Does this look weird?

Not a real post…just a quick question…normally all my headlines and links are in hot pink but right now they look blue to me and I just got an error message when I logged in. Is it blue to you too? Should I try to fix it or is the blue a happy accident that’s easier to read? Does anything else look weird to you here that I’m missing? (Besides the fact that literally I thought it was September when I titled yesterday’s post, I mean.)

I finally took my Christmas tree down yesterday and everything has been off since then. I’m not sure if that’s related but if your tree is still up consider this a sign to keep it up if you want.

UPDATED: People are saying it’s pink to them. It doesn’t look like this to you?

  1. Are you sure you didn’t accidentally switch on the accessibility option? Pink in Nebraska

(I don’t even know what that means. So…maybe?? But I don’t know how I would turn it off. ~ Jenny)

  2. I swear to god it’s blue here. Is this a very elaborate prank you’re all pulling on me? I’m adding a picture. If y’all tell me the headlines are pink in the image too I’m going back to bed.

  3. Everything is pink for me! Maybe it’s a browser issue?
My Christmas tree is currently hanging out inside my laundry hamper after I got sick of my dog constantly knocking it over (it’s a little 2-foot thing and sat right in front of the glass porch-door that the dog always runs to whenever he thinks he hears something outside..). It’s still technically ‘up’, just not on the ground, lol. Been keeping it up year-round for a couple years now.

  4. It’s pink to us, lol. It may be that someone changed the settings on the user end so you can see what you’re doing without all the custom formatting? It may just be a temporary glitch, too. Deep breaths. This, too, shall pass.

  5. Pink, here, too! Is it weird that hot pink feels like a neutral color to me? I quilt, btw.

  6. Mine looks pink BUT in the picture it looks blue. I don’t think it’s you!!

  7. It’s pink here on the prairies of Alberta Canada. And my Christmas tree is still in the bay window. I even turned the lights on in July for awhile.

  8. I recently learned from two completely separate friends that they never bother taking their Christmas trees down at all. One moves it to a slightly less noticeable corner of the room but the other shamelessly leaves it right in front of the window. And now here you are saying that you have yours up in August.

I haven’t put a Christmas tree up for years almost entirely because I hate all the putting-it-up-just-to-take-it-down hassle. If I had known that never taking it down (or, at the very least, leaving it up for months) was an option, I might never have stopped doing it. I think we need to normalize this choice immediately. Christmas all year ’round for anyone who wants it, and no shame, no pressure, no stress. I love it!

  9. Blue in the image but pink as usual in reality…or whatever passes for reality these days. Maybe your Christmas tree is messing with you from beyond??

  10. Jenni, I’m a WordPress developer if you need help troubleshooting it. (and I’m local to you–in San Antonio. We hugged at the TEDxSanAntonio event 🙂 )

  11. This may not be helpful, but I poked around it the code a little. I assume you’re logged into something when you look at it? The blue you’re seeing looks like the same blue as the “comment” button here (#0675c4), which is possibly the default color for –color-primary (the pink should be #d60068).

So possibly you accidentally reset something to default in your editor, but didn’t save/publish it, so you’re the only one seeing it? Hard to guess without knowing what your backend looks like. It’s definitely something to do with that variable, because the “THE BLOGGESS” title in your screenshot is still pink for you, and that’s *not* –color-primary, it’s –color-primary-on-black.

(Looks like it’s pink for me when I use a browser I’ve never used before so maybe it is something that I’m just seeing in the backend. So weird. ~ Jenny)

  12. Oh I didn’t mean for that code post to be anonymous. Hi  happy to help if you need to email me or anything.

  13. Now I got to the link (via email version). I can click through and I see pink.

  14. The image you have is blue, but the post I received was the usual pink.

  15. Pink here, too. I’m on a mobile browser (chrome) if that helps narrow it down.

  16. Everything that is supposed to be pink is… except in your photo attachment. You’re not seeing things, but I’m not seeing what you are.

  17. Pink in MO. We used to have a vague goal of Christmas tree down by our daughter’s July bday but sometimes even that was a challenge. I’ve also been known to have the electric jack-o-lantern in the window with a Santa hat on it in December so there’s that.

  18. Your image is blue, but mine in MI is pink as usual. Not being very techie, I would shut it down and reboot. Usually works for me when it’s cranky.

  19. Your hyperlink colors seem to be switched to blue, for you.
Might be a WordPress settings problem, might be your browser settings problem.
Should be an easy fix, though.

  20. I only see pink too, like normal. Maybe you are stuck in editing mode or something?

  21. Pink! (Also in MT… to Anonymous above!)
Accessibility is for people who are colorblind. So if you choose it on your device,it switches your screen to high contrast, or if it’s your webpage, you can enable the option for your viewers. Just to explain. 🥰

  22. Pink in CT.
Looks like it’s usually imperfectly perfect self, but not sure why some people are seeing blue?

  23. … in case I’m not being clear. My wonderful friend, Jenny, you have clicked Accessibility mode and changed your screen view settings to high contrast… if you turn it off, I BELIEVE… it will go back to pink for you. 🥰🥰

  24. Looks pretty usual to me. Shades of pink and a bit of black and tiny bit of blue here and there. Can you help me fix the sound on my iPad?

  25. Pink here on your page but the link from my page is plain old black. No blue anywhere. Except maybe in my heart.

  26. At this point, you should leave your tree up! It’s only three months before you need to start all over – might as well save time!

    No, it doesn’t look weird.

  27. I wouldn’t call it hot pink but it’s definitely pink. But the screenshot of what you see is quite blue.

  28. It’s looks Fushia to me maybe you went to a 5 dimension and that why you could not log in you don’t know the password of the other Jeannie HOHOHO CLUE THE SCARY 🎶🎵 MUSIC 🎵🎶🥺🥺🥺😁

  29. FTLOG … looks pink to me but blue in your screenshot. I know how you feel, I sent out a newsletter a few days ago in exactly the same way using the same template I do every week, and suddenly if people opened it on a computer it was the usual dark text on white, but if they opened it with an app it was unreadable black text on navy. And when they sent it to me to complain it all looked readable to me. Techie help was convinced I was making it up. Have the machines taken over and these are the first hints they’re in charge?

  30. Looks pink to me. But can I just say how good it made me feel to read that you just took your Christmas tree down yesterday? Mine is still up. I’m not particularly hopeful that I’ll manage to take it down anytime soon. I have a very limited number of spoons and too many other things that I have to prioritize before the dumb tree.

  31. It looks pink to me. Sometimes polarized and blue light glasses can make colors look differently.

  32. It’s pink, but Mercury is retrograde so all bets are off tech-wisr

  33. Pink in California in Chrome! But the headline of the post in your screenshot it definitely blue. Love you and all the quirks and so wish I had this platform for all my tech problems!

  34. Accessible option switches to high contrast to help people with vision issues. I’m sure Haley could figure it out for you if that’s the case lol

(I thought it was that too but it’s not. It looks like it’s something on my side though so at least it’s not affecting anyone else. ~ Jenny)

  35. It’s PINK!!! and altho my Christmas tree is down my garland happily collects dust and glows a cozy red at night!

  36. It’s pink here in Virginia. Also, you do you for your Christmas tree, if you wanna leave it up 365 days, just do it. I have to hang mine upside down from the ceiling because of crazy cats that like to eat the fake green and also eat on the lights. So mine usually goes up around Thanksgiving comes down before New Years.

  37. Pink here, but is it pink if you log out of WordPress or open it in a new incognito window? The admin bar does some weird things to CSS sometimes.

  38. I put my Christmas tree up in December, 2019, and it hasn’t come down since. Around May of 2020, I looked at it balefully and sighed about needing to take it down, and my husband said, “Does it make you happy? Leave it up.” And I did.

  39. On my laptop in Florida, your post has a pink banner, but the image (the screen shot you posted) has a blue banner. So it does appear to be blue on your computer (while pink on everyone else’s). Go figure.

  40. It’s pink! And on Thursday at work, it was September all day and no one corrected me!

  41. Could be worse; could be orange.

I think it’s the lack of compatibility between competing operating systems.

  42. It’s pink! Is it because you edit the site and have been to those pages before? Like how links normally turn purple? My shop does that and it messes me up sometimes too.

  43. Here’s some different weirdness: I clicked on the “Continue reading” button in the email you sent, and McAfee warned me that I was trying to go to a suspicious website. I never got that warning before when clicking that link.
Went back to the email and clicked on “Comment” and it brought me here with no warning. Spooky!

  44. Its Pink, but I will say that I haven’t been able to see your instagram photos on here in a while. Did you get rid of them? There used to be like 3 thumbnails of your most recent posts on the left under your books.

  45. Your computer is probably possessed, and you may need an exorcist. Reseat the cable between the monitor and the computer as this is where evil spirits enter the system. Alternatively, place your monitor in the driveway and back over it. This will not fix the problem, but you’ll feel so much better!

  46. Oh no, the blue links are definitely a glitch! It might be a temporary issue with the platform you’re using. Hopefully, it’ll be fixed soon.

As for the Christmas tree, I’m not surprised you’re feeling a bit off after taking it down. It can be a bit of a letdown. Maybe you could try decorating for another holiday, like a winter wonderland theme, to keep the festive spirit alive.

Don’t worry about the late post title. We all make mistakes sometimes. It’s part of being human! 😊

  47. The game has bright graphics, an easy but addicting way to play, and many levels that get harder as you go. It’s possible to get power-ups, unlock new characters, and try to get high scores or finish challenges on certain levels.
