Did you know it’s December? Because it is. And I’m freaking out because where did this year go and what am I doing now that book tour is finally over? Answer: Feeling a little lost. Which is the perfect reason to do something awesome and also why we are going to do the 6TH ANNUAL JAMES GARFIELD MIRACLE.
What is the James Garfield Miracle? It’s a weird thing we’ve done here each year in an effort to get a ferociously jolly taxidermied boar’s head (named James Garfield) recognized as an actual saint. Every year I say it’ll probably be the last and every year the people who were helped the previous year email me to ask if they can be donors this year to give back what was given to them and then my heart grows eight sizes and doesn’t fit in any of my sweaters and I decide to do it again. This year is no exception so I’m blaming you for this, wonderful-people-who-remind-me-that-this-has-become-the-truest-way-get-my-cranky-ass-into-the-holiday-spirit.

So this is how we do it. If you want to help those who are struggling you can do it in a number of ways, but these are my favorite. You can donate online to Project Night Night, which is crazy easy. For $25 they provide a homeless child with a bag containing a blanket, book, and stuffed animal. It is awesome. Or you can donate to Heifer, who helps families around the world. Or you can come here and help anyone in the online community who is having a hard time getting toys for their kids for the holidays. It’s awesome to get help but honestly it’s even more awesome to help others, so if you need help with a few things for your kids please ask because we have all been there, y’all. Here’s how it works:
If you need help: Go to Amazon and create a new wish list. Name it whatever you want. Make it “public”. Go to “view details” and it’ll let you adjust list settings. This is where you have to add a shipping address for that list or else no one can send you anything. It’s also where you can add details on the ages, gender and number of kids need a special santa this year. Find the stuff you want and then add it to your wish list. Here’s my sample list so you can see what it looks like. Put a link to your wish list in the comments. No need to use your name or give any personal info but it’s helpful if you just share the ages of the kids. Make sure you pick stuff that is in stock and it helps if it’s listed as eligible for Prime because shipping is free for a lot of us on Prime stuff. Good examples of what to put on the list: arts & crafts, books, stuffed animals, warm coats, mittens. Bad stuff to put on the list: video cameras, live tigers, bags of lice. I have to approve the comments so if yours doesn’t show up for a bit that’s just because I’m probably busy eating or sleeping. It’ll show up eventually. (Also, if you aren’t in America please add that in your comment so that donors in your country can find you.)
If you want to help: Go to the comment section and click on a wish list. Buy stuff on the list. When it asks for the shipping address just choose the person’s name. It’ll go to that person. Easy as pie. (MAKE SURE YOU CHOOSE THE PERSONS ADDRESS OR IT MAY DEFAULT TO YOUR ADDRESS. If they don’t have an address it means they haven’t added one yet and need to go in and add it.) I have a few things built-in to make sure people aren’t gaming the system, but honestly people don’t really want to game the system over children’s scarves and hot wheels so it’s not much of a worry. It is the best present ever because it is literally a kindness to a stranger and for a lot of us it’s like going back in time and buying things for ourselves when we were poor kids or struggling parents. If you want to leave a comment for the person you bought for telling them what you sent and when it’ll be delivered that’s always lovely but not a requirement.
My mind is still mushy from 3 months of book tour so I’m probably missing something important here. Oh…hang on…I remembered…
Thank you.
Thank you for sharing with others. Thank you for allowing others to share with you. (The second one is the hardest so double thanks for that.) And thank you for all of your support this year. It’s because of your tremendous support this year (for my blog and book) that’s given me the opportunity to be a donor again this year, so even if you can’t help someone else this year know that if you stopped by the blog, or recommended Furiously Happy, or just left a kind word that helped me through a sometimes tough year you are a part of this small miracle. By the way, I don’t keep great tabs on this stuff and it’s done entirely without sponsors but in the past 5 years we’ve given over a quarter of a million dollars to help children around the world and that’s pretty damn incredible.
As a special thank you to you I just sent Project Night Night packages for 40 children, and donated a live llama and some bees in your honor. (The llama and bees are for struggling families through Heifer International, not for homeless kids. Live bees would be a terrible present for kids. I’m not sure why I’m having to clarify this.)
Comments will stay open until things slow down, or until we all run out of money. I’ve got several thousand dollars to give that comes directly from the support that you’ve given me this year so I’ll be helping out as long as the money lasts. I’ll also be randomly picking people to send signed audiobooks to because I just got a big box of them and I hate the sound of my voice, so if you get an email from me, that’s why. Forgive the typos. I’m still not totally recovered from travel.
Love.
UPDATED – DAY 2: It has been a very long and very amazing two days. I’ve seen hundreds of families so happy to be helped, and hundreds of others even happier to be able to help. I’ve gone to buy special requests and found that they were already bought by others who beat me to it. I’ve seen people hurting, and others reach out to remind them how important they are.
I cried a little from joy and also a little from darkness, and then I took a deep breath and said, “That was good.” And it was.
Comments will still be left open and there will be more people who need help and more who will offer. And it never stops, which is something that I find both wonderfully exhilarating and terribly draining and a little symbolic of everything that makes up the world. Thank you for reminding me of the kindness of people. Thank you for letting me see into the background of these small miracles, because the stories you read here are amazing, but the stories I see behind the scenes are even more moving. I don’t know how much was donated to Project Night Night or Heifer yet but I checked the purchases on the first page of comments (before my head got melty from too much math) and I counted $30,000 in donations from strangers to send small comforts to children around the world. I don’t have the energy to add up all the other pages still filled with people giving out help but I know that a lot of people were given the gift of a happy holiday and a lot of people were given the gift of buying presents for a family they got to adopt. And it was amazing.
And now I’ll slip quietly back into the shadows where I feel much more comfortable. Yay for comfort. Yay for miracles. Yay for the fact that all the Doctor Who Christmas specials are streaming on Hulu this week. We win, you guys. And that’s how we take back a little bit of the light. Thanks for letting me see it.
James Garfield for President, y’all.
UPDATED: DAY 3
Hello. It’s me. It’s the end of day 3 and this is the day when things start to get overwhelming. This is when the excited and relieved comments start to come in from people receiving the small things they asked for. It’s when strange little miracles happen. It’s also when things get confusing and you realize that, just as in life, some get more than others and some slip through the cracks. It’s when I finish up my own final purchases ($7k in tiny increments going to children around the world – which comes directly from your support of me through the year so it is a present from you technically). It’s when I tend to slip away a bit because it’s also when a few people will try to mess with the system, and it only takes one or two to make you disheartened in spite of the thousands of others that are helped. I’ve had a few people contact me with concerns that a person might not be trustworthy or that someone is exaggerating or even pretending to be two people to get more gifts, and that will happen. This is the world, after all, and none of us are perfect. But I remind myself of several things. 1) It would be a terrible thing to be so desperate as to take something that would have gone to a child on Christmas or Hanukkah, and if that person is so desperate then they need our care and pity, and forgiving them and helping them is a true act of holiday spirit and generosity. (And that they’ll probably get stabbed with a fork at some time because karma does that.) 2) That regardless of the honesty of the person asking for help, most of the requests are for children’s toys and children deserve to have presents even when the people who love them go about it in not-entirely honest ways. 3) That people giving are kind, but they are also smart, and mostly the gifts given are toys and children’s books and necessities of life that will help a family in need, because most people helping can tell by the list who legitimately needs a small helping hand to make a child smile.
As always, amazing things happened here and so many people were helped in lovely ways and they helped others with their stories. You all inspired me and I thank you so much for this.
I’m going to step out now and stop doing so many checks on people, so that means there is a giant “BUYER BEWARE” after this if you decide you want to look in the comments and help. It’s slowing down and most people have been helped and I’d probably close comments but I sort of like them open because it’s so nice to see people leave comments of happiness as packages arrive. If I were you and I just found this post and I was looking to help I’d stick with helping people who want a single small toy or children’s book, but it is totally up to you and I know there are a lot of amazing people who are in need of help and a lot of amazing people who specifically are looking to support people who remind them of people they’ve lost. And that’s lovely and the way it should be. Most people are wonderful and in need of help or in need of someone to help and that’s a very happy coincidence. Also, Project Night Night is a PERFECT way to help a child in desperate need and I cannot recommend it enough.
I think next year if we do this again maybe we’ll just stick with books? No one can say no to a good book and anyone who’d pretend to be two people to get more books for their kid is automatically forgiven in my mind because BOOKS. Remind me of that next year when December rolls around?
Love, love and more love.
PS. If you want to see what the person asking for help has already been sent you can just add this to the end of their wish list. /ref=cm_wl_rlist_go_v?reveal=purchased
PPS. Thank you. For everything. Going to pass out now.
UPDATED: DAY FOUR
And on the fourth day there was clarity. And rest. And possibly tuberculosis. Long story. But to make it short, happy comments from people receiving presents are coming in, and I’m getting sweet pictures of adorable smiling children who are already holding wrapped gifts (which I’m not sharing here because privacy is good thing) and it’s made me feel (for lack of a better term) furiously happy. This is winding to a close but remember that Project Night Night goes all year long helping children. Thank you for being awesome and thank you for the love you’ve shared with others. At last count over $60k was given to help children have a good holiday and I’m sure I’m underestimating that because I stopped counting halfway through after math gave me a headache. And now I’m off to get tested for TB. Again. Long story. I wish you all a merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah and Good Kwanzaa and Jolly Flying Spaghetti Monster Day or whatever else you might celebrate. High-five, you bad-asses.
UPDATED: DAY…what day is this?
Hey guys. Unfortunately a scammer has found us as of this morning. (I lied about not checking anymore. Sorry. I’m devious that way.). I’m not approving their list so it won’t be seen but now that they know how I found them they could avoid that little trap so right now I’m going to stop publishing any more lists. It’s about time to wrap it up anyway. You can still leave comments and thank yous and all that though. And thank you to everyone!
Also, if you have a fake list you should take down anything on your wish list right now. I don’t want to have to share your information and it’s shockingly easy for me to expose you and I’m sure it would be awfully embarrassing to be identified as someone who would lie for such a terrible reason. (Fake list = pretending to be more than one person, a list asking for help for made up people.) There were a few that were iffy before, and some that looked iffy but turned out totally legit, but this was the first that I could definitively prove was a lie so I’m shutting down all further lists as of now.
Sorry to be a downer, guys. Just want to keep this a safe place and I think we’ve mostly done that. Even with the problems that arose this was still worth it for the happy people who were helped.
Also, just as a final housekeeping thing, I’ve gotten a couple of “undeliverable” messages from Amazon because either the shipping address the person gave on their wish list was wrong or the person deleted their info. I can’t trace who the gifts were supposed to go to because Amazon just says “gifting address hidden for privacy”. If that happens then any money refunded to me will go to Project Night Night and any gifts forwarded to me (I’m not sure how Amazon handles that yet) will be given to Toys for Tots so that no matter what someone is helped.
Also, I’m getting some messages that are saying “Couldn’t leave your package as there was no safe place to leave it and will try again tomorrow” which is good in a way because I know last year several people never got their gifts because they had their packages stolen off porches but also not good because you may not know that your mail person is having problems delivering your package. In the past people have left notes to the mailman on the door telling him/her to leave packages in a more hidden location (behind bushes, etc) so that’s an option. Just wanted to let you all know because inevitably a few things don’t arrive, get lost, etc., and that’s just going to happen, but the more we can head off those issues the better. 🙂
UPDATED: DAY…where even am I?
I wasn’t going to update again but I need to because of the email this morning I got from the lovely people at Project Night Night:
“Hugs. Hugs. Hugs. Wanted to give you an update that we have received just over $20,500 since Monday which puts Night Night packages into the arms of 823 children. This is incredible and we are so grateful.”
Me too. I love y’all.
I was just wondering the status of the wish list. I am post number 1512 and also 1521 (duplicate). Thank you in advance for your generosity.

Ok sorry see them all now…. oops…
Guys,
I want to thank you SO much for fulfilling some of the items on my list. I am overwhelmed, 4 items are on their way!!! I’ve never once been part of something like this, so amazing – and I 100% plan to help out next year with someone else. In fact – this year I am going to start a small account to help out with someone else.
I had to go out for a bit just to clear my head, I’m so overwhelmed. I only learned about this whole thing after I bought Jenny’s book some time ago, and I’ve never had help before. This year we actually thought we were going to have to go to the Salvation Army. This time of year is supposed to be happy and I understand that, but for me it is always a time of sadness, and being alone. I didn’t even want to decorate. It’s hard with kids because you have to do this stuff, and sometimes I just don’t feel like I can. I’m going to do it this weekend. Really.
Today my daughter came home and went right to work on her homework – and I must say it is super hard to keep this secret from her, it’s so awesome. She has no idea. I’ve also been chatting on facebook to Erin, looks like we have more in common than I thought.
Thank you again to everyone.
Here is what is left of my list.

(Sent a few things. Glad to see you back. 🙂 ~ Jenny)
I think this will work??
It’s hard for me to ask, but these are the “nonessentials” that my children, who are absolutely the most wonderful people in the world, would cherish. It sucks to be a full-time working mom, with an advanced degree, and yet I still have to scrape by. I appreciate that this happens more than I can express. I always pay back, but in ways other than financial.
(I’ve edited the list to be shipped to my work since my neighborhood has had a rash of package thefts. 🙁 )

Hi to my Weird and Wonderful Jenny Community,
I had a great new friend donate some lovely books and some puzzles to my son that he will love, and I thank her so much for it. I’m going to try one more time for an item for Max (the little one) and myself.
I’m disabled… a whole slew of things. The worst Fibro, chronic migraine, intestine stuff they can’t figure out, etc. I can no longer work and we are fighting to get on SSD. My husband is a great provider, but my medical bills have piled up this year. Really piled up this year. We are living paycheck to paycheck. Enter in the depression and anxiety. And then more bills for that.
I can get off the couch/bed a few hours a day. Clean… maybe cook. That’s a good day. The past week I’ve been in bed with a migraine that won’t go away. I was a teacher. I spent years and years helping to raise your kids. I was phenomenal at it… seriously. I was an amazing teacher. Now I can hardly take care of my own kid. I waited years and years to have him. To find the right guy…
My illnesses have now taken away my ability to hold my little Max when he’s upset. No more, “pick me up Mama!”. I can sit on the floor and rock him, but even that hurt because my body has no support.
I’m asking for a bunch of gift cards… I want to buy a really comfortable rocking/gliding chair so I can still comfort my little guy. So I can get the most out of our cuddles as possible. He may be our only little one since I’m so sick (we had always planned on two). Any help for more cuddles and soft, gentle hugs would be so appreciated by this mama.
Thanks

I donated to Project Night Night $25. Merry Christmas! Now I will look through the comments to help.
Also wanted to thank everyone for putting up with me yesterday and not losing it on me. Thank you.
I am a depressive recluse and not good with the interpersonal communication stuff which is why I have never commented before although I read all the time. I live in a small rural town in the Western Cape of South Africa. One of the few people I see is my daily cleaning lady, Annatjie who cleans and does the washing and even gardening for me as I am not that mobile anymore. I would be lost without her. I am poor by the standards I grew up with but A is absolutely poor. I pay her peanuts, way below minimum wage, and food every day, but encourage her to take on better-paying gigs wherever she can find them but there is massive unemployment around here and she is farm-raised and illiterate. Recently her great-niece was arrested on drugs charges for the umpteenth time and left her two kids, Tanya, 7 (but very small because of Fetal Alcohol Syndrome) and a boy,3, wandering the streets looking for food. As their only known relative, Annatjie was given the kids by the police to foster which she was very willing to do. She is a very big-hearted person and is doing her best. I bought school clothes for Tanya but have no more cash to help the little boy. Is there any SAfican reading who could help these kids with maybe a gift voucher to Pep Stores or something to buy them some summer clothes.
I cannot express how grateful Annatjie and I would be.
Sorry this is so long-winded.
Apparently I am not good at this technology thing….
Hi. I think what you are doing is wonderful!
In October my wife of 15 years died of ovarian cancer. She left behind 5 kids. 3 girls, Amber 17, Mary 14, Shannon 7. And 2 boys Micheal 10, and Thomas 7. With all of the medical bills, that we are still paying off, we didn’t think there was anyway that we could afford Christmas. And then I found this. Because of there ages I let them pick out a couple of things that would put a smile on their faces.
Anything anyone can do to help would be absolutely amazing. Thank you for considering me in this.

@Helpful Elf
I am post #1900, requesting just a few small things for my 3 kids. Any help would be amazing but I am also very understanding that we are asking a lot of all these incredible mystery Santas.
In advance, thank you.

Mary @1976-ish: You should be getting a couple items from your list on December 18. 🙂
@Jenny I checked the list again and it says public. Can you check again?
Hey Diane,
I just wanted to say, totally cool. I’ve been there… I think many of us have. The best part for us is that you came back. It’s hard to do that- something that I’ve struggled with in the past, so I’m so glad that you did.
I wish I could have purchased something for your daughter this year. This best I can do is with you Holiday Blessings to you and yours and let you know that you are loved.
Anne
This is totally for me. I have 13 items on my wishlist. I hope this okay.. I take care of my family, have depression like nothing else. But hey life is good. So they say lol.
Just like to have a little for Christmas myself this year. My hubby works but it’s been years since he can get me anything. Not that I kind at times. Thank you

Have a happy holidays
I love that Amazon keeps telling me that deliveries have been made!!!
Helpful Elf, thanks for all you’ve done to make sure people don’t get overlooked. As far as other stocking stuffer ideas: We always got nuts and oranges, which I believe are traditional. We also got little self-care items (like toothbrushes and combs) or small clothing items (like mittens) that still seemed exciting and ‘gift-y’ just because they were in the stockings. I don’t remember much else–it’s been a long time!–but basically anything small–a deck of cards, maybe. Other things that come to mind: items that would be a pain to wrap anyway (magazines or comic books). Barrettes and ponytail holders for the girls. Snacks that are like ‘treats’ but are healthier than candy, like granola bars and fruit Newton cookies.
@helpful elf I posted my link however forgot my children 2 boys 4&15 and 2 daughters 4&16. I’m post #1519http://www.amazon.com/registry/wishlist/3BQ8K2K25AN82
@Helpful Elf – would you mind sharing my wish for me please? My original comment is #1777 and I don’t have a wish list but I was hoping to find someone in the Southwest Boston area to help me out with after school childcare for my autistic son. I moved here not too long ago and don’t really have a local support system and I just got a new job. This would be a huge help for me and my family since money is tight while we try to sell our old house. We have the gifts for Xmas but now we need to know that our son is okay while we’re at work. I can be reached at JessiLTorres118@gmail.com. Thanks in advance!
Thank you Anne, thank you to everyone. Someone said earlier that like, some thing is better than nothing or something like this. I had to sleep on this yesterday because it’s very difficult to do this. But it’s true, my kids deserve something. And when you need this help, you basically will do anything. I have a good feeling inside of me from this, not so alone feeling. Thank you. So thankful.
Hopefully Hoping @2011-ish: You should have 3 items from your list arriving on December 21. 🙂
@Helpful Elf – Will you please add my boys wish list.
Only 12 items left. I seem to keep getting lost in the comments.
The boys picked these items themselves, I told them a Christmas miracle was happening.
So they picked and made a wish to get them all.
Thank you all for all of this.
Next year we will pay it forward.

Has been the easiest last couple of months. And with a kid with a Christmas birthday too. Last year I got to send some from other peoples list.
It really just the first page.. I can’t figure out how to make a seperate list.. I use it to keep track of books I want to read.
Thanks
@Laura; The formatting on your list is all wonky for me. (I am tech challenged, so idk how to make it into a list I can see? )
@lorrie: I bought the adult version of Exploding Kittens for us! I am glad its going to be there in time!
Thank you Jed, honestly thank you, I can’t stop crying from this guys. This child is going to be shocked. She’s asking me why I’m crying and I just said I read something nice online. About those wrestling shoes, I realized I can’t seem to get those sent here at all. I looked all over amazon but none ship here. I will keep looking. I’m so so thankful. How can I tell you guys how amazing you all are? I actually can’t wait for next year to do this for someone else.
My sister is an amazing girl. I hope the gifts for “kids” are not limited to little ones – she’s 21. This year she skipped a semester of college & went to work full time so our mom could stop working and take care of our grandmother who had breast cancer. Our mom was able to cook, do her laundry, run her errands, take her to numerous doctor visits, surgery, and treatment while my sister worked to pay their household bills. This put my sister behind as she was hoping to enter the nursing program in January, but now she has to take an additional semester (or 2 depending on which classes are offered) to finish up her core courses. My mom & I have bought her a few small gifts for Christmas and she will be fine with that. But I really would love it if we could do a little something more for her since she’s given up 1/2 year of her life to help my mom.
So I hope I’m doing this right: https://amzn.com/w/16WLE224H5CR2
PS I’m a little freaked out b/c I’ve never been on this site lol
and I’m a guy so I feel sort of out of place. Please just
email me if necessary & I’ve set this up wrong. THANKS
Helpful Elf I love doing stockings! Here’s my idea list.
marbles. jewelry. mini playdoe. cars/plans. mini Lego figs. buttons. silly putty. confetti. bouncy balls. wind up toys. chap stick. gloves. nail polish/make up. flash drives. film. batteries. novelty pens. flashlights. squishy balls. hair accessories. stickers. art supplies. actin figures. gift cards. random Christmas silly things. Have fun!
Helpful elf. We never had stockings as a child but Since then I’ve tried to put together stuff for the kids in my family. You can use those tiny books as stuffers, lil hot wheel cars, key chain mini games (Simon, poker, ect.), mini figurines (favorite cartoon character), bubbles are always a crowd pleaser for the lil ones, stickers, temporary tattoos, littlest pets, crayons, mini coloring books/activity book. Sry I don’t know the age of the child you are stuffing for but hopefully this list helps.
Lisa (#1899) I sent a couple things. They should be there in 2 days.
Harper Elf —
I didn’t post the link earlier and I see you asked us to post so you could update the list once you get home. No one has bought off of my list — Maybe it was buried somewhere or lost.
Please add me to your list — Thank you!

Helpful Elf, the stocking stuffers we used to get were new toothbrushes, fingernail polish, body sprays, combs, brushes…pretty much the essentials but things we would hate to get as “gifts” like socks and underwear…lol. I was always grateful for them because I would forget to mention I had lost those items or needed new ones, you know because I was asking for the IMPORTANT things like toys, lol. Hope this helps.
@helpful elf stockings r great especially for smaller kids. We usually do crayons n mini coloring books, sometimes sum arts n craft stuff like pipe cleaners, glitter, paste & etc so we can make a new ornament for our tree 2 commemerate that christmas. The small childrens books r awesome 4 stockings 2, but bubbles r a MUST for small children if you are not into doing candy.

I don’t want to be greedy at all but just have one request if anyone is thinking about getting something else off my list. Of the 11 items on my list the one I would like the most is the car stereo for my 17 year old who just got his car this past summer after working to pay for it himself but the radio in it doesn’t work. The one I had on the list at first I just picked quickly because it was one of the first ones to pop up and it was $100 which I thought was cheap lol but I just did another search and found one with a cd player also for half the price and I even searched this time to make sure it would work for his car. I don’t even know what adaptors are needed but we can get those later.
He would be ever so grateful I promise you!!
The next one would be the Jawbone activity tracker — I googled and found one for half the price then they are in the stores.
Thank you again!!
I am not one to ask for help normally, but I am asking for help this time for my nieces. I’m worried that without the kindness of strangers, they won’t have anything under the tree. I put a couple things for each girl on the list so they will have something to open. Thank you very much. You are all truly Angels!
Hi. Check out this list: https://www.amazon.com/registry/wishlist/1XHRV87WPI384/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_ip_wl_o_ZNDCwbENF9K5F
Hi Erica 622, I’m not sure you have entered a shipping address?
I just noticed someone purchased a gift for Danielle. Thank thank you so much.
This is a amazing place to be. Thank you again!
Danielle
Helpful Elf, we usually put things like Chapstick, toothbrushes, combs/brushes, etc in stockings. How do they happen in your house? We open stockings while we have breakfast.
@Dawn I totally want that one too for me and hubby and possibly my teen;), we love CAH so! but I love that there’s a version I can include my 9 yr old in.<3
I want to thank everyone for buying the necessities for the kids. I know it seems silly to be excited about jackets, toothbrushes, socks and underwear….but I haven’t been able to buy them new ones in a long time. They get excited about anything new, and this Christmas is going to be amazing. Thank you- From the bottom of my heart. It made me cry- happy tears- I just didn’t expect anything. It takes a weight off. It feels good to smile. I suffer from anxiety and depression, and today is the happiest I’ve been in a long time. The anxiety started up full force as soon as I saw Christmas decorations, because I knew this year was going to be rough- and now it’s going to be so good. Thank you-Thank you-Thank you. I just can’t express how thrilled I am. I will pay it forward any chance I get. Thank you- again- because I can’t say it enough…….

Dawn Davis: Thank you so very much! Beautiful (much needed) ballerina pajamas arrived today. My little girl is going to be so happy. She’s two and a half and wakes up asking for Nutcracker music so she can dance around. I’m so grateful to you. Really. She just went through a growth spurt and her shoes and clothes don’t fit well. It’s so hard sometimes. To admit you need help. To ask for help. So much love to you!
So much love to Jenny and everyone here, too. I’m really in tears here just knowing people like you exist.

@ Dawn Moore. What does it look like to you? I am trying to fix it on my end but it looks normal to me. I’ve never done this before so I might have messed up on the list somewhere.
@ Julie Diers thank you so much☺ I feel like we have been blessed beyond measure because of people like you. I am so happy and grateful to all of you. I have never felt such an out pouring of the christmas spirit before and you are amazing. This has been a rough year for my son. You wouldnt believe some of the hurdles we have had to jump this year, but to see my sweet alexs face light up on christmas morning is going to make it all worth while thanks to you and people like you. Thank you soo much. God bless you & yours and Merry Christmas from our little family. 💖Lisa

I am so overwhelmed reading all the comments. For years, I was the one that was able to make Christmas happen for so many others and to be in a position to have to ask for help is more difficult than I could have ever imagined. I’ve been in my own dark cave for about 4 years, and for the first time in YEARS I have Christmas spirit again and it all came from YOU! Your love, generosity, compassion, joy, kindness warms my heart and has given me hope. I don’t remember the last time I had hope. I LOVE ALL OF YOU!!!! Thank you all. Thanks for asking for help. Thanks for offering a hand and a heart. Thank you for reminding me of the person I used to be. THANK YOU!!!!
Well sorry I messed that up lol. Getting too old for the s computer crap lol

Repost 😀 – is it okay if I add one thing for myself as well? Or is that not okay?
We are in the middle of a move, and money is paycheck to paycheck. We don’t qualify for federal assistance, but we can’t exactly get Christmas presents for our kids. It would be nice if you can help 🙂
Now, about my precious little girls- I have two. Claire is 15, and Sophie is 6 going on thirty. Claire is so smart- she is taking advanced classes, and working really hard in school. She has been so sweet about the move- she hasn’t complained or anything. I know it’s tough for her, leaving all of her friends behind, but she’s really been nice about it. She is into science, and painting her nails. She likes reading to her sister, and also loves purses.
Sophia is my sunshine. She struggles in school, but tries her best and always has a smile on her face (actually, scratch that- what 6 year old doesn’t pout once in a while?). She still believes in Santa, as far as I know. She loved being able to sit on his lap when the local fire department had their annual breakfast. She loves having her nails painted, chocolate, and art stuff. She also made it onto her dance troupe with a scholarship, and I couldn’t be prouder!
Thank you so much!

@DawnMoore @Jenny I think I fixed it
@helperelf i joined your blog and commented on the international press review, totally loved those products they are ALL cool looking and looked like you had fun reviewing that product. I am also sharing your blog on my FB page Krazy Mommies Uncensored, I have over 10,000 fans. So maybe youll get some blog love that way too.
Someone requested I update my list – I added a few more small things that would help us this year, but really anything at all is helpful. My daughter saw the coffee mug and thought it was so fun, my son loves reading about anything (especially history!) and my youngest could really use help with multiplication. Other items for the home would be wonderful, and dog food is always a necessity.
Above all, please know that I can’t express my gratitude enough to all of you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Helpful elf- could you add my list? I have a few things purchased for the little ones- but nothing for the older boys. It is hard to add clothes and shoes for them because they have to try them on. There are gift cards listed that they would like. My younger ones have things coming- and I can’t thank everyone enough from the bottom of my heart. I am absolutely grateful for everything, and for people even thinking of us. I also added Exploding kittens- and I’ll be honest, that is purely something I’d love to have for me. I don’t expect it, but I want to have it on there to remind myself to go back and look at it someday when things are better. This tribe is amazing. Thank you.

Reposting one more time. I am currently a foster mom to three wonderful siblings. Sandra is 15, James is 14, and Jenny is 13. Money is always tight but I try to stretch it as far as I can. I made a wish list for each of them with needed things along with a gift card or something wanted. Sandra is constantly in a book. James is a bit harder to buy for but he needs jeans. Sandra is the hippie flower child of the bunch who is more comfortable in flowing skirts than pants. Below are the links for each list. Thank you all in advance and Merry Christmas!

Trying this one more time. I’m Jennifer and I have been sick for over a month. Monthly bills and medical copays/medicine have wiped out any shot at Christmas. I made a small list for my daughter and included an electric blanket and comforter since we are having to be skimpy with the heating to keep the electric bill low. Thank you all so much for taking the time to reach out and help this season.

Crossing my fingers someone can help out!
Thank you so, so much to whoever purchased the gift card towards my stepchildren’s present. I looked but was unable to find out who it was. Honestly I am shocked, I did not expect it.
To update: a $50 gift card off the list has been purchased, and my family chipped in another $50. So I have $100 towards the gift. Therefore I ask that no one actually purchase the gift (the electric scooter, first on the list, I just kept it on there so you knew what I’m working towards), but instead I am asking for more giftcards to maybe, possibly, hopefully add up to the total amount.
I think I was comment 1475 earlier, or around there. In short, my stepchildren have had a rough life and have both asked for one thing to share this Christmas, though that one thing is expensive. The full, longer story is on their wishlist page.
Thank you so much to everyone and anyone who has spread a little holiday cheer this year.

@ Diane Langevin #1772: I have a new-in-the-package Crazy Cat Lady figure! Someone gave it to me as a gag gift (cuz I’m a crazy cat lady, yep), and I haven’t quite known what to do with it. Can I please send it to you? If you’re comfortable with emailing me your address, I’ll get it in the mail tomorrow. I’m at moncures @ gmail . com (I added spaces to fool the bots).
Diane, I don’t know if I would have had the strength to apologize to everyone. I have huge respect for you. My mom has brain damage from a car accident 40 years ago and I know how hard it is to just “be yourself” sometimes. If sending you my Crazy Cat Lady can make things brighter for you, I’m so happy to do so!

I want to say Thank you to all who blessed my Grandbabies for Christmas ! You have made this holiday bright for me ! I cannot wait to see their faces on Christmas morning !
I would like to ask if you would consider helping my neighbor. I ran into her today as we were picking the kids up from school. She was so sad and I asked her why because she is due in the next week (or earlier ) and I was afraid something was wrong. She is worried about Christmas for her little boy, Jayden. They missed the sign up for the Christmas Store and she doesnt have anything to go under his tree. And I told her I would post here to see if the tribe could help. She told me he likes Paw Patrol and arts and crafts. I made a list of paw Patrol stuff but just put in an “idea” for arts and crafts. I really have no idea what is appropriate for his age. Maybe crayons and coloring books ? I hope you are able to help her make Jaydens Christmas bright !
Thank you !

I thought I would elaborate a little bit in case anyone would like more information. My son (20) who is developmentally delayed and in the hospital for a cystic fibrosis exacerbation, had to get an NG tube today because he now has a blockage as well. My mom and I have been trying to figure out what to do for him and for his brother (who does not have a wish list, but a big heart) because we are both strapped for money for various reasons. There’s a good chance that Ricky will still be in the hospital for his birthday, which would really, really suck, so if anyone could see it in their hearts to send him a little cheer, we would be so grateful. If anyone needs it, I can provide verification of his hospitalization.
We are not as worried about my 9 year old receiving gifts, though I did post a link to her wish list as well. Her dad’s side of the family is much more able to help. But Ricky… I am more concerned about. He has been through a lot this year and it would be nice to make things happier for him, even if he has to be in the hospital.
Thank you all and happy holidays. 🙂
A dear friend/coworker just got laid off, and she has 3 kids: two teen boys, and a 3 year old little girl. I’m pretty sure she has all their Christmas shopping done already, but now with no income…well, I imagine they’ll be hurting for food/toiletries shortly. I made this huge list of stuff using Amazon’s Prime Pantry – but apparently you can’t turn that into a wishlist. 🙁 Does anyone have any suggestions on how I could go about setting up some sort of wishlist for her?
Oops, meant “for Christmas” not “for his birthday” in my post above. I’m a dork.
Hi JulieF (#2064) — A couple of coloring books and a set of crayons should be arriving for Jayden by the 21st. The 3-pack of Paw Patrol pups should arrive the 22nd. Merry Christmas to you and your neighbor!

Hi!
We have 2 kids, Dylan and Finn (who are 6 and almost 2).. My husband and I are still trying to catch up on everything from when my husband was really sick a month after Finn was born (He has crohn’s and spent 36 days in the hospital when finn was one month old. (In addition to the numerous other weekly stays as well). All in all, it was 6 surgeries in 13 months.) We wiped out our savings, sold everything of value we owned, sold our cars and bought cheaper cars and were able to not end up homeless during all that. Now we are trying to catch up on all the bills that are past due and the insane amount of medical bills we owe. This year was better than last year. Hopefully next year we can help others.

Hopefully this works, I just spoke with the kids moms and she is having serious anxiety of not being able to give the kids christmas. I am asking for help for a friend of my daughter now. Her name is Missy. Missy and her family are struggling right now after losing their mom early this year. They have a lot of medical debt from her mom’s hospital stay and they are down to one income. Missy’s mom was the one who had the main job in the family and her dad does seasonal work. He would usually be snowplowing now but we have no snow here yet. My daughter told me they have been having a hard time for a long while now and would not even be celebrating Christmas this year. I am coming to you guys to ask for help giving them a good Christmas and maybe some help with some household needs. I don’t think Missy’s father would ever come forward and ask for help, he is too prideful but if things just appeared at his doorstep with a note saying from the north pole, it would be a huge help that he couldn’t turn away. It is him and Missy and her sister Emma. Missy is 17 and Emma is 14.
I am working on the list for them. I put a bunch of household stuff on there because I know how badly that kinda stuff is needed for them and I am trying to add Christmas things. I mostly have gift cards on there right now since I don’t know the family all that well but Dee will help me find some more personal things to add when she gets home from school.
***I have updated the list with some more personal items and am working on it still. Thank you to whoever got Emma the pastels!

I really want to truly thank everyone for what you are doing here from the bottom of my heart and for helping my family and extending the kindness to my daughter’s friend’s family too. Jenny, her blog and all of you are a true miracle.
2 wish lists for 2 very smart, loving, caring, boys!
RyGuy and KelBell can be found under Amber Jade Copas W.U. Ohio. I was unsure how to make lists for minors without attaching an email. They are great kids that would actually appreciate anything extra! Thank you for this opportunity!
Thought I would send 1 more time – Jenny graciously got them each something but would love if they were gifted a couple more items under the tree. Love and peace and this group is so amazing I can’t even begin to tell you how wonderful it is to read thru all these posts and see that we can band together and shine light into the world.
Just reposting for my girls – twin 16 yr olds who are very understanding about lack of money but I really want a nice holiday for them as they just lost their grandma this summer and it will be a hard one for us all. Thanks
We thought this would be a year that we could get back on track after finally getting thousands of dollars of medical bills and credit card bills mostly paid off but January brought a slight stroke to my husband giving us more medical and is ending with me being laid off from a company I have been with for 24 years right at Christmas, with DH;s mom passing away in June and his uncle last week. I had saved some money for my girls (twin 16 yr olds) and while they had spent a bit of it on Black Friday (put away for Christmas) I ended up having to take the rest of the money back from them to pay bills and get gas for the cars so I would really love to have a few more gifts under the tree for them. I threw a list together of a few things they’d like. There are mostly gift cards on there because they are teens and often want to go to eat with friends or buy their own clothes and I just don’t have the extra cash to give them. They understand this and aren’t asking for more but I really would like to have a few more things under the tree. I had already bought for children at work’s Giving Tree before I was let go so it is weird to be on both ends – the giving and the asking all at the same time. Thanks in advance and Happy Holidays to you all.

A big thank you to the person that got my son the tool set! We were given a second hand tool bench for him….but it didn’t have any of the tools with it. He’s been using my hair brush as a hammer and plastic knifes as screw drivers. Now he will have proper toy tools to use and he can pretend fix everything his lil heart desires (not to mention I can brush my hair again lol) You have made one lil boy very happy this Christmas. Thanks again and Happy Holidays.
I don’t have any excess money, but I do have plenty of books of all genre’s. I can scrape together money for shipping if someone wants some Surprise! books with a Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, or random Happy incription in them from me. My email ImmortalGreeneATmsnDOTcom
I hesitate to post it because the children have been generously gifted, but I was informed that the link to the wishlist for my husband and mom (the best daddy and granny I could have ever dreamed of for my children!!) isnt working, so I am re-posting it, simply because someone messaged me that they couldn’t access it and apparently the picture of the kids playing in the giant papertowel and diaper box! so here that is again as well!. Just be sure to put other children’s list at the highest priority please and only after they are taken care of, if anyone wants to bring a little Christmas magic to an adult, I nominate these two wonderful, hardworking, selfless people! I know I am a few days into the party but I want to do this christmas wish for our neighbors, shes in the hospital
as she just had a baby. You all did magic for my family through my husband’s doing and for that I thank you and
I am hoping you can do a little more for this other young veteran family.
His name is Mitch and he is a Veteran of the Army. He and his wife Maegan just had a baby boy on 12/15.
He just got out of the military at the beginning of this year. He got a job once returning home and was laid off
from it two months ago.
Things have been very tight in their house. They also have a two
year old who is full of life. They need some major magic to make christmas special and less hectic with the baby
being new. Maegan could also use some things for post-pregnancy and Mitch some things for work.
If you wonderful Elves could make some
magic happen for them it would be wonderful because they really need it. Also you can view Maegan’s facebook here

I made an account today and added a wish list for my little boy, Rogan. We’ve been worried about his Christmas because his dad’s work hours dropped out at the worst possible time and we weren’t sure how we could manage him any kind of decent Christmas. He is four years old and he’s a sweet little boy who is so excited that Santa will be coming soon (we just wrote our first letter to Santa the day before yesterday!). Any help would be greatly appreciated. I accidentally made two lists. One is Rogan’s Wish List and has one item and then somehow made another list that I added items to. Sorry if this is a duplicate but I can’t see where and if I even managed to post the first time. I added a wish list for my little boy today. His name is Rogan and he is four. His father’s hours dropped out at work because of the holidays (inventory specialist) and we’ve been worried about how Christmas was going to work out this year. Rogan is a sweet boy and he is very excited about Christmas. He just wrote his first letter to Santa two days ago and every night he wants me to leave cookies and milk for Santa! Merry Christmas to all and Happy Holidays.
I accidentally made two lists somehow but here is a link to Rogan’s list. I forgot to add it last post. https://www.amazon.com/gp/registry/giftlist/TUOGST8W0D2M/ref=topnav_lists_2
Rogansmom, the link you gave is to a gift ideas list, which doesn’t have any address associated with it. You’ll need to move the items from the gift ideas to the wishlist. Cheers!
Shan M. Thank you that is a huge help!
Lists that still need help, a few of these don’t have/didn’t have that many items to start off with maybe we can help clear them out? UNDER each post number you will see who they are requesting for and under that you will see how many items were bought from that wishlist + how many are left. Some of the wishlists I check already had everything purchased off of them which I am sure is a Christmas Miracle for those families!!!!!!!!!

Jenny, thanks for disconnecting my email at post 1782 (16 Dec 8.42am – not sure what the best way to search for it is 🙂 – could you delete the post? I mostly don’t want that email & my username related for privacy. Thank you!
(And thank you, thank you, thank you for inspiring this wonderful gift for everybody involved.) And you can delete this too for admin 🙂

I woke up this morning and started crying when I seen our wishlists, they are almost bought out. I tried not asking for a lot because we are happy with anything we received, and the food help is more than I could have asked for you have really helped this struggling single mother. I want to post one last time and ask if anyone could help with my youngest sons Big Christmas list marked “High priority” on his wishlist it was $37 but dropped down to $15. My oldest also has a big wish item but I don’t think we will get that because it is a little pricey, my food list has 3 items left, my oldest has 4 items left and my youngest has 3 on his you have all left me stunned. thank you
My original post:
I am probably too late to request any help but I was told just to post anyways because there still might be a chance. My name is Misty and I am a mom to two boys, one who is 15 and the other is 5, we’ve been going through a pretty rough time I am a single mom and I only have one source of income, due to a decline in business my work has been cutting hours which has put a large dent into the holidays.
We’ve been living off of ramen noodles and I’ve been doing my best to cut corners where I can and cut coupons to help buy things like toilet paper and cereal. My car needs several parts replaced on it which will cost about $1,500 which is money I do not have and I can’t afford to buy or rent a new car. My boys have nothing under the Christmas tree and it has me extremely stressed out, I’ve spent the last several days crying and depressed my blood pressure is through the roof trying to get things figure out, that is when a Co-worker told me about this and said that I should post.
My oldest understands things are tight and doesn’t expect a Christmas this year but my five year old doesn’t understand it as much and still believes in Santa. Any help getting them a few gifts for food for our almost empty panty would be a blessing.

I just wanted thank whoever got my little Alex the lego snowman. It is very difficult to find toys that will truly engage autistic children, but so far we have had a lot of luck with legos with Alex. Maybe it is the patterns or the sorting. I don’t really know, we are still learning this stuff as we go along and grow with Alex. It can be trying at times and we are always afraid hes going to zone out into TV or get overstimulated and have a melt down, but with real toys and books like this at least we have a shot of bringing my little boy out of his shell a little more. Just whoever you are thank you. May God bless you & yours! Merry Christmas! -Lisa

@ Jennifer – It automatically adds it to the list no need for an extra updated. I posted the list again but I think since it is a new page the comment monster ate it so it may be a moment before it shows up.
Also to those who visited/followed or commented on my blog thank you it is a huge help to someone trying to boost their blog readers!
Helper Elf is my link for my daughter’s friend’s family on the list? It is this one –
Missy’s Family’s List- http://amzn.com/w/U5UUGV7SH21B One of the daughters had someone buy some pastels off the list so far.
@Jackie once the new list gets spit out by the comment monster your friends link should be on there 🙂
Thank you helpful elf you are a blessing. I’m trying to follow it from my moms I do not have internet thanks
Thank you very much. Missy is a good kid and they have been through a lot this year, more even than my family has been. If they don’t get helped from their own list I will pass on some of the things that were gifted to my family so things will work out either way.

Hey there! I actually heard about you from Reddit(:
To make a long story short, I don’t have any money): $0. I am currently participating in a sub in Reddit called Santa’s little helpers, which is where I heard about you(: i have received a few gifts, however, some family members still don’t have anything. I am trying to give my family presents, as this is the first year I am unable to afford anything, thanks to losing my job. I have a small list, which I tried to keep as cheap as possible, as I know others are more deserving(:
Anything helps! Thank you in advance and I hope everybody has a great holiday!

Pascal (Comment #665), Small World is on it’s way to you for your son! My husband and I have enjoyed that game, so I hope you and your son do as well!
Thank you so much!
https://amzn.com/w/1R3IL2AA0ZKU2
@Penni- Do you think you think you can get any other DVDs? We all love watching movies together for Christmas!! I understand if thats not possible… Or anyone- do you guys have unopened movies I could give as presents to my kids?
Hi. My name is Sammy, I’m a single mom of three kiddos, aged 17, 15, and 5 (almost 6). We are barely making it… our bills are paid, and we have food, but there is no extra money in our budget, and I receive very little help from my ex-husband. A friend of mine told me about this site, and quite frankly, I am hoping for a Christmas miracle. I would really appreciate any help you can give us. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

This year has been so hard. And the past few months, my daughter has been struggling with mental health stuff in ways I hoped she’d escape. We’ve been working with in and outpatient therapy for my 13 year old and my heart hurts because I keep thinking that it’s going to get easier but it’s not. My eight year old son is so sad because his sister is sad and I’m so sad that my mental health stuff has passed on down to my daughter. It feels unfair that this is now her journey. I have so much guilt. And I’ve been obviously unable to work as much or do the holiday things we normally do. 2015 has been so hard. But this community is amazing and beautiful. Thank you all for your light and warmth.
This is my son’s list http://amzn.com/w/RO0R3ROLUW9F

2 lists for 2 appreciative little boys. We (as a family) took a hit to the budget to be able to house my ill mother. She was homeless and we purchased a bit of land and a trailer next door. Now we have 5 years of loan payments to make (on top of our own expenses) while taking care of her. We all live off my husbands income and he is a wonderful man to provide for, and take care of my mother like he is!! The boys get to see grandma daily and understand that the $ is tight, but they are willing to sacrifice the toys to get to spend the night at grandmas house!! Thank you for anything and everything you can offer!
Jenny, I would love a paper copy of your book to keep my spirits lifted this season. After I finish it i will pass it along to my mom just like I did with your last book! Thank you!

Can someone please tell me if my link is working? I was having problems with it earlier.
I was on page #2 my request is below my girls only have 9 items left with some odds and ends they would like and one big wish or two, I want thank each and every one of you who help my daughters. This is a rough part of the year for us and you’ve helped bring the joy back into Christmas, my girls are going to be so Happy on Christmas morning and it is all thanks to the angels here. I don’t know what I would have done without you, everything that has happened in the last year has been such a hard climb towards getting up hill again it is amazing to know there are people out there to talk with about it and who truly do care. I took some of the advice you guys gave me here and spoke with the girls about our tradition of eating out at a restaurant during the week of Christmas. One wanted to go out and the other didn’t think she would be alright with going out and wanted to stay home, they both agreed we will do something special at home, we will get Chilli’s to go thank you to the two people who bought the gift cards for that, and we will be staying at home to watch a movie while we eat that way in case there is crying we won’t be out. Thank you all you’ve blessed us.
This was my post if someone doesn’t remember which poster I was:
I have two teenage girls my oldest is Izzy and she is 18, my youngest is Beth and she is 16. Last September my husband got into a car accident on his way home from work, he had major trama to his brain, had a number of broken bones and his face was so swollen you almost couldn’t tell who he was. He battled for a week in the hospital in coma but sadly didn’t make it, it was a extremely hard time for my family. I lost my best friend and my husband and my girls lost their father, their superhero. We were left with a big hospital bill, thankfully the insurance covered most of it and our savings covered the rest but we were left with nothing. My husband and I didn’t think about one of us leaving this earth so soon so we didn’t have any kind of life insurance or anything set up we figured we would be together until we were old and rocking together on our front porch. Before he passed I didn’t work often I took care of the kids and the house, after we had to move into a smaller house and I jumped around jobs a bit but now I am in a stable position but Christmas sadly isn’t look like it is going to happen again this year and I could use a little help please.
The girls have been having a hard time since he pasted and Christmas is especially hard on them because he is no longer here to celebrate our traditions like going out to a Restaurant Christmas week as a family (This year if we are able to do it the girls would like to do Chillis), Getting a new set of matching PJ’s to wear on Christmas. In the last year they have both gone in and out of being depressed and put on a little weight which made them more depressed it would be a huge wish of theirs to get a tread mill and a in place elliptical to use to work out right beside each other.
Izzy is fun loving, she loves video games, movies and doing brain puzzles. She used to enjoy hiking a lot but doesn’t get out as much anymore so I would love to cheer her up and help get her back into that.
Beth loves to read, do her makeup and doing crafts. When she isn’t on the sofa with a book in hand she is playing a video game with her sister, doing home work or chatting with friends. They are both wonderful girls.

Hi. . I would like to see if I could get some help to make ,my wonderful husband a Christmas this year?
https://amzn.com/w/X5UIU8OWFIOI
I saw some other people said they separated their lists, so I just did the same. J, L and G all have a few things, M has one, but it’s not coming until mid-January. I’ve also separated mine and my husband’s lists from the kids stuff.
Husband: https://amzn.com/w/169SN2G61ZHN4
M (17 boy): https://amzn.com/w/2JPQ95GBKXN7N
G (13 girl): https://amzn.com/w/3AFGOFSFX0VFJ
J (9 boy): https://amzn.com/w/2BV7I2X59Z91Q
L (8 girl): https://amzn.com/w/3L9VSSXPAUZ68
Myself: https://amzn.com/w/311OWD1LIETSY
Also- again, if there’s anyone in central pa that could use any help- I may have some gently used clothing or anything that I can share. You can email me at bcrossleyphoto at gmail dot com
I’m sorry, I don’t have the money to help….I don’t need anything either….I just wanted to say that this idea is the best thing I’ve seen since “Pay It Forward”…..May all find what they want…..Blessings to all…..Namaste’
I’ve made a list for my brother. He’s raising his daughter alone after his ex developed a habit and eventually left them. Unfortunately his livlihood has been affected also – they had a job as a couple in better times and as things went downhill she started stealing. This has prevented him from being able to finding work that pays decently since he was considered responsible as well. He works two part time jobs to support himself and his daughter, going without basic necessities himself. His wishlist is mostly the absolute basics – work pants to replace the ones with stapled seams, shoes to replace the ones that flap when he walks, a replacement for his frayed belt..He scraped to buy Mikayla a new winter coat for Christmas, but I made her a wishlist with some extras. She doesn’t ask for a lot but like any teen she likes lip gloss and perfume, she also loves poetry and wants to teach herself knitting. I also made a household list with a few treats, they’re having a nice holiday meal at my home (which unfortunately is all I can afford to do for them) but usually do without anything special. Anything to help make them a little more comfortable would be wonderful.

@Helpful Elf gosh the comments move so fast. Hard to keep track. I saw a post from you shortly ago that requested a resend of list links. Just wanted to repost mine for you. Thank you again, Merry Christmas.
Our stockings are always opened first and they are from Santa, I do put int he stuffed animals as previously stated but the children never know its from me. Oh I forgot one of the traditions from my childhood that I still carry on for my kids is the life saver books. 😉 and nowadays I get either a decorative tin or enormous size of their favorite candy. My oldest, 17 yr old son. loves andes candies so he usually gets a couple of boxes in his stocking. 😉

And then I totally leave out the info you asked for, ugh. Brain fried today.
I have 5 kiddos, 17(b), 15(b)[birthday Jan 3], 11(g), 9(b), 9(g),[twins]. I have a lot on the list so there will be variety for anyone interested in playing Santa 😉 Thank you for all your work and dedication. Merry Christmas.

My Niece called to tell me about this wonderful thing. She knows I have been struggling after two of my grandchildren came to live with me in August. They are twins, a boy and girl and I love them beyond measure. I am having trouble providing gifts for them. My friend has helped me make a list for them and I put on some pajamas and a couple of things I know they would like. Also two puzzles, we do these together and let me tell you their 9 year-old eyes are way sharper than mine.
When my niece told me what was happening here it made me think of all those Christmas movies where miracles happen and people are so loving and kind to each other. – Sarah

My name is Sammy, I am a single mom to three amazing kiddos aged 6, 15, and 17. I make enough to support us, but there is no extra money in our budget, and quite frankly, I was hoping for a Christmas miracle. My ex-husband does not help us. My friend told me about this site, and how you guys helped her, so I’m posting here as kind of my last hope. I would be incredibly grateful for any assistance you could give us. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

I posted one earlier that hasn’t loaded yet, you will be on the one after that Katherine.

@helpful elf can you tell if my link works? It wasn’t earlier. Thanks
(Your link works but you don’t have a shipping address attached to the wish list. ~ Jenny)
To Jeanette # 2071, thank you for your generosity towards my son and family. I am forever grateful. Hugs and tons of thanks to you!!! Merry Christmas!!
@ helpful elf… will u please add my children to your list? My latest post with the links is 2079. My youngest son,8, hasnt had any from his list purchased. Please, and thank you so much. MERRY CHRISTMAS
Toshalynn since the comment numbers change when the back logged comments get approved will you post your link here for me again? Thank you
Hello. You have been very generous to my children. Thank you, thank you, thank you, from the bottom of my heart. You were also very generous to my friend, Kelly Schaffer. You guys filled her whole list, it made her cry. Kelly has been there for me when no one else has, on many occasions. As her friend, I would like to thank you. I was hoping for one more Christmas miracle. Kelly’s family is really struggling. (You can see her original post on page one, #693, I believe.). She has three children with severe neurological disorders. Two of them are profoundly disabled. She is unable to work because they require 24 hour care. They are barely making it on her husband’s wages, and they struggle to pay their bills and feed their kids. Kelly has done so much for me (helping me with my own disabled child), I just want to give them a little break, lighten the load a little. I made a wish list for her family-mostly food, a few personal care items and cleaning supplies. Her shipping info is associated with this list (just make sure you pick Kelly and not Jenny!). If you wanted to give to a family that has a true need, this would be one. Thank you so much for the generosity already shown her, and the generosity shown me. You guys are the best.
Hi. Check out this list: https://www.amazon.com/registry/wishlist/1SI3DNOGKTMKA/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_ip_wl_o_EioCwbNW6CQB8
@Helpful Elf thank you so much. Also I would love to follow your blog. 😉 Can you post a link? 😉
Wow I forgot to add more info about my family! I feel like a dummy.. Anyway.. I’m hoping for gifts for my little sister(9), my nephew(7), my stepbrother(18 but he has mental/physical disabilities, or global developmental delay), my mom, my mom’s fiance, my dad, and my step mom.
I’m Hopeful Mama (comment # 1557) and I just wanted to say thank you SOO much to those who’ve helped out. I’m so stoked about getting a new little vacuum/dustbuster! The other requests are for my boys, but they’ll benefit from that present, too 😉
This morning was one of those times where I didn’t whether to laugh or cry… I was in the bathroom getting ready and my 18 mo old son had wandered off, which is not unusual, and then came running into the bathroom and spitting and carrying on. I had no idea what was the problem and then I saw his hand; he had cat poop in his hand! 🙁 Apparently our cat isn’t concerned about his behavior and decided to make the kitchen floor a new litterbox! My toddler sampled cat poop!! :/
My 7 year old is awesome; very smart, caring, super creative, full of compassion but he’s been having some major outbursts/tantrums/fits lately. It’s been hard on him, after almost 6 years, he’s got a baby brother and then 4 mos later his daddy moved out. For almost a year he’s kept all of his feelings inside and I think that’s why he has the outbursts like he does.
I took him to play therapy for the first time yesterday so he can learn what might be some better ways to express how he’s feeling and so I can react in a more effective way if he does have a meltdown. He loves to draw/color and the therapist discussed some ways that he could use drawing as a way to let out his feelings that he might not know we’re bothering him.
The art supplies for him are very, very appreciated! I put toddler-friendly art stuff on the list because my little guy always wants to do what his big brother is doing!
I am truly grateful for all that we’ve been given!!! If I could hope for one thing more, it would be the white noise maker! I know it’s a little expensive, so I put Amazon gift card requests on there.
The machine would be multipurpose: we could use it to block out noise when my little guy is trying to sleep or my big boy could use it when he goes to have some time to himself and draw. That’s just a “bonus wish”, though. We’ve already been shown more love than I could’ve hoped for…
I am so thankful for what we’ve received and those gifts are more than enough for our little family!! Thank you for your kindness and your big hearts!!!!!! I hope that everyone has a Merry Christmas! 🙂
My name is Julie and I’ve come here to add a list for my grandson, Jeffery. We call him Booder, or Boodie. He’s only four and we’ve had a pretty bad year. Boodie has been with us for the past year now and he’s the sweetest boy you’ll ever find.We could really use some help with his Christmas this year to make sure that he has one. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help. My list is at http://www.amazon.com/gp/registry/wishlist/2EIYKK3Y0LZLT/ref=cm_wl_list_o_1?
Posting one final time as after this I know things won’t arrive before Christmas and I’m sure there are many others who are just as in need as my lovely neighbor.
The only things on this list I’m really hoping to see for her are the shoes for her daughter and possibly the gift card so she can get herself the coat she so desperately needs.

I apologize if this posts twice- I don’t see the original.
I saw that some people were breaking their lists up by person, so I did the same. G, J, and L have each received a couple items, M has one ordered- but it won’t be here until mid-January. I’ve separated the kids into their own lists and us into ours. I’ve added some other smaller things M had on his list as well.

Also, if anyone else is in Central PA and in need, I may be able to help you out with gently used items.
I just made a list for my grandson, Jeffery. We call him Booder or Boodie. He is four years old and the sweetest boy you will ever meet. Booder has been living with us for the past year and its been a hard year. We could really use the help with his Christmas this year and we would appreciate it. Merry Christmas to all.

@Helpful Elf Yay!! I am following your blog now 😉
#185 here. Things started arriving today, and I am just in awe of your generosity. The kids are going to have an amazing Christmas now. You guys really did save our Christmas. Thank you so so so so much.
@Helpful Elf- how do you see what area someone is in? I’d like to see if there’s anyone in my area I can help somehow.
Thank you for considering me and my children!! You people are wonderful!!

Huge thank you to Jenny and all who help make this possible. I wish I had found this in years past when I was on the other side of the coin and could help. Hopefully next year. Was that Hughes guys Christmas would not have been possible this year. I plan to suggest this blog to several friends across the Internet who also may be able to help. I have already referred one here. Merry Christmas, and God bless!
@Mom to Kids and Cats a few of the registries showed me their city & state right on it but it doesn’t seem like most of the actual wishlists have that in the top corner like it used to. In order to see where someone is located without it popping up on its own is to add something from their wl to your cart and hit “check out” it will show the city and state.
Going through all these links it seems like the registry lists are set up a differently then an actual wishlist.
UPDATE:
All 4 of our children now have thermals on the way THANK YOU!! With the space heaters and warm sheets on the way our children will definitely be warmer. We’re so grateful for everything and I can’t put into words how much this all means to me.
If you want to read more about us check out comment #1769 and learn more about us + why I selected the other items on our wish list. I apologize for any typos and everything I’ve been in a lot of pain today. I was able to find cheaper thermals for my husband and myself so those have been added to the list. The last couple items on our list are for all of us as a family and will be wrapped with everything else to open up Christmas morning (minus the heaters we need to use as soon as they get here).
Thank you for everything.. thank you for helping me keep our family warm this winter. Thank you for your kind words, positivity, and this life changing experience. I have some health issue that have been really hard on myself and my family.. the last two days have given me a recharge of hope. Seeing so many people come together like this and helping others out.
I appreciate you taking the time to read this and possibly helping out with the last few items on our list.

@Helpful Elf…. I was hoping there was an easier way! :/ Hopefully anyone local will see my post.
Any South Africans out there? Amazon will not deliver to SA, so I am begging (on behalf of my cleaning lady) for Pep gift vouchers or similar. See comment 2009.

Last year you used your maiden name, Amy Bergeron, then switched to your married name, Amy Livingston. Your husband is Josh Livingston, who is obviously NOT a widower, but I won’t ruin Jenny’s gift to those in need by arguing with you.
If anyone would like to verify my statements, they are welcome to comment and I am more than happy to provide them with the proof.
To everyone else, please enjoy the love and generosity of Jenny’s tribe. Love conquers all. <3
I have a wishlist for my teenage son who still lives with me, he is doing well in school and is working hard to find a job so he can save up for a car. He helps with his sisters kids when they are over and he is very helpful when it comes to helping me care for his grandmother. He has had two things purchased for him, he has 10 items on his wishlist I don’t expect a bunch of be bought I was just hoping for another gift or two for him to unwrap he could use a new shirt or would love a game.
I had money put aside for Christmas but my daughter had an emergency situation, she was attacked by her fiancé who was growing more and more abusive so she grabbed what she could along with her kids and left. I used what I could along with her savings plus the help from a family friend to get her into her own place. We are now working on getting full custody of the kids and a restraining order put in place. Without all of you here her and her kids wouldn’t be getting a Christmas. My son was completely fine with their being no Christmas if it meant his big sister and his niece/nephew were safe but I would love to surprise him with gifts and show him the true meaning of Christmas. He had 11 Items on his wish list now he has 6! I am not asking for all of the things one or two would be appreciated.

@Mom to Kids and Cats What area are you located in? I can help keep an eye out for people in your area.
@Helpful Elf- I’m in Central PA- Harrisburg, Mechanicsburg, Lewisberry, Camp Hill, Carlisle, etc. Not near Philly or Pittsburgh.

Ihave been reading all day. I haven’t been able to get out of bed today due to depression, but you all are amazing. My kids have a few wishes Amy 13 loves hair nail stuff, all about looking pretty, Ryan 10 is a rough and tough Lego kid, my kids would love electronic stuff but right now we found out our heater isn’t fixable till we get lots of money. If anyone could grant my kids wishes or a heater or household stuff there some cleaning and food on our wishlist we would be grateful forever.
Thank you so much to those who have gifted my family and those that even are still gifting us! Please if you have anything left to give, give to my daughter’s friend’s family instead! Thank you!!! There are some Christmas gifts and also household items too on their list. They lost their mom this year and could really use any help they can get! Thank you!

Thanks to Heather A., my (short list) is half purchased. Helpful Elf, the next round up you do, could you add me? We are purchasing candy supplies for our 7 year old son so that he can have treats at Christmas. 3/4 items are inexpensive (around $7 Canadian), and the other would be an amazing treat – having cola flavour to add to fizzy water or candy would blow his mind. My littlest and my oldest are taken care of.
Thank you, again, everyone here. You are all amazing and I will buy so many bees in your honour once I can.

@Mom to Kids and Cats Darn 😛 Too bad you aren’t located closer to Philly the person up above “Larry Hall” shows they are located in Philly. I will keep looking for you and let you know if I find anything.
@smoncure – Thank you. I acted out, I have to take responsibility for it, that’s actually a big part for me, taking responsibility. I have to stay aware of my problem because I lose a lot of people in my life when I don’t. I didn’t always know I had this problem, I just thought I was crazier than most people. Getting a diagnosis has been such a help for me. Anyway, I will email you! Thank you!
Sorryy!! I’m just looking for two more, to even out the kids- we have received 4 so far, 3 for soph and 1 for claire.

How often can we repost?
@helpful elf did you redo the list? i am sorry for bothering you just was wondering. As my neighbors haven’t gotten any magic yet. Didnt know if going on the big list would help as they are in dire need of mostly baby stuff for their newborn.
This is my first year contributing and I’m so grateful that I can. This is beautiful, you guys.
Chris – You will be on there 🙂 I will post the list again in about 15-20 minutes so everyone has a chance to comment and chat and such.
How do I link my mailing address to my wishlist?
First I want to say I love what this means for so many families stuck this year!
My family has had an absolutely stressful year starting with the death of my father in February. We had to sell nearly everything to pay for the funeral costs. I had a major spinal surgery and ended up loosing my job. My wife home schools our nine year old son and this year she is looking for a job but she hasn’t had much luck in the area where we live. We have to leave our home in two weeks now and there just seems to be no end to the amount of things going wrong this year. Christmas is my wife’s favorite time of year and although she seems like she’s holding it together I know this breaks her heart to see our son not get at the least what he needs for winter and supplies for his homeschooling. It breaks my heart that I am unable to afford anything for her or my son on their favorite day! I put an amazon card on the list for my wife because she has done so much the last year taking care of me, my father before he passed away and our son.
Thankyou for this opportunity god bless

What are all of you guy’s favorite christmas songs?
I had already bought you the Fairy Pirate DVD and gotten my hands on The Descendants DVD (My post is #2088) when you posted that your kids were taken care of. Sorry about that. I need your personal address to send you the Descendants since I got that here at work for free. My email is penni.ellington@disney.com and I’ll get it in the mail by this Sat. I live in CA and you seem to be up north by 2 states, so it’ll get there in plenty of time.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/registry/wishlist/2ORJ8NFOU7GQK/ref=cm_wl_list_o_0? Thanks to those who were able to do something for my son. I wish there was a way that I could come back here and leave pictures of his reaction on Christmas. He just lights up the room. It’s hard to have faith in people sometimes, because they never seem to want to help so much as they want to use people for help. I’m still having trouble wrapping my mind around this, but I do know that I’ve rarely ever been so thankful in my life. You’re all wonderful people. Thank you so much.
@Leslie I am unsure what my favorite Christmas song is, I enjoy hearing all of them because they remind me of various things. Jingle Bells reminds me of when I was in grade school chorus and we would go sing at retirement homes during the Holidays, chestnuts roasting on an open fire reminds me of my grandmother, etc.
Helpful Elf – not sure if you saw my request to be added to your list. My original post was #1939 and I’m still hoping to get a couple of smaller things for my son.
Thanks,
James

@Helpfulelf I loveeeee Jingle Bells. Sophia actually sang it for her 3rd grade choir concert…. She was horrible!!! I love my kids, but they definitely inherited my singing skills… or lack thereof.
Thank you to all my Santas out there in Bloggessland! <3 <3 <3

I may be too late, but please help. I am a college student just wanting to take something to my Meemaw who is in a nursing home. I do work study but I don’t have much left over for gifts. She loves when I bring her lotion, her skin is just so dry from being in there all day.

I’m writing for my grandbabies, who knowing their mama and her sick sense of humor has already gotten them in here somewhere. They have spent the last few years being homeless with their mommy and daddy going from hotel room to hotel room until finally getting somewhere stable this winter. Kitty is 13 years old with Asperger syndrome and Scott is 9 years old with ODD. So it’s been a hard road for them all but they did it and managed to stay together. Through losing everything they owned when they lost their storage room to finding a kitten in a dumpster just a few weeks ago and nursing it back to health they have stayed strong.
I conned my daughter into giving me their amazon wishlist link, said I needed the name of the author of the horse book Kitty was going on about the other day. Anyway, here it is, I know they would be so grateful for anything off of it. The kids are kinda odd to shop for so there are gift cards on there too. http://www.amazon.com/gp/registry/wishlist/ref=nav_wishlist_btn
Many of these families are very close to haivng their lists bought out 100% many of them have less than 7 left

Goodness, gracious! Long day at work! Still amazing comments. Regina, THANK YOU SO MUCH! I’ll be on the look out and will get them straight to work.
Started getting boxes upon boxes today. I’m unwrapping, sorting and taking them to work tomorrow to be divided up into gift bags for all the remaining kids! (We have bunches). Of course I’m taking pictures!
@Empowlr, email me @ ladyerinia@gmail.com That’s my silly email; I’ll reply from my real email =)
Again, thank you to EVERYONE. I am humbled by your generosity!
I am amazed at the magic that is happening. I swallowed my pride and asked for help in giving my son a good Christmas as I have been out of work for quite a long time, have issues that make it hard to work, and am struggling to get by. I got home today to find a number of packages that had been delivered, and I know more are on the way. Some of these packages included a note from the person with a kind message. (Those notes are being saved!) I looked at the wish list I made a few minutes ago and was amazed and grateful to see that it is empty. There were a couple of things left on it, and those were purchased today. There are not even words that can express how thankful I am, and what a difference you all have made in our lives. This truly is a miracle, and there is no better group than this tribe of misfits.
In related news, I received a job offer today from an interview for a position I really wanted. I won’t be starting for about a month, but there is hope in the future that I can get back on my feet. And once I do, I am already planning to start saving up so I can repay all of the kindness and help others next year in the way that I have been helped.
Thank you all for restoring my faith in humanity.
@HelpfulElf am I on the list? If not can you add me too?
Thank you so much <3

https://www.amazon.com/gp/registry/wishlist/2EIYKK3Y0LZLT/ref=cm_wl_list_o_1? I don’t know if there is a way to tell who purchases the gifts, but thank you to whoever bought Jeffery the little hot wheel cars. He’s all boy and he loves his car, buses, tanks, and stuff like that. He’ll be as happy to see those cars as he would to see something that cost 10 times as much. Thanks again. Because of his situation before he moved in with us, he hasn’t had the chance to really make a lot of good Christmas memories so thank you very, very much.
Thank you Helpful Elf**… The boys didn’t as for much, they are older (11, 15, 17 ) and I assume that is why there have been little clicks on their wishlist.
I appreciate you sharing and getting the word out to help us. I made sure we didn’t ask for too much as there are a lot of people out here that need the help.
If we end up with just the four items, I will still be forever grateful.

I tried to add a gift card so we could have Christmas dinner, but I don’t think it took.
So – here is my story. Not ever a commenter before this. Always thought I would have lots of kids – instead am an “Office Lady” in Korea. It’s all good, but I would take a kid under the Christmas tree over my money! Has been amazing to gift people – thank you for asking and making it so easy!
I wanted to give a special shout out to Helpful Elf – you reminded me that there are more ways to give than w/ money – I would never have been able to do what you did. Thank you for making sure everyone gets something…. It’s been really helpful as I have sent friends and family here – they were clicking on empty lists and going away. Now I just tell them to go to the last page and go up to find your most recent post.
In honor of your efforts, I have cleared your list – post more if you need more. Merry Christmas and thank you!

@HelpfulElf Sorry to bother, but could you please add me to a list, too, when you get the chance? I would really appreciate it. Thank you very much.
Anonymous Sauntie you are an angel! Thank you for being part of the Christmas miracle and for helping Helper Elf, they have been working hard on that list all day! You guys are making me cry!

https://www.amazon.com/gp/registry/ref=cm_reg_rd-upd?ie=UTF8&id=1IAOIO0G41HSA&type=wishlist
Thank you SO much to the wonderful person who purchased a few things for my nieces! It is appreciated beyond belief, and I can’t wait to see their faces when they see two or so things each under the tree. You have made their Christmas!
Hi. Check out this list: https://www.amazon.com/registry/wishlist/1XHRV87WPI384/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_ip_wl_o_ZNDCwbENF9K5F
Thank you, Kara! He’s one in a million I tell ya. I think I was on Amazon at the same time you were, I switched out the crochet needles because the first set came up under a “Prime” search but then turned out not to be so hopefully that issue is fixed.
Jenny – this is the most awesome, amazing, glorious thing ever. Praise be to the James Garfield Miracle(s)!
(I’m feeling the urge to create an altar, complete with taxidermied boar’s head and santa hats to better celebrate the awesomeness that is JGM… but I’m not quite sure where I could find a boar’s head in my area. Or state. I’m also not quite sure how the cats will react to the aforementioned boar’s head. Actually, I know how ‘Nuki will react. She’ll think it’s the greatest thing since sliced cheese. But she’s… errmmm… unique.)
Don’t have much to spare this year, but me and mine are doing what we can! (Probably spent more than I should, but who can say no to books, table top games and video game plushies?!?? And this is even better because that love is being shared with someone else.)
Sending all of you <3 and hugs and hopes for better times.
For everyone helping make the holidays a little brighter – ya’ll are redeeming my opinion of humanity. Ya’ll rock, and I hope your holidays are just as awesome as you are.
@Helpful Elf…..I’m post 1284 and I changed the lists so each person has their own- the link on the post doesn’t work anymore. My oldest, M, had one thing purchased but it’s not coming until January sometime. The others have received at least one item. Here’s the correct links:
M (17 boy): http://amzn.com/w/2JPQ95GBKXN7N
G (13 girl): http://amzn.com/w/3AFGOFSFX0VFJ
J (9 boy): http://amzn.com/w/2BV7I2X59Z91Q

I am going through the wishlists and re-checking the count for everyone’s wishlists I found a few that were completely bought out! Which is amazing and I am so happy to be here to be able to see it happen.
@Anon – your comment was very touching and made me cry, I want to say a HUGE thank you to you and your family who is coming her to find people who could use help. I love helping people in any way I can so I am very please and excited that putting together this list is helping people find Santa’s for their homes. Thank you so much for buying the last few items I had on my list the kids will be very excited! There is nothing else I “need” but there are a few things I would love to have. I am going to go work on my list some more because it needs to be updated if you would like to reach me please email me at Burningmoonproducts AT yahoo.com You are amazing!
To everyone who just asked to be added to the list, once I get through double checking all the links currently on the list I will add yours, Do me a huge favor? If you posted but didn’t post your link could you please re-post it for me it will save me some time searching for it.
Thank you very much Jenny 🙂 I’ll leave the list up in case someone else might want to add an item for my sister. I really want her to have a few things for Christmas after what she’s done for our family. I’m amazed at what’s happened on this site.
http://amzn.com/w/16WLE224H5CR2
@Helpful Elf could you add mine? I’m only asking for giftcards, as the gift my stepkids want is expensive, but it’s the only thing they’ve asked for (to share). Thanks! I have $115 in total towards their present, which is $280.

@Helpful Elf The list I had for stocking stuffers and books for my kids has been filled!
Thank you to anyone who sent us books! We read every night! ! I have a feeling some of these Golden Books will be read over and over again!
If it is okay for me to repost my personal list?

Guys, I love making things for people. Half the time I can’t even wait for a holiday, I just send off a toy or pendant or figure with a big ol “Happy Tuesday!” or something. Like right now I’m working on a pair of twin kitties for a friend’s girls because she’s been so sweet to me.
If you are kind enough to send me some joy, please know it will be paid forward many times. I am in NO way a priority over those struggling, it would just be so cool to have even one thing to open for myself on Christmas. 🙂 Thank you!

When I originally posted, (Anonymous #62), I immediately felt guilty for doing so. I felt like I should be able to handle all of this and then some. I don’t have the heartwrenching stories so many of you do. We’ve actually be very blessed this year with some tremendously good things happening in our lives, along with some not so good things. Thankfully, the good has outweighed the bad… just not quite enough.
This effort, not just the gifts my children will receive, but the entire post, has completely restored my faith in humanity. So many of us still have a hopeful, grateful voice as we write all of the ugliness that has invaded. Things like this, Jenny, things that you do and write about help keep that darkness at bay. If nothing else, you give people like me hope and let us know we are not as alone as we may feel.
Thank you to Jenny and whoever else made purchases off my wish list. This was my first time participating in this. I am already excited for next year when I can purchase for others, because it WILL be better. For all of us because we have each other.
I know we are calling ourselves a tribe, but this also makes me think of my favorite movie quote:
“It’s what you do when you’re in a herd.”
~Manny, the wooly mammoth (Ice Age)
Thank you. I wish each and every one of you a Merry Christmas.
Coming across this today was perfect. I’ve followed The Bloggess for years, and I’ve avoided the James Garfield Miracle posts because I always felt terrible that I couldn’t contribute.
At home, we just went through our things to pick out gently used items we could donate to the incoming Syrian refugees, and talked with our kids about how even if we don’t have a lot of money, or a lot of things, we can give of ourselves in others ways, and we are lucky to be able to do that.
I’m seeing so many people giving of themselves in so many different ways, and I’m glad. If there is anything I can do from over here, just name it.
Helper Elf especially, if I can help you out, please contact me: awc [dot] yxe [at] gmail [dot] com
I may not have cash, but I have the internet, a computer, and time.
@Helpfulelf – are you sure you don’t want help? We can do it on a google doc and keep everything organized, and it will be less work for just you 🙂
@Helpful Elf, thank you!

Helpful Elf if it’s not too much trouble could you add two more lists? My five year old got everything she wanted and while my twelve and thirteen year old were gifted they both have one top item their hearts desire which I marked high priority. They’ll be thankful for anything but it can’t hurt to share once more, they didn’t ask for anything too out there. Merry Christmas!

Hello,
I just happened across this on my twitter feed, this is amazing. I have four kids who are amazing and know that they aren’t going to get a big Christmas from me since my husband hasn’t had work in 6 months. It’s been rough to say the least.
I have twins that are 14 (girls) one is size 7 shoe, womens 1-3 pants, and adult small shirt.. she LOVES jiu jitsu. The other is size womens xs shirt, shoe size 5, and pants 00 she loves reading and singing and running.
An 11 yr old girl, she is kids size 10/11, pants size 10, and shoe size 5, she loves jiu jitsu and acting and running.
And a 9 yr old boy, he is shirt and pant size 10, shoe size 2.5-3, he loves basketball and remotes controlled things, legos, and drums (anything with a beat really).

thanks.
(Sent art supplies for all four. ~ Jenny)
Larry Hall #2160 I hope the presents coming your way will help in a little way. Thank you for asking for help from Jenny’s tribe.
My half brother is staying with us through the holidays. My step father (his dad) passed away in october. Brett is 10 years old. He is super into video games, sports, and legos and is the hardest person ever to buy for. I am going to attempt to put together a wish list for him and surprise him and my mom with it (we are not in the place financially to do it, as having my mom and brett for christmas is already straining our finances) per my mom:
If it is clothes any dry fit shirts or nike shorts with pockets. He would like a nike or under armor golf shirt. Baseball hats he like oriols or White sox
Shorts a 14, shirts xl. He loves legos, but especially city or star wars.

Thank you to everyone who has purchased items for my son… he’s going to have a great Christmas!
I was hoping that someone might be able to help out with getting something for my mother. She is really struggling right now, and we have not been able to buy anything for her. I would hate for not to have anything on Christmas morning.
She has had a rough time, financially, for quite some time, due to my father’s extended illness and her own depression. After he passed away, about 4 years ago, she basically shut down for awhile. She’s a self-employed attorney and that meant that she had zero income. She went through all of her savings and is just in the past few months starting to pull herself back up. Unfortunately, she received a notice today that her house is going to be placed in the tax sale in February due to unpaid property taxes. I don’t have any money to help her and I can’t afford to buy her any presents, but I would love to see her happy on Christmas morning. I have created a list for her under my account and put several items from her own wishlist on to it. I put my address for the shipping so she can be surprised at anything that comes. If anyone can help out with this I would be so grateful.
Thanks and bless all the angels who have helped me today,
Rachel

Hello… I feel like I may be a little late to the party but here it goes. I am a divorced mother of two beautiful kids. I was a victim of domestic violence and sought refuge for my children and I. I have been working full time in order to get our lives back on track. We are living in transition currently but doing okay overall. My daughter Anna is 8 1/2 and my son Charles just turned 5. They are the lights of my life. I have not been able to buy them anything for Christmas so here I am, with my head held low, seeking some assistance. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for listening and for making this Christmas magical for those less fortunate. I plan to give back to those in need when I am able to. My friend referred me here after seeing Jenny’s post. I was reluctant but here I am. I love reading Jenny’s blog. It has gotten me through this tough year.
Thank you so much. Merry Christmas!

Hi, my name is Amanda and I feel weird asking for help, but I would really appreciate it if I could get some help making sure my 7 year old daughter Lela has a great Christmas. This year has been tough on us. I lost my job, and eventually lost my house and though things are starting to turn around between bills and rent I have pretty much nothing to spend on Christmas. I’ve spent many a night crying in my car trying to figure things out.
Here’s my wish list: https://www.amazon.com/gp/registry/ref=cm_reg_rd-upd?ie=UTF8&id=2HM7EDZFRG2FE&type=wishlist
She didn’t ask for much, but the things she did ask for I would like to somehow get for her.
Thank you for doing such a great thing. It’s really appreciated and one day I hope I get the chance to help someone else out!
Merry Christmas,
Amanda Mews
(Sent a mermaid doll. 🙂 ~ Jenny)

Jenny I think what you are doing is fantastic!!!!
In July of 2015, my 3 children lost their mom. She was a stay at home mom and did everything for there. I, there father, am lost with out her. She made all the plans, bought all the presents, organized everything that’s they do, and made sure they got to where they were suppose to go. She had Brest cancer. The Drs tried everything, but they could not save her.
When I asked then what they wanted for Christmas, they only asked for a couple of things. My daughter asked for an expensive pair or UGGS, but that’s the only thing she wanted. I told her that there was probably no way she was gonna get them, but she hoped and prayed that there were good people in this world that would get the for her.
I totally understand that she will probably not get this.
But anyone that could possibly help this year would be a lifesaver!!!!!
Thank you for everything and merry Christmas and happy new yer

@Helpful Elf: Fantastic work! Seriously, let us know if you need any help. 😀
@Mom to Kids and Cats: Good call separating the lists, when I was going over lists to gift from the shared lists gave me a headache and I just skipped them. For one it looks like a giant list of requests with no context and two, you can’t tell if all of the children have something when they’re lumped together. I think you’ll see a lot more results now with clearly labeled lists – good luck!
@Diane Langevin: So glad to see you gave the warm embrace of the tribe a second chance and now bask in it. 🙂 Welcome! <3
I had a hard time getting the correct information correct on here…. Here it is, done the right way
Apparently I am not good at this technology thing….
Thank you for considering me and my children!! You people are wonderful!!

@WhyYesThoseAreMyHooligans Thank you! I didn’t expect to be as accepted back as I was, I’m kind of used to the opposite as I am at times not tolerable. I’m so thankful to feel welcomed here. This has been so humbling for me. I can’t wait to be able to do this for someone else next year!!!!
@ HELPFUL ELF Can you add Jayden # 2068 to your list please ?
I’m headed to work soon & just wanted to post a list for my sister one more time (#2027 a few pages back explains how she skipped a semester of college this year to work full time & pay the household bills so our mom could be the caretaker for my grandmother who had breast cancer). Jenny was kind enough to send my sister a pair of slippers (very thankful) and I would still like to see if someone might be able to add another gift for her. She really wants the Bible that’s on the list. Thanks to everyone for making this possible. https://amzn.com/w/16WLE224H5CR2

Many of these families are very close to haivng their lists bought out 100% many of them have less than 7 left

Hello. It’s me. Day 3 and this is when things start to get confusing. This is when the comments from people receiving the small things they asked for start to come in. It’s when small miracles happen. It’s also when things get confusing and you realize that just as in life, some get more than others and some slip through the cracks. It’s when I finish up my final purchases ($6k in tiny increments going around the world – which comes from your support of me through the year so is a present from you technically). It’s when I tend to slip away a bit because it’s also when a few people will try to mess with the system, and it only takes one or two to make you disheartened in spite of the thousands of others that are helped. I’ve had a few people contact me with concerns that a person might not be worthy or that someone is exaggerating or even being two people, and that will happen. This is the world, after all, and none of us are perfect. But I remind myself of several things. 1) It would be a terrible thing to be so desperate as to take something that would have gone to a child on Christmas and if that person is so desperate then they need our care and pity, and forgiving them and helping them is a true act of holiday spirit and generosity. 2) That regardless of the honesty of the person asking for help, almost all of the requests are for children and children deserve to have presents even when the people who love them go about it in not-entirely honest ways. 3) That people giving are kind, but they are also smart, and mostly the gifts given are toys and children’s books and necessities of life that will help a family in need, and the vast majority are honest and wonderful people who could use a hand. And 4) that it’s easy to side-eye someone who has been given hundreds of dollars in gifts and is still asking for more even though others aren’t getting as much, but perhaps that means that when they pay it forward one day they will do so with the same enormous enthusiasm that they received.
As always, amazing things happened here and so many people were helped in lovely ways and they helped others with their stories. You all inspired me and I thank you so much for this.
I’m going to step out now and stop doing so many checks on people so that means there is a giant “BUYER BEWARE” after this. If I were you and I was looking to help I’d stick with helping people who want a single small toy or children’s book but it is totally up to you and I know there are a lot of amazing people who are in need of help and a lot of amazing people who specifically are looking to support people who remind them of people they’ve lost. And that’s lovely and the way it should be. Most people are wonderful and in need of help or in need of someone to help and that’s a very happy coincidence.
I think next year if we do this again we’ll just stick with books. No one can say no to a good book and anyone who’d pretend to be two people to get more books is automatically forgiven in my mind because BOOKS. Remind me of that next year when December rolls around?
Love, love and more love.
And now to buy the one present my own daughter asked me for…makeup. (Which i initially balked at until she explained that it’s stage make-up that she wants to learn how to apply for drama classes. I’ll accept it.)
PS. If you want to see what the person asking for help has already been sent you can just add this to the end of their wish list. /ref=cm_wl_rlist_go_v?reveal=purchased
PPS. If you’re coming and you still need help make sure you have a shipping address associated with the wish list. So important.
I know ive posted an ad askin for help on my 2 baby girls but if i may ask if anyone could help my neighbors his wife just had a newborn baby boy and they have a teenage daughter they could really use some help so i made a list of the things they said they needed and what their daughter had asked for so please if anyone could help us thanks in advance! Anything would be amazing and so very appreciated. Hoping to be able to pay all of this forward someday and grateful just to see everyone who is so kind and selfless helping out.
(Stuffed Mario on the way! ~ Jenny)
I am scanning this page whenever I can, to see if I can find anything I can do. In the meantime, surprises have started arriving and I am just….overwhelmed. Seriously. I’m giving up on trying to find better words for it, and I was an English major. You (various) have no idea of the difference you’re making. Or perhaps you do. Either way, my gratitude is…. [insert incoherent blathering here]. There are only three things left on the wish list, and that is AFTER someone asked me to add more choices for things we really, really want/need. Assuming Amazon isn’t just messing with me, that’s….[more incoherence]. Oh. My. God. Whether or not James Garfield is ever recognized as a saint, you’re all angels.
Nicole @ #48, I have 2 boys (ages 10 & 11) who sound a lot like yours. You’ll be receiving a package on Friday with 2 items from your wish list. I hope you have a very Merry Christmas. God bless you your boys, and God bless Jenny for this amazing tribe!! I’m proud to be one of you.
Jenny,
Thank you for everything that you do here, you’ve made a huge difference in many people’s lives here on your post. It was amazing to see and amazing to be a part of, I hope you and your family have a wonderful Holiday season, Merry Christmas to all of you.
@Jenny, thank you so very much for the books and games. My kiddos are going to be so thrilled with what Santa brings them this year. Reading is essential and games are always something we love to share, especially learning games. Mama likes those best. Merry Christmas to you and all your wonderful followers. <3
Thanks Jenny and Merry Christmas!
Helpfulelf- I am the first wl on your list, and I think I have only been purchased 4 items, not 5…
T Osterhouse of #789 – I donated to the rescue refuge directly and had issues with their form and inadvertently donated FOUR times, it was a good cause so I haven’t worried about it too much. Good luck with getting your dog, I hope it works out for you.
Julie F #2068 – A couple of books and a toy should arrive for Jayden on Monday. You’re a great friend – Merry Christmas to your family!
Jenny,
Thank you for everything that you have done for so many people. The work that you do to bring awareness to mental illness has meant a lot to me over the years. I am a regular reader of your blog, but normally a lurker and seeing someone so successful struggle with some of the same issues that my family has experienced has been so helpful. I hesitate to say uplifting, because mental illness is not that, but knowing that there is a light in the darkness is an amazing thing.
Thank you,
Rachel
Hmm I would have sworn I seen another on there when I checked last. I will update it the next time I post the list, I think the comments may start to slow down now though especially since it is only nine days until Christmas. I will keep checking here though and if comments still keep exploding I will still post the list from time to time with updates.
I hope that the list was able to help many of you, there were so many of you I wish I could have helped myself you all filled my heart with many emotions.
Does anyone know if there is a facebook or anything one can join to keep up with some of the users here?
https://amzn.com/w/1B8KT4INL6CYF
I have made this list for my sister who is a wonderful single mother to four children. Life has just knocked her down so much I wanted to take a chance to show her how much she is loved, even by strangers.
Josh Zeigler #2027/2238 the Bible and the blanket are on their way. The Bible should arrive Saturday the 19th. I don’t have an exact delivery date for the blanket yet, but I’m hopeful that it will get there before Christmas. I want to tell you that I think you and your sister are both amazing. Your sister putting her plans on hold to help out financially is truly a gift from the heart. And you are amazing for doing this to help her get some things that she wants. Merry Christmas to your family. Prayers for your grandmother to make a full recovery.
Jenny, thank you so, so much for everything you have done. Because of you and the wonderful people here, my kids and nieces are going to have a great Christmas. Even though we unexpectedly needed the help this year, I’m hoping and planning to be on the other side of this next year. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart!
Hi. Check out this list: https://www.amazon.com/registry/wishlist/1XHRV87WPI384/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_ip_wl_o_ZNDCwbENF9K5F
I wish we could “like” comments. Jenny, I know you’ve purchased a few things for my kids and I thank you SO much. I’m not in a position to buy right now, but would love to help locals however I can. I also hope to scan through the lists (if they’re still available to view) after the holidays and see if there’s anyone I can help then- i know several people put down necessities, not just wants. The love and generosity of the tribe brings tears to my eyes with every post I read. Rock on James Garfield, rock on.
@Helpful Elf I’m sorry to be a pain in your butt haha but I’m #2118 on your list(: you forgot my link: http://amzn.com/w/AAZROUE4GP97 thank you for your work(: you’re doing an awesome job!!
#1141 Leslie O’Donnell, this is Kris, whose son loves mythology and Magic. If Jenny is able, and I know it is a lot to ask, she is given permission to share my email with you. My son actually got disappointed he was going to outdoor school this week because they were focusing on Greek mythology for those who couldn’t go, but on the other hand, he sold enough cookie dough to pay for the trip, so he went. It’s all he talks about. He’s read almost every book by Rick Riordan. And the new one showed up today, thanks to someone here.
Helpful Elf. Thank you so much for posting our list and keeping an eye on those who didn’t have much purchased off their lists. I am in awe of what is coming in for my kids. Honestly, every box that came in today felt like Christmas for me, knowing they would get to open the presents on Christmas Day, and its everything they want and have mentioned. They are my life, and their happiness is so important to me. I hate that my mental illness is hurting our family moneywise.
I saw the comment, but I don’t remember what comment number it was, but the wrapped mythology books. He is going to be over the moon for those. He’s mostly focused on Greek mythology, and I’m excited to branch him out into other cultures myths, like the Norse. Should be easy, like every boy, he loves Thor.
I haven’t gotten through all the comments yet, but I’m working through them, and if I missed anyone who commented about us, I’m sorry, but thank you!!
And to everyone else, thank you as well, and Merry Christmas, and I will make sure to pay it forward. I promise.
Hi Anne #2006, I have a very nice comfy glider chair that is gently used that you can have for free if someone can pick it up with a truck from my house and get it to you- it’s heavy, so shipping would be expensive. I live in Los Angeles, CA. You can email me at girltomom@gmail.com if interested. Xo Heidi Girltomom.com

@Helpful Elf
I was originally 2005, then 2213. I’m not seeing either on the list on your updates. Thank you!
I’ve requested six nonessentials for my two children, but I’m just grateful for whatever anyone can do. My son is 15 and daughter is 8, and they are such wonderful people. I wish I could do more, but literally 65 percent of my income goes for the rent. Isn’t that insane? But I stay where I do because of them. Everything is for them.
Thank you all, and thank you for sharing your stories.

Hello all,
I’m reposting this because my comment seems to have been eaten by the Internet. If it shows up twice, please forgive me.
I am hoping to get something for my mother. She has struggled for quite some time, due to my father’s extended illness and his death about four years ago. She was in a deep depression for a long time and as a self-employed attorney this meant that her income was zero while she was unable to work. She has gone through all of her savings at this point, but is finally getting back out there and taking on clients again. She has a small income, so things are starting to improve for her. The problem is what she let slide while she was so depressed. She just found out today that her house is being placed in the tax auction in February due to unpaid property taxes.
I don’t have any money to give her towards paying off her taxes and I can’t afford to buy her anything this year. I really want her to have a happy Christmas though. I have taken a few items off her wishlist and created a new list under my account, with my address for shipping. I did it this way rather than just sharing her list so that anything that comes will be a complete surprise to her. I wish I had the money to buy the items myself, but with no job it’s just not possible. If anyone out there could find it possible to help I would be forever grateful.
Thanks for everything you’ve already done.
Rachel

Hi! I’m so sorry, I am using someone else’s computer & internet and I’m having a hard time deciding if I’m doing this right? My name is Leah, I have 2 kids (6 & 9). After escaping an abusive relationship, we were homeless. We traveled across the country to come home to family and familiarity. I’m in college full time now, and trying to make a better life for all three of us. It’s slow going and especially difficult with depression and anxiety, but I’m giving it everything that I’ve got. I’m not going to lie…I could use some help with school supplies and warm winter items. I got a coat from Project Safe, and I wouldn’t dare complain, but the zipper is utterly broken (and it’s getting cold and windy). I did put a computer and my own phone on the list, but those are pipe dreams so please don’t think that I’m greedy. I was just dreaming of how much easier it would be to become a Physical Therapy Assistant with those items. 🙂 I also put car parts on the list, as our old lady, Lucille, is having issues. Even if nothing on my family’s list gets purchased, I want to say thank you to all of you beautiful people. You have given me hope for us all, and my heart swells just with the knowledge that you all exist. xo
ATTN: Barbara T from Tenn…thank you very much for the Bible & throw for my sister (from my post #2027). You are the one that’s amazing for doing that. The Bible was the only gift she asked for, the other items on the list are just things my mom came up with that she knew my sis would love to have. Our mom is cancer free !!!! after surgery & treatment. We are very blessed this Christmas. Thank you so much for your generosity.
Ooops!! I’m SO sorry, @Helpful Elf. A little more careful reading, and there I am. Sorry to take up your time.

Leah’s Family List….cuz I forgot to add it above. Duh, Leah. 😉
https://www.amazon.com/gp/registry/wishlist/2ORJ8NFOU7GQK/ref=cm_wl_list_o_0? To anyone who has gotten something for my little boy, Rogan, would it be possible for you to send me your name (even if it’s only your first name) and maybe the state that you live in? I think Rogan may still be a little too young to understand exactly whats going on but I would really like to write the information down and put it in his baby book or scrapbook so that I can show him someday and tell him all about it.
Kaloni : #2229ish- from one jiu jitsu lover to another, how’s your daughter fixed for gis (or is she a no gi girl?)
Thanks helpful elf, I did remove a few items, my younger two are easier than the older 2 for sure, how age differs however anything is appreciated thanks and God bless. Link: http://www.amazon.com/registry/wishlist/3BQ8K2K25AN82
Shan @ 2094. Re: Veteran’s family. You need a shipping address. There are things in the cart ready to come your way!
Thank you Jenny!!
Jenny- Thank you for all of this. It is a reminder to be grateful for anything received. I am so sorry that a buyer beware even needs to go up. I guess people will always try to abuse kindness. I believe in Karma, though…….
I’m thankful for what I have, and I am blown away that strangers are willing to help strangers. I am happy that due to the generous souls here, my kids will have new coats this year because it’s truly a need that I couldn’t provide right now. I also have a few other things to put under the tree. I cried very happy tears today. I didn’t expect anything at all, and I just put it out there because I didn’t know what else to do. It is hard for me to say I need help. The past few years have been difficult. We went from living comfortably to struggling month to month and it’s been a huge adjustment for us as well as the kids. I am fortunate that my kids understand that money is tight. They never complain about what they don’t have. I know that even if not one thing was purchased off of the gift list, they’d be fine with what little we are giving them because they have amazing hearts. I’m not going to lie to them and say we made it work, they will know that everything came from kind people who wanted to make their Christmas better.
To the donors, thank you, from the bottom of my heart. To those truly in need- I hope that things get better for you and your families in the coming year. My heart breaks reading some of the stories.
Thank you again, for helping my kids stay warm this year and putting a smile on my face. I cannot put into words how honored I am to be a part of this.
I first want to say a huge THANK YOU to Jenny! And a huge THANK YOU to Helper Elf.
As for anyone that would try to scam the system so to speak that is awful 🙁
Harper Elf — you have me on your list but it isn’t working properly it says. I clicked on it and I see it is because when I added my brother and his two girls which they have received some awesome gifts thank you all!
But there is another list there with theirs and it is just MY WISH LIST for my children which I posted first but no one has bought off of. If they can’t that is fine because I appreciate the gifts being sent to my brothers house a state over from me and for his two little girls.
BUT if anyone wants to look at my list just click the link and then go to the WISH LIST and not Josh, Cadence and Melody 🙂
Helper Elf can you please repost the link to your blog I can’t find the post now.
Good night all!

Leigh- bento box headed your niece’s way!
I came here simply to say how amazing it was, and hoping to help. Then I realized my stepchildren needed help, so I asked. ( http://amzn.com/w/2TMRVG8YONLJD ). Now I want to offer. I have many of my son’s old toys sitting in my basement. They are used, some more gently than others, but I am offering to donate them. Sadly I do not have money to ship them (maybe after Christmas I will), but I live in South Jersey if anyone is close by and would like some. I’ll be taking pictures of them on Friday. Anyone at all please feel free to email me at tempestadore @ gmail . com
Jessica 2118- you have two gifts coming!
@kaloni -awesome! I know they can almost break the bank even for those of us not struggling, so I wanted to make sure she had a good one. 🙂
Thank you so much to whomever bought my son the books. He has just started bringing me the few books he does own and climbing into my lap so I can read to him. He likes to clap when I get to the last page and say “the end” it’s too cute. I found the joy of reading at a young age too. The books you bought should encourage him to explore this love. We are going to sit down by the tree on Christmas Eve night and read a few Christmas books and stories to him as a family. Thank YOU for helping with this tradition.

Misty – Santa is sending stocking stuffers. They will be there Dec. 19th – keep an eye out for them so they don’t melt!
@ EMILY # 2254 Thank you from me (for Jayden post #2068) I cant wait to tell his mom tomorrow ! I hated seeing her so upset today. Jayden is such a sweet kid and his mom is a dear little thing !
I have had a couple of hard years. Approximately two years ago I lost the job I had for over 10 years. I was supporting myself and my kids. The kid’s father moved in with us to help support us. However, instead of supporting us he did meth. I ended up doing meth as well, but I quickly realized that was a bad decision. I asked my family to watch my children and I checked myself into rehab. I have been clean and sober for a year and a half. When I got out of rehab, we had lost our rental house. The kids and I moved in with a friend. We lived with her for six months.
An old flame lived a couple of states away, so we moved up by him. He lived in a small town. I found a job, registered the kids in school and we started to live life. My old flame and I became engaged, the kids thrived in school. The job was not a good fit, but my fiancé and I decided I should take the summer off with the kids and I could find a new job when school started. In May he was pulled over for a routine traffic stop. Since he was out on parole, his parole was revoked and he was sent back to jail to finish out his sentence. I had no job and I lost the new apartment.
I moved the kids and I to the major city in this state. We moved into a shelter. I registered them for school. I found a great job. I love the job and they are happy with me. I saved up money and at the beginning of this month I was able to move us into a nice apartment in w good neighborhood. My fiancé is getting out on work release in the next couple of weeks. Things are going well, and we are making progress. Unfortunately, back when I was high, I took out a title loan on my car in my old state. Last week they came a repossessed my car. I am working on finding a car replacement, but it means no Christmas for my two wonderful kids who have dealt with more than they should have had to.
Every last penny I have needs to go into getting a car so I can keep this roof over their heads. My ex is in prison and I am not getting child support. I hate to ask, but I would like my super smart 10 year old son and charming 7 year old daughter to have a good Christmas. I need to make sure they have a roof over their head, food in their bellies. This means I need to save every dollar to get a car so I can work. Could you please give my kids Christmas this year
Thank you so much and bless you for reading this. Thank you everyone who has given help to those who need it.

Erin – Ashlynn’s Monster High Doll is on its way – by Dec. 21st.
Thank you Jenny! Just saw your note on the bottom of my post! So much appreciation, this is an absolutely amazing gift. I’ve been struggling emotionally because I want my kids to have a great Christmas, then on the other hand Christmas isn’t supposed to be about just getting gifts. I want my kids to have the few things that they have asked for and not being able to financially do that has been difficult. I can’t thank you enough.
To #327 Tom W. +3: Cooking Mama 3 Nintendo DS game on its way, arriving 12/21. Planes movie arriving 12/19.
@Kaloni #2229ish- since she’s good for gis, I got her the hoodie. It might get there after Christmas but hopefully you can tell her what she’s getting and it’ll still be okay a couple days late. My family are notoriously late shoppers, so wrapping a printed picture of what the gift WILL be is a time honored tradition at my house.
For Jessica — 2261, 2118 — six items off your list are on the way. Hope this helps!

Missicat, i understand. We all understand. This is a tribe of broken, but healing people who have all suffered these dark thought, “black holes” (my favorite term for it). Everything just looks bleak right now, and depression LIES. It keeps lying, and it is oh so easy to believe it would make everything better if you just gave in. But you can’t. You are a wonderful, unique creation and have things yet to do in this life! Please, talk to someone. If not in person, then call 1 (800) 273-8255. They can help. (No affiliation, yada yada).
I want you to know, we are all at your side, giving you support, a soft place to rest, a shoulder to cry on, strength to get through the day. If I could, I would be right there, hugging you (if that is ok), if not, then just letting you lean on me. In the meantime, I am praying for you, and sending you my support and love.
I hope you keep reading these posts. Many people have said much the same. Take care of yourself, and know many people do care for you, no matter what..
Hi in would like to see if I could get a little more help for my neighbor and her two sounds. Kyle is 15 and Jerome is 6. They are great kids. She is a single parent struggling.

Thank you
A million times Thankyou
I hope that the tiny evils do not destroy the amazing you created. My wish for you is that you have some recuperation time and get to enjoy this holiday as much as I will.
You are amazing, and you remind me that even when it hurts to try because I am so tired I am crying, amazing things might happen if I can pull off the trying.
Not sure how much of this makes sense, big part of the reason I rarely comment is because my word writing aint so good. But I desperately wanted to reach out and thank you.
THANK YOU
THANK YOU
I have a few things to do around my house but I will come back and get the last few people who asked to me added to the list added before bed.
Helpful Elf would you be able to add my family to you list?
Thankyou so much!!

Last repost of the day- goodnight everyone!
for claire.

Thank you @impertinence! I will definitely let her know
@Helpful Elf I’ve updated my list a bit. Removed several things. I realize there was a lot of items in my list and there still is. With 5 kiddos I just wanted to try and get them each something. I tried to put several types of items I.e. books, games, learning toys, clothes etc in hopes that our wonderful Santa’s would have choices. Thank you for all your wonderful work. <3

@helpful elf….could you go ahead and add my sister’s list even though someone did buy the slippers and a Bible? (# 2027)She only asked for one thing – the Bible, but my mom helped me put a list together of a few other things she knew my sis would want. I would still love to see if one of
those items (hopefully that face cleaning thing) might be picked up by someone.I’m afraid that by morning it will be
lost in the shuffle pages back. Thanks for all you’ve done.

Helper Elf can you please add me to your list — I have been blessed already but would like to request that someone help me get the car stereo on my list for my 17 year old. He saved to buy this 2000 Alero on his own and would love to be able to give him a stereo for it. It is a cheaper one on Amazon but he would be so happy. I just can’t afford it.
It is the main thing on the list I would like if no one can fulfill the others I understand.
Goodnight —

Helper Elf please help me — only one thing has been bought for my family.
Wow, I just want to start off by saying that this is so amazing what you are all doing. I happened to be surfing the web and typed in “how do I get Christmas Help so late” and this site popped up. At first, I was thinking “yeah right”, but just seeing all this just brightened my whole night. I thought it was too late. I have been so stressed with just trying to make ends meet. I didnt have a clue as to how I was going to tell my children that I cant get them any presents this year. I have seriously been trying to avoid the “what I want for Christmas” talks. So, by reading these posts, I know that I am supposed to tell my story, and post a wishlist. I really hope that I do this the right way.
I am a Father of two children. I have an 8 year old son, and a 6 year old daughter. I have a wife, but she left about 7 months ago. I would love to say she only left me, but she left my kids also. I am a mechanic, I work 40+ hours a week, but with two young children who have to have a sitter after school, and clothes because they are constantly growing… its just getting difficult to make ends meet anymore. I have been so down lately with the way things are going. I try not to let my kids know how im feeling, but I know they see it. I would love to get them everything their hearts desire because I know they deserve it, im just not able to at this time. Any and all help fro you would be so appreciated. Thank you for taking time to read this.
Here is a link to the list… hopefully this is the right way

Helper Elf I didn’t realize that you still had my list in rotation! Thank you for looking out, Alex and Andrew got Nerf guns and darts after I asked to add them so now all three can go nuts and they have plenty. Btw, sorry anybody that was checking out our lists but I did not choose $30 body wash. The prices keep tripling on that once it’s on the list so I’ve changed it twice.

Thank you to everyone who sent something.
Also my co worker who is on bed rest trying to figure out how to prepare for baby while loosing 12weeks pay, put together a wish list which someone got two items off of. (Thank you Santa she cried for hours when I told her)

@ helpful elf checked out the blog, looks good love the Lego box, wish I could get that for my Lego loving son. If you could add my children’s list to your list I’d appreciate it. This is the first Christmas they’ve had in years, after their father took his own life a few months ago, I’ve worked two jobs, written at night for small blogs, graded papers all to keep a roof over their heads. I have trouble putting basics on the table, I know they are going to be so happy just to have a gift under the tree.
GOODNESS GRACIOUS THANK YOU! A few more things have come off my lists and I am so very grateful but please please if you are considering buying for me and my family, help out my daughter’s friend’s family instead. I made them a list that is almost untouched so far. Missy is a really good kid and her family has had a hellish year. Any help is so appreciated. Thank you all!

Helpful Elf,
Thanks for everything you’re doing to make sure no one gets forgotten.
I wanted to let you know that I followed your blog with the bloglovin app… not sure if that shows a new follower on your end. That Brick Swag subscription looks so cool. You’ve given me a savings goal for my son’s birthday in June! 🙂

Hopefully I am not double posting this :/ Having internet issues.

anything would be amazingly appriciated!
So in awe of the wonderful community here and so blessed to be a part of it. Hoping to help with this next year!
Jenny, I agree that we have to accept that maybe 1 or 2 will take advantage but personally I’d rather see somebody receive more than they deserve than a single child without a gift. I’d be delighted with a mountain of books on Christmas morning but my kids always groan “Awww! Not more books!” lol! They like to read on the sly though I’ve heard. 😉 As for me I avoid the lists with overly “optimistic” expectations. One dream item is fine but not a mountain of expensive electronics. I will splurge for a medium priced gift ($20-40) for a teen if possible though. Bigger kids do like bigger toys and it’s hard enough being a teenager. Wish I could do more but I love being a spectator Santa when funds dry up.
@Crystal hey(: on your wish list page, next to the drop down menu (which you can select to show purchased/in purchased, etc) there is a button that looks like an envelope..it says share. Click that and a window will pop up. In that window it should give you a link. Copy and paste that here so others can view your list(: also make sure you have an address attached to the list
Thank you so much Sue. It actually took me a min to compose myself to write this (very happy tears). My son is blessed with love and family and that’s all he really needs. It melts my heart to see such kind generous people helping strangers. This is a true Christmas Miracle for our family. Ive been dreading Christmas for a while, but now because of you and others like you that have helped my son, I feel excited like a kid again. I cannot wait to see the joy and smiles from my son on Christmas morning. You have made one little boy (and his mother) so happy! Bless you and Happy Holidays!

I’ve noticed that the Santas and Elves are much quieter than in previous years. It’s evident that you’re hard at work from all of the thank yous and Helpful Elf’s ever changing list so… THANK YOU
Jessica I have noticed that too. I don’t think a single person that bought off my list has posted about it. I hope they know how grateful I am and how loud I am yelling THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!

I wanted to thank you for the shoes as they will make AJ SO incredibly happy.
I put a pair of jeans and a hat/glove set on his wishlist, and I think that if he had those things he would just be thrilled to death 🙂 I am so grateful to you, Jenny, and to your readers. I couldn’t make it to see you in Seattle because I was too anxious to get on the ferry – I was just terrified and turned around and came home, but I want you to know I love you!!!
AJs list is here, thank you so much! https://www.amazon.com/gp/registry/giftlist/1SMPDZ8M2419M/ref=cm_go_nav_recip_gl?
Thank you @Jenny, and thank you for the info about dolls – I am new to them but able to make them well – I’ll be looking for more cheaper ones now. Because of the generosity from people on this site I may be able to get wheels see my son again too. Thank you to everyone and anyone that has helped me in this. It’s been a very tough year.
We weren’t chosen but I am so happy for those that were. Have a wonderful holiday. Best Wishes.
#2182 in tears right now!! Thank you to whoever just purchased that book for my son! I am so grateful to have the opportunity on here!! GOD BLESS YOU GUYS I hope everyone has an amazing holiday and TY TY I have something to wrap!!! I told my son this year we were going to have a rough time and he has been such a big boy about not having a tree or any presents! This site has given me a chance to surprise my family! So THANK YOU AND GOD BLESS ALL
Helpful elf, could you add my kids wish list as well please? 2313 post: https://www.amazon.com/gp/registry/wishlist/2BAXK4NWVSTMT/ref=topnav_lists_2#
@karen marks thanks andi have emailed you. I couldn’t figure out how to add an address if anyone can help me
BookMama…maybe your address wasn’t posted so items could be sent to you. Maybe check and then repost your wish list. Is it possible the items were higher priced…if so maybe add gift cards and people could purchase those towards done items.
Last post, I lost track of my original comment and it’s past my bedtime. A friend of mine that’s following this pointed out that my list might be confusing since I posted it but it says Joe. To be clear I created the account and wishlists but put his name as the account name and his shipping address. I hope that’s not throwing anybody off I just wanted it going directly to him and Mikayla. Thank you again to Kara and Happy Holidays. – Sue

The next list update will be up in about 20 mins.
Also if anyone happened to be gifted an extra copy of Jenny’s book I would love it!
Jessica @2230-ish said, “I’ve noticed that the Santas and Elves are much quieter than in previous years.”
I’m brand-new around here. omfg There’s not, like, an initiation ceremony or hazing, is there? Or a secret handshake? A theme song?
Anyway, I wasn’t sure whether it was obnoxious or not to “spam” the thread with shipment notifications, but I just wanted to let people know that they have packages on the way. (I’ve never worked with Amazon wish lists before. This is newfangled wizardry to me.) I wish I could help every single person who asks. 🙂
Happy season of many and various holidays to all!
— Heather (but not the awesomely named “Heather A.” @2247-ish)
Book mama…ask helpful elf to add it to the list as one is about to go up.
Bookmama there are still Santas around, you should post your list again!
Helpful elf…before the night ends I want to thank you as you individually have ensured many families Christmas will be so special. Without you the lists would have been buried. A huge thank you!!!!👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Hi, is there anyone from India who needs a gift? I think it’ll be easier for me to donate that way, since I live there.
Wondering how to link the wish list..
(Just post the link in the comments. ~ Jenny)
#1394 Hi. https://www.amazon.com/registry/wishlist/21YC25BR0IPX7/ref=cm_sw_r_other_an_wl_o_7GJCwbMKG9RFT
@Helpful Elf, I cleaned up the list and removed several items. Thank you for all your help. You are amazing.
Everyone has shown what the real meaning of Christmas is. <3
I actually just wanted to share a post I ran into a few minutes ago in the hopes that more people will have the chance to see it. Single father of two; an eight year old boy and, I believe he said, 6 year old little girl. He works full time but had no hopes of being able to manage Christmas this year and then he ran across this list. http://www.amazon.com/registry/wishlist/35KMVCN8VM9GN/ref=cm_sw_r_tw_ws_IpJCwb0DT4MZJ
I am making this list for my grandson, Jeffery. Jeffery has lived with me for the past year. We call him Booder. Booder is only four years old and with everything that has been going on with our family for the last year, there won’t be much for Booder’s Christmas, I’m afraid. His dad is in jail and his mother has left him with me. I don’t receive any kind of support for him and only ever have one time in the amount of $50. Booder isn’t picky. He likes just about anything and he is so excited for Christmas this year. He’s been asking about Santa for weeks.

Posting for a wonderful friend and her 2 boys who are struggling to g wet back on their feet. Things are looking up, but they have a ways to go.
Their list has items they both want and need. They don’t know I am posting. I just asked her to make a list. The most expensive thing on there is a vacuum. I guess one of the boys broke hers recently, so she added it. I’m sorry if this at violates any limits. Again, she doesn’t know I’m posting. She is just an awesome mom and friend. ♡
Thank you for considering their list.

Jennifer Whitehead….I think you Go to list setting , click it, then next page , you’ll see wish list …click details, then next page you click use address for shipping address
Heather A, nothing of the sort. Only the giftees get hazed. 😉 Yes it seems like last year there were many more comments from the santas to the people they had gifted. Maybe they’re just trying to be careful not to drown out requests so I wanted them to know they are noticed and appreciated even in silence. I do like reading the gifting updates if any santas are listening. 😉
Stephen…yes I think some comments are delayed in posting which throws off the comment number.
Helpful Elf THANK YOU SO MUCH for helping make it easier to click on wishlists!
My number was changed and is now #2181 TY TY TY

Jackie (#2325), I just sent 4 presents to Missy’s family: a litterbox (because no one with a cat should be without a litterbox!) and what I hope is one gift per child. I’m sorry I can’t afford to do more, but I’ve already overspent in the last few days. I just couldn’t bear to see them go entirely without.
Leslie
Is there anyone from India who needs a gift? I think it will be easier for me to make the payment that way, since I live there.
These ‘wishes’ are for my youngest 2 teenage children…
My 17 yr old boy is an amazing kid with an outgoing & humorous personality. He is a ‘big’ boy @ 6′ and 295lbs. My 13 yr old girl is a quiet, reserved child who has dealt with learning disabilities. I’ve been a single mother for most of their life and it’s always been a struggle, but i wouldn’t change it for the world because it’s made me a very strong woman & i know my children respect me more for doing it on my own. We’ve had more than our share of trauma, moves & losses than most couldnt endure yet it’s brought us closer as a family because strength is all we have.. With me being out of work for medical reasons, most times we barely get by……living off less than $750 a mth, definitely causes headaches. I’ve raised my kids to know the value of a dollar and that money really doesnt go far, so they’ve never really asked for anything. As a mom i’m grateful they’re thrifty, but it also tends to pull at heart-strings because you want to be able to give them something special every now & again for always having to go without and for respecting that mom really cant afford to do those things. My daughter just made honor-roll and my son got his permit, yet as much as i wanted to celebrate i just couldnt.. In hopes of making better changes, we are about to move 1400 miles on January 10th so basically there is no money to spare for xmas gifts. They really are deserving of a wish. God bless anyone willing to help!
Nutmeg3isme oh thank you and yes there is one for each girl there. I am so happy to be able to share this miracle with them! Merry Christmas!
Please don’t be sorry about not spending more. You are an angel for helping and this family doesn’t even know I am asking for them so anything at all will be so appreciated. Thank you again!
I am sorry if I missed anyone I am pretty tired at the moment.
Many of these families are very close to haivng their lists bought out 100% many of them have less than 7 left

Jenny, thank you so much for doing this. And thank you, Helpful Elf, too! You all are both amazing. I have been fortunate to be able to give and to witness all of the beauty of this event since the first year, and I look forward to it.
I am especially thankful to have been able to connect with Diane Langevin. After an initial rough start, I reached out to her on Facebook, and we’ve been messaging back and forth for the better part of the day. Being able to connect and to share with someone else is a true gift, so you’ve helped me this year, too. Thank you.
Ok, posting again as asked, http://amzn.com/w/2OMWLFZRLNKBY
Nothing I asked for has to be purchased there. Sweaters and coats can come from anywhere. If those are too expensive the girls love all make up, nail polish and hair accessories.
(Sent a blow dryer, socks and a scarf but not all will get there by xmas. ~ Jenny)
Helper elf…if it’s not too late could you please add book mama list. Thx!
This is my wish list sorry for any confusion.

Ok just saw the updated list…please let’s not forget Bookmamas list. I don’t know how to link it but it’s right above this post. Nothing has been purchased from her list yet.
I posted the list again with lots of new people added, I will update it again in the morning and check gift counts again as well.
Thank you to everyone who thanked me for putting together that list, It was wonderful being able to put it together to help everyone who may have been buried. Quite a few people had their whole lists bought and others had almost their whole list bought it was amazing to watch.
I also want to thank everyone who said they visited my blog and followed or commented it is a huge help of you to do that! If any awesome Santa’s are still hanging around can I ask one more small favor? Would someone mind picking up a copy of Jenny’s book for me? http://amzn.com/w/2JQEMT32JKZPK You are all amazing 🙂 I don’t know how long this post will go for but I will hang out here a bit tomorrow to help keep the list updated for everyone.
If you aren’t on the list and would like to be please post the following:

@Sara #2138 – the pajamas for both kids and a puzzle are on their way to you 🙂 Wishing you a very Merry Christmas!
erinmmdesign – I am so thankful to talk to you. As well to have someone that I can actually relate to and have a conversation and they GET it. I don’t even really post on facebook anymore because I find that I feel almost as awkward on it as I do in real life. I’ve found the older I get, the more out of place I feel – but talking to you has been really relieving – someone that gets it. Wow. When doctors tell you that you have a “serious” mental health issue, you start to really feel nuts. But then I talk to you and it’s like – you’re not making me feel nuts. I’m so thankful for you. Totally meant to talk to you for sure. Thank you for being you.
i can’t find my post and didnt see it on the list helpful elf posted

@ Santa for my Nieces (#1530-1sh):
A “Good Dad” story always touches my heart. I have sent Josh a pair of the jeans that you said he really needed, but they might be a teensy late. Silly Amazon.
It looked like your nieces have lots of things on the way from the other Santas here.
Merry Christmas to all of you!
(and thank you, Jenny!)
I just wanted to take a minute to say thank you. This is amazing. I hope I am in a better place by next year to help other people!! I have updated my list for my two girls. I deleted a lot of item. Most of the item are what my little girl has asked for and the other item are what my 4 month can use. If there is still people out there to help that would be great! Thank you so much for this!

Again, thank you so much for doing this wonderful pay it forward compassion in action! What a wonderful gift, and next year, I’ll have the joy of helping another family. I do it in day to day ways, already, but, Christmas offers a special opportunity to share the love of God, and, the ultimate Gift He gave us.

toshalynn87 (#2078): The book and the Knex Mario Kart should both arrive by the 20th for Jamie. Merry Christmas to you and your little ones!
Hi daddyjames…Just sent some things off to you and your kiddos! Looks like they will all be arriving on different days, though…keep an eye out on December 20, 21 and 24.
Hope you and your kids have some fun on Christmas. All the best to you.
@ Helpful Elf. You and everyone on here (and of course, Jenny) are amazing. My number is #2128 further up on this page. I didn’t write much on my comment originally because it feels weird telling my daughter’s story. It’s so complicated. And I’m struggling with my depression and anxiety and so much terrible guilt around her mental health stuff occurring as puberty rolls through. Single mom hood is a beast. It’s always one step forward, a good jog backwards and sometimes I feel so alone on this path. This community and this blog keep me going on days when I feel like there’s no one who gets it. When it feels too freaking hard to even go walk the three blocks to the grocery store. And it’s winter break and I feel like I should be breathing easier but as the holiday gets closer, my anxiety just weighs down heavier. Thank god for all of you. You make this better just by being part of this.

Also, the kids love cards and would just love to get mail if anyone was up for sending them holiday greetings. Is there a way to do this?

Hi. My name is Dorothy H. but everyone calls me Cissy and I found you because of my daughter. I am usually the one who is helping everyone else for Christmas. This year has just been really hard on us. I really was not looking to ask for help but now things are just too tight. I live with my husband, daughter and sister and have custody of an adorable 2 year old boy. Just recently I took in his mother, baby sister, uncle and grandmother. They have been having it really hard also. None of them have any income either. I also have a couple of other kids that stay with me during the holidays. Because of helping out this other family, what we had for Christmas has been spent taking care of all of the needs of the families.
Right now I am dealing with a lot of stress and have not even been able to get into the Christmas mood. My husband has a type of blood cancer and has been without medical insurance until early this month. My sister, daughter and I are all on medicines that costs us a lot each year. Making ends meet is not happening. I have no where to turn to to ask for help for Christmas.
We are making due with what we have but I know it is hard on everyone. The grandmother is sleeping on the floor so that everyone else can have a place to sleep. She is a bigger woman and has health issues herself. The new baby girl is tiny. She has no clothes that fit her. She has lots of bigger clothes but not preemie (the sleepers do not fit but pants, onsies, and shirts do). We are low (almost out of) on most household needs.
I would not change anything at all about this except to be able to not have to ask for help. I don’t know if anyone could or would be able to help us. Thank you all for being the blessing that you are to everyone.
I have created one Amazon list for the whole family. Lots of things will be shared. The ages of the kids are 2 boys that are 15, one boy is 2 yrs old, one boy is 3 yrs old, one girl is 9 and the baby girl is 2 weeks old. (Note: I tried to post earlier but I think my phone lost it).

I’ve been reading through the comments… this is so beautiful. It really gives me so much hope for our world to see this happening. Thank you for that. <3
I’m a student and my husband is currently working in the stockroom at Target while we wait for his EMT license to come through. He’s been working towards this for months and we thought he’d have his license and a job before the holidays, but it hasn’t happened. It’s going to be a tough Christmas season, but we’re hopeful that things will start looking up again in the new year. Our daughter is two years old, and loves books more than anything in the world. This is her wishlist. http://www.amazon.com/gp/registry/wishlist/1SE7GB78515GP/ref=cm_wl_list_o_1?
Even if her wishlist doesn’t come up in the huge volume of comments you have here, I still just want to thank you for doing this. For bringing people together in such a powerful and personal way.

Does it have the shipping address now
So many times tonight, I’ve had things in the cart, but there is no address for shipping. So, I delete and try someone else.
Please, please, go back and make sure you have your shipping address listed.
PJennifer W,… No not yet. Did you make your wish list address public? Go to list settings and then click wish list public. We can’t actually see your address though.
Jennifer…possibly you need to add a shipping address.
I have one son, 12 years old but still believes in Santa. Could use some help.
Thanks 🙂

Hi, I’d like to request help for a family of five. We’re having a hard time and I’m out of work so things are extra hard right now. I’d appreciate any help and would be extremely grateful. Here’s the link to our list:

Hi to “Irish,”
I’ve gotten each of your teens a couple of things (I have a teen, too!). Tried to pick things that would arrive in time for Christmas, so, hopefully they will all arrive Dec 20-24. All the best to you with your move…stay strong and take care.
Merry Christmas!
