Step into my office for 10 minutes because you need to see this shit.

I’m coming out of a depressive funk where everything that should take 5 minutes takes 180 years and still isn’t done right so I’m taking a break and you should take a break too and we can look at the instagram posts I’ve saved for you because we have the same weird senses of humor and because maybe you also use instagram to feel like you’re visiting people without actually leaving the house. And by “people” I mainly mean “people’s pets”. The usual.

Starting with this pep talk, which I totally needed:

I needed that. Now back to work. And by “work” I mean “doing the same load of laundry for the third time in a row because I keep forgetting to put it in the dryer”.

  1. I wish we could see the images without going to Instagram… it’s lame how they keep changing the preview options. On this WordPress blog I just see the IG icon in a big blank square and it says “view this post on Instagram” but yes, we all need the cats, dogs and sweet animals videos and pictures — they are definitely keeping me in smiles right now! <3

  2. It works on my iPad, all the images are there as is the arrow to press & view. Thanks for the Friday smiles.

  3. My favorite is the cat torturing his person for ignoring them while they are on the computer….”pay attention to me, or I will throw books at you….”
I’ve done the “I have to wash the laundry again because I forgot to put it in the dryer.”
    Thank you for the chuckle!

  4. This was exactly what I needed today. Feeling pretty blue and just fighting through… but I feel like I’ve got a bit more fight in me now. 🙂

  5. Thank you. I needed this. I have forgotten to take my laundry out of the dryer all week.

  6. Thanks, my kids and I needed that. Hope you feel better soon. ♥️♥️♥️

  7. hahaha, i needed the laugh from these, thank you! my favorites were the acron one and the kool-ade man one.

  8. I’m crying laughing over here. Thank you for this. Going to swap over my laundry now (that I meant to swap over sooner but got distracted with work/emails/podcasts/planner/food/coffee, etc).

  9. Oh my my! What a great collection of furry and elfish fun. Laughter is the best medicine. Hoping everyone can giggle and wiggle their asses right out of Funky Town!

  10. OMG the TV anchor looking at a line drawing of a suspect? I was thinking, “that guy looks awfully familiar, is that NBC LA? Then I looked at the identifying bug. THAT’S MY HOMETOWN. My late stepfather used to work for that station. I was in their Junior Achievement company one year. I HAVE WORKED THEIR EQUIPMENT. I’m stuck watching it every time I visit my mother.

And that’s just the sort of reporting one can expect from there.

  11. thanks for the laughs!
“Oh wait, the sweatpants, I did appreciate the sweatpants”.

  12. ..omg you just made me remember that my laundry is still in the washer. Ummm. Also all those acorns. Whaaat.

  13. That was more than 10 minutes because I laughed too long and hard. No I have to change my pants.

  14. Several of them, for me, were laugh out loud worthy. Many others were very funny/cute/warming… I think my husband tried to play with our girls when they were little like the dad blowing the trike did… maybe that explains some of their minor boo-boos!
Jenny, you are the reason I open email. If I get to laugh like that, it’s sooo worth it! Keep them coming!

  15. Well heck at least you are doing the laundry! I’ve been ‘omg out of clothes MUST do laundry tomorrow’ for the last month! (Seriously, at this point it’s just easier to handwash a few things as needed rather than doing the 10+ loads of laundry…)
Videos of dogs in snow will always be among my favorite animal content online. Jumping in snow, sliding in snow, falling in snow, etc.

  16. Thank you, Jenny. I really needed this today. I thought when we started a new calendar that things would get better. But they didn’t. So far, you’re the best thing for 2021. <3

  17. Yeah I haven’t got the clothes INTO the washing machine yet. You are winning. I just bought a packet of socks because i ran out.

  18. I laughed so hard at the leaf blower dad! Too funny. It feels so good to laugh! That and the dog with the acorns. Thank you, Jenny!!

  19. Thank you for those! My husband wondered what I was laughing and snorting about. I honestly couldn’t stop giggling long enough to tell him. Acorns and leaf blower locomotion…and the cat so nonchalantly planning a murder. Love them all and needed them today. The other bright spot in my week- I received my signed copy of Lets Pretend!!! YOU are magic! 💕💕💕

  20. Thank you for these…my depression’s been kicking my a** the last couple of weeks and I really, really could use some respite laughs. 🙃

  21. OMG. I laughed so hard I cried and coughed and then laughed harder. Thank you for this!

  22. Thank you for the laundry reminder. I am now running a cushion cover through the wash for a third time. 🤦🏻‍♂️

  23. The husky made my husband come look to see what on earth I was watching. I told him to remind me to never get a husky. Thanks, as always!

  24. Thank you for this post I really needed to laugh. We had another “historic” windstorm here and are going on day four with no power and I can see my breath inside my house. I finally understand why people used to sleep with hats on and the only compelling reason to leave my bed with several down blankets is to to pee.

  25. The guy playing music for the racoons was the coolest. However, some of these made me laugh out loud. Thank you. I needed a good laugh.

  26. Those were awesome, great way to start the day. Now I gotta learn to play flute, need me some chonky raccoons 😂😋

  27. Thank you so very much for curating the humor and humanity that we all really need right now.. Be well J + V + H and all of the many furred and stuffed.

  28. I hope someone saves that adorable guinea pig because it’s definitely someone’s pet that was dumped outside!

  29. I didn’t have any problem watching the videos right on the Bloggess page in Google Chrome. Didn’t have to go to Instagram except the ones I watched m ore than once lol

  30. You are so good to us. My favorite is the dog sliding in the snow. So joyful. Thanks Jenny!

  31. Thank you for these posts! I share them with the teachers I work with since they are all super stressed out.

  32. This was exactly what I needed today. Feeling pretty blue and just fighting through… but I feel like I’ve got a bit more fight in me now. 🙂
