hello

I’m currently writing this while standing in a vending machine store in Japan watching Hailey and Laurel get Hello Kitty capsules but I wanted to share this:

If it works it’s a link to the San Antonio express story about Laura. If it doesn’t it’s a sign that I can’t do things in Japan. Love!

  1. The link works, so you can do stuff in Japan! (Hello from Australia). Brilliant that you made the newspaper. I hope you can find out more about Laura.

  2. It works! But like everyone else says, you have to be a subscriber to read the article.
But at least your post/link worked from Japan!! Yay!!

  3. I read it no problem! Great article. Can’t wait to find out more.

  4. I read it, just had to turn off my ad blocker (it was worth it, but my gosh that site has a lot of ads).

  5. oh no. They’ve described you and your followers as amateur sleuths. From now on you have to run across bodies, and we help you solve the mystery. You’
    re now Jessica Fletcher.

  6. Have fun! Link worked, but i had 10 seconds to read the story before the paywall hit.

  7. I want to know more about what Hello Kitty Capsules are. Do you have to take them with food?

  8. You did it Jenny !👏🏻😉 I just love what you did for the memory of L. Perea. You’re a beautiful person too !

  9. You’re a gift. I love that you are doing all you can to give Laura a voice!

  10. Paywalls and signing in my email address so they can bombard me with junk emails is so not my thing.
But the post from you worked from Japan.
And one newspaper story is the first step to more media attention, which brings more attention to how we appreciate and care for people with mental health stories. We are so much more than our mental illness!
    Happy Visiting Japan!
I hope you find weird stuff to bring home.

  11. Damn paywalls! I read about 5 seconds in, and it looked fascinating!

  12. It worked, but I had to enter an email address to read it. Thank you for sharing Laura’s art with the world. I hope it does help with the stigma of mental illness. I have bipolar disorder and an anxiety disorder, so with you sharing her art I feel seen. You’re amazing!

  13. You are so incredibly brave, and YES you can do hard things in Japan, including actually go to Japan! Way to go!!!!!!

  14. It worked! So cool! Have fun in Japan! I hear it’s a wild place, vending machine stores and all. I’ve heard good things about the ramen-eating experience there. Might be worth checking out…

  15. Also, when I started reading this, I thought it ended at “standing in a vending machine” and I was like what, how?! Jenny, what have you gotten yourself into now?!

  16. Link Worked! SO glad you got published in the paper. How cool is that but we know you are COOL!
    Enjoy Japan.

  17. The website is WAY too aggressive. If any of you find a way to read this without giving away personal information, please post it here. Thanks!!

  18. When I first read this I thought it said “Currently stabbing a vending machine…”. I was like wait, wtf?!? 🤣🤣🤣

  19. @ Don G: Hi! Well, at least from here in Germany I do not have ANY problems reading this article in the S. A. Express News and I did not even have to change any settings of my system: Linux Mint, Firefox 126 with No Script, uBlock Origin, uMatrix, Decentraleyes, CanvasBlocker. Hope these hints do help.

@ Ms. Lawson: Holy f…! 🙂 As a regular reader of Your blog since probably at least 6 years I do want to be honest that I was more than once thinking, wtf is this woman doing again but much more often I do stand absolutely impressed and in awe more than can i express with any words …! 🙂 I really do thank You and wish You and Your family all the best. And as a man from man to man all the best especially to Victor too as he probably from time to time cannot stop shaking his head thinking … 😉

Dear Ms. Lawson, keep on with all Your good work and of course I am looking forward to Your next book! 🙂 And as I have never been to the US and especially Texas and for several reasons probably won’t too I was especially happy to see some photos of the interior of Your bookshop which I really would like to visit and peruse … 🙂 ALL THE BEST and keep Your heads up …! 🙂

  20. You’ve come such a long way. I don’t check this site all that often anymore, because of, who I am as a person. But I used to be here all the time. And I remember YEARS ago you were going to like a blogger sleepover of something in like NY. And you were worried because you had to wear jeans and talk to people. And now you are just IN JAPAN. Like… WHAT!?!? Who are you? What have you done with Jenny! Also, I use the phrase “important turkey documents” all the time. Its now one of those things that other people use and they don’t know why.
    Have fun in Japan!

  21. Works, paywall, and also has severely stuffed up your home page width lol. Apart from that, YATTA!!! 😀

  22. Jenny, not sure if you will read this, but could you send good thoughts and any words of support to Niall Harbison? He rescues street dogs in Thailand and also knows that depression lies. Knowing and feeling/believing are two different things.

  23. One trick that sometimes works to read articles behind a paywall works for this one – click “show reader.” Very kindly, the format that makes this article accessible to blind and visually impaired people actually makes it accessible to everyone. Yay, access!

    (Love this! ~ Jenny)
