became ever so grateful that you were the very first person that truly helped me understand mental health. Would truly love a signed copy ❤️

  507. Your books have been truly life changing for me. A signed copy would be everything! 💜

  508. I’ve read your other books and so excited to read this one too! Congrats on its completion!!

  509. I own your other books. It would be weirdly neglectful to have them on my shelf without their new sibling…
    – Laura Lenau

  510. There is nobody I’d RATHER get advice from! Life can be kind of a dick, and my brain is turning to pudding. I’m looking forward to your point of view, which can only be an improvement.

  511. Oh how cool! I love your books, I find your writing so relatable and I’ve recommended your first books to others so many times. I’m a big believer in you learn so much about other people if you read the books they read

  512. A chance to add the whimsical Jenny Lawson section of my home library? Sign me up!

  513. I’m so excited to read this book! I want to get one for my daughter-in-law. 🥰

  514. I don’t stand much of a chance here, but I love your wok, Jenny and having you on my blog (or is it “in my blog”?) was one of the greatest honors of my life.

  515. All of your books have touched me in different ways. I love them!! I can’t wait for the new one.

  516. I have loved all your books and can’t wait for this one. An advanced copy would be amazing! Thanks for always thinking of your community.

  517. I’ve enjoyed all your books and would be delighted to have a signed copy of your latest!

  518. As someone who also wore wonder bread sacks in winter whilst my father stuffed animals – I would love to read what you have to say in your newest book.

  519. Dealing with my own health issues, mom’s cancer diagnosis, sister’s new disability, and raising an ADHD 7 year old. Yeah. We are not okay over here.

  520. I pre-ordered the book, and I cannot wait. I both desperately want to win the Free copy, because things are kind of crashing down around me at the moment and my current coping strategies aren’t doing enough.. and I hope the Free copy goes to someone who maybe can’t afford to pre order.. so let your random picking lead you to the right comment. In the meantime all my encouragement and support. You are my favorite author, and part of the reason I’m still alive today. Hugs.

  521. Omg! I didn’t realize you had another book coming out! Can’t wait! Your other books have helped me in times of need and I bet this one will be the same! Thank you for sharing your life.

  522. não gosto de fazer suposições, mas acho que ganhar esse sorteio curaria minha depressão (ou me faria esquecer dela por cerca de três dias – que é o tempo que eu levaria para ler)

  523. Whoooohooooo, Jenny! And, yay to me, too, as I can’t wait to get my grubby little paws on this book!!!!

  524. Yes! I can’t wait to rrad this one. Ive loved everything you’ve written so far, I’m sure this will be amazing as well.

  525. Me! Me! Pick me! I had a signed copy of “You Are Here” from when you did a stop in Louisville, but it got destroyed in a house fire where I was visiting when I was in Thailand (that’s another story for another time) because I had it with me to help with my ANXIETY ffs. I promise to keep this readers copy in our fireproof safe when I’m not reading it.

  526. I don’t know if my comment posted? It said it was a duplicate? I am so confused and don’t know how to work the internet today

  527. I’d love a copy! I really appreciate you, your writing, and this corner of the internet you have created.

  528. I have enjoyed all of your books. Meeting you in Ohio is one of my top tier memories, too. Even if I promptly burst into tears because I was so excited.

  529. I would love a copy! 🙂 Already eagerly anticipating the audiobook. My bestie introduced me to your books during a very not okay season of my life and this would be an awesome gift for her. I am going to read it first though 😉

  530. I can’t wait to read it. Your books always make me smile because you are true to your self😁

  531. So incredibly excited about your new book! I would love to get an advanced signed copy! Your writing always helps me feel less alone, and now is a time when I think feeling less alone is extra important

  532. It’s been a really really shitty week. my mental health is in the toilet and I spent Christmas alone. I just…I need something to help cheer me up a little bit.

  533. Late to the party, but…. pick me.pick me pick me! I already pre-ordered, but I lack patience.

  534. Please pick me. I would love an imperfect copy with typos pointed out. Yes. I’m that person

  535. I don’t know if it’s too late but I’d really like one. I have all your books you’re my favorite author❤️

  536. Did I miss the opportunity??? Oh please please pleaseeeeeeeeeee pick me! I am a huge huge longtime fan and not above begging. I am on my knees begging. Ok, not really because it takes too long to get back up! No matter what, I can’t wait for this book! XO

  537. I am so so so stoked to get my hands on a copy of this book!! I always buy copies at my used book store when I see them of books you’ve written because I find so often I can gift them to friends that just need to know they aren’t alone. You are awesome and I so share your type of humour. Your books have been companions on hard weeks and days for me.

  538. I’ve loved all your books. Looking forward to this one especially as nothing is okay right now!

  539. I would absolutely love one!!! I already have autographed copies of your other two ♥️♥️♥️

  540. Oh my gosh yes please!! I have it on pre-order and I have Furiously Happy and Let’s Pretend This Never Happened (got the LPTNH Trivia book and a spiral bound copy of You Are Here on my wishlist) but an autographed copy would be fantastic!

  541. Your entire collection of books has kept me going through many challenging times. I can’t wait to add this to my shelf💖

  542. Hi Jenny, I saw this shirt and thought of you: “All the wrong people have imposter syndrome.” It’s available at boredwalk.com. LOVE you!!!

  543. As an editor of many books, mistakes happen in all of them, and occasionally don’t get fixed before final publication. You’ve got nothing to worry about!

  544. Looking forward to reading this! I lost my mom to a drug overdose and was unable to read for a long time after losing her. .Your book, “lets pretend this never happened” was the one to get me out of my “readers block” and I’m forever grateful. Xoxo

  545. Your books have quite literally saved my life through laughter and empathy. I cannot wait to get it in my hands.

  546. I wow! I seriously can’t wait to read it! I livevall your stories and your take on situations that most woukd are terrible!

  547. When I first picked up furiously happy, I immediately realized that all my favorite people needed to read it too. I bought copies for my mom, and bestest friends. You are here was amazing and beautiful, and also went to various friends. I am sure this book will join the tradition of me needing to get more than one, and if it was signed by you, that would be even better.

  548. Omg you have no idea how much Ive been wanting a signed copy of ANYTHING from you! Your candor and wit never fail to make me laugh even when the darkest of the brain scaries have me.

  549. Omg you have no idea how much Ive been wanting a signed copy of ANYTHING from you! Your candor and wit never fail to make me laugh even when the darkest of the brain scaries have me.

  550. I cannot wait to read your new book! I gave “Let’s Pretend This Never Happened” to my teaching partner for Christmas this year as it is one of my favorite books that I’ve ever read. I think a couple of flight attendants thought I was a tad off the first time I read it. What kind of a woman, sitting alone on a plane at night, keeps laughing, LOUDLY, while reading? Apparently, one who needs surveillance, judging from the fact that they watched me closely until we landed…
As much as I enjoy, and often need, the laughs you have given me in that book and others, I appreciate the honesty you show in your work, and admire your strength. Your sharing of your truths, about how at times life is hard and messy, quietly gives others the strength they need at times to continue to get shit done. Thank you.

  551. Ohh I would love to read an early copy! I already preordered but an arc would be awesome!!

  552. This is something I struggle with daily – do I really have the experience to be leading this?
Would absolutely love a copy, espeyone that’s not perfect. Because no one is.
Love, a northern neighbour that must go shovel (yeah, snow’s great till you have to shovel it! Lol). Please come back to Canada any time 🙂

  553. This title has been my statement to myself looking in the mirror since 1952. I was five years old and my mother was murdered by my aunt. Please consider a copy for me. Thank you. DJ Smith noregretsdj@aol.com

  554. Yes please! Librarian, and I’ve given multiple copies of You Are Here to teens here in the library (and in hospital if that’s where they are). Your words are helpful and necessary – thank you for sharing them.

  555. I’ve been calling you since for Beyoncé days for marriage advice lol; looking forward to reading some of the other advice!

  556. I can’t wait to read this – advanced copy or not. You’re a bright star in some dark nights for many of us, Jenny. <3

  557. Oooooh, yes, yes yaaaaasssss! 🙂
Can’t wait – thank you so much for wording for us!!! 🤣🤣🤣

  558. Thank you for writing on this topic. Can’t wait to read it. Would love to be entered for the advance copy!

  559. I’m so very excited for your new book.
Between you and Misha Brown’s book coming out (with special signed copies at your bookshop) I have a nice little stack started to look forward to in the new year.

I’m thankful for you and your words that are sure to make me smile.

I would be honored to have an advanced copy but will also look forward to the release date… And audio!

  560. Definitely ordering a copy and on my TBR but I’d still love this perfectly imperfect copy to add to my shelf <3

  561. I think you are the most qualified to give this kind of advice and I would love to share this book with my daughter.

  562. I would love to send this book to my son, who struggles daily with depression and is still recovering from the breakup of his first serious love affair

  563. I just gifted “Furiously Happy” to one of my very best friend and told her it’s basically medicine – the very best mix of laughter and relatable moments. I cannot wait for this book!

  564. I cannot wait to share this with my daughter. I’m thankful for you sharing yourself with us.

  565. Feels like “an irreverent, idiosyncratic grab bag” is a great description and something I would want to read!

  566. I would love to read it. I’ve really enjoyed your books and we have a copy of your adult coloring book at the free community arts center our family runs out of an old church we bought during the pandemic.

  567. I’d love a copy! I’ve bought all of your books no less than 8 times – I keep lending them out, and they never come home

  568. I’ve absolutely enjoyed each of your books so far, and made sure others knew about it. I can’t wait to read the next one!

  569. I am so excited for you. I’m also excited for me, as I am ready for more of your writing. It seriously is kinda a big deal, and you’ve been with me at my worst time like a guardian angel.

  570. One way or another, I will read your book. But not in a threatening stocky way. I just meant if I dont’t win it I will buy it and then share it with my sisters who also love your writing.

  571. Thank you for writing another book. I’m looking forward to reading it. You’re always on my list…in a good way.

  572. Spent most of the Christmas holidays in the hospital, I’d definitely love a copy (but if I don’t “win” one here I’ll definitely buy it when it’s in stores)!

  573. Sounds like any remaining mistakes are your editor’s fault. Isn’t that why they exist? I know someone that this book might help. Thanks.

(Nah. My editors caught a million problems. But some always sneak in. It’s pretty normal. 🙂 ~ Jenny)

  574. Congratulations! I have all your books and would love to have this one! One day I’ll make it out to Texas and visit Nowhere!

  575. Yes please. I would love a copy. Currently lying in my bed at 4:34pm because I am not okay.

  576. Please please please. (crosses fingers). I need something awesome to read on my vacation in 2 weeks!! I just looked this up today and realized it wasn’t out until March. 🙁

  577. Me!! Though, honestly I can’t wait for you to do the audiobook. I love listening to you read your books!

  578. I’m so excited that you wrote another book! New ideas are awesome, who wants to do the same old thing all of the time? Although your first book is my all-time favorite book, I still love all of the other ones too! You help and touch people with your writing every day, and as a person who has lived with all of this un-fun-ness, I think you’re as qualified as anyone to give advice. Keep up the great work! 🙂

  579. Like Cat (164), my copyediting mind LONGS for this book. [But I’ll be content to order when it’s ready for real!

  580. I’ll join the masses in saying I would love to receive this! Looking forward to the new book one way or another.

  581. Okay, I’ve pre-ordered the book, but I would still love to receive an advance copy so I can read it earlier than whenever the order is delivered. Needless to say, I have all of your books–2 copies of some–because they speak to my life so appropriately. Pretty please?

  582. Plllleeeeeeeeeease do an author reading/book signing at Square Books in Oxford, MS. Also, please throw my name in the (taxidermied) hat for a signed ARC. You are awesomesauce! Thank you!

  583. As a past technical editor, I would love to see what an advanced copy of a book looks like. I edited software documentation for years. Now I’m a cat sitter, so yes life is weird.

Anyway – I’m anticipating that I need this book. My brain can be a meanie. I’m looking forward to reading your tips and tricks for surviving this life.

I love all of your books. I’m sure this one won’t be an exception!

    Much love! =^..^=
    Lesa

  584. Elated to know that there is another book on the horizon.
Being able to read it pre-release would be a much needed joy bomb.
    L.L

  585. Yes! I’m obsessed with the notes you give to people in books, and I’ve been wanting one for a while, but my husband never got that for me. Maybe I shouldn’t hint, but come right out and say it, but do I have to do everything, really!?!? I’m also VERY excited about the new book, but he probably won’t read my mind and get me that for my Birthday either. So if I don’t win, I’ll buy it for myself, but winning is always better. Thank you for your inspiration!

  586. Your books help my daughter and I get through rough times with laughter. Thanks for all you do – keep going!!!! We love you.

  587. I’m excited to read your new book. (Of course, I’d love a signed one!) You’re one of my favorite authors. There are only a few who can transport me to another world and truly make me laugh out loud. Thank you for brightening my days!

  588. I’ve loved all of your books – you’re a perfectly imperfect soul – blessings to you!!

  589. I love your books and appreciate your perspectives. Because of you, I was finally able to figure out why I was so tired and in so much pain all the time.

  590. Hi Jenny. You’ve already probably picked someone but I just wanted to say that I’m really excited for your new book. Furiously happy changed my depression so I say thank you. I have all your books, so of course I’m going to get the new one. I love you.

  591. I so love you back! You are a force for good in the universe and, yes, I most definitely want to read your new book! ♥️

  592. Thank you so much for a chance to win this book. I’m so excited to read it whether I am the lucky recipient or not. I have loved your previous books!

  593. All your books pulled me through some pretty rough times and were listened to on audible as well as gifted to friends. Of course I would love to read the new one asap! I am club furiously happy thanks to you ❤️

  594. Dec 26 was my birthday, w00h00 and reading a post from you? Like a gift! (Sorry my wittiness took a couple days…or not. Not witty.)

I love all your books; I have them all and they get me thru my days. Was it “Ashleigh Brilliant” who said, “I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several of them gang up on me all at once”?

Love you muchly, would love to win, and will be ordering your new book when I can! (Fixed income and all…no room for routine fun, booooo.)

  595. I’m looking forward to reading your new book! Congratulations on your great reviews so far! <3

  596. Jenny, you are just the best. I love reading your books, and can’t wait for your new one! ♥️

  597. You are sooooo much more entertaining than Mother Theresa and I should know because I have a Mother Theresa comic book! I just found you a few months ago and I’m just about finished with Let’s Pretend This Never Happened. You are a treasure and my new role model! And I was glad to read that you celebrated your metal 5 ft chicken anniversary! Please leave it on my steps with your new book! You rock.

  598. I had no idea another one was coming out so soon! Love your others so looking forward to this one too!

  599. I can’t wait to read this! And ARC would be amazing but I will definitely get a copy either way

  600. Can’t wait. I’m currently working through PTSD caused by my abusive ex-husband (hallelujah he’s my ex). I just got your coloring book for a friend.

  601. Congratulations! I’d love to say something witty and appropriate here but my brain isn’t braining. I’ll come up with something perfect(ish) later and then completely forget to share it. Hope you understand ❤️ AK

  602. So excited about the book, it’s awesome that people are raving about it already! Very happy for uou.
And I could probably use the advice, too, so crossing my fingers to be randomly picked.

  603. I’m excited for your new book, and I love you so much I took an Uber out to the bookstore on my one afternoon off when I was in town to work a conference hoping to see you. Sadly you weren’t there, but I bought some books, took a few pics, and then Ubered back. My co-workers didn’t get why I took an Uber to a bookstore. I was very happy.

  604. Thank you for continuing to share your journey, making me feel like someone else gets it.

  605. So proud of you boldly forging into new territory! I am looking forward to reading it and laughing all the way through. 🤗

  606. Add me to the people who “can’t wait to read this in 2026”. You are such an anchor in the storm for so many of us out here that live with depression, neurodivergence, and anxiety on the daily. Thanks for the humor and joy!

  607. I have loved all of your books since I started reading them. I first found them while I was volunteering at my library. After I read the first one I was hooked. I can’t wait to get the new one and get to relate to your experiences in a whole new way. Thank you for being in the world and helping all of us see and feel that we are not alone.

  608. Late to the party (as usual) but stoked for another new book! Sounds like a reason to road trip to San Antonio in March! Please say you’ll hold a book signing at the store 😝 and post details ahead of time so I can play the trip to be there.

    Congratulations girl!

    (I totally will! ~ Jenny)

  609. Yayyyyyyyy! It’ll be grand, and thank you for all the hard work that went into creating your newest book!

  610. I am so looking forward to reading your new book!!!
You have helped me accept my struggles and appreciate the struggles I don’t have that others have to cope with everyday.
You help me understand myself with compassion while other books make me more discouraged and overwhelmed.

Thank you for Rory the racoon with an infinite supply of celebration and encouragement.

You are such a blessing and help so many replace fear with acceptance and love.

May your life be filled with rich love and satisfaction, knowing that you -one person – have made the world a better place outside and inside of our heads.

  611. I would LURVE a copy of your new book. I have all of your books with crazy inscriptions, which I love!!!

  612. I would love one I deserve on because I had a family reunion and I didn’t kill one but it was close when my brother gave me a maga hat instead of Jenny Lawson book iwanted

  613. Love this. And if I get picked, please let Dorothy Barker nibble on the edges and jot down a megalodon did it.

  614. I’m so excited for a your new book to memorize! Thank you so much for your books. I think I have curled in a ball listening to them so much they are memorized. I have GAD that can spiral into depression and Lupus/ Sjogren’s. I cannot express how grateful I am to listen to someone who truly gets bones aching, being stuck, and Mother-puppy depression. You made me howl in laughter even as my body and brain tried to rip itself apart. I don’t know if you will ever have time to read this, but just thank you, Jenny. Thanks so much. Happy Birthday and Happy New Year.

  615. So excited! I already pre-ordered. But, I would still love an advance copy.

  616. Omg I am so excited! The two things I can absolutely use this year are a new Jenny Lawson book and some new coping strategies.

  617. I would love to have this, for my daughter as well as myself. Hope I’m not too late…..catching up on blogs after the holiday madness!
Love that you have another one out there!

  618. I would love a signed copy! Just in case…I’ve already put a ‘Notify me” hold on the book at my library!

  619. I’m so happy that the reviewers are just as excited about this book as I am. I have all your other books and a little plastic Rory, the Furiously Happy Raccoon, and have already preordered your new book. But would I love an advance copy? Hellz yeah!
    Love you, Jenny! <3

  620. Sorry for posting again, the last comment came up as anonymous for some reason.
    Here it is:

  621. Do you realize how jealous my Husband would be if I won a book with your writing all the oops inside?! I truly hope you choose me and yes I will rub it in should I be so lucky! We have laughed so much over reading your first two books. You and Victor are hysterical! My Hubs traveled to the opening day of your book store (we live in SA) and he was too “nervous” to talk to you when you were handing him him his pre-ordered book. He’s crushed on you for forever and I admire you and think your wicked smart and I love your authenticity! 😊
