There’s nothing more boring than isolating with an illness when you don’t feel as sick anymore. Sitting on a bear head looking at the view sounds like a good solution to me.
The 10 second rule works for floor crackers as long as the peanut butter ones land peanut butter side up. If it’s the sticky side down, then it gets lint, pet hair and other yucky stuff attached to it. And it only works if the dogs or cats don’t get to it first.

Haunted floor crackers gadzooks! So funny.

I just finished re-reading all three books for what is at least the third or fourth time and was mourning the fact that there isn’t another Jenny Lawson book to start… and then you gave me and the world this gemstone of a blog post. Bless you for that, and speedy healing. Also, yay Victor for the extra effort on those crackers.

Hilarious. I’m sorry you’re sick, but that was fucking hilarious. And Victor confirming the singing: priceless.
Feel better!

I love that you and Lisa have text conversations like this one. It reminds me of the INSANE texts my brother and I have going back and forth.

Floor crackers! I love it! As a person who works within the food industry, people eat more floor food than they even know!

You’re a light in the darkness, Jenny. Never change!

Hi Jenny,
Can I re-subscribe and get *more* emails like this? 😘

So, my mother buys artificial Poinsettias and takes them to the cemetery for her parents at Christmas. In December, she bought the flowers but hadn’t taken them because my dad had been sick (he recently passed). Memorial Day was coming up and we also put flowers out then too. My brother had a dream where my Grandma handed him some Poinsettias and said “Give these to (my mother). I want carnations.”

I love peanut butter crackers! But then I also used to eat crackers with butter on them or cream cheese. So….maybe I love crackers? (they say you are what you eat, that confirms that I’m crackers!
🤣🤣
I hope you test negative soon and get to escape from your covid-cell (aka bedroom)
Lisa (not your Sister, but a different one)

Hahahaha! But also, balconies are usually accessible via doors not windows. Were you out on your roof maybe? I used to do that.
(It does have a door access but it’s outside the bedroom, so I can’t go through it without infecting the house…but the window overlooks the balcony so I just…made another door? ~ Jenny)

OMG, unhinged texts between sisters are the best. When our parents were declining, it got pretty ridiculous, our dark, dark humor. It kept us sane though! Thanks for keeping us sane even though you’re still sick!!!

I loved this SO much.

Aw your grannie is making sure you’re ok and is making sure you have your peanut butter crackers! 💕💕 That is so sweet that Victor made you those anyway-I’m sorry she probably terrified him a bit in the process though 😳😬😂 💕💕💕 Ghosts both loved ones and otherwise have a way of doing that!
We have a history of abilities on my mothers side, and my mother prayed that she would never develop those (in particular mediumship nor precognition) like other family members and for the most she hasn’t had experiences, except for one time.
One time my mother meditated for the first time ever, and my grandpa came through after he had recently passed, clear as day, as if he were still alive and pretty much shouted a message at her for my aunt-he meant well with the message, as he was super concerned about something terrible that was happening and wanted to help, but needless to say she never meditated again 😂.
Luckily I‘ve never had shouting messages 😂. He and I were very close in life-total buddies. Times have been hard lately so I’ve been drinking my coffee almost daily from a thrift mug I found that is an exact copy of the 1970s mug that he had-it says grandpa on it multiple times in a rainbow of colors.
I drink from it when I miss him, think of him, or wonder what he would do in my situation. Hope you get a negative test soon Jenny, and glad you’re getting support from your dearly departed sweet grannie!

Sending lots of health-vibes!! The image of you sitting on a huge bear head really shouldn’t have surprised me, I mean it’s you, lol.
We (my mom and I) were covid-free for so long, too… Then she caught it while in a short-term care facility. I still haven’t had it. Mom died from complications in December (to be fair it was kinda just the straw that broke the camels back or whatever, just kind of pushed all her other medical issues into overdrive).

A) did I understand that your grandma died from Covid? Which is awful B) I’m impressed you are observing the full routine of staying isolated C) What a lovely friendship you have with your sister and Victor! and finally D) you didn’t lose your sense of humour. Keep us posted about about your recovery.
(Unfortunately she did die of covid…it was before vaccines were invented. ~ Jenny)

Sorry Grannie died. Glad you are better. Won’t even ask why just a head of a bear was in your bedroom. Very classy pj’s though. Saltine or Ritz crackers? My grannie thought Ritz crackers were just for “fancy” but they were her favorite. But really, trust me on this, the neighbors are immune or else they would have left long ago. In fact, they may be tracking oddities ever since Beyoncé. Keep weird, Jenny. The world needs you.

Love the exchanges with Victor and Lisa. You are blessed to have those two in your wheelhouse. That was a lovely skyline too. I hope you get better soon.

Awww – that text thread with your sister gave me a laugh, and a tiny pity party that I’m an only child so I don’t get to text with someone who grew up in the same house with me and knows all its secrets. Hope you feel better soon. 🙂

Loved this! And definitely floor crackers.

I say 5 second rule with the floor crackers , you need the 5 seconds to get the most out the “immune booster” you about to consume.
P.S. I’m a new follower and I just adore you , I get you, and it makes me feel better when i listen to your books.
Thank you Jenny.

I feel so validated. Spent 25 years in my haunted house, and miss them. They still visit me in my dreams, thank God. Enjoy Granny. 🙂

No ghost appearances here, but I still have dreams in which my mom is telling me how to load the dishwasher the “proper” way, which is almost as good as granny floor crackers. 😹 Enjoy your bear chair. 💜

Somehow I was logged in with my son’s account. It’s me that loves you, not my son. Although, I’m sure he’d love you too!

This is an incredible update! It’s amazing how your dedication and curiosity have led to such a fascinating discovery. The fact that Laura Perea was a talented artist and writer is truly inspiring. I’m so excited to learn more about her life and work.
Your passion for sharing her story is admirable. Thank you for keeping us updated on your progress. I can’t wait to see the exhibit and learn more about Laura’s life and work.
The Mack Files: Digesting life in bite-sized pieces through the lens of clichés, quotes & “truisms”. Often irreverent, always honest.
Barking at the Moon: If your dog is your furry child, you will laugh out loud at Tracy Beckerman’s book about her family & a one-dog wrecking ball named Riley.
Wonder and Joy for the Wired and Tired: Feeling wired, tired, and stretched too thin? You’re not alone. Re-ignite your sense of childlike wonder, joy, and well-being with this enlightening and entertaining book by Dr. Pam Stephens Lehenbauer, well-being thought leader and author of the blog, Mother Nature’s Apprentice.
Stuff and Thangs from Xanaru: A mostly funny stuff about my quest for happiness through stories, art, friendship, Great Danes, one naked weirdo alien cat and indiscriminate swearing.
How the Hell Did I Not Know That?: Humorist Lucie Frost shares daily Instagram reels with learnings of the day—words, music, whatever–with plenty of laughs and all the curse words.
Beautiful Writers book: Writers! This coming-of-career memoir (w/ the BEST advice from celeb authors, real shit you haven’t heard) is life. A page-turning beach read doubling as how-to. #Magic
No Pithy Phrase: Between cancer, creatures, and the horde, there’s always something weird going on over here. The witchy writing freak flags are flying.
Butterfly Goo: The Down and Dirty Truth of Transformation Transformation isn’t pretty, but this hilarious memoir is filled with the mishaps, mistakes, misadventures, and mess of one heroine’s journey. Includes playground areas if you want to make changes in your own life.
Entertaining even when you don’t feel well!
